Economy Rent a Car everything

I rented a car through Expedia. The deal seam amazing. Come to find out once I got to Santo Domingo, Dom. Rep. to pick up the car they added more "required" insurance even though I paid for insurance through Expedia. It took over two hours to get the car although, I was the only costumer being helped!
Fine, I ended up getting the car, but a few days later the car broke down. It was heating up, we couldn't get to the location we were heading to. We had to leave the car a few blocks away in fear that if we kept driving it would explode. It took them like 3 hours to get us a new car. It was very inconvenient because we were at a friend's house and it was getting very late.
2nd car also had problems. While we were driving there was traffic and when we slowed down the car turned off by itself. It did it a few times. I had to drive it to a location I was close by to exchange it for a 3rd car.
The 3rd car was also having problems when the AC was on, it started to heat up so we would have to turn off the AC and put down the windows in very hot weather! I was not happy at all!
On my departure day, I went to return the vehicle ready to complain but the manager was not there. They told me that they would not process my payment and have the manager call me to see if there could be some sort of discount for all my troubles. Next day, payment was process and I did not receive a call, so I called. Manager was not there again. Apparently they gave me a 10% discount on the remainder balance... Oh They also charge me for not having enough gas on the damage cars that I couldn't even move.
I paid $332.19 for the car, $242 for the Expedia insurance and $408.96 for the insurance they made me get plus gas, and that's with the 10% discount. For a grand total of $983.15 which is the most I've ever pay for a car rental with such horrible cars and service. I'm never renting from Economy ever again! I wanted to save a few dollars since they seem to have the best deal but ended up paying so much more and having so much trouble. Stick to Avis and Budget!

Mi nombre es Luis R. Perez Goris residente del estado de Massachusetts en los Estados Unidos. El pasado mes de julio me propuse realizar unas vacaciones familiares en Santo Domingo, RD por lo cual a través de Expedia la cual utilizo regularmente, hice una reservación de un vehículo a su compañia Economy.

Esta reservación fue realizada el pasado 10 de julio de 2018 a las 11:50 am, a través de la Expedia.com
(A) Fecha de la Reservación - 15 de julio hasta el 19 de julio
(B) No. de Itinerario - [protected]
(C) Confirmacion - EEXPN02D584A
(D) Total de la renta de Auto - $122.08 doláres por los 5 días
(E) Plan de Daños por Colisión - de $11.00 doláres diariosTotal $55

Nesecito hacer una reclamación de la devolució de $50, 00 que me estan cargando de No Show Fee. El 15 de julio llegué al mostrador en las afuera del estacionamiento del Aereopuerto de Las Américas a esos de las 3:30 am. La persona que me atendió en el mostrador no quisó cumplir con ninguno de los acuerdos, que este servidor había reservado el pasado 10 de julio a través de la reservación hecha por Expedia.com. Lo cual me ví en la obligación de Cancelar Mi Reservación en ese Momento y lo cual la persona no Canceló por Incumplimiento de Contrato.

Le detallo lo siguientes:

(1) No tenían el Vehiculo Reservado.

(2) Queria retenerme $1, 500.00 doláres por el alquiler. Diciéndole yo
que anteriormente había alquilado carros y nunca habia dejado tal
cantidad. Lo más había dejado eran unos $600.00 dolares, le dije.
Inmediatamente me dijo a pues yo te retengo $600.00 doláres. Me
hizo dudar dejar mi Tarjeta de Crédito y mi Identificación.

(3) Quería cobrarme más cantidad de dinero de los $122.08 de la
reservación.

(4) Me cobraría $25.00 doláres adicionales por entregar el Vehículo en
el local de la Ave. Independencia. Lo cual tampoco accedí, porque
dice en su Website que se puede devolver el vehiculo en
cualquiera de los otros locales libre de costo.

(5) Me quería cobrar otro Monto Adicional por el "Seguro Full" le
indique que tenía "Plan de Daños Por Collisión". Me dijo que este
tipo de Plan, no funciona en República Dominicana. Deseaba
cobrarme una Suma Mayor a la renta del Vehículo.

(6) Por último me insinuo que si le aportaba algo en efectivo,
podíamos llegar a algún arreglo y conseguiría um buen vehículo.
Immediatamente le pedí mi Pasaporte, Tarjeta de Crédito y me fuí
del lugar.

Ahí mismo cancelé toda mi reservación con Economy Rent A Car porque sentí me querían estafar. No iba a dejar mis documentos personales, ni mi tarjeta de Crédito con ese Tipo de Empleado.
Por estás razones les solicito la devolución de mis $50.00 doláres a mi Tarjeta de Crédito, por favor porque yo sí me presente a recoger el vehículo. No me sentí con la confianza, ni las mejores atenciones. Espero su respuesta lo antes posible. Gracias

Economy Rent a Car rent car

We rented a car on March 26 to be pick up on March 27th, 2018 in the Dominican Republic. We were to pick up the car at 10am 3/27/18. When we arrived (15ppl) with kids included after traveling all night, they told us they did not have cars available. They told us come back but we were at the airport with nothing else to do but to cancel our reservation. Since then, we have contacted the website plus called both companies, CarRentals.com and Economy Rent Car to obtain a refund with no luck. Now after more than one months they said they can not give us our money back because the price we have was low. These companies are to be check by consumer affairs because they are ripping customers that are working hard to go on vacation with their families.

Economy Rent a Car horrible service. stranded in mexico and economy could not care less!

Booked a car rental from Economy car rental on February 24, 2018. They gave the booking to America Car Rental in Mexico. Instead of $ 100, it cost me $ 575 for the rental with all the hidden fees. This is the scam that Economy and America Car Rental have worked out.
The 2nd day, the car broke down in Playa Del Carmen, and no one answered the number given to us for repair or customer service the entire week. America Car Rental is a scam company, and Economy passes their booking to them, so they can get paid more for the rental.
Economy Car Rental is a Greek Car Agency in Greece. When you call customer service, you get a company in Greece. They could not have cared less, and hung up on me as fast as they could.
We were scammed for the entire booking, and want a full refund.

Economy will not answer any of the emails I have sent with supporting documents. They send the standard email, so that they look like they have responded, and then do absolutely nothing. If I do not hear from them by friday, I will prepare the court papers, and file suit on Monday, 4/30/2018.

Economy Rent a Car hired car service in south africa, durban

I am a south african that has used your service. i was charged an amount of ZAR 2963, and was told by Athina of your customer service that this was for part payment on behalf of the car rental company. However, the upon collection of the car the car rental company charged full amount and said that ECR does not collect money on their behalf. They have no relationship or contract with ECR. Since than I have been trying to get a refund from ECR without any luck. They admitted fault and an error in amount collected but have not refunded any monies. I have all the emails and correspondence and hope that you can assist us.

This is fraud and they cannot have hidden charges. They refuse to issue any invoice for the monies taken and this is unacceptable in our country. my email address is shanita.[protected]@live.co.uk

Economy Rent a Car I reserved a car on priceline on 12/21 for a car at liberia, costa rica airport for 12/24 to 12/31 and had a horrible experience!

To Whom it May Concern,
I reserved a car on 12/21 for a car in Liberia, Costa Rica for 12/24 to 12/31 for $366.30.(see picture of receipt) I arrived on 12/24 with my family at 10pm in Liberia, as planned, and the Economy representative said he had no cars available that night. We knew we had over an hour to our villa and no one was around on Christmas Eve to help us. For an hour we were unsure what to do in a different country with no one to help us. Finally the same representative approached us and said he found a car for us, but it was bigger than what we booked. We were feeling desperate and said we would take it. We got to the Economy facility and they proceeded to tell us we HAD to pay for insurance and more for the car. At about midnight, (Christmas) we were devastated, but decided we had to sign the papers so we could get to the place we were staying. They charged us $821.26. (see receipt) They COMPLETELY took advantage of us on Christmas day-what a nightmare!
We returned the car with a full tank of gas on 12/31 before we said we would because we were concerned they would find something else to charge us for. We were right, they said there was an additional scratch on the back bumper and we HAD to pay an additional $329. (see receipt) We did not hit anything, but another car could have hit the back when we were parked. There were already many scratches on the car with over 66, 000 miles on it, and we wondered what the insurance was for that we HAD to pay. Yes, we ended up paying over $1150 for this car, and this experience completley ruined our vacation. We had a horrible experience with Economy and we KNOW you would want to know this. PLEASE help us with this situation and we will appreciate it!
