Economy Lube Full synthetic oil change

Hello,

I have received 3 oil changes from your location on Dundas in Mississauga and I have the stickers and receipts to prove this. The last one I had was around a month ago.

I took my car in to a mechanic today because my electrical sensor was going off and the mechanic told me whoever did my last oil change overfilled the oil which flooded my engine bay and ruined a few parts in my car including the throttle body and my pcv valve. The mechanic is currently working on draining and cleaning the oil out of my car, and my quote is now over $200...

Many bolts inside my engine bay were also loose and no one has touched it other than your mechanics in over a year.

I am very upset as I am a students who doesn't have the budget to fix my car, I thought I was getting a great deal and great service but your "Mechanics" have severely messed up my car.

Please contact me to resolve this issue. The mechanic has taken pictures that I am willing to send you as soon as my car is fixed

My email is [protected]@gmail.com

Desired outcome: Reimbursement for the work that needs to be done on my car

Economy Lube Parking brake fault

Worst experience with Economy Lube and 41 fairway rd, Kitchener Today.

Three days ago, I had my rear brake and rotors replaced. My Honda Civic's parking brake malfunctioned soon after that. I thought it’s just a usual thing , but it began to happen frequently.

Today, I drove to the Economy Lube, and the visit was a complete disaster. They were very rude and refused to acknowledge their error and even charged me more to rectify it. I am not sure whether the issue is fixed or will occur again.

I wouldn't suggest visiting these people and would advise staying away from them.

If the option to offer a 0 rating existed, I would have chosen that.

Economy Lube Oil change

On May 19, 2022 I got an oil change on my corolla at the Cambridge hespler st location.

shortly after the oil change my Car starting leaking oil.

I took it to the dealership suspecting the oil change tech did something wrong.

They had. They put the wrong gasket for the drain plug on which led to an oil leak. Had to take to the dealership to be rectified.

Desired outcome: I'd like for them to improve the training for their staff. This could have ruined my engine if I wasn't diligent about getting in for inspection

Economy Lube Tire change summer to winter

I wrote a bad review and I never got an answer.
I went to swap out summer tires to winter.
On my way home I heard a loud noise and felt vibration. I pulled over and found out the lug nuts were loose called shop guy can out and tightened them.
Had to go back to get my lug nut key which they forgot to give me.
The worse part of this is the guy who drove my van out of shop made my van smell like pot.
Do you allow your workers to smell like pot when they are working

I'm extremely pissed about this I'm wondering if they actually did an engine flush when I got my oil changed.
I can not trust this company especially when they do not answer review.
I need answers my van still smells like pot.

Desired outcome: Answer

Economy Lube Tire change summer to winter

I brought my van in to swap out summer tires to winter. On my way home I felt wobbling and load noise. Pulled over and 3 lug nuts weren't even tight can move with hand.
Called the store guy came out to fix then realized I didn't have my lug nut key socket.
So had to go back to store to get it.
The employee who drove my van out of the bay made my van smell like pot.
This is extremely unprofessional, unacceptable. This could have caused an accident or even a lot of unnecessary damage.
Not happy with this service
I should get a refund for this because it could have been worse.

Desired outcome: Refund

Economy Lube oil change

My husband had an oil change and undercoating late October. January, our vehicle broke down on his way home from work. He had the vehicle towed to our Hyundai dealer ship. Hyundai contacted him the following day stating the oil cap had fallen out, therefore all the oil drained and ceased the engine. Our receipt has no date or mileage recorded for our next oil change and no sticker was put in the windshield. This is over $9000 repair cost to us. He has attempted to contact economy lubes office with no success as they are ignoring his emails and phone call. We are seeking legal counsel to recover all costs.

Economy Lube wrong air filter installed

I took my 2011 ford ranger in for an oil change about 3 months ago. I was told I need a new air filter. I agreed. However I started developing isdues with ky truck. I took my ttuck to a mechanic and found out the air filter installed by you was wrong and was being sucked into the air intake chamber. This caused lack of air to engine and improper air to in efficiently firing of gas to run engine. I have had to replace plugs and wires and filter at my expense. I am now doubting that I was given an oil change at all, also was I given synthetic oil as paid for. I am very angry and will be posting bad reviews on every website if problem is not addressed. I have emclosed 2 pictures the one you installed and the the correct fitting one. I don't understand why an improper filter can be installed dince the iinformation is readly available on the internet. I also don't understand ìf you do not have the right part you would install a wrong part. You would build customer loyalty if you were honest and not a chop shop. Your error has now cost me $129 plus the $40 for the wrong filter you intalled.

Economy Lube tires

I went into economy lube to get oil change done back in july and they talked me into getting new tires, which i totally needed and they really did give me a good deal, but they made the deal sound like it was ending by the end of the week sort of thing.

So i bought the tires and now 6 mths down the road on my way up north on the 400 my front passenger side tire blows a hole. It is xmas eve day so imagine the hwy is crazy busy. I pull over to find a hole blew in my tire.

I went to canadian tire in new market only to find they didn't want to help me as they were closeing at 6pm, now keep in mind this is at 4:30 pm. I said "really, its like 4:30 and know one in here and your telling me you can't take 5 mins." to look at a tire. After arguing with the guy he finally takes a look at the tire and says "it can't be fixed", he says "your gonna have to take it slow and drive on your dummy". So i do, very nerve racking and scary. I had to drive another 2hrs to get to my destination. Anyway made it thank god. But too late to make calls for tire. Next day phone economy lube where i bought the tires only to find they are closed till wed, because of holidays. So i drive home from up north on my dummy as i had to be back at work for wed, so had no choice. Again scary drive and very nerve racking. Wake up wed morning call economy lube thinking it will be ok, they will just replace the tire as its only 6 mths old. No he informed me the warrenty does not cover holes, on the side of the tire only on the tread, i said it's like and inch away from the tread and your telling me that its not covered. Wow ok then, lesson learned do not buy tires from an oil and lube joint. So disappointed in their warranty and policies, total [censor]. So needless to say because they were the only ones to sell that brand of tire, i had to purchase another tire. Please do not buy your tires from them. They will stick it to you, trust me. Go to Canadian tire to buy tires and get your oil change at jiffy, or somewhere other than economy lube, they suck! very bad manners as well. They had to order my tire in as they had none in stock, hmm go figure, and he said he would call me when it came in. I waited like to hrs and hadn't heard anything so i called to see what was up, and he said do we have your number, i said yes and then all i heard was a click. The [censor] hung up on me. This was on upper gage at economy lube. Stay away bad bad people.

Economy Lube service

To anyone and everyone dealing with vehicle maintenance of any type, don't ever go to economy lube! They are scam artists who give the automotive industry a bad name! They should be closed and shut down asap! I made the mistake of going once to get an oil change and then they told me that I needed transmission flush and brake flush and I paid a significantly expensive cost and they only took only 10 minutes to do both! I checked the fluids and they were not changed. I got it professionally inspected and no work was done! This is the dixie/dundas location in mississauga ontario. f****** bull**** scam artists!

Economy Lube false accusations and harassment

I have been receiving harassing phone calls from Stephen Moxey (phone # [protected] ), and Chris Muter (phone # [protected] ), falsely accusing me of doing an oil change on a car that I have previously owned (the car hasn't been registered under my name since August 28th, 2013), and not paying for the service. The car was written off by my insurance company three months ago, and I haven’t owned the car since then. The oil change was apparently done on the 30th of October 2013, three months after the insurance took the car away from me. I have tried to explain this to Mr. Moxey countless times, but the harassing phone calls and false accusations won’t stop. I have contacted the police and my insurance company to aid me in this issue, and I have been informed by them to ignore the calls. This doesn’t comfort me much especially since they keep harassing me and have told me that they know where i live and work. In all, this whole ordeal has caused me much stress from them constantly calling me at night and in the morning at work.
I believe this issue could have been better resolved by them taking the matter up with the police and finding the current owner of the vehicle who went to do the oil change, as opposed to bombarding me with harassing phone calls and false accusations.

Mr. Moxey is a [censor] scam artist. People like him deserve to be in prison. He has stolen millions of dollars from performing fraudulent services for cars. He has been caught red handed here in this link below. YOu shouldnt pay him back. You should sue him.

Economy Lube scam

STAY AWAY! They posted a sign outside for an $18 oil change. It didn't say "starting at", just small print to see inside for details. When I took my car in they asked for the keys and said it would be ready in 10 minutes and didn't mention any 'details' (guess I had to ask). Ten minutes later they hadn't started. When they finally did start he rung up the price and said I owed $45. He said that my car needed "special" oil (that apparently is 2 1/2 times the price). I have a base model Hyundai Sonata. Nothing special about it. I refused to pay as he didn't tell me this price before starting the work. He checked and they had already done the work, so he agreed to discount it to $30. I refused to pay -- and got verbally aggressive with him so he backed off and charged the advertised price. He then challenged me to hit him then pointed at the camera. Unbelievable service. I looked around and they have no posted prices in the store.

Economy Lube seriously very bad experience with economy lube

I had my worst experience in my 11 years of stay In Canada at Economy Lube, Mississauga, ON today on Apr 21' 2011.
I went their for oil change servicing for my car. It was my third time I had gone in there.
Previously they had charged $25/- for oil change and ofcourse I got some other recommended changes as well done to my CRV
Today also I was advised for further oil flusing, gear oil change etc. I denied at which the Customer Service Rep got
offended and started yelling at me and used abusive language.
Then I said I had paid previously $25 but the Rep said now it's $40 only and used f words few times.
When this became unbearable, I got annoyed and told him bring out previous invoices and he can check.
The guy went wild and my wife got scared.
That was not it, he forced me to come out of the office and things started to go out of control at which time, my wife called 911.
Cops advised us there is no point in taking it any further, just stop coming here and file a complaint.
Based on my experience, all I can say is, It's a SHOP of people who wants to RIP you OFF with no reliable, honest and trust worthy servicing...

Agree: same happened to me in Mississauga Lube on October 19th 2012 morning. Went to change the oil with MY OIL. Was do that $17.64 plus tax advertised does not apply to customer's oil and was charged $29 instead. (NO UPFRONT telling of the price difference). Service personnel tried all the usual way to rip off: showing transmission fluid that was not mi and telling me to replaced it (done at 96-120k in Toyotas, not 47k), shown filters that are not mine.Personnel was rude. Office manager said that is not talking me and want me to leave. No resolution offered.

Very BAD experience - suggest everyone filing complaint with BBB (Better Business Bureau, since Economy Lube was rated with "A-", which is slightly over what I would give - "D"

Stay way from them. Not to be trusted.

I just took my car in there for a second emissions test with the same kind of result. I was in there last week, on April 26, and the guy told me to get all this work done at a service centre he recommended. I did the work he suggested myself then took the car back today - guess what, it failed again. The readings actually got worse. I should have known that something was fishy when I walked into the shop one of the service guys said, "Is the machine ok?" Do not go to this place - they will rip you off. Economy Lube at Hurontario just north of Derry Road in Mississauga - stay away!

Economy Lube stay away

My wife and I went to the Economy Lube location in Brantford on the afternoon of September 10th, 2008 with our 1995 Ford Explorer for a simple oil change and radiator flush but it didn't turn out to be so simple after all. Our Explorer was running like a dream and we've only had it for approximately 8 months. We paid a total of $2, 500 for it and it wasn't giving us any hint of any problems. We were just being sure to keep the maintenance up on it so that it would last us for quite some time.

This Economy Lube started checking things we never asked to be checked and we don't know a whole lot about cars ourselves so we were waiting in the lobby and next thing we know one of the employees comes walking up to us with a piece of metal and saying how we need to think about getting our differentials serviced in the future and we were told by this employee and by Mike, the manager there that our truck was in excellent shape other than needing the differentials serviced in the future and having a transmission flush done. We explained to them we couldn't afford to have these things done on this visit but would see about having them done on a future visit.

We paid our $146.00 for our oil change and radiator flush and drove on and went on our way not knowing our expecting for anything to be wrong with our Explorer. Just before we left, Mike the manager told us not to panic if we smelled any burning smell or if we saw anything leaking out of our truck because 'they use water to clean things after the oil change so that the oil doesn't leak down in the driveways'.

The next morning while my wife was driving to work our Explorer made a terrible clunking sound and died and we ended up having to have it towed off to a local shop here where we were told that somebody had left the fill plug out of the rear and all of the oil leaked out destroying the rear-end and that the rear-end would have to be replaced so I called the Economy Lube in Brantford and explained this situation to Mike the manager there to which he just kept saying 'Oh geeze!' Then he told me that I'd need to go in and fill out some kind of warranty paper and to not worry about the repair costs or anything because they would handle it. Of course going into an Economy Lube location that's over half an hour away from your house isn't very convenient without a car so I called the Economy Lube Administration number and explained the situation to a Customer Service girl who ended up putting Chris who identified himself as the General Manager of Economy Lube on the phone.

Again I was told not to worry about anything and to have the shop bill the repairs to them and they'd take care of everything and have our truck back to us as good as new. The shop here discovered when they went to replace the rear end that they wouldn't be able to without causing some other problems with the truck which they were told Economy Lube wouldn't cover paying for but they told me that Chris the General Manager had told them that if we wanted to go this route, he could just give us the costs it would've taken to repair the truck and we could put it towards getting another car. Of course we really DID NOT want to go this route because like I said we haven't had any sign of any problem with our Explorer, it's ran like a dream and we've only had it for about 8 months.

The costs of repairs was estimated to be at $1253.52 but after not being able to find or think of any other option I called Chris back and told him we just wanted the cash for the costs of repairs like he had offered. He then proceeds to tell me that either it can be fixed at 'their shop for $600.00 or he'd give us $600.00 cash' He said the shop we had it in was trying to overcharge us and those were our ONLY options.

Anybody who has ever had to have a rear end replaced on a Ford Explorer has to know that the $1253.52 price is not an overcharge. That is a costly repair and it involves lots of work, changing the fluids, loosening and taking off the brakes, putting them back on and tightening them...etc..etc..etc... So I told Chris that really wouldn't work and that he said he'd give us the costs of repairs in cash, that's what he told that shop it's in that he'd do and I need $1253.52. He then repeatedly told me he'd only give me $600.00 and that our truck is worthless anyway. How's that for customer service? F**k up somebody's car then try to short change the amount you'd be willing to give them to compensate for it?

Also who would trust a $600.00 rear end replacement that was done by a company that couldn't even handle doing an oil change and radiator flush without severely damaging your vehicle? Read this report and all the other reports about Economy Lubes in various locations and ask yourself if it's worth it to save time getting your oil changed by these kind of people? I don't think it is.

For the sake of your car, truck, van or whatever you're driving AVOID ECONOMY LUBE AT ALL COSTS! They do careless work, destroy your vehicle and have the worst Customer Service of all time. Here it is one week later and my wife is still having problems finding rides to and from work. She works about 30 miles away from our home and does Economy Lube care about the inconvenience they caused us? No. Have they tried to handle this situation and resolve it in a reasonable manner? No. It seems to me all they're concerned with is trying to save themselves all the money they can save themselves and care less about the customers who were wronged. Maybe they ### up everybody's car with the thought in mind that everybody will take their car back their to get it fixed afterwards and it'd be more money for them?

In any case I would suggest everybody avoid this company and let all your family and friends know to avoid this company too. Your car will thank you for it.

My issue was not actually about the service I went in for, but a promo they were running, and the way they figured all customers were stupid. To cut to the chase, after 3 phone calls and two extra visits to the shop, I find that the other wiper blade, that was suppose to be in stock days prior, hadn't even been ordered. The solution to this was to run to the shop nextdoor and grab one of their blades. When he went to install it for me, he then told the young worker not to open the package, and proceeded to tell me that I had to get my wipers from the dealer. Apparently BMW and a couple of Fords (including the Mustang) had to have special wiper blades. When I said they all fit, he became very argumentative. He wouldn't admit he was telling a lie to cover up either for lack of knowledge about installing, or to try to get out of the promo, then when I suggested that the problem was actually that they were two different blades and would look stupid together, all hell broke loose. I have both blades, but that is not good enough. Obviously their head office doesn't really concern themselves because I called there days ago and have yet to get a return call. A simple problem with a simple solution, turned into a customer service nightmare. I'm telling everyone I know and then some...DO NOT GO TO ECONOMY LUBE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE !

Paid for an oil change on February 10, 2016. The company over charges and used dirty oil for the oil change. It costs $43.00 for dirty oil and an oil filter. Do Not Use Economy Lube!

My cousin who lives in America told me over the phone that he went into one of these shady place's to have a oil change for $20 but when the technician came back after looking at the car he said that it needed the coolant, brake fluid, clutch fluid, transmission fluid, power steering fluid and that the car took some special expensive oil and quoted him over $375, luckily he used to be a mechanic but unfortunatly he has back problem's and therefore does not work on car's no more so he told them to f off off and that he is a ex mechanic and told them that all of the above fluid's apart from the engine oil had been changed 7 month's ago and because it was an automatic then why did they quote him for a clutch fluid drain and change and when he asked to speak to the manager the grease monkey started pleading with him that there was no point speaking to the manager because he was the one who told them to lie and rip people off and in turn the owner forces the staff to rip people off if not then they are out of a job. Eventually he did speak to the manager who started to blame both of the technician's and one of the technician's who was a big chap grabbed the lying manager around the neck and told him to confess that he was the the one who told them to lie and rip off customer's for work that was not needed and even worse was that they would charge you and not even do the work after that both of the technician's took their overall's off and told the manager that they will be telling everyone as to what happen's here and walked out all of this in front of my cousin. My cousin told him that he would tell everyone what a blatant ripoff this place was and the manager replied by stating that the owner bullied them into doing this and that they would get extra money every time they ripped people off and called it an up sell. My cousin is trying to do his best to warn anyone he can about this greedy scumy place and i hope someone take's them to court and this place is closed down, suprisingly enough i just watched this on you tube and i think these are the two technician's who quit and walked out of their rip off job and tell how they are forced into scamming customer's by the owner:

I feel sorry for you, my experience with them was also not good. I went there for the first time for oil change and will never go to Economy lube again. I went for a regular oil change to economy lube in Waterloo. They have written every where that it costs only $19.99 for regular oil change.
I was shown a bill of $180 the mechanic who seemed to be the brother of the other guy working on the cash register, said that I need to change brake oil, transmission oil and also I was told water gets mixed with engine oil. I refused for other oils. Any way, instead of $19.99 I was given a bill for $30.
They did not drain out the old oil, they put some new oil and told me that there was very less oil in the engine. When I asked did you drain out the old oil, the guy said yes. I told him I have been watching and I never saw you taking out the old oil. He said yes he did. When I came home and checked the oil myself, it looked black and it does not look fresh oil at all. I knew that the guy was lying to me.
They are cheating people, when I discussed this with one my friend he also had similar experience with them.
