Anyone had a doctor at the duke university hospital eye clinic, Did whats called silicone oil injection to the eye.

If this silicone oil is left in the eye longer than 6 months to a year it will cause damage.

Dr Maurice B Landers III injected silicone oil in my left eye and told me it will cause damage, But he never told me what the damage would be.

The silicone oil causes cataracts, Glaucoma and other problems.

Dr Maurice B Landers III states on record that this surgery must be done by a well experience eye surgeon, And cannot be done by a resident.

After Dr. Maurice B Landers III injected my eye and at least one other persons eye in the mid 1980s he told me that he was leaving Duke and taking a Chief Of Retina job in California.

And that he was leaving me with a resident doctor.

Duke University stated on record that they removed the silicone oil, But this is untrue.

Dr.Maurice B Landers III wrote a book about silicone oil and retina detachment which came out around 1985.

He did this silicone oil experiment research which was not approved by the FDA at the time.

I researched and found that he never worked as Chief Of Retina in the state of california.

So I am wondering why he left Duke in the first place, Was it because he did the silicone oil injection in other patients and the hospital had to pay out settlements, And a cover up ?

I have found after further research that Duke is bad about covering up and not taking responsibility for the actions of the hospital or doctors.

I also read where they tried covering up the latest problem they had when surgical instruments were cleaned in hydraulic fluid and used on patients.

Dukes Risk Management Department is so rude and does not care about the patients. No matter how much evidence you submit to them, They will not budge.

I am looking for a Group of people, Who had silicone oil injected into the eye at Duke, Or anyone who has had any kind of surgery that had problems. And when confronted the hospital with your concerns but they would not listen.

I certainly agree with the comment that Duke Risk Management does not care about the patients. I had the same experience, they only advocate for their own, patients are regarded as the enemy and they will do anything to say how great their providers are no matter how much evidence you have to the contrary, or even if you point out specifically where providers have broken Duke's own rules of conduct.
To think that the people in Risk Management are the unbiased arbitrators of disputes between patients and providers is a laugh. How could they be? They have an inherent conflict of interest in that they are paid to work for Duke not the patient.
What is needed is a completely independent, outside entity to mediate such conflicts.
I suggest that you contact the NC State Board of Medical Examiners and ask them to intervene.
