I found a posting for Sports marketing on Craigslist and sent my resume in. In less then an hour I received the following email.

I scheduled an interview for the next day and drove the hour over for a 10 min interview. It was in an office suite with no names or logos. The receptionist called back and a guy dressed to the nines [but didn't have a pen] came out and had me fill out an information sheet. Which was a waste of time, since all of the information was on my resume that I was holding anyways.

During the interview they asked if I was interested in sports and when I could start. Honestly, I think they were just making sure I had a pulse. After giving a fast and smooth talk about selling Washington National Baseball tickets and the chance to be in management in 8 months. He invited me to come back the next day to "shadow" someone. He said by the evening of the second day I would know if I was hired.

I did some research when I got home

1-The website was created and last updated on Feb 2, 2010 and registered to eStream, Inc. out in Laguna Hills, CA.

2-The phone number is registered to Outward Insights in Burlington, MA

3-The address on the website 217 Midlesex Turnpike
Burlington Massachusetts 01803 is a worn down building that is for lease and I found a couple of websites that connect the address with the Dynasty Scam.

4-When I called the [protected] number before 8 am, it was some strange answering message that sounded like it was for a law firm. I called after 8, and a guy picked up. I told him that I wasn't going to come in for the second interview and he asked why. I told him that I wouldn't be able to make it. He said that would be to bad, because this was the last day they were doing interview.

5-The head of the "HR Department" called from a NH cell phone asking if I was on my way to the interview. I was already 20 mins late and had called to cancel.

So anyways I decided to skip the 1 1/2 hours commute

I had something similar happen to me too. A recruiter called me (I actually knew her personally) but played it off like she didn't know me. Then halfway through the call she decided not to go forth with the "interview". I got that same stupid email an hour and a half later so I called back the next day and she stonewalled me again. They take advantage of desparate people in tough times and I hope they all fall in a ditch.

Thanks for the heads up. My daughter received a call from this company after she posted her resume online. I'm glad i checked into this before i let her take a 1hour train ride and then catch 2 business for nothing.

Thanks for the input! I was contacted with the same exact email and phone call. Website looks suspicious so I decided to do a little investigating. Happy to not waste my time and gas. Thanks again!

I have seen these types of scams before. The involve trespassing on the property of of other businesses and sell sports paraphernalia. The first one I almost went to was supposedly doing it for "charity" (only 1% of each sale went to charity, and not all items sold were part of the charity thing.) The commissions are ridiculously small and you work the longest hours ever. Anthony, I wish you luck.

The same EXACT thing happened to me. Good thing I read the above post before I decided to waste my time & gas going there! The website doesn't list any job opportunites & is very vague. Oh and by the way, if they did have two offices, don't you think they would list BOTH addresses?!?! Just asking...

Have you ever thought WOW! This company might have two offices? This post is funny, i have an interview next Wednesday. I am going to go in and see for myself, so far this is just the opinion of an ignorant person.

THANK YOU! I thought this was a scam! They called me today. I thought it was weird that a company in McLean would have a MA area code...

Just finished my second "interview" with them yesterday and everything mentioned above is 100% true. This job is a f***ing joke. When you shadow it really is degrading, annoying, door to door sales for nats tickets. They sweet talk you and make everything sound like golden roads And rainbows. At the end of the 1 day shadow I told him straight up " this is not right, and not for me." and left immediatly. Some of the day 3 trainees and the lead weren't exactly intelligent so I could see why they were there.

So to conclude, they will be vague as to what you'll be doing. They will tell you you'll be a manager after a year or something. All they want are interns and those of us desperate for a "job" to latch on. Stick to your serving/retail position, you'll thank me later.

Oh and they don't tax your commission and solicit in areas that forbid it, not that that is illegal or anything...

The above posting is TRUE...I am 4 years out of college and fell for this scam as well, you will post your resume online, get a call about 3 hours later (be wary of ANY employer calling you like that) and ask for an interview. Basically it is a door to door sales job, cold calling, and living off of crappy commissions. You will use your own car to drive around to the spots they want you to work in, have to wear suits and ties (ladies: high heels!) and walk in the 90 degree DC humid heat and sell tickets to a baseball team that was last place in the entire league last year. Tell me the redeeming factors of that. In the interview they will offer you $300 worth of tickets to sell to family and friends and businesses. If you do go to this interview, which you shouldnt, hang around for 5 minutes afterwards. There will be another person, such as yourself going in for the same interview. They will interview like 20 people in one day 2 times a week. Same sales pitch, same offer and everything. This is a true scam, dont waste your time and never take job offers that call you 3 hours you post your resume online. It may feel nice to have an interview, get dressed up and feel like you are going to live the corporate life but forget it with these people.

Ask these questions: where is their website? what is their address? (they usually use rental offices)
