eBay I got ripped off for 938.00 on ebay and they don't care

I found a reasonably priced 150cc Scooter on Ebay. Sent a bank check for the sum of 938.00, and I got a Junk Scooter that wont start! Its been a year now and I’m still pissed because the thing sits in my basement and still wont start! I bought it from a Scammer named Rak on Ebay. His Ebay store is called Netnetstore. He is located in Lorain Ohio. I talked to everyone there except for him. I talked to his Mechanic, who stated he’s just a Ford mechanic. I talked to the receptionist, who always says he’s gone or in a meeting. He did send me some parts but they didn’t help and most of those parts were for the lights. What a rip-off!

I think many people do not check the ads for specific information before they buy. Did you ask for information from the seller such as how old is it, does it run, and any other thing you can do to avoid a rip off. Did you get a picture, did you complain to ebay?
I ALWAYS check other ads to see if the price is out of range, and I often read the sellers and buyers columns about rip offs to identify the likelihood this is one of those kinds of sales that I could lose $ on. I did not see you say you talked to ebay or what they said. Yes there are scammers, buyer beware is all over ebay for the people who listen. Sorry on your loss!

eBay scam

Be careful of this company, they make promises of making thousands by giving away free software, they also claim that it was designed by a ebay software developer, and it is ebay certified.

IT IS NONE OF THE ABOVE!

They will rip you off for $199 and $30 a month for a "license" to give away free software called shopping genie.

I was ripped off for $197 and $30 a month until I discovered that the software they refer to as shopping genie was actually something YOU CAN GET FOR FREE at ebay, called "ebay to go"
they are charging $197 for this!

Dont fall for this scam!

I have been doing business on Ebay for years now and now I am literally scratching my head, I was a top rated seller on their site and was doing great until April 2012, during this time my sales had plummeted and I am not kidding, by 95%. I went to my seller dashboard and I noticed that my Seller performance was like it always has been, almost perfect with no complaints, I was further confused at what could be wrong, so I called Ebay and they pointed to the Buyer Protection cases and there was the problem, during April I had 3 cases concerning a product all were taken care and the customers left glowing feedback on my speed and willingness to solve their problem in a professional and quick manner. OK, so you would think no harm no foul, not the case, it seems Ebay does not take into consideration of you solving the problem, the strike goes against you because a complaint was filed, regardless of the outcome. In my opinion this is micro managing at its worse, I am totally disoriented and confused about a policy that would punish you regardless of the outcome. Yes, I am upset with this and I do intend to send a report to my congressman to look into Ebay's policy on this and see if any business related regulations are being violated.

Ebay can and will STEAL money from your paypal account. If you can finally get them to admit to taking the money, they will say it is within their rules and you have no recourse. This is STEALING pure and simple. If you ask them to read you the RULE they are applying, their answer is "its in there". It is not in there. I have read and reread every paragraph of "fine print" available and nothing gives them any right to remove money from your account without permission or notice. This action is classified as THEFT!

I just was burned by ebay and its famous buyer protection scam, I have several hundred positive feedback been selling a long time with good reviews. One woman from Brentwood California just burned me very good by purchasing a bottle of Chanel and when she received it she claimed it was not authentic, I have previously had the bottle authenticated and because it came from a family member who had passed I knew its entire history, date of manufacture, bottle designer ect. she was allowed by ebay to stomp her feet open a case and even when I provided all documents and receipts they still sided with her, well it just got to my house today and guess what. Its NOT my bottle of Chanel its been filed on the back and is 1/2 empty, what did ebay do? They gave her my Chanel and her money. They are legal gangsters. I added her to [redacted] and that's all I can do. I like the signature above "if you cant afford to lose it, don't sell it on ebay" I have closed my account and will never do business there again.

On March 9, 2013 I bought a 1956 Chevy pickup form SportsCar LA using the Buy It Now option thru eBay. I talked to them first telling them that the truck would need to be shipped to Custer SD on April 16th. I was told it would be no problem and would cost $7-800 (ACTUAL COST $1300). It took until 3/14 to get an invoice that spelled out those details. I paid in full by bank wire within 20 minutes. I finally rec'd an assignment of title 3/29 after much prompting. They had never actually held title. They said that was normal. They kept telling me they would get shipping arranged. They missed the promised date even tho I had spent $1000+ to get to the delivery poiint. (I have two homes and had to fly to Custer -- which they knew). When it became clear that they would not get delivery accomplished I asked for my money back. They refused. I told them I would post negative feedback. When I said I'd go to eBay's Buyer Protection they coerced me out of it. They finally delivered on 4/29 (Sunday). I had left Custer and had to get someone to receive. I posted NEGATIVE FEEDBACK and they got it canceled accusing me of feedback extortion. AVOID THEM.

Hi.I showed interest in a caravan on vottle.com.I got mail then from eBay and paid R34 000.Mails flow between me, eBay and the seller. All the same things of divorce, and, and, and.It bacame fishy when it seemed like the woman sending me mails and the one form eBay are one and the same person as the style of writing looked the same.To make a long story short. I lost my money today. She first told me 3 times that I can get my money back and when I wanted it back - she tells me that I first have to pay the outstanding balance and then get the money back.

Bait & switch operation. Do not order from them.

I purchased a 512MB Compact Flash for $88.50. I recevied a call from them the next day saying that the price was now $147. They put low prices on their web site to get high ranking on the price comparison sites but when you try to purchase it, they switch the price.

If they advertise a price, they need to honor it!

Mark rothstein almost got away with taking 67, 000 dollars from me today but thank god i read all the bad reviews about him, and my bank stopped the transaction he won my item and conviced me to use payment via bank wire instead of paypal, ach deposit but what he does is take peoples items and reverses the transaction and gets his money back and the item for free. But my bank changed my account before he could even start his scam, thanks to reading this board. Thank you all for reporting scammers like this, they are bottom feeders ###

This ebay seller russmay sold me a diamond bracelet ($375) and I returned it for a refund. She refused my refund and then sold & shipped the bracelet to someone else. She collected full price plus shipping from both of us for this 1 item and still refused my refund. I have filed criminal charges for petty larceny and am also filing in small claims court.

If you choose to buy jewelry on ebay, save yourself from fraud and theft and do not buy from ebay seller russmay. Russmay is an ebay nightmare who also engages in feedback extortion. I was a fool to buy 3 items from her! She agreed to send my items back to me if I changed my feedback to positive and then she sold one of them in another auction! I did receive 2 of the 3 items back and am reselling them due to their bad energy for me.

Don't make the same mistake I did! Check my feedback on her ebay seller's feedback page for Sept 2012 - I am tahoeangels- the first buyer of the 14k diamond tennis bracelet for $375 (plus shipping). I have had over 8 years of 100% positive buying experience on ebay until I met this seller, who has now gotten my account suspended because I named her publicly and that was against ebay policy. (How can you not name someone publicly when you file criminal charges and sue them?) Oh well, I was done with ineffective, inefficient ebay anyway after they could not do a thing to help resolve this loophole for blatant fraud. I have wasted a lot of precious time and it stinks that I have to spend anymore in court! Beware of online thieves & liars & always use a credit card through PayPal if you must use Paypal. Good luck-stay safe!

Unfair collections $22.61. Debt is not my debt. Victim of id theft. Never had an ebay account fixing to turn me over to collections for this debt sent them a 4 letters in the mail saying I am victim of id theft, they refuse to do anything. Charging me a 1.5 Apr late fee every month. Keep on sending harassment e-mails have told them to stop. I have made a number of calls to Dan Janakas of ebay at [protected] they refuse to respond. Account ID E164104785001 is not my account credit card stolen that was used to set this account up. EBay Global Collections needs to go pawn sand because I refuse to pay a debt I did not do I did not list anything.

eBay overdue account

I am disabled and am now unable to work, and somehow Ebay screwed me with my seller fees.I paid over 1/2 and made payment arrangements with them, and then all of a sudden these rude ### people from IC Systems started calling me.
I explained my situation to one of the IC Systems representitives.and was told that collection efforts will continue.
If I find out they have somehow tapped my phone line and called people that I call on a regular basis, not only will I file FEDERAL Charges, I will make every attempt to be there at their home office with Federal Agents to affect the arrest.

And if they try to hack into my PC, that would be the biggest and last mistake IC will ever make.

I also have my phone wired to record all calls now.So IC Systems, consider this your notice that your calls to my phone are being recorded and will be used as evidence.

Now piss off!

I have been using their service for a while and I really enjoy their wonderful service. I use to search constantly for a good supplier for my small business and that use to be such a big headache. Now I don’t have to look any more because not only did I find a good supplier, I also made new friends that take care of me. I am now a big buyer, and that gives me many privileges within GOGOEC.COM. you can rest assured that the sellers here are serious about taking care of your needs. Because of GOGOEC.COM, my business is growing bigger everyday. i recommend this site to everyone that want to make their business bigger and get more profits.

eBay asks for social security number

Ebay/PayPal have a new scam now. We had an account with both and were actively selling for several months. We had a perfect 100% feedback rating. Suddenly and without warning eBay and PayPal suspended our accounts. eBay cancelled all of our auctions and had the nerve to demand payment for the fees too! Since the auction info is wiped out we have no idea what the correct fees should even be. They claimed the suspension was due to "issues" with our Paypal account and we needed to resolve them first. We went to our PayPal account and it said that there had been "suspicous activity". ? No explaination. It asked for three things. A. verify our phone number, which we did. Fine. B. Verify that we had shipped a particular customers item. We researched the item and the customer had only paid for it twelve minutes before Ebay suspended our account! How fast do they expect us to be! And this on a Sunday too! C. Now the last one is a real doosey. They want my SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER ! What are they nuts! There is NO reason in the world they need that! They claim it's to verify my identity. What? The only way they could verify that is to take my number and do a credit check, and I never authorized them to do that nor will I. I will be filing suit in small claims court today. It will cost them at least for an attorney to come to court and defend them. I will also let everyone I know what they are trying to do to decent working people. It's wrong and the only way to stop them is to expose them. So pass the word, tell all your friends what Ebay and PayPal are all about.

Before I post my usual post here, I would like to correct "The dude that hates ebay". You are wrong. Paypal ALWAYS Asks for your SS# after the account has been open for a little while. It has happened to me. They plan on soon reporting all income to paypal accounts to the IRS. Trust me, I know. Now for my usual post about my experience with Ebay and Paypal and their scams and monopolies:

I signed up to ebay about a month ago, and was subject to and experienced the Ebay/Paypal Monopoly first hand. I did not want to use Paypal to accept payments as I already have my own merchant account with First Data and they are half the price of Paypal. When listing my first item, I scrolled to the part where it asked how I would like to be paid. I un-checked Paypal, and checked credit card. On the next screen it said that in order to accept credit cards I had to fax a copy of my merchant account invoice to them to prove to them that I can support this method of payment. I faxed them the necessary documents, and the games began. 2 days went by and no message from them about what was going on. Then I called them and was asked why I did not want to use paypal, and that it is the preferred payment of ebay. I explained to them my situation, and they said they would look into the situation, and they would get back to my via email. I waited another 2 days, and nothing. I called them again, and they brought me to the listing page, and they walked me through and told me to click Paypal for payments accepted, and I told them I did not want to accept Paypal, and they were dumbfounded and did not know what to do. They knew nothing about how to integrate my merchant account. They told me I have to wait for T&S to contact me. The next morning I called them again, and was once again told to just use Paypal and recieved a pitch on how they were safe and secure. I asked to speak to a manager, and they told me the manager was not available. I then called again and they finally got to the bottom of things. I listed a couple of items, and after the first one ended, the buyer told me there was no way for him to pay. I called ebay again and they told me there was a "Pay Now" button in the email that was automatically sent to them after the auction ended. The buyer told me there was nothing there. I got this same response from every winning bidder that day. I called ebay and they once again told me that I should accept Paypal for payments until they get the situation fixed. I told them I would not pay for the listing fees so far and they told me I have to pay them, and that it is like listing an ad in the paper and the listing fees are non-refundable. The next day they told me that they fixed the problem, and then I listed a couple items, and everything seemed to be good, until the first auction was down to the last minute. The account was blocked by Paypal, and I was informed that they needed more information on my Paypal account in order for the account suspension to be lifted. I called ebay and they told me the block was from Paypal. I called Paypal and they asked for my SS# and receipts for the items I was selling. I told them I never opened a Paypal account, and they told me regardless, they would still need the information in order to lift the suspension, and until then, the account would remain blocked. I called Ebay and they told me there was in fact a Paypal account linked to my ebay account and that there was nothing they could do. Now, I NEVER opened a Paypal account nor did I link it to my ebay account. To me, this is yet another shady desperate attempt by Ebay to force new members that do not know any better to use Paypal to accept Paypal so they can make money from every angle. When I call them and tell them this whole scenario, they ask me if there is anything they can help me with, otherwise the phone call will be disconnected. They no longer respond to my email regarding this and they told me that if I keep contacting them through ebay live chat that they would bring up charges for Harassment. What a way to run a company. I also notice that when you post ANY negative comments about ebay that are valid in the ebay forums, the comments are removed and you are banned from posting in their forums. They are trying to cover up anything negative about their company, but truth be told..., check out Ebay and Paypal on the Better Business Bureau and see all the complaints they have since January. There are well over 10, 000 of them. Ebay soon will be a thing of the past and they will continue to lose thousands of members a week to Amazon, just like me.

eBay conceals paypal thefts and internet fraud crimes

TRUE STORY of eBay concealment of PayPal thefts, Internet fraud and cover-ups...

So a customer bought my $500 item on eBay... Now I'm happy, right? I checked PayPal and money's there. Now I get the package ready to ship...

But just as I get ready to go to the Post Office, that little voice in the back of my head says, «I’ll maybe just take a look at PayPal again... "

And EUREKA - the payment had been REVERSED... Just literally minutes before the expensive item was to be mailed out - NO MONEY!

So I call eBay to get details and report it to the authorities, but they can't reveal any ' Top Secret ' details of a (FEDERAL) offence - Mail Fraud...

NO reason for the reversal... NO info on Buyer... NO EXPLANATION for eBay's GROSS NEGLIGENCE in failing to call, e-mail or in any way inform me (the happy Seller) of whatever problem had arisen BEFORE the item was shipped...

IF the item had been shipped, imagine the hassles trying to recover it (or get $$ back on an uninsured item - since Buyer did not pay for insurance)... and eBay has FAILED to ever explain, apologize or give any details on the CRIME committed... and NO evidence on any prosecution or punishment...

Nope, eBay just wants to cover up MAJOR CRIMES and THEFTS and FRAUDS - not prevent or solve them...

CBS' 60 Minutes revealed a major crime ring stealing $2, 000, 000 in merchandise from Home Depot - and SELLING IT ALL HAPPILY ON eBay... even after Home Depot told eBay what was happening, eBay did NOTHING to stop it...

Imagine - they will suspend people for simple (and unjustifiable) Negative feedbacks w/o prior notice or opportunity to present contrary evidence, but FEDERAL CRIMES? WIRE FRAUD, INTERSTATE MAIL FRAUD ? ? just let 'em slide...

I had purchased 2 GPC navigational systems off ebay for approx. 76.00 each. I waited, no product. I emailed and emailed with no return response. I contacted ebay and pay pal. Of course, I had paid. Only later to find that this person or person had sold hundreds of these with multiple complaints over a 3 month time span with ebay doing nothing to correct this. Ebay knew this was a scam and did nothing to protect buyers. So, I made my case to pay pal and won. Ha, ha... I never saw a dime of the money! I have never bought on ebay or used pay pal again. It's only a scam! Where is the better business companies when you need them. If I sold a fraudulent product I would go to jail. Ebay and Pay Pal just make more money.

eBay terrible service!

I have recently started using eBay and have purchased two items and made a few bids on other items. One of the items I recently purchased was a server, and I immediately paid for the item using PayPal. The money was received by the seller. The next thing I knew, I received a notice from eBay that my winning bid was canceled, and that I was suspended for 'abuse'.

I have made multiple attempts to get an answer as to what constituted this 'abuse'. All I am given is a generic canned answer that says nothing. The customer service at eBay is not providing any service to the customers. I was very concerned about the $560.00 that I had already paid the seller, and immediately called him.

I left a message, and reported the incident to PayPal. The merchant responded immediately to the PayPal inquiry, and claims he has already shipped the server, and has no idea why the bid would have been canceled. He says he had nothing to do with it. I have received a form letter from eBay wanting me to fax them all kinds of sensitive personal financial documentation, that frankly seems a down right invasion of my privacy and none of their business.

I am not asking them for a loan, and they are not providing me with anything other than a service. I don't give my barber this information, and he is happy to cut my hair. I have not reported anyone for anything on the system, have yet to leave any feed-back, as I still have not received either purchase. So I am in the dark as to what I could possibly have done to be banned indefinitely from eBay.

There is no one to talk to at eBay who either cares to help, or has the ability to help. This is a personal slight, and I am very upset over this. eBay has called my integrity into question, and doesn't have the decency to even explain what I am accused of. All they point to is the following:

'...we may limit, suspend, or terminate our service and user accounts, prohibit access to our website, remove hosted content, and take technical and legal steps to keep users off the Site if we think that they are creating problems, possible legal liabilities, or acting inconsistently with the letter or spirit of our policies.'

I have done nothing in violation of this clause to my knowledge. Searching the internet seems to show that this happens quite frequently at eBay. What I am most concerned with now, is my personal account information. I am a service engineer, and I currently am working in China. It could be possible that my account has been hijacked and someone has violated this policy. But I cannot get a response from eBay as to the nature of the violation, so I can't confirm that this might be the case. In any event, I will not be faxing eBay copies of my driver's license, passport, banking information, utility bill, or anything else that they are requesting from me.

I was certain the email I received was a phishing attempt, but logging into eBay confirms that the account is blocked, and the same email is in my inbox there. I had heard such good things about eBay. I now have to wonder what is going on here. I am not a seller. I am not a re-seller of any goods I purchase there. I am just a guy that likes to look for good deals and who doesn't have a lot of time at home to shop.

Ebay offered me a way to locate things and have them at home when I finally get back. I am so upset over this mess, more due to eBay's lack of concern than I could ever have thought I would be. I hope that posting my complaint and concern here will generate some kind of decent reply from eBay. I don't see how they can stay in business when this is how they treat customers.

There's a pattern here. Ebay is going after people that have excellent feedback and appear to have no real issues that warrant investigation. They are demanding personal information that is NOT their business. I'm not sure of their motive. Perhaps they are working on marketing their credit card or getting into the telemarketing data sales game. ( companies sell you personal info to other companies looking to sell you something. It's a multi billion dollar business! ) It could be something else but whatever it is Ebay and PayPal ( owned by ebay ) is getting a little too personal. They asked me for my social security number and bank account numbers to "verify my identity" GO POUND SAND! If enough people REFUSE TO GIVE EBAY/PAYPAL THEIR PERSONAL INFO it will hurt them in sales. If you have been damaged by ebay suspending your account, go after them in small claims court in YOUR jurisdiction not theirs. make them pay, make them work for their defense.

eBay no trust and safety

PLEASE READ

So it appears that once you are suspended you can never be involved with eBay, even though I had a stellar performance, what I seem to see is that I have 26 negative feedbacks totally and a positive feedback score of over 3600, now my calculations say that is less than 1 percent.

What I asked is what I need to do be involved with eBay again, apparently there is nothing I can do.

Please be specific about what I need to do resolve this and or be specific that you never never ever ever want to deal with me.

You probably will not respond, as you have already indicated in this email. Regards, Bill Pfeiffer

Dear Bill,

I reviewed our records and found that you were suspended due to violations of our Seller Non-Performance policy. ebay is killintg a lot of jobs and has gone crazy with the new DSR system. It is clearly unfair. I had zero negative feed back and Zero Neutral feedback and over 100, 000 positive feed back. Still my account has been perminatly suspended.

My last email to ebay:

I have taken quite some time to review my account suspension. I believe that my suspension is in error for the following reasons. 1- My 12 month DSR is in the green (in good standing) for all aspects except for the shipping time category were we are at 4.38 2- My 3 month DSR is good in all aspects except for shipping time it at 4.39 3- In 2009 I was a gold power seller going towards platinum as we were in the process of adding new inventory and a (TOP rated seller). We can get back to that level. 4- We had some shipping speed problems that caused lots of undeceived item cases. Almost all items are now received except a few that we can reship and we know how to avoid this in the future. 5- We had our account restricted and were unable to sell on EBay since March. We were waiting for our DSR shipping time to get back up and were resolving shipping issues. Our DSR was improving as you can see we did not generate any new 1s and 2s in the last 30 days DRR rating. On May 10th our account was blocked even if improvements did occur. 6- All the negative feedbacks we received 10 in total out of more that 3500 positives are in a 60 day period indicating that we were great sellers before and can be great sellers again. We have the ability to do it. 7- Since we started selling on EBay we generated more than a million $ in sales in total. We are restructuring our shipping department and understand what caused our low shipping time DSR. It will not happen again. We want to continue to resolve remaining issues and start selling on EBay again. Please do not let our shipping time problems kill our EBay account

eBay bought 1992 grand marquese and never received car!

On january 23rd I received a phone call from a gentleman by the name of don rahim I became interested in a 1992 grand marquese, I saw on ebay I had only been a member 1 week where someone got hold of my information and bidded on other cars that I did not bid on, which made other members quite upset. So ebay suspended me before they did this I was in the process of buying a car from don rahim at auto exspo. I sent him my money 3, 590.00 byexspress mailon 1/24 08 the shipping cost were included in the 590.00dollars 3,000 was for car payment. Don rahim discovered that I was no longer an registered member and refused to ship the car nor return my money, he has ignored my phone calls he answered the phone everyday during my buying this car from him and has registered the car on his car lot with my insurance information, so someone else in huntinton ny is going to be driving around with my information.in ny whats worst since I am no longer a registered member I take it ebay wont do anything don rahim if this is his real name used the fact that I am no longer an ebay member too exstort money from me. Whats even worst I told him I just lost a car too a dealer that sold my car off his lot because he did not get repair money fast enuogh to work on my car so not only am I out of one car I am out of 3,590.00 and 2 cars I have 2 children in school. I bought this car too replace what happened to the last one its not fair for someone too do this and get away with it my car was my means of transportation for me and my children this man took something from me I worked hard for and its not right.

This is a buyers market. If you are a seller ebay takes 12% of your sales and they charge you to list all your items. Also after they take all that money when a buyer pays via paypal (which ebay owns) they take another 3% of the total. (not the amount minus what they deducted, the full total). Only buyers can leave negative feedback. So if a buyer never pays etc you can't even leave neg or neutral feedback. So very unfair that they can leave neg for you and you can't even leave neutral for them. How can you warn others about them?

I am a regular seller on ebay, recently they have suspended my account after listing several items the first time they were removed by ebay claiming trademark infringement. After a long and painful process of getting my item approved I re-listed the item and received an email from the Ebay's CEO stating that from now on sellers will be given a few days notice to fix any problems that may occur with a listing. As of today my entire account is suspended and all the work of getting my items approved were for nothing because I am suspended for the same reason. The item in question is a Real Gucci Purse I purchased from Ebay. So it was acceptable to sell it once but not again apparently. All of the other listings that were removed from ebay did not violate any policies but were removed anyway. close to $1000.00 in listings total.

I would like ebay to live up to its word and have a customer service department that can resolve issues not just read back whats on their computer screen. I would also like all of my listings put back with a disclaimer from ebay stating it was their fault for the removal of my listings and not me. Its hard enough as it is to make a good reputation for yourself as a seller to have Ebay itself tarnish my rep when I am not at fault.

I want to warn potential buyers of Movado watches, they are being scammed on ebay auction. They are just selling the fake watches. I paid a huge amount for a good healthy watch which was supposes to receive by me but in fact I received something else. We members are getting stolen from ignorant and unscupolpos sellers on ebay. I am already felt sick by seeing people bid good money on obvious fakes and otherwise suspicious auctions. I bid on Movado watch, my favorite, and felt great whole day I bid on this item. When I received, it was in really bad condtion. Its jewel has come out and one hand was bad screwed and do not agree to move on. Oh!..ebay said that their responsibility gets over once the item is shipped and so they cant help me in anyway. This is purely a scam scam scam! I hate to say that I waste my money on garbage.

i bought a set of victoria secret pajama for US$48.48 (include shipping to indonesia) from ebay seller (ID: brensco) on august 13, 2012
i have paid it via paypal, and i unfortunately haven't received the item until now
it's been more than 2 months and i found out that ebay only covers a purchase less than 45 days :(
i tried to contact the seller on Sept 8, 2012 and they said that the postal service (USPS) informed them that i should allow AT LEAST 8 weeks for delivery of a package to certain foreign countries due to increased security measures
so i decided not to worry and give them more weeks to wait for it
weeks passed i never got the item i bought, so i sent them another email on October 11, 2012
i got a reply telling me that they're on vacation and should be back on october 15, 2012
however, they never reply my email since then
i know that i should report for a dispute before 45 days
but in my defense, i've tried to contact the seller before then (like ebay suggested)
and the seller seemed to be sure it would be delivered,
they also provide a delivery service with tracking number (which i found out now was not helping at all)
so i've never guessed i would be scammed
i tried to contact both ebay & paypal about this issue minutes ago for a solution
i have all the correspondences on my inbox in case they need proves

I've been using ebay since 2001 and while being a buyer is great, especially when you're looking to score something cool for a cheap price. Unless you're looking for a really hard to find item, say something from your childhood. Then I would recommend sites like Amazon, GoHastings, etc. instead. As a seller on the other hand, let's just say that I have a few horror story's that I could tell you. One instance, while I was studying Graphic Design I opened up an ebay store and sold custom made t-shirts and hoodys. The primary color was Black, but I gave customers the option to pick from various colors. Well one day I had an order for one of my hoody's. So I made it. Packaged it. Mailed it and informed the customer it was on it's way and thanked them ever so much for their business. Only to get a very nasty and rude email a few days later saying they did not receive what they ordered. Apparently when they placed their order they requested the hoody in White. Yet when I brought up the invoice and even showed it to them, there was no mention anywhere that they wanted it in White and not the primary Black. After making numerous attempts to satisfy the customer. They were rude, insulted me, and filed a dispute against me over the whole ordeal. When I offered to replace them item with the White hoody, when all they had to do was send the "wrong" hoody back. Which they down right refused to do. Ebay and Paypal then shut down my store, and gave the customer a refund without even investigating(which they're supposed to do/even says so in their damn policy). I then presented Ebay and PayPal proof of the invoice from the customers order, that it in fact did not state anything about a "white hoody" they did nothing! It wasn't until I threatened them with legal action that they retracted the dispute, found in my favor and allowed me to once again do business. And that was just one instance. Many times I have had paypal with hold funds from me, because someone said they didn't get what they paid for. Only to have me fight with them(Paypal and Ebay), showing proof time and time again. Then they refund me the money they illegally with held, and find in my favor. Ebay is a rip off. They charge you 3x to use their services. They charge you to sell stuff(list items), they charge you when you sell an item, and since they own Paypal they charge you a third time to use that service. It's a monopoly and they will violate their own Terms & Service Agreement that you are sworn to uphold time and time again. If I had the money I would put Ebay out of business with competition. After all, why should Ebay make money off of something you bought with your own hard earned money? In the end F**K EBAY! 'Nuff said!

I used EBAY>COM web site to list an IPAD. I received emails from Ebay for listing, selling, invoicing, then payment received. The money never arrived in my paypal account. I called and was told if emails sent to my email account were not also in my Ebay messages list, they were spoofs. NONE of the messages were in my messages list. All were spoofs. therefore, Ebay has a totally compromised web site. One of the people I spoke to said spammers do that and Ebay can't do anything about it. So, because Ebay can't manage security on their website, I'm out $480. Thank you Ebay for the expensive lesson. This lady living on soc. Sec will not be trusting Ebay again

I am very unhappy with the high fees and MORE importantly NO SELLER SUPPORT EBAY! The micro-managing on the part of Ebay staff is ridiculous and the seller no longer has any kind of voice but the expectations are constantly raised on the sellers.
Have I been screwed by Ebay? Nope. No horrible experiences to relate. No hidden agenda. Just wishing the old Ebay (pre-2008) I knew would surface from the rubble.

I do NOT recommend selling to potential new sellers on Ebay. I cannot imagine starting as a seller in their horrible environment as I've been "almost" screwed by buyers by not realizing that Ebay did not have my best interests and had certain DEFAULT settings in my account set so that I could be screwed (and this is after having the same acct with them for over 10 years!) Run, do not walk away from Ebay.

I bought a jacket on ebay described as "brand new" but when I received it, it was old and worn, stained, and had deep scratches in the leather, it was ruined beyond repair and obviously not as the listing described. I had to open a claim with ebay to return it, and I received an email from ebay stating IN WRITING that all I had to do was return the item with a tracking number by a specific date and they would issue my refund within 48 hours of delivery to the seller. I returned the item with tracking confirmation well before the date, and have proof it was delivered. Never received a refund from ebay. I have called them numerous times, and now they are saying that I was supposed to get signature confirmation (even though they told me in writing all I needed was a tracking number) and since they dont have a signature they won't refund my money. I am out the $300 I paid, AND the jacket, so the dishonest seller gets my money and their product! Even though ebay advertises "Buyer Protection" guaranteed, they do not live up to that!

Ebay assist buyers in cheating sellers. This is my personal experience with selling on ebay. First one buyer bought my Sopranos $200 set for $80 and then requested a refund which ebay gave them and when I received the returned item it was a counterfeit copy and ebay customer service told me they couldnt do anything about it. Ebay also returned money to a buyer that complained that it smeeled like smoke and the buyer never returned the item. As well as buying off of ebay and never receiving the item. They also restricted my account and for the last two monthes I have been complaining ang they can't even figure out problems in their own system. I wish their was another site to sell on because I've lost more money then i've made.

I've been selling items on Ebay for well over a decade now. They have done a couple of good things over the time like getting commercial shipping rates, as well as no listing fees, even for 30-day buy-it-nows. However the final value fee (which now includes shipping!) and Paypal fees really eat into your potential profits. But, as if things aren't already bad, Ebay takes ANOTHER STEP DOWNWARD--ALLOWING ADS WITHING LISTING PAGES! You've read it right--I'm looking at a listing for a Game Boy Advance game and there's a GEICO ad, on one line, INSIDE THE LISTING! Aren't they already getting enough from their sky-high fees? I really wished that someone, ANYONE, could provide an alternative to Ebay. Seriously, every year, they just keep sucking more than the few good bones they throw in. Ugh!

eBay very poor customer service and support

This complaint is concerning a lack of responsiveness of eBay to a customer and very poor support.

On December 28, 2017, after taking over ONE hour for a support person to take care of what turned out to be a simple ordering problem, I lost an opportunity to get a discount because the deadline to take advantage of it ended. As a result of the loss of the discount and the very poor service from the support person, I e-mailed them. All I ever received was an automated response. A copy of it is below:

Thank you for writing to eBay Customer Support.

Your question is very important to us and will be treated with our full attention. We understand the need to get your question answered quickly, and in most circumstances we do so within 24 to 36 hours. However, there may be times when it will take up to 72 hours for you to receive a response. To speed up the process, we ask that you do not send in multiple messages about the same issue.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please do not respond to this email. Any email sent as a response to this Acknowledgement will not reach us. Should you have another question or would like to send us additional information, please contact us by using our online Contact Customer Support page found at:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/contact_inline/index.html

We appreciate your patience,

eBay Customer Support

Sounds nice doesn't it? Well, what they said (or actually wrote) is false. Because there was no response to actually resolve the problem, I e-mailed them again after the 72 hours had passed. There still was no response except for the automated response listed above.

After 72 hours elapsed, I decided I would try to call them. That was just a futile exercise. I would get the same man everytime and he wouldn't really listen to me and just transfer me to a line where there was a recording. At one point of time he told me basically that going online and communicating that way was actually speach. Speach? I had enough of typing messages back and forth and wanted to actually speak to someone!

So far, there has been NO response from eBay to resolve my concerns. They obviously are in effect saying---"WE DON"T REALLY CARE."

Today we got an email response to a complaint we sent to Ebay's customer service. We told them we'd been asked to contact a certain department, but were disconnected via the Ebay agent (Chat) and couldn't find out how to contact that department. Subsequently, Ebay removed the chat feature from our Ebay Help pages. So we could only send them an email.

Not only did Ebay NOT help us with the issue, they mistakenly sent us (the buyers) the email intended for the seller. The email reassures the seller that Ebay has removed the buyer's comments to preserve the seller's positive ratings. However you feel about the Ebay buyers/sellers relationship, you ought to recognize that censoring negative reviews (that can be verified as accurate) is an obvious INvalidation of a review system. Besides having an anemic and untrustworthy review system, Ebay employs customer service agents who, at least some, won't respond to repeated attempts for help, purposely limit how you can contact them (removing the chat function & requiring you to email them and HOPE you get a reply), and may send an email reply TO THE WRONG PARTY/EMAIL ADDRESS.

Our family is done shopping on Ebay.

I've been a member of Ebay since 1999. A few months ago I sold a Autograph card on ebay. customer sends me message through EBAY saying he no longer wants the card. I ok'ed it. Later that week he gives me a negative feedback. Why, I still dont know. Now I have over 1100 positive feedbacks under 10 negatives. My seller performance has not moved in months and I'm limited to want I can sell on Ebay (14 items a month lol )for these months. OK he has -1 feedbacks and I have 1100 feedback and EBAY still took his side unbelievable. This is how they treat customers of over 10 years like I'm on punishment. Thanks for the Loyalty.

I've been selling on ebay for years and this month I got hit with $12.25 in extra "fees" from the company. I called the customer service, yes I actually got through, and the ### on the phone would not listen to me. He just kept repeating some pre-written sentence that had nothing to do with what I was saying. I ALWAYS make sure not to sign up for the extra options and insertion fees. But the hit me with 2 months worth of bogus fees out of no where. I make sure at the very end before I post anything that it says "$.00" in fees. I guess ebay isn't happy enough with the 10% commission that they have to add in fake fees after you sell something. I am closing my account and NEVER using Ebay again.

I had the same experience, it seems EBAY transfers you to a call center in the Philippines where you are greeted by robotic customer service reps that constantly repeat what they had to say without listening to what I was stating. 50 minutes to resolve what could have been resolved in 5 minutes had the rep listened to what was being asked instead of being argumentative and repetitive in what she was saying. They are worse than the nastiest bill collectors and they have already been paid. The worst customer service experience I have ever gone through. Bring those jobs back to the U.S. where customer service is held at a higher standard!

Removal of items (large household furniture) from listing without prior notice - due to mis-interpretation of wording used to notify buyers that items were advertised elsewhere and if no bids were placed. Than I would remove that item from sale due to receiving an acceptable offer from a buyer through the other advertisements. An unprofessional approach to dealing with clients. This has caused considerable stress and increased costs in disposing of the items concerned, as they will now have to be transported and placed in storage. This will make selling them in the future much more difficult in trying to show potential clients items in storage.
Technology is great, but you still need to talk to another person to explain your situation and to come to a satisfactory resolution for all concerned. CUSTOMER SERVICE is paramount to maintaining repeat business. The www has an enormous client base, however if you continue to "piss" them all off - soon you will have no clients.

never even consider buying the last item somebody on ebay has to sell----cause that's when they'll rip you off, cause they have nothing to lose in getting bad marks from ebay.

i bought something from one seller with a 90 some percent good rating----this seller's rating now down to 50 something, all because the seller ran out of stuff to sell and decided, seemingly, to keep the money for the last items.

i didn't learn from this mistake; i bought something from somebody on ebay about 50 miles from me...no response yet; see if i get ripped off, since this is the last item this seller has for sale, and has been on ebay for sale for awhile.

and walmart visa and mastercard gift cards don't give refunds----don't let them or ebay/verizon con you otherwise.

Over the years I have purchased thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from eBay sellers. It goes without saying that there will be, at the very least a few of them that will get a negative for normal reasons. Such as forgetting to ship an item paid for immediately or never shipping it, selling me a used and worn item described as New In Box, or just flat out not answering the phone or email regarding my purchase.

The problem is……eBay hires buyers to purchase merchandise listed on eBay for the sole purpose of doling out retribution.

I received a negative from one of eBay’s behind the scenes buyers. eBay thinks they are God-like and feels free to punish whomever they decide needs to be taught a lesson. Anyway this buyer left me a negative before he got home to open the package so I contacted the idiot (get a real job) via the Feedback Withdraw Form but he refused a full refund and said I deserved a negative. He lied about the product which was brand new and perfect and he had not yet received the package so how could there be something wrong with an item he did not have yet?
I called eBay to try and resolve this because I was sick of the canned responses from their contact site. “We sorry can’t help.” or “What do you mean we don’t understand.” I left feedback for him warning all others of his lie. Well the eBay officials removed my feedback from his forum. Protecting their own might need to use him again. I have turned this incident over to an attorney that specializes in eBay lawsuits with all the correspondence, item tracking number receipt dates, his name, email, address, etc. Will sell on Craig’s List from now on.

L had over 20 (twenty) ads running on ebay with over 40 photos. When their time limit expired (30 days), l ran them a second time using the exact same photos. Nothing changed. L suddenly received an email from ebay stating that all my photos are "not the right size" and l must change all of them or my ads will not run again. Suddenly all of these 40 plus photos are not the "right size" after running for an extended period on their site? Lt would take me several hours to alter all the photos in all my ads. Are they complete idiots on ebay? They refused to run my ads again and after numerous calls and emails to them, they never contacted me to discuss this ridiculous situation. Ebay should be thankful for their sellers and not treat them like fools! Leaving ebay is no hardship for me. The truth is 98 percent of my sales comes from amazon and only 2 percent comes from ebay. Needless to say, spending hours altering my photos for ebay would be a complete waste of my time and energy. Lf they had any common sense they would try to keep their sellers and not drive them away.

Ever try to alert ebay of a shady seller or poor practice? Good Luck. I usually call on phone to be able to fully explain details in case they try to throw you some off the wall questions that would cause a great deal of back and forth emails... Once you make contact, you normally get some quick talking curry eater that could care less. They allow some sellers to hide or not disclose hidden fees. Car dealers in general. If any seller has a fee on top of a sale price - it should be spelled out - no surprises. But ebay allows car dealers free reign on such practices. Also if you have a general merchandise seller who advertises items that are bought on Buy It Now, then never delivered, then later refunded, ebay doesn't seem to mind either. Its a scam of using your money for a couple of weeks or so. At no interest... For sure, the quality and oversight are degrading daily, and they are becoming the new Craigslist of the World...

eBay ebay suspension 1 year to lifetime?

Ebay suspended my account for 1 year for Shill Bidding. I was selling an item, and my sister-in-law who lives in my house and uses my wireless network placed a couple of bids on my stuff (without my knowledge). She knew I was trying to make a profit, and she also knew if I had known she wanted to buy it for my Brother i would have sold it to her for cost. So she placed a couple bids but didnt win the item. Ebay informed me I was being suspended for 1 year for Shill Bidding (bidding up the price of an item). I offered proof of the situation both on paper (with IDs) and also offered verbal verification but I was still Suspended.

After alot of pointless emails to the idiots at Ebay I gave up. I decided to accept my punishment for not knowing the rules.

I was just informed that I will not be reinstated after the 1 year like I was told many times. No explanation of this ruling... just a one line email.

There is a forum I found on the internet that is free, and helps with Ebay, PayPal, business and the law. Just post any question, the experts will answer it if it has not already been answered!

The forum has a lot of expert advice on it. http://www.modeeworld.com/forums I found advice there about how to avoid EBAY suspensions, get past PayPal limitations, also lots of detailed help on creating your own business, getting past trademark violations, VERO and lots more. Plus general advice on how best to sell on EBAY, what sells the best, how to get the best price for your product, really everything related to EBAY and internet business.

Also advice about how EBAY really works and how PayPal really works. The inside scoop.

Beautiful forum. I was made a moderator of the forum and I love it!

They suspended me cuz someone allegedly hacked me and tried to look at or buy porn..huh?
Can't prove it wasn't me. And so what? I checked thee adult box when i signed up.

Plus i had a seller sell me an old-rotten- dog had lived on sweater , was supposed to be new or like new.

It stunk and was old and full of animal hair, i wrote the woman, so she bad mouthed me in feedback, calling me names and a liar and kept track of all my activities and kept saying rotten things about me to others... she was lying but tho i could prove it, ebay just kept allowing it and refused to remove her salanderous comments.

eBay warning about vendors &no refunds& policy and poor quality products!

If any reader of this instant warning/complaint about Ebay vendor "Vanguard Distributors" takes a moment to "Google-ize" the phrase "piccot123", she/he will see all of the positive AND negative "feedback" published about me by various Ebay VENDORS as a result of my many Ebay online purchases. I am an Ebay BUYER, not a vendor.

One of the (only two) negative feedbacks there about me is by an Ebay vendor doing business as "Vanguard Distributors", who makes knowingly FALSE statements that I am a "WORST CRAZY EBAYER... VENDOR BEWARE... MULTIPLE CHARGEBACK ARTIST!... DANGEROUS NUT!"

This deliberately false negative feedback was in retaliatory response to my merely demanding from "Vanguard Distributors" a full REFUND for the poor quality TV they sold me. (I have just today, 11-6-07, lodged a FORMAL complaint with the Ebay officials, demanding that they force said Ebay vendor to WITHDRAW his slanderous feedback against me and, moreover, that they DISCIPLINE him for such unprofessional behavior.)

CONCLUSION: All Ebay, Internet, and otherwise online BUYERS/SHOPPERS, such as this writer, are hereby warned, in good faith, to think twice before doing any kind of business with Ebay vendor "Vanguard Distributors" for the following reasons: (1.) This vendor has a strick "NO REFUNDS" policy, so, if dissatisfied with a product, one must try to get their money back via their own personal bank, Visa card agent, or by other non-vendor means; (2.) Said vendor sells very poor quality 7" LCD flat panel TV's made by a China-based company called "SUPER"; (3.) Said vendor publishes on Ebay knowingly FALSE/SLANDEROUS negative feedback when an Ebay buyer lodges negative feedback against him for legitimate reasons; (4.) And, lastly, said vendor, "Vanguard Distributors", operates out of a mere US Postal Service P.O. Box, rather than a legitimate BUSINESS ADDRESS.

To wit, for all of the foregoing reasons, may all online BUYERS beware of said Ebay vendor "Vanguard Distributors". Thank you.

eBay buyer reversed charges!

I sold a pair of very expensive bedding shams for $125.00 to an ebayer ,she was quite happy with her items and left me perfect feedback,I was happy with her.She made a fast and timely payment to me through Paypal all was well. Over 3 weeks later her bank reversed the charges and without any notice to me at all, my paypal acct. is deducted 125.00! Paypal did not even seem to know what had happened or how it happened. The buyer claimed to not know why they reversed it. I am assuming she may have bounced a bunch of checks or something. Anyway I have offered for her to just send me back the shams and we will just forget the whole mess.

However I guess she must really want to hang onto them as she will not even mail them back to me! I would like to serve this as a warning to others not only on Ebay but inher area, she is a thief and has no conscience. Her name is Paula Willbanks, 101 E. Cardinal Street., Ector ,Texas 75439. I hope maybe she will see this and do the right thing before I have to go ahead and send in small claims papers. Thank you for this great service you offer.

Hummm, that's funny..I came across this complain after googling "willbanks101@yahoo.com" because I am selling a vehicle and I received an email from this person but they have an IP in China which I found to be suspicious which is another reason I wanted to see about this person. I also found another person selling a trailer that had been approached by same email/person. Now that I see it is not "Will Banks" but this Paula Willbanks at 101 E. Cardinal St..the email makes sense now. I am glad I saw this post and while I am sorry you had to suffer the wrath of this Paula, please know that your complain has kept me and who knows how many others from doing business with this thief!
Thank you Renee!

This lady should be ashamed of herself. She lied. Paypal made an error and reversed payment three weeks later, and they later corrected this. In the meantime the shams were shipped back to her, which I still have the postal return tracking receipt. Instead of working to help figure out what happened, she immediately began threatening to sue so they were sent directly back to her. I have never bounced a check, and she should be completely ashamed of herself for posting this trash. The tacky part is that the shams were received back by her before the date she posted this nonsense.

eBay seller suspension without a reason

Ebay - www.ebay.com

I was suspended from eBay for selling what they called "an unauthorized copy" of DVD's. The DVD's I was selling were completely authorized and legal from USA studios. This was stated in the auctions several times. I have a licensed business and acquire my inventory from USA authorized distributors.

I contacted eBay about ten times about this issue prior to them suspending me. They continuously disregarded my pleas for help and clarification. Instead they sent me patronizing automatic replies about reading their FAQ's (which I had already read and fully understood). They simply refused to address my specific complaints. I begged them to tell me what I had to do to sell my items without them being removed and not be suspended. I implored them to allow me to prove the legal status of these authorized DVD's. I asked them to allow me to send references and receipts from authorized movie studio distributors. Again, to no avail. There was literally nothing I could do to contact anybody and receive a response about what was happening to me. And it all culminated with them suspending me after being a seller for only 3 weeks with a 100% positive review record.

I contacted them via email, via their online forms, via their live help services. Live help attendants told me they had no authority to discuss the issue. Email and online forms responses were just ways to send me automatic cut and paste messages without addressing my specific problem. They don't provide a phone number or physical address or any means by which informed human interaction can occur.

I have used Ebay since 1996 without much difficulty, that is 2010. I had a number of old antique computer game systems to sell. Most of the sales went as I expected but with one. Some guy in Miami purchased a drive that was working perfectly when I sent it to him. After receiving it, he claims it is not working and filed a complaint with Ebay. Ebay refused to here my side and advised me to settle with the buyer. I lost money and the guy got a working antique drive for practically nothing. In another case, I send an item to an individual in Australia. He claimed that he did not receive the item. An investigation found that the USPS had delivered the item and that the individual signed for the item at the Australian Post Office. PayPal validated this information and, of course found in my favor. Then the individual leaves me negative feedback, still saying that he did not receive the item. Ebay refused to remove the feedback, even though they knew their company owned PayPal found in my favor.

Ebay is an evil corporation plus 10. It does offer buyer protections but nothing for sellers. If people stopped selling on Ebay, how long would they last. That, and their rediculously high fees along with being forced to use the PayPal payment system ends up costing more to sell an item than the trouble it is to list it. Ebay SUCKS!

I don't think ebay deserves our business or that we should have to beg and plead for them to let us back on. There is a new auction site BOOCOO.COM that suppose to be Ebays competition in the near future. They are easy to sign up with and don't all those personal questions and its just like ebay. Don't let ebay take your happiness. Move on to something better and SPREAD THE WORD. Tell everybody. Thats the only way it will take off. Go to other forums with other suspended ebayers and tell them about BOOCOO.COM It may be a little slow now but list things on there people will want and TELL PEOPLE ABOUT IT! This is just the beginning people lets work together!

This may be too late to help this guy as this was posted a year and a half ago but I suggest suing Ebay. They damaged his business. he had 100 percent feedback rating which clearly shows they were in good standing with their customers. eBay is very quick to cut off sellers without warning. and what happened to this guy happens everyday to many, many others. eBay flagrantly does whatever it feels like, they have rules against the stupidest of things. I use to have many items for sale that had very similar descriptions. I used the same description for all and it in was a single word used to describe how I examined each item for flaws. This upset a buyer who used that same word in his alerts for items totally unrelated and he wrote me demanding I stop using that word. Ummm, ever hear of the first amendment? Who is he to demand, that I stop using a word that is not profane and does apply to what I was selling even if it wasnt an item he was interested in. Ebay suspended me anyhow. I took them to court in MY hometown. Yes, I know they claim that any disputes must be settled in their area of California. BULL! You can sue anybody anywhere you like. If you live in New York and eBay damaged your business you CAN sue them in New York and they will need to pay an attorney licensed in New York to come to court and defend them. That costs them even more as they must pay another attorney not their own. They can of course get to court and rattle their sabre and say "see our user agreement says all case must be settled in California" Which a judge may or may not agree with, usually the latter. Judges dont like attorneys telling them have no jurisdiction. My defense to their claim was that MY business was in New York and this is where I was damaged. The judge agreed and I went on to win my case. ( In David vs. Goliath, David usually always wins! ) If enough people make eBay pay then it will become too costly for eBay to continue to screw sellers without justification. Put the pressure on. Sue the bast... !

eBay unfounded suspension

I have been an active ebay member since 2004. I have a 100% rating and until recently have had no real problems with ebay. A couple of months ago I tried signing into my account only to be notified my password was incorrect. I immediately went to my email and saw a new message from ebay explaining they had changed my account password for security reasons...that someone had made multiple unsuccessful attempts to get into my account. Within a month, this same thing happened. I sent an email to ebay about this issue because it concerned me and never received a response. My husband made a purchase on Oct.22,2007 and paid for the product immediately. Two days later when we tried to login for information regarding the shipment of our purchase we were locked out of our account and told we were suspended because we were believed to be a previously suspended member who was fraudulent. I emailed them right away angry and concerned because there is no reason for the link. We have never been involved in fraudulent activity, nor have we ever had another ebay account. In the meantime, it is now Nov.2,2007 and have still not received our product and since we are locked out of our account we cannot contact the seller. Ebay has FINALLY responded to our email concerning these issues and they did not address my concerns for what purpose they believe me to be linked to this previously suspended user or if my information is being used by someone else illegally. The only response I was given was to fax over a copy of my state id card, credit card statement with name and address information, a utility bill also with identifying information and some sort of legal paper to sign stating that I will not be involved in fraudulent activity on ebay. This is crap that for no reason at all, no reason they can give me they suspend me, they don't answer my concerns about whether someone may be using my identity or what makes them believe I am affiliated with this previously suspended user, and now I have to jump through hoops to prove myself to them. For what? For them to use poor judgment with my personal information, leaking it out to who knows... just to have this happen again!? And as I said, here I said still not having received my ordered and paid for product and nothing that I can do to resolve the issue. Pissed off isn't even the word. I WILL be canceling my account with ebay and I WILL be sending a letter of complaint to ebay... Even though I know it will fall on deaf ears.

eBay suspended me months back. After several months of contacting them and trying to appeal, they sent me a message that my appeal was denied and the suspension is indefinite.

I have a family to support and this made half of the income. Not only does eBay not care about the sellers anymore, they purposely promote fraud for buyers as well. Absolute disgust.

This is why many people who have been kicked off are going stealth I myself have contacted Auction Essistance to help me get back on and make back the income that eBay purposely took away. Do not let eBay win or destroy your family.

I had the same thing happen to me. However, I hadn't used the account for some time, but received an e-mail stating that someone had tried to sign on to my account. I didn't click into the link on the e-mail because I wasn't sure if it was a phishing e-mail. I went to E-Bay directly and found that I couldn't get into my account. Being that I had not used the account, I asked that they close my account because I had been the victim of identity fraud and had found that my paypal account was also in jeopardy. I canceled that as well. I still receive e-mails from e-bay and from e-bay shoppers stating that they have purchased and paid for items from me that I have not sent. Unfortunately, I have not had anything on e-bay and ebay won't release information about who is using my account and what payment process they are going through to obtain the money's that people are apparently sending to me, that I have no knowledge of. E bay had sent me an e-mail after I had asked that they cancel my account and told me that they had to leave it active for 30 days. After 30 days, they told me the account was closed, but apparently they did not close the account. Having same problems with paypal and once you close an account with either of these companies, it appears you cannot open another with a different e-mail address (unless of course you are a thief). It's a very sad situation and world that we live in. But it appears if the people that originate these scams put as much time into actually making an honest living, they'd be wealthy and there would be a whole lot less fraud going on.

eBay unable to contact anyone

I bid on a vehicle and was the highest bidder without reaching its reserve. After the auction as I thought closed, I was contacted by the seller of this item directly to my email address which I did not provide but as he contacted me after my bid offer and using what looked like standard ebay header mails, i assumed that it was legitimate. I had already made checks into the vehicle status etc which appeared to be again legitimate. The emails I received appeared the same as many more I'd received for previous transactions through ebay. Furthermore the seller said he was doing the transaction through the safeharbor facility on ebay. Safeharbor is their so called security and trust section. All of the transaction emails were on what looked like standard ebay header and following satisfactory answers being received through this mechanism, I proceeded with the purchase at a cost of £ 8000. I'm now told by ebays online help that this item was blocked from sale as a result of suspected fraud and that I should have received an email at 'my messages' folder on ebay saying this as I had bid for the item. This did not happen and furthermore I did not give the seller my email address so I can only conclude that despite ebay assurances regarding the safety of their site, it is not a secure site. I am now fraudulently down £ 8000 due to ebay neglect and have been unable to make a complaint so far through the online facility. Online is the only option available as no telephone contact is permitted. I would appreciate any help that's out there

As much as it pains me to say this, the fact you lost 8000 pounds isnt ebay's fault. eBay sends messages all the time about this scam. A red flag should have gone up when you got an e mail after you hadnt provided the seller with your email address. A second red flag should have gone up when the email said the sale was thru ebay safe harbor. Safe harbor has nothing to do with making transactions. eBay suggests when getting these 'second chance" offers ALWAYS verify that the second chance off is shown in your my ebay page under items not won AND look for an ebay message that starts with your name. You didnt do this and that is why your out 8000 pounds. This problem is so big that eBay needs to do something about it. They have a responsibility to do something about it. messages about the scams arent enough. They need to have each and every buyer acknowledge that they understand second chance offers can ONLY be made on the MY eBay page. and it should be very obvious on the My eBay page, not hidden in the "items not Won" page. Have a Second Chance category with an alert.

eBay scam website!

After going to their website and fulfilling the three offers they asked for, I was locked out and could not even get on the website any more. I let Blockbuster and Entertainment Weekly know what they were doing, and have never heard a word from them. I paid for the trial subscription and was told it would not continue unless I gave permission. They charged me anyway, and I had to fight with them to get my money back. BAD IDEA! Don't go there. I never got the TV that I
was trying to buy.

I am planning to launch a class action against Half.com and it's unethical practices. Any seller who has their money stuck with them, please email me back. My email address is: raman6@gmail.com. I sued eBay and recovered my money which Half.com had withheld without any reason. Since they restrict all legal action to the county of Santa Clara, CA it is a problem for many outsiders. I stay in Santa Clara county and can take them to court and ensure they change their practices. Look forward to hearing from you all.

Half.com allows sellers to send the wrong books and then expects you to pay for the return shipping before a refund can be given (not including the cost of shipping). There is no customer service to respond to either and what little there is will take you months to hear from. I eventually filed a charge back and I will never use this company again or Ebay. Take your money and go to Amazon.com if you want to save on used books. Or better yet pay the bookstore price, it is worth it when you don't have to deal with scams and money loss.

As an x seller on half.com I can tell you they are a back room company.
I sold a new book on half .com and shipped it in shrink wrap and in a box 2 days prior to the half.com shipping deadline. The book arrived to the buyer in 3 days using media mail. (quick) The buyer decided he didn't want the book and contacted me about a return. He bought one locally. I emailed him and said unless the book was damaged we don't accept returns. The buyer then contacted half.com and told the the book was damaged. Half.com without contacting me issued him a credit from my account and he was to return the book to me. The book that was returned was not the one i shipped to him and the enclosed CD was open. Half .com will not return any calls and only state they make final decisions.
It is not worth it to deal with Half.com

I agree with you. They done the same to me. I sold nearly $15k of inventory and now my accounts are locked and I dont know if I will get my money either. This is ridiculous, as they close the account right before the pay period, insuring that you sell as much as possible before they suspend your account and block your funds. This is really ridiculous. They keep your money without paying interest and guess what? Thats right, no customer support at ALL! No phone number, no live chat support only some slow email service at half.com. This is unethical and immoral and should be against the law. Those people need to get right with God or they will end up in hell. I mean work with people as we are confused and they have our money. Buying or selling, it is no different. I sold over 300 dollars worth of textbooks on it and all books have shipped out. Now half.com suspended my account for no reason whatsoever, and that is 300 dollars I am going to lose. They just want to keep the money for themselves! I just graduated from college and I am just trying to get at least some money back from the books so I can start paying off student loans, but nope! Half.com takes it, their motto should be 'we take 100% commission from your sales'. Not dealing with them ever again!

Half.com sucks. I placed three orders on half.com for college textbooks. I ordered two of them on Apr 25. One issued a refund saying the book was no longer available (2 weeks after I placed the order and only after I contacted the buyer) and the other sent me an e-mail saying that the book sold MONTHS ago and that she didn't know why half.com had it listed to sell OR listed as shipped. ALL the textbooks were listed as shipped and all DEDUCTED MONEY from my debit card. WHY is this? I am so upset. My classes start tomorrow. I will NEVER order from half.com again. This has been a complete waste of my time and money.

eBay useless helpdesk

I was a user of ebay. I thought its a good web portal or online shopping. I was in the process of purchasing a mobile phone and a mouse. The payment has been made amounting to Rs 13,500/-. In the meantime my account was blocked on some flimsy ground. The seller even after acknowledging that he ad received payment gave an unpaid strike against me thinking that as i was suspended i cant do anything. I am trying to reach helpdesk but they are not responding. I think nobody is reading my email and i am getting an automated reply every time i tried to reach them. I think it is useless now as there is no phone number listed for solving my prob on there website. So ebay is good as long as u dont landup in a problem. The moment u r in trouble even on flimsy ground. there is no one whom u can ask for help.

I fully agree with the complaints. Reason is not far to see. Most often, as they say, if it is too good to be true, it probably is ! Transactions are painful. Products are faulty and subsequent transactions to redress adds to the pain. Risky and not worth the trouble to buy from eBay.

Having said that, my best experience was on Amazon where the customer service is excellent. But then it is also a lot less risky buying a book than, say a flash drive mp3 player as I foolishly did.

Bottom line, stay away at any rate from electronics, mobile phones, computers and the like.

eBay ebay does not appreciate their buyers

Ebay
http://www.ebay.com

I want to make the public aware of my experience with an ebay seller which goes by the name augleo74. I bought three products from the user. All a few days apart. One product took longer to be received than others. On the feedback I mentioned that the shipment was slow. The seller then posted a sarcastic comment in regards to my feedback. Then on the other products provided defamatory feedback unrelated to the items or issue at hand. A request to remove the feedback due to the user is retaliating against the one negative remark was sent to Ebay who stated they would not remove the feedback. Ebay does not care about the buyers experience and obviously not aware that without buyers their company wouldn't be active. They allow insulting comments to defile your feedback page and there only response is to provide a feedback to the comment received. NO ONE should have to fear posting THEIR experience with a seller in FEAR of retaliation! That is PROMOTING misleading information to the public! That person is not the only seller Ebay allows to terrorize customers treasure_in_florida, beeatchook, bookmarkthispage are just to name a few.

Here are some of the negative remarks.

I bought a violin case on e-bay. You can check my FB to find the seller. The case arrived and I quickly opened it, looked at it, closed it and left positive FB. 2 days later I opened the case to put my violin in it, and it selled of cat pee. It came from up north, to humid Florida where the stench blossomed. I filed a dispute when the seller refused to answer ANY e-mails. The seller, herself, made a claim of it. EBAY'S DECISION WAS THAT CAT PISS IN A VIOLIN CASE DOES NOT DEVALUE THE ITEM!

I paid $52.00 for what can only be used as a kitty litter pan now (but I have no cats). So much for e-bay protecting their buyers, as their so-called recent 'enhancements' proclaim.

If you do business on e-bay, you better figure out who this seller who sold me a cat pee violin case and avoid her items. Also, keep in mind that cat pee on a seller's items is just fine with ebay!
