Esso washroom not allowed

I drove all the way from Toronto to Brampton to drop my customer on Tuesday July 05/2016 evening with limited amount of gas which only can be enough for a one way trip. After I dropped of my customer I went to the closest Esso station which is located on 9800 chinguacousy rd (chinguacousy rd/ Williams pkwy) around 10:20pm to get gas and use a wash room at the same time. As the nature call was not giving me time till I pump the gas, I left my car by the pump and run to the store washroom. When I tried it to open the washroom it was locked. I went to the cashier(her name is Ruppet ) and asked for a key she to told me to ask the other guy who was receiving deliveries for the keys. He responded me he doesn't know about the key and sent me back to the cashier. As I told her what he said she told me that the washroom is out of order and she can't give me the keys where there was no out of order sign hanged on the door and the vacant sign is on. I never have been experiencing this kind of situation in any Esso gas station which is my preferred gas station where I get gas every other day and some times every day due to the nature of my job. I even went to this gas station to pay a higher price which was 99.6 cents as there was a cheaper price 95.1 cents at the shell gas station which was very close, because Esso was my preferred station. To make the long story short, I got my gas from shell gas station with a cheaper price, used the washroom and drove back to Toronto.

I tried to attached the pictures of the washroom doors which shows that there is no out of order sign posted and the receipt i paid for gas at the shell gas station; but the page wouldn't let me.

I just had the identical experience at the very same Esso Service station; in trying to use the washroom (unfortunately I had already bought $56 worth of gas).. And yes, it was a female there but I did not get her name

Esso washroom

Imagine my horror when i went to use the male washroom in the said gas station only to find out that there was human excrement all over the toilet seat and by the looks of it it had been there for some time. When i went to complain to the attendant he replied that he knew about it but had no done anything about cleaning the mess up. His answer was "what would you like me to do about it?" I find this very annoying and very much out of order and very unprofessional.

Esso washroom not allowed to use

I was at esso at 9800 chingoucy rd, Brampton on 20 March 2016 at 22.38 hrs
Went to buy calling card, decided to use wasroom which was showing vacant on sign but locked, asked keys from GSA, answer out of service, asked why no sign of out of service, no answer started taking other customer as, I was not asking anything
After completing customer line called other guy
Introducing him as manager name sabir/samer, I asked him about using wasroom he answered out of service .
I asked why no signs and how come both wasroom were locked, answer because of plumbing reson, I really doubt about out of service excuse, they just lock wasroom after 10 pm
Pissing off customer .
Petro Canada is lot better in our area

Esso incorrect beverage price advertised

I went in to this Esso station yesterday to purchase 5 bottles of Gatorade for myself and my construction crew. The price advertised on the refrigerator door said "Gatorade: 2 for $4.00". After scanning each bottle independently (Can't they just scan one and multiply it by 5?) the price came up at about $16 including HST. I said to the clerk "The sign says 2 for $4.00", to which he replied "That's an old sign, the sale doesn't apply anymore, I need to take that sign down". The sign, by the way, was written in marker on a piece of ratty old bond paper taped to the door with scotch tape. I said "Ok", made the purchase, and left the store.

Now, falsely advertising the price knowingly is an offense under the Consumer Protection Act of Ontario, however if the clerk informs you of the error at the time of purchase there is not a violation of the law. Inferring from the apparent age of the sign, this isn't the first time this has happened. I feel that the establishment is purposely leaving the sign up to defraud consumers and only admit to them them "That's an old sign, the sale doesn't apply anymore, I need to take that sign down" when questioned, in an attempt to skirt the law and trick consumers who don't check the price at checkout, which is generally combined with a gasoline purchase and therefore difficult to tell the subtle difference in expected price.

Esso refund for "pump malfunction" charged when i could not pump

Looks like I will be going back to Shell or Husky from now on. Esso's pump "malfunctioned" and it has been over a month and they have not given me back my $40 that they charged my card. I have had conversations back and forth with them, they promised to credit me via my points card (which would have been ok as well) but till this day NOTHING! I'm also going to advise my large family not to buy from them if they can avoid it. For $40 they have lost a loyal customer!

Esso unethical behaviour and improper service

Today on day 31/Mar/2016 at 5.53 p.m. Invoice no. RJY16000, I went to Esso Gas Station & Convenience Store (Chancellor Esso) # 2019 Pembina Hwy, Winnipeg, for pumping fuel in to my Car. The Attendant named Mr Imran at the Esso Gas Staion very rude & does not pay respect & attention.

Some couple of weeks ago, I complained against the same attendant to the store manager, and the couple days after the same attendant asked me you complained against me and also yelling at me. I kept quite and make payment and went away.

I wonder, how the Esso Gas Station attendant behave, even today he threatened me.

Esso owner and clerk

There was stars bus broke down in the parking lot and a mechanic trying to get it up and running, the owner came and started yelling and screaming at the men they apologized which made the owner proceed to scream more and curse at them. When I called to place a complaint on how the situation was handled I was lied too and told the owner wasn't in, and that there was no guy that works there. When I told the lady that was a lie she admitt3d he was there when I told her the complaint she said they didn't really care and that they were willing to loose the towns business. Absolutely disgusted and will be boycotting this esso.

Esso incorrect change and refusal to reimburse full amount owed!

It was approximately 115 pm and I went in with a fifty dollar bill and made my purchase gave it to clerk when she gave me change she only gave me change for a twenty the date of this purchase was 14 of march 2016 clerk told me to contact manager at 3 pm and when I called to get a manager she said that I could not speak to one she was very rude the clerks name is Manjit man is what I was told I am a mother of three and do not appreciate the way I was treated or robbed of money to feed my children something has to be done about this rude clerk ! She was asked to pull up her cash receipt for her till to count her float and she refused she was asked to view camera footage and refused she should not be working with the public with her poor customer skills,

Esso gas station - customer service

To The Customer Service Department
Subject: Incident Report – Customer Complaint - Attendant Francis (Middle Age, Strong accent, Russian or similar)

ESSO GAS Station –
9800 Chinguacousy Rd
Williams Pkwy E
Brampton, ON L6X 5E9

Time and Weather Conditions:
Arrival: 12:00 am – January 23 Temperature was -7 Degrees Freezing
Completed Transaction 12:28 am.

1. Tried to Use: Pump. No response from pump. Waited for 2 min. No Attendant information
2. Tried To pay at the Pump via Debit Card. Process went through, final message was Pump Ready. (Assuming all good). Pump not working.
3. Went inside and inquired. Attendant Francis with 2 others mentioned they where in the middle of turnover. Impressions, attendats were obviously busy with turnover procedures.
3.1 Complain 1. Store must have system in place informing customer’s state of affairs. They left us hanging and guessing what’s going on. I do not know about turnover procedures. Signages must be in place for customers to see that services are on halt for x number of minutes allowing us not to freeze off enduring -7 degrees.
3.2 Complaint 2. After paying from pump. Message said pump ready. There was no message stating pump cancelled transaction.
3.3 Complaint 3. Attendant Francis, seemed annoyed explaining this to me. Remember, I am a paying customer to ESSO. I do not know that my transaction was cancelled at the pump. Pump message was “Pump Ready” after I seemingly completed a debit payment.
4. Mentioned that I needed a car wash. Attendant Francis mentioned that I could purchase wash from the counter or from the pump. Mentioned that I had a previous faulty wash prior and have a receipt with a writing from another attendant (present that evening) for another. The attendant explained that I will be honored and that I should drive up to the car wash and press the speaker button and that the attendant will come out and press a code to allow the new wash. The attendant cleared the system was ready again.
5. Attendant Francis said I can pay here cash or at the pump.
5.1 Complaint 4. Attendant Francis never said that the system is back but now on pre-pay mode. Although the system whent back online, the attendant Francis should have clearly informed me the customer that the system is back online but is on pre-pay mode already.
6. Went back to the pump and tried using the non pre-pay mode hoping that it would work. And It didn’t. Tried to pay at the pump but in my frustration, I suppose the rewards card did not work.
7. Went back inside and asked why. Attendant Francis said there must be something wrong with the card. Said almost sure there was nothing wrong with my rewards card. He said there is.
7.1 Complain 5. Attendant must exhaust all power to verify if the card is working or not. (i.e. Inquiry ect.) There must be a way of testing instead of informing your customers flat out is defective.
8. Another attendant said maybe it’s inserted incorrectly. I don’t normaly insert cards incorrectly but he went out with me to try. It did. I feel so stupid but at least there was the effort from a clocked out attendee. (Cheers!)
8.1 Complain 6. Although, he also demonstrated a demeaning behaviour. I get it they are tired. Forgivable. But to allow the customer feel like an imbasil is still poor customer service.
9. Managed to get the pay-at-the pump procedure working and able to gas up. Next stop was the Car wash. Drove to the entrance and pressed the button as instructed. Attendant Francis said use the code on the receipt. I mentioned I need a special code I am the one who needed special attention. Attendant Francis said I should dirve up to the store and he will give me a new code.
9.1 Complain 7. They new I needed this before and they made me go trough hoops and get back again. Mind you this was -7 degrees outside, as I was enduring this agony with your attendant.
10. As he was printing my new code, I asked for a complaint sheet. He acted surprised and demanded why. I informed him that I need to inform his supervisor / manager of my ordeal here. He insisted he did nothing wrong. And demanded that I tell him why.
10.1 Complain 8. It is my desire to file a complaint. I do not need to be intimidated if I wish to do so. Attendant Francis was intimidating. I explained to him that I do not need to explain to him but only need to file a complaint.
11. I asked him, if he was refusing to give me a contact number and informed him that I will be recording our conversation going forward to add to my complaints. At this point he began to tell me that he does not have any number or person for me to contact other than a service number. I asked it from him and he calmly gave it to me.
12. I ended with letting him know that he had no customer service at all. My entire ordeal lasted for around 30 minutes to get gas and get a car wash exposing myself to frigid temperatures. I do not mind unfortunate incidents, but to undergo intimidation when asking for a complain form or number is unacceptable. I refuse to be bullied or spoken down to. I am a paying customer and expect to be treated with dignity, and with reasonable tolerance.

I am submitting this for your review and evaluation. You need to know how some of your stores operate and it's frustrating at time. We are not all trying to get your employees fired or reprimanded. I would expect you to train them to be polite professionals.

Esso service - stereotyping/discrimination

On Dec 17/15 in Regina is was at 925 Arcola Ave Esso trying to fill my truck at 7pm when I was told I had to prepay for my fill now I told the attendant that I have no idea how much fuel I needed. The other customer a younger guy did not have to prepay for his fuel he was white. Now being native being the factor here doesn't make the attendant correct in stereotyping/discriminating against me . I have been a Esso customer for a long time and this is the first horrible customer experience that I have encountered by someone who I could barely understand. I am a 47 year native man who has been working for a GM dealer for 23 years I am disheartened at the policy to just signal out certain people.

Esso unethical behaviour and improper customer service

This incident occurred on 11/02/2015 at 8:39:39 PM as said on the receipt. My name is Kalaimathy Gopal, Trans #: 3537. My cashier name is Patel (42 Patel) and the location this incident occurred was at McMaster Esso, 1445 Main Street West, Hamilton ON L8S 1C8. I was pumping gas and it came out to be about 20 dollars (20.01 to be exact). I went to pay for it when I decided to get a car wash especially since I have the esso points card and I can redeem a free car wash. I went in and told the cashier, Patel, that I would like to redeem my FREE car wash at the same time of paying my gas total. At the moment, he asked me to give him my points card and then without telling me, he punched in what I owed him and my daughter paid for it. Now I came out of the esso station to the car wash station and as I was about to punch in the code, I noticed he had charged me for the gas and car wash. I retrieved back and went to the cashier and told him that I was to redeem the free car wash and yet you charged me. I asked him if he can do a refund. As soon as I had told him, he immediately projected his voice really loud and started to show me attitude when he was telling me that I had not told him about my free car wash. I had told him that I stated the free car wash before I paid for the gas and then he started to say that I was lying and that he did not hear me. I told him that I have the points and that I would like a refund. He immediately became defensive and said he would not do the refund. I became surprised because not only did he show me any respect as a customer, he refused to give me the refund and didn't want to solve this issue like any cashier and customer would do at other places. He became so rude and started to yell back at me calling me a liar and that I cannot get my refund. As soon as he started to accuse me for no reason, I asked to talk to the manager of the station. He immediately told me that I cannot talk to a manager, and even when I asked him why, he said that he will not get me a manager. I became furious since not only was he so disrespectful and embarrassing me infarct of other customers, he refused to get the manager. Not only was his attitude terrible and disrespectful as he is yelling at me at this point, he then said after refusing to get a manager or contact him, he was accusing me for being disrespectful and lying to him. I told him at that point that I would not leave this location if I do not get a manager, and then he immediately told me that he was the manager. I was astonished that someone like this can not only yell at a customer and not treat them respectfully and take care of this problem, but he lied to my face after refusing to get the manager. When I was stressed out and furious from his behaviour, he then said he will call the manager because he realized he just lied to me and then whoever was on the line told him he can give me the refund and what I asked for. When he did the refund he did not give me the exact change. I have the refund receipt and on it said he was to give me 10.99 for that is what I was charged.However he gave me 10.15 instead. I asked him why is he not giving me exact and he replied back yelling that he cannot since I don't have the points redeem the free car wash and that he is deducting change. I was furious because I had seen my account and I know I had enough points and he lied to me . Also he did not show me any evidence but just did everything on his own and what ever he wanted to do, he just did it. I was so stressed and so angry at his behaviour, I have never in my life seen someone so rude and disrespectful yelling back at a customer and refusing to do what higher officials would do. He seemed as if he owned the place and lied to me so much that it was unbelievable. On my receipt, it says that my available esso extra points are 637 and to redeem a free car wash (quick wash:499). It is not possible to not have enough for a free quick car wash and yet he lied to me from the start and gave me wrong change without giving me any proof like a receipt to explain why he didn't give me the refund amount. i asked him if i can get my first receipt where he punched in the car wash and the gas price and he responded how he cannot provide the receipt because he needs it to sell to someone else. what does that even mean! I was so furious at this point and I told him he should not behave or talk to the customer and that I will report this to head department. He called me a liar again told me that I should know how to respect people and that when I told him he will be in trouble for his act, he said that I will be in trouble for this and not him. I would have stayed there longer but unfortunately he made me so furious and there were other customers I had left the esso and was so stressed and embarrassed from his humiliating event. I need to know what justice is this to be honest and like every customer, want to be treated equally. The way this man talked and responded was disgusting. To think he has the right to be in a position to assist people astonishing me to think that positions are assigned to people who are unqualified and disrespectful to customers. Who are you hiring cause if this is what my service is like, then no one should come to this business, afraid that they will have a terrible experience like I had. Esso miss treatment at esso hardisty alberta

I was in Hardisty(Alberta, 2 hours south east of Edmonton) Esso gas station on Saturday Aug 15, 2015 early in the morning.There was an oriental guy 50 to 55 years old.When I asked for washroom, with his oriental accent which was not clear he said overflowing which sounds like upper flowing and because he was pointing with his finger up, I thought he was saying washroom is in upper floor.So I asked him again for couple of times for more clarification and finally I found that he meant washroom is out of service.However after second time he look at me very badly and said you don't understand overflowing? after this I said I want coffee and added that hopefully coffee is not out of order because I needed a coffee . as soon as I said that, the guy approached me and pointed to me and with a very nervous behavior he said why you said that? I said because that store was not 24 hr store and they opened shortly before I arrived, I thought maybe coffee is not ready yet.But the cashier (which seemed to be the owner of the place)even allowed me to Finnish, and he yelled at me that why you want to make fun of me and immediately he said " get out my property " and he was about to leave the cash register area and coming to me .I did feel very bad and also nervous, I left the store because first I was so outraged and second I felt unsafe to stay there. I have never seen such a customer service before.I will be calling Esso customer service, hopefully they look after this otherwise I will never go to ant Esso gas station anywhere .

I live in Hardisty, and that is standard behavior for the man. Everyone I know who lives in Hardisty avoids his business. He only stays in business because his is the only non-cardlock gas station in town, and there are lots of transient oil workers here.

Esso fraud

I went to purchase gas based on the sign of 113.9 per litre but when i was about to put my credit card through, I noticed the attendant changed the price to 117.9. I found it very suspicious considering I was the only customer there. This happened Aug 4 2015 at 12:06am

I called head office later that day and they told me it's not a big deal as the attendant just made a mistake...he didn't take my complaint seriously. I wonder how many other people get gauged like this without noticing.

Esso refused to take gas coupon

Loblaw Canada and Esso Canada is running until July 22, 2015 gas save up to 10 Cents Per Litre off coupons. I stopped in to fill my tank and no where was it posted on the pumps or as I entered the gas station that they did not except these coupons as they were still not set up with the new units. I pass 3 Esso Stations on my way home from work every day so I could have went to the next station if I knew. I filled up my vehicle with 65.003 L of gas for $1.169/L which cost $75.99. When I went into the gas station with my 10 cent coupon per litre off coupon I was informed that they were given new units and they were not working yet and they would not take the coupon. When I asked why don't they do what they did the last time they just paid me the $6.50 the cost of the savings on the coupon and I was told that they could not do that anymore as they would not get refunded by Esso Canada. At this point I paid the bill and left very dissatisfied with the service I was provided. I hope that Esso Canada will stand behind the guarantee of their gas coupons and refund me the money that I should have received the day I was in and I filled up my vehicle. I did this on June 16, 2015 at 5:29:44pm. The cashiers name was John. Register: 1 Trans #: 1002 Op ID: 1 This is all coming from the receipt I received. I hope to hear back from you very soon.

Esso rudeness lack of customer respect

Attendant: older man with beard - refused to give name
I live in the area and frequent this station for fuel. I have 4 vehicles in my household. This day i was riding my $10, 000 road racing bicycle, and stopped in to buy a $2 bottle of water. I decided to bring my bike in as i will not leave such a bike outside unattended. This attendant decided that it was ok to start yelling at me in front of 5 other customers in that station. If you cannot have respect for your customers that spend money in your business to pay your bills; and you think that is your right? You are dead wrong! You have to earn your business ; just because you have a "esso" sign on your front door does not mean you are entitled to business. I will not be purchasing fuel from this place again and i will make sure all my family and friends are not either. A lot of us ride in this area and i will also let everyone know of this as well. So please do not purchase your fuel from this station, they need to understand that "we" the customers are not taken for granted. . . . This can happen to you! And they need to earn our business!

Esso car wash does not wash properly

On or about April 28 at 07:20:39 AM, I filled up the tank of my card and purchased a luxury carwash as I usually do.
This is the second time that I use that service last month and my car does not look spotless nice as in the past.
I have told that to the attendant the next day. I told him I used to get a great wash all the time, but now, it was no good! I showed him the strikes and spots unwashed. I also have a mounted camera which I have tape the wash to show him, but he was not interested.

His answer was -…. What do you expect, it is touchless!... I resent that response and that is why I am writing to you. I just expected an ESSO employee to follow up with his superior and bring back the great washes I used to get.

I have sent this email to the ESSO complaints department 10 days ago, still no answer. Silly me, yesterdas, went to wash the car again to see if the problem was corrected. Still bad.

Esso No Diesel

Fueling up with diesel, pump was moving slowly so i stopped and went inside to pay because pay at pump wasnt working. Told the attendant that the pump was moving slowly so i wasnt able to fill up. I left and realized that my fuel gage did not move AT ALL! I paid for fuel i did not get. I have been trying to get a manager to call me to reimburse me for almost two weeks. I have left 4 messages with employees. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE service

Esso lottery tickets

I walked into the gas station across the street from my home to repurchase my regular lottery tickets, as I've done for 9 years now. I recently also purchase an additional 3 for my Mother who now spends these cold Winter's in Florida . In the past I've noticed this same employee, either throwing someone out of the store for anything at all it seems, usually a pump not working or the car wash broken once again, if they exhibit any dissatisfaction... they're out. He reminds me of an umpire at times. I used to find it somewhat amusing until tonight. I've also witnessed him on a few occasions disallowing someone entrance to the store, maybe this justifiable or not, It is intolerable for abusing his fellow employees from what I've seen, just like he did tonight, usually they are being too slow at the end of their shift, so he can go like a gopher back and forth, from one register to another. I had purchased my regular $4-6 boards, $18+6 for a grand total of $24. Tonight I clearly marked HEAVILY with ink inside the $4 box. He gave me only 1 ticket . He proceeded to tell me to move to the side as he wanted to use both cash machines. I showed him my slip and he said listen buddy just fill out another ticket . I'm not used to anyone talking to me this way. I have been trained to curb my temper for 22 years now. Martial arts will mellow you over time it works for me until someone is rude and disrespects me. Tonight his fellow employee was clearly upset with his behavior, and agreed with me, and suggested that he had better find my Ontario 49 since he had lost it.. He whispered in my ear move again buddy the f... side, and fill out another f... ticket, and then leave my store. I told him that he had no right to ask me to leave the store, especially this not being his store, this was clearly a mistake he had made by rushing, and panicking. His fellow employee told me that he does not want to be responsible for anything. I had asked his fellow employee if he would corroborate my story of what had just occurred, and he said he was 100% on my side., so I proceeded home. This is not the first incident that I've had at this gas station concerning my lottery tickets. I have called the O.L.G at least 3 times in the past. They've been disallowed to sell any lottery tickets just after my last complaint for 4-6 weeks if my memory is correct. Also earlier this Winter I would walk into their station on a Friday evening to purchase 1 lotto max, and 4-9 lottario depending on the grand prize, each and every week for a couple of Months there were no lottario sheets. Every time I was in their, I politely requested could they please reorder some more sheets. It fell on deaf ears for Months . I can prove this as I had to buy my tickets elsewhere. I go there for the convenience only, not the company, trust me, it's a terrible experience at best now, panic city, always a line up a mile long, and only one person at the cash register, while the other employee is outside smoking or talking with friends, or restocking at the most inconvenient time. This bully tonight has clearly messed with the wrong guy this time, cause I'm not going anywhere. I'll be back tomorrow, and again until he gets it right. I have the faith, it might be a small miracle, but they do happen.

I think the problem is you have a lot of growing up to do. He has every right to kick you out and call the cops if you refuse to leave. Perhaps a little time in juvie will set you straight.

Esso Refused to return money after I decided not to purchase gas.

I went into the gas station around 3:30am on February 5th 2015, I waited outside for about a minute while the guy at the cash didn't mind my presence standing at my vehicle pump in hand waiting for him to activate the pump. Finally he says you have to pay first with this look in his almost as if to say, (you made me say 'pay first') so fine, I go in pay the $20 and say with slight frustration thank you have a good night.. I go back outside and the pumps still not working and he's just about through a door looking back as he's distancing himself from the cash register.. so he slowly moves back, at this point i'm thinking i'm not going to buy gas here any more and i'll go somewhere were I like the service. I know on the door and he just points back at the pump, but i'm maintaining my decision so after a few seconds the door unlocks and I explain to him, forget it just give me back my money.. he refuses. if I remember correctly he says I can't with little or no explanation.. I maintain and say i'm not buying gas here.. your making me wait and thats it basically.. after I get frustrated and raise my voice he still doesn't give the money, but just sits in a chair all calm and almost completely unresponsive to my demand for my money to be refunded.. I call the police 2 young guys in there early 20's show up, go in and come back telling me the guy doesn't know how to open his register and that it's too late for him to call his manager.. I don't buy it, excuse the pun, so I get the police to get a copy of the receipt. now I have to make a complaint and get my $20 back.. since when can someone just make up a silly excuse that they can't open the cash register to refund a customers money! this is going to esso now, and I will persist. as a customer give so much money to gas stations I will not settle for poor service if such a large portion of my income is getting sucked up for over priced gas!

Esso waiting in line for 30 mins to pay for gas

I waited in line for about 30 mins to pay for gas this morning. I left without paying because the attendant didn"t know what he was doing. He should not work in the morning rush hour or need more training. Now I have to return once again to the gas station to pay for my gas. I will never go back there. Thanks
