250 schools in the area have closed and I still have to go? Im not risking my life. I don't understand why its so hard. Your putting us in danger. Its a winter storm that you can barely see in, like I said 250 schools have closed... What more does it take for you to close the school? Its not fair. And this has happened before too and there was only 2 students that showed up that time. So again I say.. What does it take?

My daughter recently graduated from Empire in Lancaster. A few days after graduation she went to Harrisburg to take the license exam and passed. Two days after passing, Empire called and told her they were holding her graduation status and her certificate until she paid a $383.00 balance that was miscalculated! I, her mom, made all of her payments on time and they wait until after graduation and she passes the license test to tell her they will not give it to her. This is ridiculous and poor business practices. Additionally, the entire time she attended school there, they were constantly giving her a difficult time over petty things while the same things were occurring by other students but overlooked.

I feel this is an attempt for Empire to bully my daughter, the same way they did when she was going to school there. She worked very hard to complete school under great adversity and worked hard to obtain her license for incompetent individuals to say she is not graduating. This is a rip off and poor business. I want this balance to be overturned and her graduation and license to be given to her.

So, I go to the one on Glen Burnie off of Richie Hwy. Our facilities are SO dirty. The sinks are CONSTANTLY clogged. Bathrooms are dirty with stains on the floor and stuff on the walls. The break room is a constant tornado. We have a cleaning guy come in every night who ONLY sweeps. But he ONLY sweeps SOME of it. Then we are always out of products. We have very little color to choose from which, is outrageous for a hair school. Our styling products are low all the time and seem to be out of most of it. We never have conditioner and when we do its ONE BOTTLE. As far as instructors, some are amazing. Its a hit and miss depending on the kind of person you are. But one teacher named Ms. Carla. She is a presalon teacher and she is always talking trash about some students and bullying them and making fun of them. I know some people who have QUIT or wanted to quit because of her. One girl was trying to leave when Ms. Carla followed her and yelled at her outside! I am so glad I don't go to this school any more. Totally ridiculous.

Hello, my name is Danielle Wallace and i m a former student at empire, i was officially terminated on Friday January 5th 2018. My termination was due to my attendance. I do agree my attendance was poor but about two weeks prior to my termination i was warned about my attendance and started taking responsibility and started coming to school regularly. For about a week it lasted until i got into an altercation with a younger student at Empire beauty school because she was insulting me because of my living arrangments and how i was raised. My director immediately suspended both of us for three days. She didnt accommodate ANYTHING. Even after the suspension she still did not ask any question about what cause the argument! I feel like my education was sabotaged and i was being bullied and my director neglected the fact that the girl wants to fight me. So i didnt come to school the next day after suspension because the girl wanted to fight and i heard she had brought people to help fight me. (Her mom and sister). I came to school on Tuesday morning (no school for christmas Monday) and tried to clock in. I went to my director who is not always available for help. And asked about it. She told me i had been terminated and i cant make an appeal, that i wasnt going to be able to get to 75 percent attendance in time for my next module (I was at 64 percent, i was doing good until that altercation) when i couldve continued going to school if someone wasnt trying to fight me. If this can be a law suit id like to sue. I feel like i was cheated out of my education.

I came in today 12/28/2017 at 12:00 pm to get a treatment(Deep Conditioning treatment) for my hair. I also had tracks put in with that but I only brought 3 Tracks with me. I was charged $84.00 for this. This is a huge amount of money for a senior citizen to payment for just a treatment and hair tracks added. The lady who added my transaction up at the end was very disrespectful and not courtesy at all towards me. She did not explain to me that I would be charged for bringing my own tracks in. I finished at 1:24pm. I would like a partial refund of my $84.00 I paid to the Empire School. The lady who ranged my hair style up was very rude to me, she did not say thank you or anything to me. She just kept rolling her eyes. And I paid too much money for just 4 tracks. I have come to this school before and couldn't get waited on because there were too many people. But I will never come back again because of the way I was treated with no respect at all. The music played in the school was very loud.

Ok so I went to the school for 2weeks I was happy to be there and everything one of the few that came out together and trying to stay drama free first off I'm 23 socially awkward && normally quite. But I came with a new mind set I wanted this so I was like I'm going to be great. Gets there my second week on a wensday and that's when I saw the cliques. It was 3 girls 2 administrators against me no fighting just them bashing me mind you hasn't even Been a full 2 weeks smh they called the police on me banned me from the school of course the others girls stayed they was seniors smh and to top it all of they are trying to steal my money won't answer my calls so I can find out why my loans are still active left several voicemails to the president of the company and of course she hasn't called back yet it's terrible don't go here they for cliques and try there best for you to drop the classes not to mention steal your money. The instructors at the school are treating the students unfair an causing them to drop or transfer from the school, there has been numerous occasions where the instructors are being unfair to the students they disrespect students an it's just unfair . They use their power as the instructor to their advantages and Miss use it There's a lot of billing, side taking, the school seems pretty segregated and disfunctional a lot of negative energy.

Where in the paperwork for empire does it state that your admission can suspend a student? Also how can a person be suspended because an educator lost your things and did not care to find the missing items, but can lie to administrators about what happened and administration not even speak to other classmates and witnesses before taking action against a student.

The administrator that runs your Winston Nc location is very pushy and couldn't understand the fact that I could not leave work to do paper work on multiple occasions. And I feel that if she would of Don it right the first time instead of rushing me I wouldnt have had to had her call me at work and harass me. I am a single mother raising three kids on $300 a week and any work that is missed is critical to our survival.

I asked for a gray blending service and was charged for a full hair color. Nothing was explained to me that it would be more. I called a manager and was told that she would look into it and get back to me. She had stated that her mother was sick and that it could take a day or two. Almost a week passed and I called back and got her voicemail and left a message. It has been several weeks and I have not heard anything. This was in Lebanon PA.

The north tryon location in charlotte nc needs to shut down for good.. I attended the school in 2015 and it was reckless fights everyday, drug selling, just everything bad under the table. I started under false pretence the director ms. Parkman told me everything changed and it was all the same. I tried to stay positive during the schooling but it was the hardest.. The students run that location the students say what they are and are not going to do... Ms. Parkman was never there due to family issues, but actually like she didn't understand that I was having family issues as well... She threatened to drop me before asking me if I needed help with anything... She was very unprofessional.. Girls would need information and papers for verification of being in school and she would tell teachers not to print them off... I just feel with me being gone for 5 years and having such a horrible experience the first time I would give it a try again and it was worse the second time around... I missed days because of my father kidney issues... I have papers showing where I was when he had surgery I wrote letters.. And still got dropped.. But the funny part is I got dropped before my evaluation... I asked if I could take a leave of absence before I got dropped and no one helped me out with that... That school is falling apart every other week someone is coming to fix something.. They had us in the building while stripping the floors with all those chemicals in the air... A girl even passed out and the ambulance had to come... I don't know about the other charlotte locations but I do know that north tryon is not a good example of what empire stands for... And it's crazy that I asked for help asked what I should do and I still got dropped I will not stop here I will go further and make sure my voice and all the other girls voice in that location is heard... It's crazy that I have to pay all this money and can't get the right education that I need because teachers are making sure the trouble makers are being good for company so it leaves the ones that are doing work looking crazy... When we actually need help with something or really want to learn... They don't even know what's going on students outside drinking going to the abc (Liquor) store on their 10 min breaks and teachers have to know people are in that building drunk working on clients

I attended Empire Beauty School- Malden in the fall of 2015. During my time there, it was horrible. I got my kit, it had items missing that instead of being supplied I was just told to purchase on my own. The bag the kit came in fell apart in less than 2 months. Next came the teachers, I had 3 teachers before I went on the salon floor. I was retaught the same lessons over and over because the next teacher thought the previous didn't teach it correctly or the teacher focused on one thing well into the time we were supposed to be learning another topic because she "felt" it was the most important thing to learn, even though it wasn't even on the state board. Then when I got the floor, i had no idea I was doing since I wasn't taught anything correctly. Honestly, the school receptionist taught me more than any of the teachers did. The rules put down at the beginning were broken. No one was disciplined. The cost to attend is nowhere near worth the education I received. I want a refund.

The director Marita is very unprofessional and ignorant. She constantly divulges private info to students which is none of their business. Especially about why employees are fired and what they do on personal time. Also she seems to be very vindictive to the freshman teacher Sandy. She does NOT know how to talk to people at all... She's NOT a people person. She has been heard having nasty tone of voice to customers because she overtalks people hunks she is always right. Something needs to be done especially with her always picking with the teacher who has 28 years experience and is an excellent instructor.. I am an old student and it's a shame that Sandy is always ridiculed.

I am a student at the Springfield campus and since I've came to this school my teacher have been talking about her students getting pregnant, crip walking, talking about cocaine, talking about a previous student that was caught stealing, I actually recorded a video on my phone of makeup I did on myself and in the background you can hear her saying bend it over buss it open etc. I honestly feel as though my $20, 000 should not be invested in a teacher that just started this September and is unprofessional. My administration also fail to tell us things we should know atleast during our orientation for example we have to go through a process of getting medical files and etc just to be able to get a paper test in this school and I wear glasses so unfortunately today I lost my glasses and we have a test, my eye sight is very bad and would I have known from the beginning that I had to go through a whole process on getting a paper test I would have done so, so now my teacher and my administrator is failing me for the curriculum because I can not see the projection screen to take my test. This school is run very sloppy . The admin is more concerned about getting money than letting their students know things they should. Another example, now quote me if I'm wrong, if you are a student or student teacher and you work in a salon you're suppose to get a percentage off of your tuition, now my administrator tells us they were not suppose to say anything to us about that so what else is empire withholding from their students and student teachers that are paying 20, 000 to go and get their license

The unprofessionalism that was displayed by the manager and students are deplorable. I had a student who didn't want to do my hair switch my schedule and then after sitting wa during over 30 min I was called in the office to talk to the manager who was condescending and rude. She danced around the topic and then when I asked what is the reason she said well maybe it's time to find a hairdresser. I let her know I had one but chose to come there for the convience and she said that it was said I had an attitude which I never had and even today after waiting over 30 min I didn't just wondered what the delay was. She accused me if possibly looking at my watch and stressing the student out. I denied it as I don't even wear a watch nor was in a rush I left not getting my hair done and being told by another student that the other student lied on me deliberately so she could get out on time. The secretary confirmed the lie that was told about me but I know there was nothing that could be done. I will never support or referthat place ever again.

Hi my name is Heidi and I was a first time costumer at Empire beauty school in Savannah​ ga . I called Tuesday April 11 and made and appointment with a student that didn't even know how to answer a phone properly .I had to ask if this was empire beauty school, she didn't even go over the fact that I needed a patch test to start with . So the next day in April 12 I came in and they told me I needed patch test and I set my appointment again for 10 a.m. So I come in again on April 13 and they didn't even have my appointment and I guess apparently the the resptionist makes all these verbal appointments and doesn't​ bother to let other people know or put it in the computer. Also I had to wait an extra hour before I was seen . Then I finally get to the chair and the teacher finds a small small scab on my head then tells me I can't be seen today at all and I have to do some test . I told her that they could work around that spot, but they refused and tryed to give me a 10 off card . I then threw my smock on the floor and walked out of there. I just feel alot of my time was waisted and that corporate should really make a surprise visit just to see how they run things at this location.

The empire beauty school inareading pa . Cause problems for families and children alike. They have race issues with clients a young ethnic girl with beautiful weaves and braids about 12 years old . She'd had some tangles after getting them out and losing some hair. They made trouble for the family with youth services . It was straightened out but the father and mother who have health issues . Made them worse. Then think about the poor child feeling scared and traumatized about going to get her hair done for now on . The staff should be reported to the Xoom pant or authorities for ripping that girls hair out and there rude comments about about race

First off let me just say that beauty is different from one person to the next. Second, I want to say that favoritism is one of the bigger objectives in this school. Now for the topping to the cake, I have to say that I do not have book smarts but when it comes to common sense and street smarts I am on the A game. So I can catch little hints or gestures that tell me I am not liked by people because I am categorized in the "very different" group. I have to say that every staff member at this school are rude and bias. Today topped it all off as a friend of mine and myself had asked to wax my eyebrows, teacher said ok not a problem but first check the towels. We checked the towels and dryers had 30 minutes left and washer had 38 minutes left. Straight to waxing after checking the towels, took maybe 20 minutes, the teacher said ok check them before going to lunch. We checked again before lunch still were not finished so we had went to lunch at 12:16 clocked out. Came back in at 12:46 clocked in and the director asked us when we went to lunch, told her the exact time. Go back down to the salon floor where every student just about had clients. The teacher looked at us and raised her voice and said she was very disappointed in both of us because we did not do what she had asked, and to never ask her for another favor. All the clients and students heard this on the floor, my friend already has anxiety issues. We pay all this money to go to school for what? To get treated like garbage and talked down too? I'm sorry but we work our butts off to make the clients happy and so the staff can get a paycheck, I do believe that they are human as we are and that none of us deserve to be treated that way. Very upset with the situation, and not only that but why do they get away with that type of abuse and if we as students would get smart and do something like that we would be kicked out of school.
