Dutchess County Board of Elections / David J. Gamache and Francis A.Knapp Commisssioners

1 NY, United States

In Dutchess County New York voters are being instructed to register two times if they want to vote!I thought this was an illegal act but evidently it is the Board of Elections instructing you and forcing people to register twice. I know this is true because I have paperwork to prove it. Even if you are already officially registered with an I.D number and card you are being sent paperwork this week Oct.15th 2008 (After the registration deadline) and being told even though you are already registered that you have to reregister. Oh by the way they do not send your original form showing what you did wrong just a paper saying you have to reregister. When you ask the simple question " Why should you reregister when you have already received your official card saying everything is alright?" You are told you have to, then you will have NO PROBLEMS when you go to vote. I think the problem here is very clear to see. If you register twice it is illegal, that is why the FBI is investigating people who register twice isn't it? And if you don't send their form in you can't vote! I think that is illegal also. Isn't it? Although none of this is unusual in Dutchess County, New York USA. In fact it is quite common to complain to every agency and have it hushed up.
