Edgars Fashion / Edcon instore experience and product

I purchased a pair of shoes from an edgars branch. The shoes is still almost brand new and is falling apart. I wanted to exchange the shoes at potchefstroom branch the staff was arrogant and rude. The took my shoes and the slip and refused to give it back. They said they will email head office and let me know. This is totally unexeptable. I am really dissapointed in the poor service i received. Please assist with this problem as soon as possible or this matter will be taken further.

Edgars Fashion / Edcon trying to close my account

On 31 July 2017 I paid up my Edgars account at Kolonnade shopping centre and requested the account to be closed. The shop assistant had 3 cellphones calling [protected] for nearly 30 minutes but no connection was made. On 01 August 2017 at 09:15 I called the same number, at last a male person answered and verified my details, he then put me though to the "cancellations department". After 20 minutes no one came back to me and I hung up. On 01 August 2017 at 17:30 I talked to Nontando at the same number. She verified my details and put me through to the "cancellations department. After 13 minutes no one came back to me and I hung up. How can I close my Edgars account?

Edgars Fashion / Edcon subscription fee

I previously sent a complaint about someone purchasing airtime on my Edgars account. The card was never lost and always with me. After battling for months and months to be credited i sent a complaint to Hello Peter only then i received a call from someone who advised me that i will be credited.

This month i checked my statement and saw that i have been paying a OTA prepaid voucher registration fees of R22.80 every month for i don't no how long. This is not something i subscribe to and i want to be credited ASAP

The response from Hello Peter gave me numbers to contact but these numbers are uncontactable

Please assist as this is really pathetic now.

Edgars Fashion / Edcon edgars vip membership

My name is Zwiande Mbedzi I'm currently having an account with Edgars. My problem is that I've been billed R60 for the past few years/months for something that I did not consent to. I would like to be fully compensated for the money that was deducted for this Edgar's VIP That I did not consent to. I would like disciplinary action to be taken to the person responsible for this unethical business practice as a loyal edcon group customer I'm starting to get very disappointed in their level of service.

Edgars Fashion / Edcon wrong charges

Disgusting service! I want to close my account immediately, I have been trying to sort out a problem with airtime charges on my account since may 2017. According to the call centre a request for reversal has been put in several times. I have only been helped by useless staff members who take no action in solving the issue. I spoke to the customer relations manager who was also of no help, Mzamami Ndove. I need action taken on this problem. Please contact me on [protected]

Edgars Fashion / Edcon deafalt electric blanket

See letter attached...

I bought a Boardman Double Electric Blanket from your Menlyn Store in Pretoria on 07/05/2016 ( Invoice attached. We used this blanket from May to September 2016 ( Winter months ) In October we took it off and stored it in its plastic cover until May 2017 when we put it back on. The blanket stopped working properly when one of the controls malfunctioned on 13/07/2017 resulting in half of the blanket staying cold.
I took the blanket back to Menlyn 0n 15/07 for a refund or replacement but was told that the guarantee expired two months ago and that they cant do anything for me. I offered to pay in the difference on a new blanket but that was also declined.
In effect I have used the blanket for only 8 months and I am sure that the quality of your product should be better then this.

Edgars Fashion / Edcon security

My handbag was stolen inside the Edgars store at Bayside mall. We immediately alerted the security. I went back about 20 minutes later and was told by the lady at the door that they could not find anything. I then questioned how they were able to check the cameras so quickly and asked to speak to a control room operator. The guard came to the entrance where we were standing and proceeded to tell me that they could not see anything. I once again asked how they could check so fast and they said that there are certaim places in the shop that the cameras are not able to reach. I asked to see footage of us inside the shop and he told me that it is against company policy. At this time, the store manager came up to me and said that I needed to follow him to his back office. I followed him and he told me the same thing. I got agitated and raised my voice as my handbag with all my cards and my kar keys was stolen inside his shop and he could not be bothered to check the cameras and I have a little baby and were stuck without transport. He told me that he finds me disrespectful and that it is not his responsibility to keep an eye on my belongings to which I replied that I do no need him to check my belongings but to help me find out who stole my bag. He told the control room operator in front of me not to deal with me anymore. I find it utterly suspicious and concerning that the mayter was dealt with in this manner and that I was treated like the criminal and the criminal was protected. I still insist on seeing the person who stole my bag inside your Edgars store and want to clarify why it is company policy not to view camera footage and why they cannot see who stole my bag as the whole roof is covered with cameras?

Edgars Fashion / Edcon stone harbour jeans

I bought three stone harbour jeans of which one tore. Took it back and it was exchanged for a new one. Now the other two have also torn and the cashier never gave me a copy of my slip. I would appreciate it if Edgars can assist me to exchange the two jeans. I never had any issues with the quality of stone harbour jeans, but this is clearly poor quality material.

Edgars Fashion / Edcon bronx shoes: men's pair of size 8

Good day.
I purchased a pair of Mens Bronx, black leather shoes from Edgars Store, West Street, Durban, South Africa, last year.

I was told by the salesperson that this was a pair of GENUINE leather. It definitely looks so and for a price of R599, 95, i was convinced. Besides, i only wear formal LEATHER shoes.

Unfortunately, this year it developed a tear/crack (look at pics) along the right foot. I am a 53yrs professional male who wears it at irregular intervals, only to work which entails very little walking.

I am very disappointed with the quality of this name brand shoe, especially when great care and pride is excercised.

I am supposed to receive my statements via email but for months on end I keep on having to ask for it! can you please send me the statements via my postal address again as this will ensure that I receive them!

I also am VERY VERY UPSET with your customer care - I have had an account with Edgars for nearly 30 years. I have NEVER not pay my account - I urge you to look at my records! Yet I get a phone call last month HARRASSING ME FOR R57! After I had paid R500 that month - I was in hospital so had to send someone to pay the account - No words can express my utter disgust with the person whom phoned me! I also cannot believe that Edcon can phone you like you are a criminal for R57! VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED. Edgars Fashion / Edcon cell phone department

Edgars is by far the worst service provider! I took my iPhone in for repairs, two months later am still without a phone. I have had to be the one chasing after them making endless phone calls! I was then offered R8000 as compensation for an iPhone 7, yet my screen had been the only thing shattered, after refusing that offer and pleading for my broken phone back, they still did nothing let alone return a phone call I wouldn't advice anyone to insure with them.

Edgars Fashion / Edcon service

i had an account with Edgar's and i finished paying it up on the 21/06/2017 and on the 28/06/2017 i made a call to Edgar's requesting for paid up letter on my account . I was told that i will receive a letter on that day . on the 30th June i called again to check what has happened as i am still expecting to get the letter send to my email address that i have provided on that i spoke to Noxibile Who told me that the first person i spoke to didn't make a request for my paid up letter and she promised me that i will receive a letter on Friday or on Monday . Yesterday on Monday i checked my emails, still there was nothing . i called again and i was told that i will get the letter yesterday and the person i spoke to is Nondumiso and still i haven't received my paid up letter and i'm still appearing on ITC as i want to clear my name. Even now i am still waiting for my paid up letter and i asked for the number for customer care i was given the number which is not going through .[protected] is the number i was given . i request that my matter to be attend with urgency and my paid up letter to be send to my email address which is: damaris.[protected]@absa.co.za or alternatively to damaris.[protected]@absa.co.za

Edgars Fashion / Edcon closure of account

My name is Njabulo Ngobese. I had an Edgars account that I closed in 2015 but my name still hasn't been cleared off it. My credit report still says that the account is active with a balance that has been paid off already. I would like to make a final request for this clearance to be made because Edgars has sent me to you to resolve this issue. I don't want that account to continue popping up in my credit profile. If this matter is not resolved soon I'm afraid I'm going to have to report it to the relevant bodies ie. The Ombudsman and the National Consumer Commission.

Edgars Fashion / Edcon mango flight ticket

I bought a mango ticket on the 30th Jan. PHQYYL. In Feb a person from Edgars phoned me to ask if I bought the ticket which I confirmed. On the day of the flight 21 April at the airport we were told this ticket does not exist. I then had to buy another ticket for PNJRPS. I HAD TO PAY R1000 more for this ticket.

Dudu at this Email adres.[protected]@edcon. Handled my query and inform me that Edgars will not pay the difference. My account was never debited with the original amount but Mango informed me they credited an accoun ending with 5089. My account ending with 8059.

Please can someone look into this matter and refer back as I am not getting any joy from Dudu.

Edgars Fashion / Edcon unprofessional service - denied my account card (edgars clothing store)

I went to Matlosana mall (Klerksdorp) for the fourth time on 29 June 2017, trying to get my secondary Edgars account card since we opened the account in my husbands name. Each week there is a 'new' requirement or drama according to them. This time we were told by a Lydia that, 1. My marriage certificate (that is 16 years old) is not valid, 2. That even though my drivers license and passport are in my Nel surname, I am still a Vermaak by law and cannot get a card on my Nel surname - why, because my I.D book which I last renewed almost 20 years ago is still on Vermaak. We phoned the helplines and all Edgars numbers we could find, and no one understands what we are saying or can help. Basically I am not married or a Nel by law according to Lydia at Edgars Matlosana Mall. NB: I asked to speak to a Manager and she stated she (Lydia) is the only manager which I don't believe. All I want is my secondary card! Just ask the government, or my bank, I am definitely Debbie Nel and have not been Debbie Vermaak for 16 years now already. This is the first time I have heard this hogwash and I have used my old ID book with my marriage certificate as proof of my "new" (sixteen year old) surname to even transfer properties on my name, so why then can I not get a secondary Edgars card this way? I was treated really badly (by Lydia) as well of course, which I don't appreciate.

I demand my card, in my Nel Surname since legally I am Debbie Nel! My Husband is the main account holder (yes, he is legally my husband) - JWA NEL. I have a legal drivers's licence with the surname Nel and legal passport. Legal I am Debbie Nel.

Edgars Fashion / Edcon duvet inner: boardmas (bedding section)

I bought duvet inner last year with my account. It was on special buy one get one free. I am not happy with the quality on those inners, I think there was manufacture errors there. it has created round balls inside. I haven't even washed them .

I would like them to either be replaced or get my money back. Quality duvet inners are suppose to last you long enough because they are durable good.

Edgars Fashion / Edcon no delivery, no stock and nobody knows anything

I placed an order on the 22nd, it clearly stated it will be delivered on the latest 5 working days. Phoned on the 28th, was told the product was picked and will be here on the 29th, after 13:00 I phoned to ask the progress and nobody has any idea why it wasn't delivered but don't worry it will be escalated and take 48 hours to resolve, the party is tonight and because of your lack of commitment and keeping promises I have a problem. No refund or escalating queries will fix this, this is the worst service I have ever received. I want the gift I ordered today since I paid it!

i placed an order online on the 22 June 2017 i was told that delivery takes 2-5 working days still i haven't received my order. I called on the 28 June 2017 i was told they are escalating my query no feedback from Online team. still no feedback i called i was told it will be escalated now im getting irritated by this poor service, no one is providing me with the feedback i always have to be the one calling them. they said SLA time for deliveries was 2-5 working days but now it has exceeded.

I have had an Edgars account (acc. no. [protected]) for at least 20 years. I have been thankful for the facility and the wide range of products available. However, I am now irritated and inconvenienced by the fact that I received a statement in May showing "Total Due R0.00, Due Date 01/06/17"., only to get an sms on 16/06/17 "Payment on your overdue Edcon Acc is due today."
This is surely incorrect as my next payment due should be on 01/07/17.

Emails to your customer service is a useless service as they do not answer the client's questions or address their concerns.

Disappointed and sadly now an ex Edgars client. I have today settled this age old account that used to be a pleasure to have and have requested it to be closed!

Edgars Fashion / Edcon service at brooklyn edgars - red hanger sale

Edgars isn't my favourite store because the service is really bad. I often get an sms after I have bought there and I have complained a number of times but the service just doesn't seem to be getting any better. The red-hanger sale is always a good sale to go to and so I did, yesterday. It was after 12 noon and the shop was rather busy. One would think that the management would realise that they needed to up their game in a situation like this. Many people stood in long queues waiting to pay but some just put their goods down and walked out. When I was eventually helped I asked the ladies behind the tills why there were so few tills open. I didn't get any response so I asked to see the manager. He was very polite but it still doesn't sort the problem out. Taking clothing items back is also a total nightmare. This branch really needs a shake up!
