I am extremely upset at the results of my botched cosmetic procedure by Dr. Mosser. He is an inexperienced doctor who makes false promises just so he can get paid. Both Dr. Mosser and his office staff are completely inept at even the simplest tasks. Once he "tries his best" at the procedure, good luck trying to get a hold of him with any follow up issues. At my initial meeting with Dr. Mosser, he laid out a plan on how to proceed with my breast augmentation. I told him my concerns and reasons why I wanted the augmentation (mainly due to rippling of the skin from my previous breast enhancement.) Dr. Mosser said he could fix the issues and I proceeded to have the surgery. About 6 months after the surgery, I noticed most of the initial issues were still present and a few new ones existed. I tried multiple times to get a hold of Dr. Mosser to discuss these unsatisfactory results and he was always either away on vacation or out of the office. There were several instances when we had a call scheduled and he would keep pushing it out three or four times. When I finally did reach him, his only explanation for the new scars and ripples was that nothing is going to be perfect. When I demanded that he fix the issues that he created, he simply dismissed me and said he cannot do anything to fix it. When I pressed further, he stated he would replace the strattice to eliminate the rippling. After several more discussions about the cost of this second procedure wherein he agreed to cover all costs, he later changed his mind and stated there was nothing he could do to fix it. He refused to do the surgery simply because he had agreed to cover all costs associated with it.

I understand some procedures are not perfect. This is not my first time having this type of procedure. So I went to get several opinions from other doctors. I have been to five other doctors and they have all said that the scars and rippling should not have occurred from this procedure, and that it is possible to fix. I've given these new doctors my surgical report so they know exactly what was done. When I went back to Dr. Mosser to inform him of the different methods of fixing my issues that these other doctors suggested, he pretended he didn't know anything about it! He left the office to google the procedures and consult the internet about these standard procedures. The solutions the other doctors presented were to inject fat to reduce the rippling or to use a thicker stratice so the scars would not be visible. Dr. Mosser simply said that he does not know how to do these other procedures and that he will not fix the issues he created. Dr. Mosser is completely incompetent and should not be trusted! He did an amateur job, botched the results, and refuses to spend any time or money tending to his patient. Dr. Mosser got his money for the first operation and does not care that he did a terrible job.

Whenever I take on a case of a severe deformation from a prior surgeon’s work, the situation is often difficult, both from a technical standpoint and also because the issue may have been difficult for the patient for years before even reaching our office.
Sometimes the deformities resulting from prior surgery cannot be fully corrected, but only can be significantly improved. We make a strong effort in my office to discuss the limitations of plastic surgery with patients in these special situations.
I am available for extensive discussions with patients, before and after surgery, even (and especially) if the discussions are complex enough to be a cumulative total of many hours. These conferences can indeed be a challenge to schedule with our patients who live in far away countries. We are committed to a forthright presentation of the situation, available options and scientific limitations, even if such limitations may be difficult for a patient to hear. As much as I am always disappointed when a patient is not satisfied, I remain committed to an honest presentation of the facts.
We are well versed in fat grafting, as well as the use of materials such as Strattice and other acellular dermal matrix materials. I am well experienced in the uses, limitations and potential problems of these products.
I am deeply concerned about getting as close as possible to perfection and wish it were attainable in every case. In most cases, we can improve a patient greatly, but we cannot always completely correct all of the problematic features of a prior surgeon’s work.
