Edgars Fashion / Edcon charges relating to cellphone contract

In July I received a call from people claiming to be from Jet offering me reward in data or hotspot access. They had all my information including account number, I refused to offer my info to authenticate and they read the info to me to prove they already had. After the call I called Edcon immediately to report the fraud.
on 02/08/18 I received email saying there are no charges on my account, i had to wait till I receive my next statement. I only saw the statement after there were already 2 months of charges on my account. I phoned Edcon and was told will be given feedback, it never came. Agai I phoned on 05/10/2018 and from there still no feedback.
I received a collection call last month and I promised to pay on 31/10/2018 all that I owed Edcon, excluding the fraudulent charges and I did.
On 7 November at about 13:45 I phoned, spoke to a lady who said she will look and see what is happening, the call was dropped at about 13:55. At 13:56 I phoned again, got a gentleman and same result, after about 8 minutes of waiting, dropped still no feedback.
Today (15/11/18) I am still getting collection emails and smses, still no feedback as to my complaint, in fact I should not be receiving any of these except notification that the fraudulent charges have been reversed.
This is the 3rd time I have battled with fraudulent charges on this account.

Edgars Fashion / Edcon cancelling airtime contract

Hi PLEASE WILL SOMEONE SORT THIS OUT ASAP
I cancelled a contract that I had with Edgars, for R75.00 airtime
It took me months to finally get them to cancel it.
Two month AGo I was no longer charge for the air time
BUT I AM STSILL RECEIVING R75.00 EACH MONTH

PLEASE DO NOT SAY THAT I HAVE TO PHONE WHOEVER, AS i AM 77 YEARS OLD, AND NEARLY HAD A HEART ATTACK TRYING TO SORT THEM OUT JUST TO CANCEL IT
THEY DO NOT PICK UP THEIR PHONE, AND YOU CAN WAIT ON THE PHONE FOR 30 MINS BEFORE SOMEONE SPEAKS TO YOU

THEY ARE ALSO NOT VERY GOOD AT THEIR JOBS.
I DO NOT HAVE ANY MORE TIME TO WASTE OVER THIS JUST STOP FROM SENDING ME R75.00 EACH MONTH TO MY CELL [protected]

Edgars Fashion / Edcon bad customer service

I made a payment on my Edgards account yesterday the 07/11/2018 in the amount of R748.16. I went to Edgards Cresta today to make an purchase and the lady told me that I had to make a payment before I can purchase, I explained to her that I made an EFT payment yesterday, but she insisted that I made a in store payment as my payment has not reflected yet. You can check my account history over the last 30 years that I have been I client and you will see that I am a very good client that you have never had any problems with in the last 30 years, which you have just lost as I am CLOSING my ACCOUNT. THIS IS NOT HOW YOU TREAT AN LOYAL CLIENT OF 30 YEARS.

I received a SMS asking for payment, which I made on 31/10/[protected]@10.46am, I have a receipt as I paid cash... I went into baywest they couldn't help me as I paid at walmer park Pe, I phoned them after asking to speak to a manager so they put me through to 4 people and then cut me off, then phone the other num from SMS, also couldn't help and also cut me off...Help I am furious

A few months ago fraudulent transactions where processed on my account. I submitted documents to dispute the transactions and it was sorted out. I got a new card and it didn't work, the staff in Edgar's Galleria are so unhelpful and were uninterested . I was interrogated to use my own card yet someone walked out the same store with goods fraudulently with no questions asked. This is the worst store I have ever visited. Staff speak in Zulu thinking we cannot understand. No respect for customers having personal chats while customers are in front of them . Never will I come here again spent almost an hour just to make a simple purchase.

Edgars Fashion / Edcon bad service

On the 4th of November I visited the Edgar's active in tsakane mall to do an exchange. There was 1 person working at the till so I approached the manager to enguire firstly he told me that he is busy with a customer which is understandable but after hearing my complaint he jst told me that I need to understand that there are 5 people at the store but not all of them are working in payments while at the cellphone till we have 4 people doing the same thing. When I told him I don't understand his allocation of people in English, he told me that that I must in Zulu and not act white, so according to me that only white people should complain. He did not attend to my complain he jst left me there . So I am very angry 😡 and disappointed on the service I received. I can't not stand on the que for 30 minutes in 1 spot Shame.

I am a jet account holder I have been paying and paying on my account and the balance doesn't seem to come down for e.g if i pay a R1000 on the account only a R200 gets pulled off the amount owing i finally decided to block my account and the same problem is occuring then i was told that its all the insurance and club card amounts that is causing the balance not to go down so I cancelled everything and I am still having the same problem. I have also paid on airtime per month which is R80 where u receive free airtime and data but its now almost 8 months and I have been paying for something and received nothing i was told that I would be reimbursed but nothing was done about it I would like to know where all my money is going to because it seems like i will be paying this account for the rest of my life and I am not even taking anything on credit for the past few months because i am too scared that i will keep on paying for it

Edgars Fashion / Edcon stitching of eco sweater coming loose

I went to Edgars in Kollonade the 29th of October 2018 to complain about the stitching on a sweater I bought in the beginning of July for a present for somebody. After the second wash the stitching come loose. I was very disappointing, because it was a branded ECO sweater that I paid for R 699.00. I didn't kept the slip, because it was a present in the first place and in the second place I never had a problem like this before. I waited from 9 o'clock the morning and I am still waiting for them. They told me they will look on the system to get a item number to process the credit and when I asked them again after 3 hours, they told me the person that must pass the credits are not available on site. I don't know is they processed it or not. I left them my telephone number and they made a copy of my card. I would really like to know what is the situation so far and if they can do something about it.

W N Govinden is on disability so I conduct all his business for him. I went into the Hilton Quarry centre during the periods Sept 2016 till March 2017 where I requested closure of this account. Not once but 3 times. I was assured that this account was closed. the last activity you would have seen is payment and closure. I know hear that this account has been handed over to MBD attorneys and listed on ITC as a slow payer. This is absolutely in erroneous and abhorrent behaviour on the part of Edgars, firstly to do this to any client but a disabled one is just plain predatory. You have subsequently affected his credit record and addition add stress to him..

I request that you investigate this matter urgently. I suggest you pull a statement and look into where that R164 has emerged from, but it definitely from your side.

Edgars Fashion / Edcon cellphone insurance

i am a very unhappy customer i bought a phone at edgars southgate and took out phone insurance . when my phone got lost I went to Edgars Southgate to claim for my insurance which lead to me going to the police station for an affidavit and filling in a form at the store and was promised that these documents will be submitted to the claims department and someone will get in touch with me.

when I didnt get any feedback i then went to southgate mall and they told me they will re-submit the forms and get back to me, I gave them a chance but still there was no feedback. I then went to the Glen mall to check if they can assist me, I was told that they will get back to me which they failed to do so.

I called the claims department and they told me that the phone was delivered to the wrong store but they couldn't tell me which store and they will send it to the right store and get back to me.

I submitted this claim in May 2018 and I am still waiting for feedback.

Edgars Fashion / Edcon been scammed by edgars

I have complained to Edgars with regards to a fee I am been charged for of R25.00 per month for airtime and subscription of which I know nothing about. This has been since Feb 2018. I do not get any this loaded onto my phone either. Your customer service department is useless. I want a refund since Feb2018 and I want to close my account at Edgars- your company are scamming people and obviously you are not doing so well by the looks of things so you are now stealing from customers.

This happened to me as well and they refusing to refund my money they claim that I gave my consent when some one phoned me, which is complete rubbish because I got a contract with a cell phone company so why would I get airtime from somewhere else. Edgar's needs to be taken to task for this, because this is fraud as simple as that

Edgars Fashion / Edcon health and safety

To whom this may concern,
On Saturday the 27th of October, we visited the Fourways Mall to shop at Edgar's and was faced with a serious injury to my 3 year old Toddler. While viewing the clothing in the kids section, my son had tripped and fell onto a devastating sharp edge of a clothing rack which resulted in him breaking off 2 teeth, cut to his top and bottom lips and massive bleeding. The staff was of no help whatsoever as they could not do anything to stop the bleeding, give a relief of pain nor provide a bucket of water to wash off the blood. My most concern above all is that the kids clothing section should at least be safe or child proof. This could happen to any parents kid and I really feel this needs to be taken seriously.

The lady that answered I had explained her what I needed and let her explain and check for me upon her answering back and me still not sure she didn't sound polite anymore and dropped the call on me while I was still speaking

I have been a client of you guys for a long time and is people like this that makes people like me to take my business away to people that treats you with respect and appreciates your business

Please can someone please take this up and give me feedback

Edgars Fashion / Edcon account closure & airtime and data charges

Edgars has been billing me for airtime and data that i did not authorize and not even receiving for the past 4 months to the amount of R502. I have requested for a refund that is enough to settle my balance and for them to close my account and they will get extra R20 that would have been my change. They have been playing games with me sending me from pillar to post and call [protected] number that no one ever picks up.

They have now send me a demand letter for amount outstanding for this month of R523 while i have had a balance of over R2000 and never got demand letters or a mere call to settle the balance.

Edgars Fashion / Edcon unauthorised charges

My complaint reference number is [protected]/go.
I have called the customer service dept from the 14/08/18 and still no resolution. I have received my e-statements and noticed that for 3 months I have been billed for airtime data subscription fee of r78 and sms air subscription fee of r49 without my authorization of acceptance to these deals. I have called in requesting this service to be cancelled but it was added on last month and this month as well. I initially called on the 14/08/18 and then 10/09/18 and I called in today but no help from your dept in this regard.
It is costing me a lot to get through the call centers and relay my awful experience with different agents who seem to give me an alternate dept to call. Today I called the call center who in turn asked me to call the airtime dept which did not answer my call, I was holding on the line for 5 minutes but no answer. I am totally appalled at the pathetic customer service received from Edgar's. I have asked for someone to return my call from 14/08/18 but no one did. I need to be credited for these 3 months as I am livid that Edgar's has added on these data subscriptions that I have not authorized on my account. This is greatly increasing my balance which I will not pay unless the account has been credited. This needs your urgent attention. So disappointed in pathetic service!

My husband bought me a lipstick from Edgars Langeberg Mall on Friday 12 October for our anniversary. When I opened the lipstick the colour part fell out. I pushed it back. My husband insisted on returning it since it is an Elizabeth Arden lipstifck costing R325. I went back and decided that I shall return the lipstick and ask if I can also change the colour from red to pink. The Beaty Advisor said it is fine, but when she opened up the lipstick she insisted that I damaged it. She said that it was in perfect condition when it left the store. I promised her that I never used it. I opened it. Put the colour part back, that fell out and returned to Edgars. When I tried to show the 2 ladies that the colour part is loose the lipstick broke in two pieces. I asked for the assistance from the store manager, but they said that he left the shop and they cannot tell me how long I will have to wait. I left the shop in dismy with my destroyed anniversary gift. What should I do?

I have been a loyal customer of Edgars for many many years, and have never skipped a payment. I have always trusted Edgars to be a ethical company to deal with. Because of this, I very rarely look at my statement but in the last two months I looked at my account to see what my outstanding balance was.

I then discovered on my statement that I am being charged a Cell phone insurance premium. I made a call to your customer call centre, and logged a query. Firstly the insurance was to be stopped immediately which subsequently happened, and secondly I requested for the premiums that I have been charged for incorrectly be reversed on my account. I have not received a call, e-mail or any kind of feedback on my query. I made another call today, and spoke to Khaya Kazi which kept me on the line for close to an hour without any resolution to my problem. The feedback I received was that I agreed to this insurance when I bought the phone from Edgars in 2013. Secondly I was told that I could have seen on my statements that I have been charged this amount, and could have queried it much earlier. Thirdly I was told that the premiums will not be reversed because I never cancelled the insurance. So, after I have been put on hold numerous times for minutes at a time I was told that the matter will be referred to a department that will investigate the matter and get back to me in 24-48 hours. I refused this offer as this is the second time that I am calling about the same problem so surely my query have already been to this so called department. I asked to talk to the call centre supervisor which I believe to be a Sihle Zulu, but after holding on for many more minutes I could never get to talk to this person as they are very busy. I then requested a copy of the original agreement to be e-mailed to me, indicating where I agreed to be paying this insurance for the rest of my life. I have not yet received this agreement, and I probably will never receive it either.

I expect formal feedback within 24 hours on this matter.

I bought 3 items online on the 25th of September, order number [protected].
Last Monday I received the wrong parcel. I have called the online call center repeatedly, the manager promised to return my call to explain what was the delay for them to pick up the wrong parcel from me, but I never received any call. I even emailed but no reply. Miraculously the incorrect parcel was picked up two days ago but I'm still waiting for my correct parcel. I spent close to R2000 on this transaction, surely my needs should have been met. Or does Edgar's not have any regard for their customers? I'm highly upset and disgusted with the level of service I have received.

On the 27/07/18 i took my watch to have the straps replaced at your edgars branch in tygervalley (fossil watch ES3317) Elretha Lakay.After 3 weeks of no contact from the store i called to inquire about my watch and was told the watch was still with the technicians.Another few weeks went by and i had to call the myself again and again i was told the same thing.Two weeks ago i called the store again and this time someone assisted me and called me back to give me the quote.This sales lady told me the watch will be ready the next week.Two weeks later and i have not heard anything from the store.The service has been pathetic say the least..never once did the store initiated contact with me, i have had to call the store multiple times find out whats happening with my watch.Its been almost 3 months and all i actually want is to get my watch back and take it somewhere else to have the straps replaced.

I have been into your Hemingways branch 4 times since the 27th September attempting to purchase a gift for someone. Every time I have been in there I have been unable to make the purchase because they "are offline". Today I was told that they have been offline since yesterday (I call [censored] as this is the 4th time I have been in since the 27th and none of those times was yesterday). Clearly you don't want me to make my purchase from there. This is absolutely ridiculous service. When can I come in and make my purchase without wasting my time.

On the 31st of July 2018, I opened a clothing account with Edgars at Birch Acres Mall and the assistant at the store who was assisting me open an account didn't ask me is I wanted the payment plan to be 6 month or 12. I then asked her which payment plan did she choose for my account, she said she chose 12 months, I then told her that I don't want 12 months I want a 6 mouths payment plan.

She called called the new accounts department and told them that she made a mistake on the customers application and she would like them to rectify it. They told her that they can since the account hasn't been approved yet and she gave me the phone to confirm all my details with then and they also confirmed to me that it has been changed to 6 mouths instead of 12 months payment plan.

I then lead the store and within a short while I received a SMS confirming that my account has been approved. I went back to the store and showed them the SMS and the lady who was assisting me was happy and told me that I need to purchase clothes for the certain amount before I can purchase a cellphone on an account because I told them that I want to buy purchase a cellphone.

I purchased all the items and returned home. During the month of August I received an email with my account monthly installment amount and that's when I saw that my payment plan is 12 months and not a 6 months plan.

On the 25th of August I went to the shop and spoke to the lady that assisted me with opening my account, telling her the payment plan was not changed to 6 months and I showed her the statement.

She called the Edgars accounts department and explained everything to them and they told her that they can't change it because I do not qualify for a 6 months payment plan. I then spoke to the manager asking him why did Edgars lie to me because if they told me that I don't qualify for a 6 months payment plan I was going to cancel the account. He then said there's nothing he can do at the store level, I must call the head office.

I called the head office and explained everything to them then they told me that I should have read the contract before signing it. How can they say that because there are no documents to sign on at the store. They only give me a digital pen and a digital pad to sign on and then the gave me the card.

I will not pay a 12 months installment because I explicitly stated that I want a 6 months plan.
