My husband and I both went in to see Doctor Csapoczi today for refills of our medications. We used to see another doctor at another clinic but he retired. This was the only doctor we were able to see and it was the visit from hell. We waited almost three hours in the room for him to finally come in. He did not speak very good English and it was hard at times to understand him. All we wanted were refills for our pain medications. I have severe, degenerative arthritis in my knee and have been taking my pain meds for years now. My husband has a fused vertebrae in his back and has also been taking pain meds for awhile. We are mature, responsible adults with valid medical reasons that have been established through tests in the past showing our need for the pain medications. We do not abuse nor overuse any medication and take the bare minimum so that we may function. When Doctor Csapoczi started talking to me about my knee pain, he said, and I quote 'surgery surgery surgery surgery surgery surgery' about ten times in a row without giving me a chance to tell him no, that it was my body and I was not going to have surgery. When I finally did interrupt and say that, he didn't like that. And soon sent me off to have blood work done (even after I had told him I'd had blood work done at the other clinic just two months prior and everything was fine). The technician taking the blood was completely incompetent and ended up badly bruising my arm, obviously having no idea how to properly take blood. While that was being done to me, my husband was seeing Doctor Csapoczi to get a prescription for his pain medication. The doctor outright dismissed my husband's claims and would not listen to him at all that he was in pain and needed the medication. It says on a poster on the wall of the room 'Your report of pain will be believed. Staff committed to pain relief and management.' Evidently that is a lie. Before we left I asked the nurse/clerk, whomever she was if the doctor had our prescriptions ready for our pain medicine. To which she said it would all be faxed over to the pharmacy. That was concerning considering that this medication has to be hand-written and hand-delivered. So I asked again, being specific with the medication name itself and asking her if the doctor had written out a prescription for it and if it would be done correctly. Again the nurse lied straight to my face and said yes. We get to the pharmacy and find out the prescriptions awaiting us are anti-psychotics, plain acetaminophen and naproxen. We cannot just quit taking the pain medication that we have been taking for years, it can cause severe and sometimes life-threatening reactions to just quit. The doctor knew full well that we were out of the medication and needed the refill. He could have given us a half prescription, or a prescription of something else. But instead he chose to give us anti-psychotics. I am 43 years old, I do not smoke or drink or do any illegal drugs. I do not abuse or overuse any medication and never have. I am a mature, responsible adult and should not be treated like a stupid 20 year old kid wanting to pop pills to get high. That is not me and it's an insult and very offensive to be treated in the way that I was. This is incompetence in it's worst form. I will be filing a complaint directly to the Medical Board of the state against this doctor for endangering my life.

And every competent doctor will tell their patient they cannot just stop taking pain meds that they have been taking for years. That is endangering their health. Yes people can live without pain meds, but that wasn't the complaint, was it? The complaint was that the doctor did not listen and was incompetent. If you were not there and did not experience this yourself, then what right do you have to argue over a point that isn't even relevant?

You people obviously can't read or understand what it is that I wrote. And if this doesn't directly concern you, why are you replying? When I posted this same message on my facebook page I got numerous positive comments from former patients of his praising me for finally bringing public the incompetency of this doctor, the staff at the clinic and the general way the clinic is run. Comments included one woman saying that she had told this doctor again and again she could not take one type of blood pressure medication, but he kept pushing it. She told him again that it had given her a reaction and told the receptionist on the way out to make sure the doctor not fax the med she couldn't take. No one listened to her. She got to the pharmacy and thankfully they hadn't filled it, already knowing she had a reaction to it. Another former patient went to him after hurting her wrist. She just waanted it looked at. Instead of examing it he prescribed her anti-psychotics as well. She didn't want or ask for any pain meds. After going to the emergency room she found out her wrist was broken. There are more complaints I can write about. This doctor is incompetent and should not be allowed to practice medicine. This is why I wrote this. To warn others about him.

I fully agree with Ann's complaint about this quack. I saw him once and will not go back ever again. I needed refills on my migraine medication, Imitrex, and he kept telling me over and over 'You should have acupuncture or see a psychiatrist'. I have seen a neuroligist and these are migraines, simple as that.He wouldn't even fax over my Imitrex, but instaed he wrote for Prozac. This quack doesn't believe any of his patients. When I had first asked around my friends who they saw, they all said not to see this nut. But here in the Valley you are extremely limited who you can see and don't have a choice. I went to the emergency room after this experience and they not only gave me a prescription for a weeks supply of Imitrex but helped me find a real doctor

I understand and I am sorry you have to deal with such a horrid doctor. I have had similar experiences with doctors. Maybe California is where all the cruelest uncaring doctors are located. A few years ago, I had a doctor ignore my symptoms, and refused to listen to anything I was communicating to him. I had a serious health issue and found out that I would have died if I had not gone to the ER a few nights later. I have dealt with doctors that ignored my pain, ignored symptoms I was displaying and understand your frustration. I had a serious case of UTI infection, and called my doctor for an appointment. I waited all day for the medical assistant to call me. When she did she stated the doctor had left a prescription for Motrin. I cannot take Motrin and told him that! After a visit to Urgent Care; I had a extremely bad URI infection. It was extremely bad. I suggest you file a complaint against him with your provider. I am tired of dealing with horrid indifferent doctors. If a doctor ignores my concerns, I request a new one. I hope you are able to find a doctor that will give you high quality care. I live with pain also, and I know how disabling it can be. With pain medication, I am able to function on a higher level than without it. There is nothing that can be done to relieve it, so, like you, I have to cope. Not everyone is drug seeking, and truly live in pain daily. People that do not are usually cruel about it assuming anyone with pain are just for a high or addicted to it. Pain, is not something I would not have wished on his worse enemy. My blood pressure is constantly high because of pain. I wake up at night because of pain. I cannot participate in family events because of pain. You are not alone.
