I downloaded an Emsisoft Anti Malware one month free trial on 10/31/2015. At that time the Windows Vista OS was supported. I purchased the same software on 11/28/2015 not knowing a new version that does not support Vista after March 2016 was released on 11/23/2015. The purchase was made from a prompt letting me know my trial was about to end. On December 02, 2015, Emsisoft put out notice saying it is unethical to sell anti malware to XP and Vista OS users. The CEO of Emissoft offered me a refund but the point is why would they have sold me the software in the first place if they say it is unethical to do so? I never would have paid full price for only 4 months coverage on a one year contract. Where is the ethics in this?

The statement is incorrect, sorry. Windows Vista was not displayed as "supported operating system" on product pages after May 2015 for exactly that reason. We wanted to be sure that nobody who uses Vista would buy a product that can't be guaranteed to be supported after April 2016 (the officially announced end of support). Technically the product version 10 that was bought still works on Vista though. And it will be supported with malware detection updates until April 2016 as promised. I believe this is a huge misunderstanding here as the new version 11 that was recently released is not running on Vista anymore, but users can still run the previous version 10 on Vista without issues.
