Im complaining about This person because he approve me a car 10/18 make me swap my insurance to the new car he let me take it home and 10/19 he take it from me because I need a co-signed way he let me take it at the first place now I need a answer way he sale me a car and then take it away from me this is not professional and I'm really upset

Empire Hyundai Bait and switch

Hello,

Don't bother with these crooks, looking into my options for a court case as we speak.

First

I bought my car in 2016. Everything was great in that aspect, my salesman Ron was very nice friendly, down to earth and not fake. I left happy, I loved my car at the time. I went to the bank for a different reason, paperwork in hand because I was going into work right after that. One of the loan officers said hey you bought a new car congrats you mind if I take a look at that paperwork, I said sure no problem. Well, well. Long story short she has seen that they snuck in a $2000 warranty that I DID NOT agree too. We all know Hyundai has the best warranty around. 100,000 miles or 10 years which ever comes first. She has also seen my rate was way too high she fixed that as well. She also saved me almost $200 a month on my payment a year off the loan.

Fast forward to today. I just got my title in. I've paid off my car this year. The Title says 3, 229 miles on instead of 9 miles like it was when I bought it. Also says used when it was brand new off the showroom floor. I have a picture of the odometer the day I bought it and left with it where it says 9 miles! Not 3,229 miles. I now do some research and see this is something they do all the time, sell people loaners and or rentals and say that they are brand new. Plop them on the showroom floor and screw over people right and left. Not me I'm not letting this go. No way no how! I work hard for my money and I will not be fooled by some car salesman [censored] in a Walmart suit. Thank god I took pictures of that odometer thank god!

I called today and spoke to a DJ who actually said "I looked up your paperwork and [censored]" really bro? Ok. Tells me I knew I bought a loaner. I said a what? You know a rental car? The hell I did. Joe and Ron never disclosed to me my car was a rental just like they didn't tell me about the extra warranty they threw in I didn't ask for. Empire if you're reading this... I'll be in touch... Don't worry.

Empire Hyundai scam/unethical

I went to Empire Hyundai on 9/2/17 in response to a flyer that said I had won a $100. gift card. When I called the dealership after receiving the flyer, the woman said the gift card was for Walmart or Target. Another woman called me the following day and said the same thing. I also had printed out (from their website) a form that said I would receive a $40. prepaid visa card after I took a test drive. When I went to the dealership, they gave me four $25. gift cards for online retailers who had only overpriced, expensive items and so the $25. gift cards were worthless. At the dealership, the man at the desk giving promotions told the salesman to give me the other card IF I BOUGHT A CAR! Then, after I took the test drive, the sales mgr. took the form I had printed out re: the $40. visa card and said I would get it in the mail. Since then, I have had numerous email and phone calls from them telling me to come in and take a test drive to get the card! I then spoke to an office person and one of the mgrs, who said the people on the phone who told me I would get the Walmart/Target card didn't say that and I could come down there and listen to all the recorded calls! Now, they say that they can't find the form for the visa card and want me to do another one online, except the promotion has somehow disappeared from their site. I have never ever been treated so disrespectfully by any company and I am disgusted at their scam. I would never do business with a company like this.

Empire Hyundai Sales

The initial problems began when Empire quoted me a price for the new car IN WRITING and then tried to raise the price by $1, 000. Assistant Sales Manager, Paul McCarthy, stated he WOULD NOT honor the written quoted price of the car. The internet sales office said (Brandy or Casey) said Empire has given appraised trade-ins over the phone in the past. Assistant Manager, Paul, gave promise over the phone of $10, 000 for trade, then denied it once I drove over 400 miles to get there. Salesman, without my permission or knowledge, went to my car, rifled through my personal documents covering my written car quote, and brought the quote to me at his desk—total invasion of privacy. Withheld my keys from me, after I asked several times for them, so that I could not leave, essentially holding me hostage. General Manager, Joe, literally bellowing at me and berating me in front of Empire employees and customers; and Joe arrogantly announcing to everyone in the showroom that he deletes negative reviews on their web page—witnessed and irrefutable. The integrity their web page refers to was absent in the dealings they had with me that day and was again mirrored in their response to my Better Business Bureau review. This was all a direct reflection of the owner’s business policies. I wonder if it was a reflection of my status as a senior citizen, female, and veteran or is it how consumers as a whole are treated by them.

Empire Hyundai Disrespect and unprofessionalism

I purchased a car on 5/25/2012 from Empire Hyundai. I agree that the $5, 000.00 trade in is not accurate as I was told the price of the car already included the trade in it. I have to say my sales associate was fine after all he has to sell cars: RIcardo Bernardino. I got a great offer and was told it was good until the end of the day and in fact 2 hours after leaving the dealership, I called in a credit card deposit for $500.00 to hold the car. Being Memorial Day weekend I didn't think I could get back to the dealership until 5/29/2012 to close the deal. I was paying cash and needed to get to a bank. I instead went to the bank on 5/25, got the chec, k and surprised the dealership with my arrival at 9am hoping to pick up my new car. That is when I had the displeasure of meeting Eric Moura, Sales Manager. He walked in stood, looking down at me and stated if I wanted the car it would be at a different price, clearly not the price offered me. He stated the following: "You should have purchased it yesterday for that price it was an in dealership deal." I told him I gave a deposit he stated: "Prove it, do you have a receipt." Of course I didn't I gave my cc info over the phone. I did however, see my credit card information on the salespersons worksheet and pointed it out. He stated: "We didn't take your money so we have no obligation." Throughout this horrifying conversation which was loud, in the dealership, door wide open. He further went on to tell me, after I said I would walk out, the following: " Well then its better we don't do this deal we don't like unhappy customers." I told him he was disrespectful and unprofessional. He stated: " I am the most professional person I know." and he walked out the door. I almost left but I said NO WAY! Since Route 44 Hyundai told me they couldn't come close to that deal and their General Manager told me to buy the car I was not going to loose. I asked the cashier to speak with or make an appointment to speak with the owner Rick Torres. Since he wasn't there she could only give me to the Sales Manager Jerry Sandler, he apologized profusely, but more importantly he did the deal. The General Manager came in later that morning and also apologized profusely. But Eric Moura did not. Not surprised he clearly thinks he is the greatest gift to mankind. I feel bad for him he is a miserable human being. I got my car! I am not done! I just called Hyundai's main office and filed a formal complaint against Eric Moura. Maybe nothing will happen but I felt confident follow through is more apt to take place if you take your complaint out of the small box of the dealership and to the parent corporation. In the end it is dollars and sense for Hyundai, but a body is a body. They don't care who is making the money as long as they are making it. I got the car, I got the $5, 000.00 trade on my bucket of bolts, I am happy with the car and I can go anywhere I want for service after I take advantage of my free, $1, 000.00 mile check, 2 LOF's and tire rotation. This all took place in 24 hours. So I didn't loose much of my time and it is over. You decide but walking out wouldn't have gotten me what I wanted and it made me smile when I knew he didn't get what he wanted. Now I wait, the power of an unhappy consumer is great especially in social media. Stop, think, and go to Hyundai directly with your complaints.

Empire Hyundai charged too much for service

I brought my 350 xg hyundai in for a noise I heard in the engine area. They called a few hours later and said all the tensioner belts needed to be replaced, and the power steering pump, then the manager told me I should have the timing belt replaced. He used the word catastrophic. My car is 7 years old but only has 33, 000 miles. I debated about the timing belt, he said it would be $800.00. I called back because he scared me with what might happen if I didn't do it. The total was $1816.00 . I asked to see the old parts. The timing belt looked new to me, as did the other belts. The power steering pump looked fine, nothing looked rusty or cracked. My power steering was fine. I had a small noise when I started the car. Naturally none of this was covered by the warranty. The next day I called them to say I forgot to use my coupon for $50. off service. They would not honor it, saying the paperwork was done and they couldn't open the account. Bull. I called another dealership they said they did that all the time. The prices for parts and service did not match up either. Fall river was much more expensive. They charged me labor for removing all the belts when they had to remove them anyway to get to the timing belt. They are ripping people off with big smiles on their faces. I called headquarters and they said they would call the dealership on Monday to ask about the coupon, but all these dealerships are independently owned, they do what they want, they charge what they want, so do yourself a favor and check around before getting any service done.

Empire Hyundai Shysterville

Buying a car from Empire Hyundai is a unique experience. (Ours took place the last week of September.) First you find a car that interests you and then the salesperson has you take them for a ride. During this event (while you’re trying to pay attention to traffic) the salesperson regales you with a litany of all of the "special" features that the car has (in his mind) such as things like: Bluetooth technology, an oil condition monitoring system which tells you when the oil actually needs to be replaced. (yada yada yada) Your told that the windows are all etched with the VIN#, The car comes with wheel insurance (incase you damage a wheel /tire via a pothole/curb) they will replace the wheel/tire free of charge. Because the vehicle was used (3000 mi) We asked “does the car come with a factory warranty, we were assured that it did. When doing the paper work, we noticed a $1, 245.00 charge and questioned it only to fine out it is to have the windows etched, we declined this option (and had it done a week later for $10.00 dollars at the fire ststion in our town.) a new set of papers were printed out and there was another $1245.00 charge and when we questioned it we were told that is for the wheel insurance program. We also declined this option. A new set of papers were again printed up and displayed a $3, 000 charge, when questioned, we were told that that its for the 5 yr/60, 000 mi warranty, we asked about “the factory and was told that its a 5yr/60, 000 mi warranty. I asked how much to extend the Warrant to 100, 000 miles and was told $300.00. We believed that we were discussing the “factory warranty” because no other warranty had been discussed. Last but not least, the vehicle came with one key and one remote. I was told that the keys can only be purchased in sets of three for $158.00 and the remote $165.00 with programming all totaled out to $515.00. we declined .
I contacted other dealerships and found that the keys are usually sold in sets of three. (These are “laser cut” keys, Actually they are cut on a milling machine in stead of a grinder.) the blanks cost approximately $29.00 each and can be taken by you to a locksmith who does (laser cuts) and can be returned for programming to your vehicle (note: some locksmiths can actually program the keys themselves), the remote cost me $135.00 at Pride Hyundai and I found that Pride charges about $45.00 to program the one item or the three keys and two remotes.
I checked with AAA regarding the purchase of a warranty for the car and was told that it was covered by a 5/60 factory warranty and therefore I didn’t need to purchase one. I explained that the factory warranty cost me $3300.00 and he suggested I contact Hyundai USA and gave me the number. I called and after a brief discussion, Hyundai USA placed me on hold called Empire and came back to tell me the warranty they sold me was an aftermarket warranty. I asked why on earth anyone would want to buy a piggy back warranty that has the same coverage and is only used after the original warranty runs out. I was told that no one would. We discussed empires deceptive practices regarding their blatant lies, mistruths and half truths. The Hyundai USA representative has lodges a complaint with their office on my behalf. I was given the name of the “manager who had spoken with Hyundai USA and am in the process of getting a full warranty refund. Empire also promised a new key which I was again told costs $500.00 and after giving him a “yeah right” look, he stated that it was between 3 to 500 I guess he is right if the “3” is $3.00. If any of you have not already contacted Hyundai USA please do so. They do not want their product and image destroyed by shysters.

Empire Hyundai Harassing Phone Calls

Don't ever give Empire Hyundai your phone number. I can't recall why I did and I am kind of surprise with my self as I usually don't. These people will call you once a day, every day including weekends. Mandy is the one that calls me. She has a relationship with my voicemail or something. Leave me alone Empire hyundai i dont care about your car sales!

if you give your number to someone, especially when business is involved, of course they are going to call you! have you ever thought " hey im not interested but thanks for calling" thats all it takes, what ever happened to common courtsey, again the only reason you are getting phone calls is because YOU gave them your number DUH!

Empire Hyundai in Fall River is the wrong place to go for buying a new or a used vehicle based on my experience. What kind of tricks and tactics did they try on me? 1) Bait and Switch (I wanted one model with Standard transmission which was NOT a Fleet Vehicle and they showed me another model with Automatic which CarFax showed was a former rental.) 2) I told them that I already had a finance deal at X% and not to submit my credit app unless they could beat it. (They came back with X+3.5% and ran a credit report again anyway.) 3) Then to show me the alleged value of this used rental car they somehow fudged the year, the miles and the features to come up with a faked out value almost equal to the showroom new value with zero miles by using Kelly Blue Book's website. All they showed me was the final figure without showing me the assumptions they used. Then the finance manager wanted me to sign the deal while holding his hand over the purchase price and the interest rate and trying to get me to accept 'Instant Delivery' while waiving all Rights of Recission after Instant Delivery. When I asked him what that meant, he mumbled something like: "Oh, that just means you get to drive the car out tonight, but if you don't like it for any reason, we take it right back again within 3 days, no questions asked." What a bunch of sleaze balls.

STAY AWAY! COMPLETE LIARS!

I decided to give this place a shot despite the negative reviews, as they were one of the few dealerships in the area offering what I was looking for - a manual transmission certified pre-owned Accent.

After confirming availability and price (including that there would be no hidden fees or anything) via email, I requested pictures as they indicated that the car had just come onto the lot, so they hadn't put any online yet. They took a few pictures of the exterior and sent them to me, and everything seemed fine.

The issues came when I showed up on the lot. After calling a few hours after the email to make sure it was still there for me to look at, I made the drive and was referred to a salesman by the internet representative. First the salesman asks what I wanted to pay, and after being told that I had already confirmed the price he tells me "we'll see if we can get there". I should have left right then, but decided to play ball a little. I already made the trip Out there, so I might as well look. I told him I didn't want to discuss price any further, as I hadn't even seen the car yet.

He goes to get the car, and a couple minutes later another salesman calls me outside. Based on the pictures I was given, I should have been looking at a dark blue sedan - but they brought out a light blue hatchback. I look inside, and it's an automatic. I let them know, and one person goes to track down the right car by the stock number, while the other one leads me around the lot where we find the exact car that the internet rep sent me pictures of - another automatic.

Not only did they not have the car I was there to see, they did not have a single pre-owned manual transmission anywhere on the lot. Instead, four different salesmen tried to convince me that I should just buy an automatic. I left after being told they'd call me the next day when they look on their other lot. Four days later and they still haven't called.

Bottom line, they flat out lied to me in order to get me onto the lot, thinking that I would buy whatever they put in front of me. If they're willing to lie just to bring you in, what else are they willing to lie about?

Stay far away from these shady people.

I went there my credit was shaky, , I had 2k deposit an needed another 2 k so i wrote 2 checks an then took it home they waited a few weeks to cash them, Left with 2009 Chrysler 300 my wife love it..We t could not get her financed for that amount .so they traded a old car we had .and the deal went through. they turn the rotors at service we went shopping came back 4 hours later done, someone wash the car and left to this day we still have it an ready to trade it.are credit is better now an car we owe less 3k, so we feel it will be fine, I am not from the dealership, i live in woonsocket r, i, ..half the problems was us credit an down payment, Yes there like Jersey shore or whatever u think they are..But all an all They are in business to make money as well as all dealerships.Its up to you to decide buy to there no strong arm tactics, , also salesmen have families also to feed., , , , , , , Also if the salesman or manger is wearing a cheap suit..There not making money or they have a expensive suit like you...sorry but its how i feel

I agree that Empire Hyundai is terrible. I also went to the dealership after speaking on the phone to Mandy three times to determine that the newspaper advertised vehicle was, in fact, available. Three separate times I was assured that the vehicle was there. So off I go on a 45 minute drive only to find that they did not have the car I wanted and they tried to up sell me by $10, 000. I did report this to the Mass AG's office and found little help. I guess it is legal in Mass. to lie, cheat and bait and switch. Do not go to this dealership. Also, Peter Brockman must either work at Empire Hyundai or have a relative that does. I can't think of any other reason to say anything nice about them.

I worked at this ### dealership it's not the salesperson fault. It's not the managers fault. Rick Torres is all to blame. If his managers or salespersonel don't do as thier told, they will be fired. The morning meeting prep all the sales staff to rip you off. Salespeople get paid 25 percent of the commission. While Rick takes the 75 percent. I heard threw the grape vine Rick Torres was taken out in handcuffs by the FBI. So gather your complaints and get in line. As for you Rick. Pride comes before the fall. You have hurt many mentally, Physically. Tore families apart with no worries while you slept in your bed soundly. I guess money is your God. You have a wicked heart and proved so to many people. People stand up and unite against such evil people. Now it's time for Rick to come clean. My story will be heard. I have the nail for your coffin.

I didn't think empire was a good place to buy a car. But when I found what I was looking for for a price I thought
to good to be true I looked up this site. Well I guess I was right. When I called about the car I saw on the web site the salesman I spoke to sounded like a real sparkone. He tried to commit me to a time to come in like a hungree dog.
Thanks to all who posted. I'll be going somewhere else.

I'm normally very careful to research things, I'm used to bargaining with traders abroad, etc. I knew exactly what I wanted and went to a nearby Hyundai dealer.. who didn't quite have it and didn't offer to get it. So I went to Empire without having researched THEM. The car, they had, exactly what I wanted but WOW! They have a sticker on the window next to the required one with MSRP, raising the price by $5000. THEN they added on tire and wheel protection, whatever that is, for $2000, and an extended warranty (I understood the finance guy to say that I was signing to say I did NOT want it), for $3000. It was late in the day and I was tired, and I signed things I didn't read carefully. The next day I researched the dealership, and who to contact to complain formally (the Mass. Attorney General's consumer protection agency). The Hyundai customer satisfaction guy said they could do nothing, that the dealers were independent agents. I showed them a printout from another dealer I'd contacted on the internet, who had told me that their extended warranty was $1995 and the tire thing $795.
Today I went down and loudly complained to the manager and the finance guy. They steered me into the office, and I was very aggressive and said I wanted those both cancelled. I also asked about the $4000 overage on the price and they said they could charge whatever they wanted (!) - true! Finally they said, okay, we'll cancel the tire protection and the extended warranty. Pulled out a cancellation paper and I signed it. They said it will take 4-8 weeks.. we'll see. If this is NOT resolved, I am NOT going to be silent. I WILL file a formal complaint.

I'm not sure how they stay in business because I have had the EMPIRE HYUNDAI customer experience just recently and all I can say is what a waste of a nice day.
Just to summarize... I was looking at a car that had an MSRP of apx 23K ( manufactures web site ). Now I understand that MSRP is a suggested retail price.
So we go through all of teh fun sales pitches and get down to business. They put a paper in front of me that saying thier price is 28K
1. no idea where they got that from...not even close
2. guess what they offered for a trade in? Yup 5K...wow, what a coincidence...the same amount that they marked up the MSRP on the car
So basically they would nto budge on the price...and wanted to give me $0 for my trade in.
I didn't experience rudeness, per say. They are just shady as heck there. Do yourself a favor, go somewhere else.
Oh one more commical thing. We called another dealer and mentioned that we were looking for that same car at the MSRP adn told them we had an experience with another dealer adn explained the situation. The sales person on the phone said " Let me guess...you wen to Empire in Fall River "

Empire Hyundai. It looks legit, then pulls the classic bait and switch scam. Report any incidents to Consumer Affairs, I recommend it.

Empire hyundai is the worst dealership ever starting with the looser owner rick torres and all of his employes they screwed me so bad that i cant get out my car i have now becouse they buried me fat joe in finance was so mean and rude he added all kinds of warrenties that i never agreed on i found out 30 days later after it was to late to cancel them my sales person Brad simous is a no good piece of _ _ _ _ said evrything i wanted to hear and than i never heard from him again i hope he bought tooth paste with the money he made on me cuz he needs it...PLEASE PEOPLE STAY AWAY FROM RICK TORRES EMPIRE HYUNDAI LIARS LIARS THIEVES

I am sooooo glad I looked at this webpage before I even looked at Empire Hyundai's website! Thank you all for sharing this extremely useful information. Caution with any dealer offering $5000 push, pull, or tow your trade. We were screwed by First Hyundai on that one, they didn't give us a penny for our trade because they just tacked the 5k we owed on the trade to the price. Hyundai's are great vehicles, but the dealers are ###. Try Hyundai of Newport, my colleague has said good things about them.
