Frigidaire - worst appliances on the planet

Who is the CEO of Frigidaire? He should be ashamed of himself, to allow these products on the market! I bought a newly renovated place, and the sellers had put in all new frigidaire appliances. THANK GOD I paid the extended warranties. I am on a first-name basis with the repair guys, and I have all their cell phone numbers. I have this recurrent dream that...

Frigidaire manufacturer's defect

In September of 2008, I bought a Frigidaire cooktop. After using it several times I took the drip pans off to clean them and noticed that the paint underneath had chipped. I then noticed that the drip pans on the bottom had not been finished in the manufacturing process. We went back to the store and looked at the store model and the drip pans and the finish were the same on both sides. The book that came with the cooktop says to clean it with soap and water and a paper towel. But since it was never finished properly it is hard to get food off of it. The burner grates also have the paint coming off because they weren't finished right. Even on the bottom of one of the drip pans you can see four fingerprints where someone in the manufacturing process grabbed the unfinished drip pan.

I contacted the company and they said it was a cosmetic issue and is not covered. I disagreed because it is a flaw in the manufacturing process not something I did to the unit. They gave me a list of three appliance repair companies and said that if I called ONE of them and they came out and agreed that it was a manufacturer's issue that they would replace the cooktop. So I took time off from work and had a repairman come out. He totally agreed with me and said it was a flaw in the manufacturing process and that the drip pans and the rest of the unit had not been finished correctly. He said he would replace it, but then called Frigidaire to report what he found and a technical person said it was cosmetic and not covered. The repairman said he couldn't do anything for me. I then called Frigidaire customer care, which is a joke, and was told to get a second opinion. I find it funny that they don't believe the first appliance repair company that they sent me to. I didn't pick this repair company, they did. I said that I now have to take time off from work AGAIN to have a second repair company come out to tell me the same thing and then what, Frigidaire will dispute that too.

I can't believe that Frigidaire won't back up the manufacturing of its products. I think they are trying to give me the run around so I'll just give up. Not going to happen. This is a manufacturer's defect, said so by the repair company not just me, and not a cosmetic issue. I called the second repair company and told them what happened and they couldn't believe that Frigidaire wouldn't believe the repair company. Customer service, where has it gone? I bought what I thought was a great brand name and now I think Frigidaire's brand is flawed as badly as its merchandise. Beware if you buy a Frigidaire product, get ready to go down this long and frustrating road.

I have a Frigidaire Gallery refrigerator that has had issues since it was about 6 months old. The units ice production was very slow for several months and them began to freeze up and completely stopped working. When I was finally able to get help from Frigidaire/Electrolux they sent me nothing more than a piece of insulation (about 2.5 inches thick) that I did have installed by a professional tech. My "now" major issue is that I purchased this refrigerator 'only" because of its counter depth feature - to fit cleanly with the $25, 000 worth of kitchen cabinets I put in. NOW- my once counter depth refrigerator is no longer counter depth and looks horrible. Frigidaire/Electrolux has told me that they are not willing to do anything else and that I had to deal with it - poor customer service - wouldn't allow me to talk to a supervisor either. The difference in the cost of the counter depth refrigerator vs. non-counter depth is significant - all I want is what I paid for. Very disappointed after spending over $5, 000 on appliances. Have had Frigidaire in the past with no issues but will never purchase from Frigidaire or Electrolux again - and will do my research to make sure I do not buy any appliance affiliated with them. Chris Polk is fictitious -

We had the same problem with out stovetop - the tops of the racks were finished but not the bottom. The first time we tried cleaning it, the bottoms were already rusty. From your experience, I guess the lesson for me is not to bother having someone come look at it and asking Frigidaire to replace them. This is our first home and thus first experience with appliances. Both the frigidaire products we have (a heat pump, also) are very poor quality and are prone to all sorts of issues. My husband and I both have a lot of brand loyalty if something works well. This is, unfortunately, not one of the companies we'll be purchasing from again!

Frigidaire bad bad quality and service

I bought a Frigidair, the worst buy ever !
After only 3 months a part of the motor burned, after one year I start notice some dark pots on the varnish, the second year the spots were bigger and bigger, so I called the company.
Firs I've been told to call other departments, which I did, finally after several calls I found someone that was suppose to give me some answer. He asked me if I had dogs... ! ? Funny question I thought, and then he wrote me on a email that maybe my dog might be pissing on the fridge ... weird idea, beside the fact that no dog can pee 9 feet high. I've been trying to have someone giving me an answer including
Mr. kenneth.[protected]@electrolux.com which was the person supposed to analyze what the problem was I tried from December 2007 until March 2008, and than it was clear enough that they had no intention to give me an answer, or respond of such a bad bad product.
Then to a certain point it wasn't cooling anymore and for 3 times I had to throw everything away, because everything in the freezer was defrosted, including lobster and other expensive food. That was the sensor that gives the command to defrost when there is too much ice on the radiator.
A while after the door was falling off, fortunately I'm good in fixing stuff, and I did.
Now after only 3 years the fridge is all rusted with big spots. I have a very nice house, and this junk in the kitchen looks very bad, and when I have someone visiting I feel ashamed.
So now I'll have to change it... But if you planning to buy a fridge don't buy Electolux Frigidaire, never.

I purchased a Frigidaire upright freezer in Aug. 2008. My previous freezer (Sears Coldspot) died at 40 yrs. of age, and it never had any problems. On Apr 06, 2009 the new freezer stopped working. Ever since I have been getting the run around from Electrolux. I have called them every day. I get someone in a foreign country, and it is difficult to understand them due to their accents. Each time they ask for the same info that I have already given them, even though I also give them my "reference" number. After several days they called to tell me that someone will be out to look at it on Apr 14. I ask my work to have off that day. On Apr 13, I called Electrolux to get the name and number of the repair place, so I can find out what time they are coming. I called the place and they have no record of it. They said Electrolux normally faxes the info to them and they had not received anything. I once again called Electrolux. In her thick accent, the woman replied, "ma'am, we don't send faxes." We went back and forth about this for a few minutes, she told me to call them back the next day. I told her that I had been calling them for the past week, and they needed to straighten this out and call me back. The lady said they would call me the next day ( Apr 14). As of 1000am Apr 14, I had not heard from Electrolux. I tried calling them and reached a recording telling me that they were experiencing technical difficulties and to call back in 4 hours! This is ridiculous. As of today, Apr 15, Electrolux still has not called. What kind of customer service is this? I purchased a freezer at a local store yet when problems arise, I have to deal with people in foreign countries who don't know what they are doing. It is now almost two weeks later, I am left with a broken 8 month old freezer and loss of food, and Electrolux is absolutely no help at all. I will never purchase any of their products again. I honestly believe that today, things are not made to last. They are made cheaply, so that they breakdown and you have to buy a new one, so the big, impersonal companies can fill their pockets with your hard-earned money.

Frigidaire - front load washer poorly engineered.

This is the worst company and product I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. It started with installation 7 years ago. Mounting the dryer on top was a challenge because the mounting brackets and slots in the dryer were about 2" off. It is still like this on the new units 7 years later! Does anyone work in the engineering department? I bought thi...

Frigidaire unreliable junk

I bought a beautiful stainless refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and stove unit thinking I was getting better than cheap junk. I was wrong. The refrigerator door dispensor electronics went bad the first day home! Lowe's swapped it out for me. Then the thing sprung a leak and put water all over my floor. That was fixed. Then the electronics went out and spoiled my food. That was fixed. Then something else went wrong (too many problems, I can't remember the fourth!) I asked to have the lemon replaced and they refused. Then my range oven started dripping betwen the glass. You have to disassemble the door to fix it, and it is back within a week. Then my microwave turntable and wave generator went bad. I repaired that. Then the high voltage power supply and the reflector went bad. The store that fixed it said they dropped the brand because they didn't want to lose customers. Don't buy a Frigidaire. It is not even made by Frigidaire.

Frigidaire flush mount dishwasher ruins cabinets

I bought a frigidaire flush mount dishwasher only to find that steam escapes from the sides of the machine which ruined my cabinets — it bubbled up the finish (They were from ikea — the kind that are wrapped in a plasticy coating) and it cracked off.

The worse part was actually dealing with frigidaire/electrolux customer service. I spoke with them 6 -10 times (Often waiting for long periods) over a period of 6 months or so and each time they had no record of my previous calls. We had 4 service calls. Finally after reaching an actual manager and threatening a law suit they replace the unit.

Guess what?... Same problem. They will not refund nor will the dealer.

Frigidaire fraudulent grants in your name

My 18yr old daughter recieved a letter in the mail, supposidly endorced my electrolux. This is a mail scam, they send a check for 3, 950.30 to their victim. Staating they have won a grant,, that the victims name was drawn and a random drawing for a purchase they made a year ago, the victim then calls a phone no. And is given directions to deposit the check and send an individual, 1950.00 via money gram or western union. This is a scam. I am letting you know that theodre reece @ 10401 foster ave, brooklyn ny 11236, is using your name to rip people off for thousands of dollers. My daughter is unemployed and in deep financial straits as is the rest of my family, this hurt her so deeply, she really thought she was going to be a big help to us financially, I am just glad I stopped to have her investigate this matter before she got scammed.

Frigidaire replacement

After purchasing a compact fridge for college on 8/9/08 we found that the freezer door was broken when moving in. I moved in on the 24 and I called after that weekend to get it fixed. Well after trying very hard to understand the representative I was given a reference number and a dealer to call to have my fridge fixed. After calling a setting up an appointment and awaiting 2 weeks and nice repair man came from Jake's Appliance and took a look at my problem. Which was a broken door that was causing everything to freeze. He said that they would order a part and get it in here and repair my fridge. A month and a half later I called the appliance place back to be told that my part wasnt in but will be rush delivered and I would have a fixed fridge in no time. Well a week later I called asking about it and I was told that they dont repair compact fridges after the women called frigidaire and was told that. Well after calling back with my new reference numer frigidaire was still completely unhelpful and is still giving me the run around. Now they are saying that I need to get in touch Lowes after they never told me that in the beginning and they never told me that the mini fridge is an automatic replacement. Well Luckily three months later and it's cold now so who needs a working fridge. Well still no help so here is a tip to all "DO NOT BUY FRIGIDAIRE products..there quality and customer service SUCK!"

Frigidaire rip off

Frigidaire does not honor their mail in rebate program. I purchased a kitchen full of appliances and qualified for a $250 rebate. I got a check for $25. What makes the whole situation maddening however is that there is no easy way to contact them in order to press them. They have consumers use a snail mail address for correspondence. There are are email or phone numbers. My snail mail got usually got ignored and when it didn't it took weeks to get response that offered no closure.

Hopefully this will discourage people from buying some Frigidaire products and teach them a lesson...

Frigidaire poor product / poor guarantee

My dryer, barely used, almost burnt my house down. I went downstairs one day and noticed a burnt smell and tracked it to the dryer which was not being used. But, the body of the dryer was smoking hot. After unplugging the dryer, I let it cool down and tore it apart to test it, because it was just over the one year warrenty. I found the element was on even though the main controls were off ! I called several reapair shops and was qouted around $200.00 for the service trip and parts. Well the part alone was $160.00. I emailed the Canadian Factory rep, told them the issue with a barely used unit and they basically told me too bad so sad, go get it fixed ! No help, no concern, did not give a dam about product quality. I guess they felt they had our money already so why bother. Well, I struck back. I went out and bought a LG dryer from Home Depot. Never again will I support this company. And just think about all the bad advertising they are going to get, rather than helping a customer out. Their call, they can live with it.

The Electrolux Front Loader Washing Machine (EIFLS60LSS0) purchased in 2013 is destroying my clothes.
It rips towels, and causes pilling on my clothes. They look old and worn. I have resorted to hand washing clothes
that I don't want destroyed.. The Electrolux Company is unable to help me resolve the issue. They will only pay for parts replacement but won't diagnosis the parts that need to be replaced. BYERS BEWARE. I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND NIT BUYING AN ELECTROLUX FRONT LOADER WASHING MACHINE.

Frigidaire bad product

A motor failure in a front-loading, heavy-duty, water-efficient Frigidaire washer (model 417.440842) triggered the failure of both the motor and main control boards according to a qualified service person. Two service visits and replacement of the main control board was needed to determine that.

The cost to replace the two boards is $700 plus service cost. The total repair cost is more than the original cost of the machine.

The machine is three years old. The standard guarantees are less than three years. The company, (Electolux) customer service person "lacks the resources" to respond to this complaint.

I purchased a brand new electrolux dishwasher beginning 0f 7/08. It was delivered at the end of July. Three days after installing we noticed water coming out from under neath it. It ended up being the hose connected permanently to the dishwasher as well as something internal according to the appliance guy. THEIR own insurance comp. came out... said yes we have to replace your entire laminate flooring.. you should hear from them within 30 days...40 days comes NOTHING. I call them.. Oh did I forget the 10 plus calls I have made in the interim to find out whY noone THERE returns their calls...Spoke to Helen HAney... WHO offered NO apologies for the extended length of time this was taking... I asked WHAT the status was and mentioned that the insurance guy didnt check under the flooring for damage and what if we find that.. she mentioned that I should check that and email her the findings.. If no damage she would RUSH out the release papers... WELL, two emails later and two phone calls Still NO response... IMAGINE that! OH she also m entioned that even though my flooring is almost 5 yrs old they get to deduct for depreciation.. So I will have to pay the rest out of my POCKET for damaged caused by their defective appliance OR I could tu;rn it into my own insurance... and LOSE my claim free discount... Needless to say my floor is still torn up and the "replacement" dishwasher is still sitting in my garage...3 months now...Thats what you get for doing business with ELECTROLUX... NEVER AGAIN! Oh and they originally wanted to "repair" a 3 day old appliance.. I didnt pay 1, 000.00 dollars for a REFURBISHED dishwasher...

I have a complaint about the pronto 2 in 1 vacumn. It is a cordless and I have had it less than 2 years. It was a gift from my husband so I have no receipt as he did not keep it. It will not hold a charge so I called electrolux to find a dealer to see if he could order batteries. I got no satisfaction. He told me I would have to buy a whole new unit (the hand part that holds the cup that collects dirt). He thought that held the batteries. I told him that was ridicules. I am extremely frustrated and angry as I have fiddled with this problem for 6 monthes. I went back to Sams and they would do nothing without a receipt. How can I get satisfaction on a product I consider seriously flawed. All I want is batteries to run the unit. Model EL1000 type A serial no. [protected] charger only KA12D150020033u

Frigidaire bad service

May 11 2005, we purchased the best set of appliances Electrlux Home Products make, Frigidaires Pro Series, On Dec 15. Only 7 months later we had to repair the ice maker under warranty ( no problem) well it never got fixed till late Jan/06. On Feb 21/06, The repairman made another house call to repair the ice maker again, Well it never got fixed till Mar 29/06. In July/06 they finally replaced the ice maker with a new one, at this point the warranty had run out so Electrolux finally covered the cost of the problem that started 7 months earlier after a lot of phone calls.

In Aug/07 the mother board that operates the electrical end of the refrigerator died, and had to be replaced, ($400.00) later

Finally on Dec 8/07, our dearly beloved refrigerator died for good, I am pretty sure it is the compressor this time,

So we had to go out and buy a new refrigerator, you can bet it IS NOT A FRIGIDAIRE, In all this we are out $700.00 in repairs and service calls, And we have spent several summer months with no refrigerator, Frigidaire has done nothing to help us after the one year warranty ended, When we told them we had to buy a new refrigerator, they told us the refrigerator problems are over and we have no reason to contact them any further. Can you believe after all we went through they do NOT want us to contact them again. DO NOT BUY FROM ELECTROLUX HOME PRODUCTS, The company treats there customers like ###!

My Electrolux cook top Is non functioning due to a fried motherboard after 21/2 years of easy use. Warranty is useless after a year. My tough luck. Electrolux washes their hands of me and I am out of pocket at least 2300 dollars. I won't buy Electrolux again but was told at the time of purchase that it was the best! Not so..

Nor will I buy any more Electrolux or affiliated products. I am stuck with this cracked fridge caused by the bulbs. This is actually a known issue with the fridges so why were we not informed?! They have all our contact details when we registered the products so a simple letter or email would have sufficed. Were they just hoping it wouldn't happen? This fridge is barely 6 years old. On top of that, we just paid $450 to get a board replaced for an induction slide-in. Upon my complaint, the "solution" they gave me was a piddly rebate on a new fridge. Seriously? I would have to pay 2K plus to fix a problem which was caused by their poor design? And this was after I informed them I am not buying Electrolux again. I'm also so not impressed with this so called "customer service". It's appalling these companies sell all this.

This is one of THE WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE I have ever received in my life. We bought an Electrolux washer in our new house and it was malfunctioning. I called the customer service to complain about the situation and woman was very rude when I asked her name or her manager's name of which she refused to provide. Initially I provided her my name, address and phone numbers for my wife and myself. I wanted to escalate my complaint because I was not getting any satisfaction from her. I maintained my composure and was very polite but she kept saying that she would hang up on me if I insisted to speak to the manager. Eventually she hang up the phone on me without resolving the issue.
This happened yesterday, September 27, 2016 at the Canadian location. These people should not be interacting with the public, their customer service skills are non-existent ... it stinks. Customers employ them, without our service they would not have a job, so we should be treated with respect. As a result of this experience, I will NEVER PUSCHASE NO MORE PRODUCTS from ELECTROLUX ... never again. There are far superior brands out there in the market place. I have instructed the builder to remove the washing machine from my new house. I don't want to have any interactions with these rude and obnoxious people ever again. I will spend my money at other places that are more pleasant and courteous. Ratings 0 out of 5

Never again will I buy an electrolux or frigidair product. I paid over 3, 200 for an electrolux oven just 5 years ago and I am replacing it already. From day one if even a tiny drip landed on the bottom it would smoke filling the whole house. Great when entertaining and your guests literally have to leave the house. The oven was only lightly used as there is only two of us and we mostly use a smaller toaster oven unless entertaining or hosting family dinners. You can see by the photo that the oven looks like new. I had to replace the bottom panel for 175.00 just to get rid of it. Not happy with this oven and glad to be rid of it.

I agree. The worst customer service I have ever encountered and that’s saying something.

Bought an electrolux oven paid 3, 500 for the unit and it has been a major disappointment. The smallest of drips on the bottom of the oven fill the house will smoke that continues until you turn the oven off and wipe the bottom. Not ideal when you are cooking. So many times this happened while entertaining which was an embarrassment worked well to disway others from making the same mistake in purchasing this oven. The oven has had very light use over the years as there is only two of us and we use a smaller toaster oven for the majprity of our cooking needs. The oven was used for family dinners and entertaining however that had to stop because the oven smoked so terrible we had to open all the wimdows and doors to air the house out. Fine in mild months but not in colder months. Recently I bought a new stove I no longer wanted to put up with this unit. I noticed when trying to sell this unit that the inside bottom panel looked like the finish was actually coming off and looked like it was rusting. Unbelievable in 5 years with mild use. I ended up replacing the bottom for 175.00 just so I could get rid of thos piece of junk. NEVER again will I buy frigidair or electrolux again. You can see from the photos this unit is like new it was not obused by any means.

Yea exactly right. I have techs that know me by my first name they have been here so often. Lines freezing. Water dripping onto my hardwood floors and Sears cant or wont get a part here immediately. Five days I have to wait for the door gasket. Five days of water dripping and me cleaning it up every hour or so. Never again will you see another Electrolux product in my house.
PS... this consumer is right, fruits and vegetables freeze in their compartments and the techs say "yep thats the way this one is built".

Extremely dissapointed! Had I seen all these posting before...! Bought from Sears in late 2008 the whole high end line from Electrolux, so far the only issue is the refridgerator! The mother board has been replaced twice, endless problems with the ice maker, water dispensor and ice forming inside the fridge freezing fruits and vegetables! Great! Sears offers horrible service and the technician who showed up so many times at the house told us GOOD LUCK you have bought one of the worst models that will ENDLESSLY break down... really made me feel good...
Stuck with a $3500 refridgerator that does NOT work properly... wow

Bravo Electrolux you really bring quality and workmanship in your products... -))

My daughter has been dealing with a dangerous problem with a Kenmore/Eletrolux range for over a year. This issue has been ongoing so long, actual dates have been lost to me. The stove was purchased about 5 years ago from Sears, along with a refigerator and dishwasher. From the start the handle of the oven door would become loose, always when the oven was in use and hot, and it would release, thereby releasing all components of the door - handle, glass and metal backing. My daughter would have to grab all these things as the handle became useless, these things were hot. She would then have to realign a bolt that held all this together and retighten it. It released often and she even kept a tool by the stove to fix this. By some miracle no serious burns happened - she kept hot pads nearby. Shortly after this range was out of warrantee, it happen again, but this time the glass totally released and crashed to the floor, breaking. Sears did agree to replace the door at no cost since it was so close to warrantee and it had been an ongoing issue. Then, shortly after this new door - THE SAME ISSUE! Obviously this is a design flaw in the construction of the door. The bolt holding everything together is too short . My son-in-law thought he may be able to replace this bolt, but it is buried inthe layers of the door and impossible to get at. Sears response is to send out a service person and replace the door at their expense - not acceptable. The door is a hazard. It haseven happened to me when I have used the stove at her home and your instinct is to grab all collapsing parts that are extremely hot..
She has received no help from Sears - shuttled around from department to department. They will come out and charge her for another replacement of this badly designed door. She has been dealing with the Electrical Safety Agency for months, as it is a dangerous high heat issue. Again she has been delayed, delayed, delayed and the issue has changed many hands, although they have agreed it is worthy of investigating.
She presently has the whole door taped together with electric tape - she has removed the handle completely. She cannot self clean, obviously.. She will never again deal with Sears or Electrolux - buyer beware!

I don't know why you are blaming Sears?.Sears went out of they're way to resolve the issue. The problem lies in the manufacturer...Sears didn't build it.Sears is very reputable and has among the best customer support .

I purchased a Frigidaire/Electrolux stove new in 2008. A few days ago the glass door on the oven exploded sending little shards of glass all over my house - fortunately I was far enough away that I wasn't injured. When I contacted customer service to inquire what they would do to resolve my issue, I was told I would have to call another company to get an authorized service technician to come & inspect the stove - not sure why, as it's the door that's broken, not the rest of the stove - and that I would not only have to take an unpaid day from work but would also need to PAY for this service tech to come to my house. Are they kidding? When I said no, I was cold transferred to the rudest, most cendescending "customer service manager" I have ever had the displeasure of speaking to - Jimmy Singh (although I suspect this may be a pseudonym). I was so angry by the time I was done trying to get an answer out of him that I put in a complaint to the BBB. Completely unacceptable customer service and you can better believe I will NEVER purchase another Frigidaire/Electrolux product in my life, and I will be sure to let everyone I know about their awful service.

I purchased a frigidaire one month ago, and cannot get anyone to help us in our delema. The frigidaire make is matt finish and I AM UNDER 5 FEET TALL and cannot reach the back of the top shelf and want to change and upgrade. But brault-martineau who sold us the frigidaire line will only take back the item at a $500.00 deduction. What do I do to try and purchase another frigidaire at a price similar to what we paid. judy

Frigidaire very poor service and rude

This service is very unprofessional and the service is very poor.
We do acknowledge that the older/senior seasoned repair represenatives are very good and understand that the customer comes first. It is the younger and non-senior repair men that are very unprofessional and rude. The company needs to examine the way they do business before they will be forced to close their doors.

Part of the issue is the delivery of damaged parts from Frigidaire the other issue is the inept service represantive. We have had this company to our home 6 times with out resolution and the last service rep was very nasty and rude.

The company over works these repair men with a very long day but that is no excuse for unprofessional and rude behavior.

We know have a letter that has every service problem with A & E as well as every problem encountered with the Frigidaire product and replacement parts. The Warranty Group is also at fault for contracting with such a poor service company.

We have called A & E, Frigidaire, and The Warrenty Group to document our experience and logged a formal complaint with no response from any one. We have had it and we will now send a formal letter by mail to the Corporate Offices of each one of these companies and to the Dept of Consumer Affairs.

Our Frigidaire Oven is still not repaired and it has been a good month since we placed all our complaints and we still have not received a new replacement part nor a call back from any of the three companies involved.

We have no option but to take further action.

I am going through a similar thing and I would NEVER buy a Fridgaire product again. If it is the clock assembly also known as the "Mother Board" to the tune of $350.00, I am told that they are known to burn out frequently.
All the Authorized service companies will not return your call if they know it is for Fridgidaire because I have been told they are the most difficult company to deal with.
I think moving their call center back to the USA may help.
Good Luck

Frigidaire heat pump failures

In August 2006 I purchased a Frigidaire single package heat pump (puron) to replace my old, inefficient unit (Freon). During the first year of operation (2006-07) the new H.P. had continuous problems with both heating and cooling causing interruptions of service and requiring the replacement of various parts including a compressor. In August 2007 the unit failed during the hottest part of the summer (106 to 113 degrees). The AC company who sold me the unit recommended replacement with a new Frgidaire H.P. under the manufacturer's warranty, I agreed. There was no unit available in Nevada, the replacement H.P. would have to come from the Frigidaire (Nordyne) in Missouri, which would mean at least another week or more of living in extreme heat for me. When the new H.P. finally arrived in Las Vegas at Nordyne's distributer, my AC company discovered they would have to pay for the unit before the distributer would release it to them. The AC Company refused the delivery and told me they were washing their hands of any responsibility in the matter and left me very hot and upset. (I later found out that if my AC Co. had payed for the new unit, Nordyne would not refund their money until my old H.P. was returned to them for inspection and they (Nordyne) had determined that my old unit was indeed defective. This, so I'm told, could take 60 days or more. If Nordyne decided the unit was not defective my AC Co. might not be able to recover their money from Nordyne. I started calling Nordyne's Las Vegas distributer, I called Nordyne, I even contacted a local TV consumer advocate. This went on for several days, the distributer said that while he appreciated my problem, his hands were tied. Nordyne said they understood my problem but backed my A.C. Co.'s decision to back out of the deal, "they did exactly what they should have done" the Nordyne rep told me. I never heard from the local TV consumer advocate. Suddenly, after a couple of days, Nordyne's distributer said they would arrange to have the new H.P. installed by a different A.C. Co. but it would cost me Two hundred and fifty dollars and a new transition would have to be fabricated as the old one was not large enough. Finally, after two plus weeks of extreme heat and frustration, the new H.P. was installed and operating. The new unit, although slightly noisy, worked well until July, 2008 when the compressor failed again. The new A.C. Co. contacted Nordyne who, although certain a bad installation or, I don't know, maybe something I personally did to the unit was responsible, agreed to supply a new H.P. to the A.C. Co. to install if I would come up with a thousand dollars first. (I'm not sure who the thousand dollars is for, Nordyne - the A.C. Co. or both). I should say here that the Nordyne's Las Vegas distributer and the second A.C. Co. may be the same entity and they became involved in this deal to help me out. I decided to hold off on the A.C. Co.s offer and see if my home warranty insurance will cover my defective H.P.. based on past performance of this Frigidaire unit, it could cost me at least a thousand dollars a year just to replace compressors under the manufacturer's warranty. That's the story to date, its 92 degrees in my house at 4:00 am with a high of 112 degrees predicted for today and still no air conditioning in sight.

We've had similar problems with Fridgidair heat pumps. We bought this house in 2006 and they came with it. They were new in 2003, but the house was rarely occupied. Since we've lived here, both heat pump compressors have failed several times. Both have been replaced 'under warranty' for over $750. Now the one that was replaced in April has stopped again. We had to pay $575 for the new compressor as Fridgidair will not pay for shipping or installation. It's 82 degrees in the bedrooms and my husband had open heart surgery 6 weeks ago. I don't know what to do anymore.

Frigidaire - dishwasher vents out the sides

Okay, where to begin? I've read so many complaints about Frigidaire appliances that I'm shocked! Right now, I'm preparing some paper work to sue Frigidaire in small-claims court over the vents on my 4000 Series AquaSurge Dishwasher. The dishwasher is designed to vent out of the sides which in turn has caused my cabinet sides to warp, and my white cabinet...

Frigidaire poor customer service

We purchased a refrigerator on Wednesday May 21, 2008. It was delivered on Tuesday May 27, 2008. On Friday May 30 noticed it was leaking water on the floor. Called Bad Boy. Was told to call manufacturer. Called Electrolux on Friday May 30 called electrolux. Was given name of authorized repair acility in London. A tech was dispensed on Tuesday June 3. Was told it needed a part. Part was to be ordered. Told by repair facility on Friday June 6 part was back ordered. Call electrolux. Nothing they can do. Does not matter if water is leaking and food is being ruined. Electrolux is not repsonsible. Called Bad Boy to get fridge replaced. Bad Boy said they could replace fridge if we had not called electrolux, even though a week earlier they said they can do nothing and we must call elctrolux, the manufcaturer. Tech came out Monday June 16 to replace defective part. Today June 17, fridge is STILL leaking water on the floor. So if you want poor customer service and a crappy product. Buy an electrolux product from Lastmans Bad Boy. The next time you are watching a Bad Boy commercial an dthey aske the question "Who's better than Bad Boy". Answer the question EVERYBOOOODY is better!
