Easirent car hire. rental agreement no; 1403255

Dear Sir / Madam,

I write to you with regard to a smoking charge violation applied to my account on the return of the hire vehicle.

I left my parents house at 05.00am after an extremely cold night, after spending a good ten minutes de-icing a very frozen car.
On my way to the airport I also stopped three times to use motorway facilities and refuel the car.
Due to the weather conditions all surfaces had been treated with salt for safety and unfortunately as hard as one tries not to bring it into the car it happens as it is stuck to the bottom of my shoes.

On arrival to the car return at London Heathrow a representative checked the car as usual, however stated that I had smoked in the car due to the drivers side carpet being marked and grubby with road salt which he stated was cigarette ash.

I tried to explain the situation to the young man but he was not interested and called upon the manager.

I have hired many times from Easirent over the years and never experience a problem and what's more I work within the aviation industry and totally understand a no smoking policy so why would I choose to smoke in a hire car, I wouldn't even smoke in my own personal car.

The manager sided instantly with his colleague and totally refused to listen to me, in fact he was extremely rude, arrogant, uninterested and dismissive of my explanation.
I would also like an explanation as to why a manager would refuse to offer his full name, surely if you hold a managerial position they should offer their full name, guidance and a explanation of the way forward should any problem arise.
He stated that clients have absolutely no respect for hire cars and he was imposing an astronomical violation fee of 300.00 pounds for something that I certainly had not committed.

May I also add that on two occasions when hiring cars in the depth of winter, the screen wash liquid has frozen solid as the branch obviously are filling the reservoirs with water rather than using the correct winter screen wash, making for hazardous driving conditions. On the occasion before I had to stop and purchase screen wash from the motorway services.
It is so important to be able to clean the front and rear windscreens when so much salt and debris is being sprayed onto the windscreen of the car.
I understand economising, but safety should never be overlooked or improvised on.

I will take this matter further should the need arise, but in the meantime await your reply.

Please mail me on [protected]@gmail.com

Yours sincerely.

Mr Jeremy Diment.

Easirent false information to sign car rental agreement

I recently made an online booking for a rental car (+ Axa travel insurance) with easirent.com through the Ryanair car hire service. Booking reference number GB487658830
Once arrived at Manchester Airport (17 January 2019), I waited for my parents flying in from another airport and rang up the company for pick up. I had to call 4 times before we finally got picked up more than 1 hour later. We had to wait at freezing temperatures. At the easirent office, an adviser set up a contract for us and made us sign on a sign pad. There was no printed contract or cost summary. Having payed everything online when I booked the car, I was not expecting hidden costs. The adviser briefly outlined that there was a deposit to pay for fuel and in case we had an accident but that everything would be reimbursed once I returned the car. Having booked cars online before, I thought this was a normal procedure because a deposit is usually withhold at car collection. Only when I checked my email the day after, I found that I had been charged 487£! I discussed these charges at the Manchester Branch when I returned the car 4 days later (20 January 2019) but the manager did not help me nor did he take my complaint seriously. He left the officer after giving few and vague explanations. Other employees laughed about me and were busy getting rid of me calling a van twice to take me back to the airport.
Our charges included, a 180£ fee because the lead driver and the credit card holder were not the same person. I specifically asked whether there would be extra charges for this matter twice (over the phone and in person) and I was reassured that there were no extra costs. I told the adviser that I would provide another credit card or that someone else could drive to avoid charges but he said that there was no extra money to pay.
I was charged 100£ for an upgrade from class C to CD. However, the car hire package I paid for and booked online included class CD so I don't see why I should pay for this again nor was I told about these extra charges.
I was charged 92£ for extra insurance I had not asked for. The car hire package I booked online already included local taxes, breakdown assistance, airport surcharges, a collision damage waiver, theft protection, third party liability, free cancellation and amendments. I also booked an extra Axa-travel insurance to cover other damage so I certainly did not ask for extra insurance at the easirent office. The adviser told us about a 95£ fuel deposit which would be reimbursed if the car is returned full. We did not get any written confirmation that we returned the car full and we are still waiting to get the fuel deposit back.

The car rental was made without giving me information about costs and my digital signature was put on a contract I was not shown before signing. I was told that my card was charged only with deposits that would be reimbursed when I returned the car. I am asking for a full refund of my money.

Sincerely
Verena Riedl

Easirent service and refund rental agreement 1334221

Hi, we are unhappy with the experience and service provided by Easirent. Looking back, we were led to believe, from the point we checked your site, booked the car, to collection on 23 Nov 2018, that the car was big enough when we confirmed our booking. We were dismayed that the car offered was way too small.

We had to pay an additional 20GBP per day which was an additional 200GBP for the car. While on the road, we had to fill the tank with ADblu which we had no idea what it was initially. We were PROMISED a full refund to my credit card from your staff. 3 weeks on and we are still waiting for the refund. Surely, that is not just lip service from Easirent !

Regards
Seah KH

Easirent behaviour of staff and discrimination

Dear Sir / Madam,

I am writing to you to raise an issue about: Car Rental

The issue that I have experienced was: Staff picked me up an hour later. Waited in the cold. At the office, no clear explanation of why he why an additional money will be taken from my account. The service was very poor, the staff was very rude and unhelpful. I was emotionally and verbally abused when he knew that I'm a Christian, he cancelled all the transactions immediately I said Jesus. He refused to be cooperative, my friends and family tried to talk to him, he was disrespectful. I was discriminated upon, disrespected and humiliated because I'm a Christian. He told me that he was going to lock me inside the office.

It occurred on: 31/10/2018

Refund all the money back from the time I booked 26/10/2018. I am taking the matter to court.

I look forward to your prompt response on this matter. As recommended by Trading Standards, I would like to keep a complete record of my case, so please reply back via this email account.

Yours faithfully,

Olokhifa Maureen Aghomon

Easirent car rental

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am very disappointed with your customer service i had the opportunity to experience at the office of Easirent Luton airport yesterday around midnight. I got home this morning to High Wycombe before 3am and the following was the reason why.

When i arrived before midnight at the counter i have already witnessed a rude attitude of the person serving one of their customer picking up a car. Their where refused a vehicle due to an insufficient proof of address. I trusted that this wasn't my problem case since I hold British passport and have never had this issue with any of the other car rentals I have been using past year. I was wrong when I have been also asked with not a very polite attitude to provide two documentation proving my address. I asked the staff that this is not a normal procedure as I have been using car rentals every month for a week or two and never had this sort of requests before but he wasn't in a mood to discuss anything with me so I understood I had no choice other than find some documents on my emails and phone. It did not take long and I found it and emailed it to him.

Another issue came up with the actual reservation when the person at the counter asked me to pay £126 for the reservation price. I have than showed him a price on my confirmation sent by Expedia that $100 would be payable on the my arrival that represented £77 on the time of making the reservation which was almost double the price i have booked it for. This obviously was a reason for another discussion and since the staff serving refused to did not show a good customer skills but on contrary he kept saying he doesn't care what I have been told but wants me to pay or leave. At midnight I obviously decided I don't have a choice but to pay if I wanted to get home safe. He also processed the excess £1500 on my credit card and £126 on my debit card. I asked how long is the excess going to be blocked on my card and got an answer 21 days which is again very unusual to hold deposit this long but I left it be. Another issue came up when he asked for £95 petrol deposit and since his attitude was already very unacceptable and I did not understand also this extra charge he got annoyed and said I am cancelling your reservation.

I was shocked, I am not a customer who would be arguing over anything usually but manners of this person made me to fight for my rights of information. After telling me he cancelled my reservation because of my attitude I tried to keep calm and asked when I get my money back. He said as soon as. I wasn't worried about the money for the reservation but I needed to get home and try to hire another car and since I myself know personally that any pre-authorisation would take 7-10days until they are completely removed. I panicked since I had no car no money to use for another Deposit I started sorting this situation out obviously both of your staff refused to discuss anything whatsoever with me and told me to leave even after trying to explain that they have my money and I can't get now another car rental but no empathy showed from their side. They have told on numerous occasions they want to go home and will be charging me late fee. I know that as soon as I left they would shut the store and left me on the streets in the middle of the night by myself as all people picking up their cars where already gone.

I phoned Expedia who advised they can't assist me since the payment was taken by the counter but they advised me to phone cc company to check whether the deposit is still blocked and whether it can be unblocked. Unfortunately I suspected this already when I tried to log in to my profile that Barclaycard had their system down and couldn't help me until the following morning. This obviously left me with no money no car and scared how I get home. I had an operation 3weeks ago and still had pain in my stomach that adds up to my worries of not being able to take care of myself 100%.

Before the CC company revealed the info and I still had some hope I will manage to solve this problem the staff was ready to lock the office and wanted me desperately out not even caring what happens to me the more senior of them two even started seriously shouting 'get out now' I was shacking more and more but did not want to be left on the street. I heard them calling Luton airport police and explaining that I am drank.

In the meantime I was on the phone they let the other customer after an hour waiting and desperately searching, calling friends in the middle of the night to help them to get a proof of address since the one they brought wasn't valid as they moved in a new address 2 months ago and apparently in your terms and conditions the minimum time of residency for proof of address is 3months. I heard the employee who also served me saying after an hour of terrorising them 'OK I will let you have the car but email me the proof of address in the morning'

As soon as I heard from my CC company that I am screwed and every party involved let me down that night I took my stuff and was leaving. The employees were shouting at me outside of the office swearing words and happy that they can now go home.

I am asking you to review the footage and make your own judgment on what you have read here and what they story is going to sound like.

I am very disappointed as I am not a trouble maker but a decent citizen of Great Britain, working full time for 6 years as an accountant and have been granted British citizenship this year in Feb that also proves I must have been a resident otherwise wouldn't be given the passport.

I ask you to give this problem sufficient time and if needed get a statement from the customers present on the scene who witnessed the unacceptable customer service.

I am not going to let this go until I get compensated for the damages I have incurred whether financial or emotional.

I attach a screenshot taken this morning that my deposit is still being blocked on my card even they said they released it. I am unable to attach the Expedia email confirmation but do not hesitate to request this when you start investigating the case in more details.

Thank you for your help in advance

Kind regards

Katarina Nagy

Easirent insurance rip off

At the desk we had declined an insurance as we had one from Axa via Ryanair but the employee added on the contract without giving notice to us while talking about a deposit we had to make . So we signed and paid a sum thinking it was a deposit while in fact it was an insurance . I still have my contract from Axa as evidence and we would like to be reimbursed from the su of 250 pound which were unduly taken from us .

Easirent unauthorized credit card charges and unethical behaviour

I have booked a car by Easirent for a trip in Scotland (Carigami: n° reservation GB87461800 - ) 24_6 to 9_7_2018.
I prepaid 110, 03€ and had to pay 230, 11€ by the reception of the car.
The desk man of Easirent-Edinburgh was very insolent, refused the voucher Carigami and obliged me to sign different documents but did'nt give me any copy of them.
I was very surprised when I have constated that the real paiement on my creditcard for the car rental was 544, 62 € instead of 230, 11.
Is it possible to refund the difference of the amount?

Easirent car rental

Easirent has been my worse experience in car rental anywhere in the world. I had booked a VOLVO XC 60 (diesel) in Dublin & was instead given a HONDA HRV (PETROL).
First Philip tried to pass off the car as the same category, after I said no to taking the car, I was told, the car was from a lower category and I will be issued a refund for the difference. I tried to get an idea of the refund but I wasn't given any. On top of that, the zero excess insurance that I purchased at the time of booking wasn't zero excess at all, it was missing the tire coverage. Which costed me additional 11euros a day. This bit was not mentioned anywhere on the mobile site (visibly)

After multiple calls & emails, I am being offered a refund of 30 euros total, when I paid more than 500 euros for a 6 day rental.

Live prices show a difference of almost twice between the car. 30 euros is what I was charged because I returned the car in Dublin airport instead of the city .

The company is only there to cheat and defraud customers.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER.

If the situation isn't rectified, I'd definitely be approaching the consumer court.

Easirent overcharged

Reference: er27520181252706
Payment mode: pre paid reservation

I recently hired a vehicle from your company, the on line quote being total price: 212.63 gbp
Upon collection I was informed I would need to pay £315.11 to include a non refundable insurance cover. I did explain that my own insurance covered any vehicle but your counter staff said the added insurance costs were not negotiable. I was also required to pay a £95 deposit for fuel (yet to b refunded)
I have hired vehicles before, never have I had to pay extra than quoted as the total cost.
An annual insurance for hire vehicles per person = £49.00 yet you are charging £102.48 for a 5 day hire!
Had I been made aware of your cost previously I would have gone elsewhere, unfortunately I was on a tight schedule and this wasn't an option.in addition your staff said if I cancelled the hire car I would have to pay a cancelation fee of £45
I request a full refund of my car hire charges, including the £95 deposit for fuel as the car was returned with a full tank.
With regards to the car I was given, I requested a ford mondeo or similar as I would be having 4 adult passengers. I was given a small volvo. It was dirty inside and out. Dead flies all over the front bumper (would have easily washed off with water!) dirty windscreen inside and out, mud on the rear of the drivers seat.
Overall a dreadful experience of car hire.
Please refund to my bank account asap and confirm via email.

Easirent car rental

First time user. Inconvenience of location we were willing to deal with however long wait to see agent. When finally got to him, the cost quoted more than doubled plus wanted a $250 deposit. When questioned, the agent was polite but the manager Tim Koehler was combative and belligerent. When we said it felt like Bait and Switch, he was defensive yo the max. Obviously his priority was not customer service. We walked away to rent from another company and are extremely dissatisfied. Would never recommend or use this company again. Plan on posting experience on social media. Others should be aware.

Easirent rented a car with no road tax disc.

Rental agreement number; 1085586

I rented a car at Dublin Airport from Easirent and today I have received the email below informing me that I been charged £75 admin fee plus from Easirent plus I am informed that I am liable for 60 euro penalty as the car that I rented had no road tax displayed. Surly it is the rental company's responsibility to insure the vehicle is taxed because if not what they rent is not fit for purpose.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Sir/Madam,

Notification of Admin Fee

We have been informed by APCOA Parking that on 15/05/18 at 15:20 vehicle 171D2522 did not display current road tax on Henry Street.

By signing the Rental Agreement when taking the vehicle out on hire, you agreed to be liable as owner in respect of any fixed penalty offence committed and would incur an admin fee without prior notification of the charge.

The admin fee of £75 has now been taken out of your account and your details have been forwarded on to the penalty charge issuer.

The PCN issuer will transfer the liability to you and issue you with a new PCN in your name. This gives you the opportunity to challenge or pay the penalty.

If you wish to dispute the issuance of the PCN in the meantime or have not received the PCN in 30 days, please contact the PCN issuer.

If you have any other queries about the admin fee, do not hesitate to email me.

Kind regards,
Amy Mahon

Easirent mis-sold excess insurance policy

Rental Agreement No. 1057393 - Stansted Airport, 27th/29th April.

This email was sent to the Manager on 30th April.

We hired a car at the weekend from yourselves and was served by an assistant named Monica. We were asked to purchase excess insurance otherwise we would have to pay £1500 excess. I told the assistant that we already had independent excess insurance, whereupon she said that our policy is not recognised by yourselves and that we should buy your insurance, I was adamant that our insurance was valid but my husband was unsure and as he was the main driver we paid £48.

Upon arriving home I telephoned the excess insurance company and was assured that our policy covers all car rental companies.

We feel that the assistant was using bullying tactics and that we were mis-sold an insurance policy that was not needed.

We look to you to refund the £48 that we paid to yourselves.

I had no reply to this email, so sent a further one on 2nd May, still no reply, so telephoned on 4th May and spoke to the Manager whereupon he said he would speak to the assistant the following day and would email by noon on 5th May, still no response, hence my email to yourselves. I look to you to resolve this issue as soon as possible.

Easirent have charged me the £1250 Deposit I returned the car in 100% condition and they have not refunded the deposit 38 days after I returned the vehicle ?
1) They subject you to horrible hard selling of their insurance even although I already had insurance through Rentalcars.com
2) When I declined the Insurance they told me I had better hope that there isn’t a mark on the car or they will keep the entire deposit which is scandalous.
3) I returned the vehicle in perfect condition please see the attached document, they signed that it was Ok and I would receive the deposit back in 10 days . 38 days later I have written 6 emails to them asking when am I getting my deposit back, I received a reply today that they would look into it ?
4) This company is dishonest and are running a scam to sell extremely expensive insurance to cover the cost of their cheap rentals. This company needs to be closed down consumers are getting ripped off .

I have written to various consumer bodies and dispute resolution companies as well as the EU complaints board and will not stop until my deposit has been refunded.

Easirent unauthorized credit card charges after cancellation of car hire

I have booked a car hire with Easirent on the 18th March 2018 to collect in Manchester City Centre. On the 23rd March, I have cancelled the booking. I have received the refund on the 3rd April 2018. Additionally to the refund, I was paid in 95 pounds. After speaking to the branch, I was told that there was a system error. On the 13th March, my bank account was charged 95 pounds back. Unfortunately, this happened twice. So on the 13th April, my account was charged in total 190 pounds instead of 95 pounds. I have spoken to the branch manager and he claims that this amount was paid back to my bank account. However, I never received the refund. I demand that I receive the refund immediately. I find it outrageous, that there my bank account has been charged unauthorised. The reference number: 1025448
Kind regards,
Angelina Frankowska

Easirent extra charges

Absolute RIP OFF COMPANY!

No one should ever rent from this company.
1. I have booked a luton van with tail lift online at birmingham city branch and they gave me a normal van eventhough I have confirmed when booked online!
2. No one mentioned about 150 miles allowance a day!
3. I used van 240 miles as I had to do extra rounds just because they gave me a wrong van and been charged 81 pounds extra on top of van rental which is rediculous!

Never ever going to use that company again and would also just recommend everyone never go for this company!

Easirent rental car issue

My name is Teresa Collings and I recently went through rental cars to book a car in Glasgow to visit our elderly father, my rental car booking reference was [protected]. I then chose a car with a company called Easirent and my Rental Agreement Number with them was 967319. We were picked up from the airport and taken to the rental compound which was horrendous it was really muddy and the whole area was full of pot holes with loose bricks in places, we went through the paper work and was then led outside to our car a Ford Fiesta, we were asked to look around the car so we started to do so and was pointing out scratches and dents to Barry the Easicar rep who was not friendly and quite rude to us but he just said I haven't checked it myself yet (why ask us to check it first then), anyway he went round it and then so did we and we found loads of things wrong that Barry never marked off he didn't even check the alloy wheels luckily I did and 3 were really badly damaged and the 4th had black tar over it which he said he wasn't bothered about. There was even 3 chips in the windscreen and the car was filthy. They tried to persuade us to take out the extra insurance and if we did when we took the car back they wouldn't even check it over but I had an annual insurance car hire policy so declined. We decided to take the hire car back a day earlier as the weather wasn't looking good and we had an early flight the following day, when we got to Easirent they got the paperwork for the car and said they'd just check the car and we didn't need to go with him but we're not that stupid so my partner followed him out he took just seconds and went straight to the front tyre and said there was a bulge in it probably done by a pothole, he didn't even look at the rest of the car he came in and said that he would have to charge me £195 for a replacement tyre and if we paid it there and then he could release the deposit held on the credit card immediately, so we paid it but under duress I tried to argue it wouldn't cost £195, he said the car was not road worthy and would have to be taken off the road, we pointed out the car was back a day early so they'd have plenty of time to fix it before the next rental but they were not interested. We felt bullied into paying the £195 or we wouldn't get our deposit back.
There premises are full of potholes and On leaving the yard the kerb has not even been dropped, I believe the tyre was already damaged especially as that is what he went straight to when checking the car.

Easirent the car rental was charged from my credit card twice for mistake

I made a reservation on the 19th November 2017, from Portugal, to pick up a car in Manchester on the 1st of December 2017, which costed 204.05 euros. When I got to Machester (on the 1st of December) to pick up the car, you told me it wasn't paid yet, so I paid 458, 16 euros. Everything was ok, but I checked my bank account now and I noticed there were the two payments (the one made in Portugal of 204, 05 euros for the reservation and the other made in Manchester of 408, 16 euros), so there must have been a mistake.
Thee rental agreement number is 910205

Easirent refund declined

ER411201712511111
My hire was declined because I didn't have a credit card?i then asked whether I could get a refund.
On two occasions I was told that my refund would be paid back in the coming days 1st by the two branch staff working on the day I was supposed to hire the vehicle then by the customer service department that I called the following week. The CS staff told me that my refund would get paid in the coming days.

For your information, I work for the [removed] and this is a misconduct. If your staff don't know your terms and conditions you take the responsibility for this.

Easirent my worst experience

It's the worst company I have ever dealt with!
They promised to provide a great simple service, but I got absolutely nothing but a headache.
I needed to cancel one trip by a rented car and they said: "no problem, we'll send you an email with a confirmation and you just have to use the link inside".
I have never received this email, so I called them again. They said that the cancellation is impossible because it should be done within 24 hours (I knew about this and I tried to cancel it within 24 hrs). So there was no opportunity to get my money back because someone was too stupid and slow enough to send me an email right after our conversation.
Beyond irritating.

Easirent unethical charges for rental car

I rented a car from Easirent from 25/7/17 to 31/7/17 at the following address : ER TRAVEL SERVICES LTD EASIRENT BIRMINGHAM AIRPORT C/O CROWNE PLAZA NEC PENDIGO WAY, BIRMINGHAM . I have rented cars from around the world and I must say that this has been my absolute worst car rental experience in my life. I have never dealt with a Company that actually tries to cheat the customer. Unfortunately I did not get a chance to read the reviews before I rented the car, as I read now that several customers have faced the same plight as I have. I never thought that one would find people of such dishonesty in the UK, but this experience has left such a bitter taste in my mouth. The business model of this company is to rip customers off and make money, rather than do it the old fashioned way by being honest and scrupulous.

When I went to first rent the car I got the first whiff that something was not right. They forced me to leave a GBP 1250 deposit on my card. The guy behind the counter told me that I could reduce the deposit only by buying insurance at GBP 150. The car was quite dirty on the outside and the front left side was completely scratched and dented. This was circled in my sheet (have a photograph).

When I returned the car at 6 am in the morning it took me almost an hour to finish the paperwork. They ripped me off for the following issues which I know I had not caused.

1. 2 Stone chips on windscreen : The car windscreen was quite dirty to begin with. The two dots were not visible to the naked eye. One had to run a finger over the windscreen to notice the dot. Unless one knew of this problem it could not have been noticed. When I asked the inspector where the dot was he asked me to run my finger over the spot to feel it. In all the time that I drove around I never noticed any stone chips hitting the car. I think this is just a scam as there was no way I could have noticed this at the time of renting the car.

Charge: GBP 180

2. Minor abrasion to Drivers Door edge: This was a small scratch along the side of the door hardly 1 mm long. I know I did not do this because the car was parked in my Doctor friends house for all the days and there was nothing around with ample car parking space. Again this could not have been noticed at the time of renting the car, unless one used a magnifying glass.

Charge: GBP 95

3. Front Alloy wheel scratch: This was the same side were the entire from side portion was dented and scratched. It is impossible that the scratch from the side did not extend to the alloy wheel also in the first place. For me to notice such a small scratch is just ridiculous, when the side of the car is so scratched up.

Charge: GBP 100

Besides this I was also charged an admin fee of GBP 50.

Total charges : GBP 425

When I brought the car in at 6 am, I was first made to wait as the inspector told the attendant there were some problems and they both went away for about 1/2 hour. When they returned they told me about these problems and the total amount of the charges. I know they knew that I have a flight to catch and was anxious to get going. They also know on such issues I have no defence as these are such minuscule issues, which cannot be noticed by the naked eye. I think their only intention is to make money through this route and rip customers off. Countless customers have pointed this point out in their complaints.

The guy behind the desk was like a robot and was totally unresponsive to my pleas. The inspector is where the initial problem lies. I think he is trained to find issues like this on helpless customers.

They are just a big fraud company and all the employees need to be behind bars for acting like criminals. How can something like this be allowed to go on?

My advise : NEVER RENT FROM EASIRENT. THEY ARE A SCAM AND FRAUD COMPANY OUT TO MAKE MONEY. THEY WILL HAVE YOUR MONEY ONE WAY OR THE OTHER AND WILL RIP YOU OFF NO MATTER WHAT. THEY CORNER THE CUSTOMER INTO A SITUATION AND THERE IS NO ESCAPE. THEY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN.
