Durban Central Panel Beaters personal items taken from vehicle

On wednesday 19 october 2018 at 8 30am, I had dropped off my vehicle at durban central panel beaters for the 2nd time after the original job done on my vehicle. It was just to repaint my bumper as the paint was peeling from the original job, however when I contacted them during the day they advised me to pick up my car at 4 30pm. When I arrived I waited until 5 30pm for my vehicle to be ready. I had collected my car from the back gate, road side and noticed my usb was not in the usb port, I called but their office was closed as I was already on the road and they were closing. I later sent an email to their head office to notify them of this. But that wasn't the only thing missing, the next day I could not find my car charger which I had put into the cubby on wednesday morning when I dropped off my vehicle. I called to notify the branch of this on friday morning (today) was put on hold for a long time. So as I was due to go to the branch this morning for my vehicle bumper to be polished, I had seen the adviser and asked her about my usb and charger. She checked around with the staff but claims no one has seen it. Clearly there is theft happening at this branch, I could be the first who has noticed this or maybe there are others who have just not complained. This is rather upsetting as I now have to replace my belongings whilst the staff at durban central panelbeaters say we will look into it but with no guarantee of finding it. I will not recoment anyone to them. This matter should be addressed urgently, and my belongings returned or replaced. They should investigate theft happening within their company and reprimand those involved.

Durban Central Panel Beaters Poor service

Good day Please note that it is with great concern that I send this email…. On the 24/11/2015 my vehicle a 2015 Mercedes A220 CDI went into Durban Central Panel Beaters for the repair of a side dent. In my consultation with the accessor, I was advised that the door would have to be replaced. It is at this time that I had already understood that this would be the case, as I had 2 insurances on my vehicle. Meaning, a scratch and dent insurance (SMART, see attached ) and my comprehensive Insurance with Standard Bank Insurance Brokers. On the assessment of the vehicle with Smart Insurance, a quote for the complete repair of the door would have cost below R3000.00 with no excess however they had stated to me that in order to repair the door and would not replace the door, meaning using some filling agent as the dent was rippled. In checking with Mercedes SA and your offices I opted to claim from my Main insurance hence ensuring that a brand new vehicle would have any of its warrantees compromised or lost all together. Again : I state that on me booking in the vehicle I was assure that the door will be replaced and that other components will also be replaced, However 3 weeks later when I questioned Maggie the consultant at Durban Central I was told that the vehicle had to go in for a respray and that it will be ready on Friday of that week and it was then when I questioned the delay and asked her if the door had been replaced or repaired did she state that it was repaired. ( I state at this point that my numerous conversations with other panel beaters clearly indicate that the door could be repaired with a filling agent, this was against the warranty conditions of a Brand new vehicle and would cause the value of the vehicle to depreciate considerably) Also this repair cost me R4500 as per my excess however If I knew the same work was been done I would have sent the vehicle to Smart Insure with no cost to myself and no one would be the wiser. This is unacceptable from a service point to transparency.

Firstly, I sympathise to this person as I know how you feel - http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/durban-central-panel-beater-c197533.html I had an attempted Hi-Jacking but my car, Toyota Corolla RXI, was saved thanks to a quick response by the witnesses around. In the incident, my vehicle sustained Minor to Moderate Damage, only cosmetic damage and...
