You need to have two separate receptions, casualty and emergency so you can charge patients according to the reception they went in. Currently you have one reception with an emergency sign, but you still call it casualty and you change patients both emergency and casualty at the same time. WHY Unitas WHY? Unitas is known as a netcare hospital but you will find non netcare doctors (I don't mind that), but you need to make patients aware the doctor is non netcare. Only when the invoice comes then the patients get surprise. For the fact that I am in a netcare hospital I have an impression that doctors are listed to netcare that is why I won't ask as a petient. This make us looks bad to our medical aid schemes, they think we are getting something from you over charging them. We all know medical aid funds allocated are non limited but do not over charge please.

I was recently admitted at Unitas and my medical aid was surprised to learn that I had to pay for the 6800 demanded from me. This is a very wrong practice and the hospital needs to do something about this. I felt very harrassed at all costs.

The Same thing happened to me. Went to unitas hospital emergency rooms and the doctor who assisted apparently is not contracted with the medical aid. How is that possible and why was I not told before what procedure was going to be followed šŸ˜. Now I'm sitting with an invoice I have to pay and they say I will claim at the medical aid. As to how true is that I am not sure

Seems like this is their model of business, the did the same to me, worst part is the doctor we saw told us the baby we brought in was incompetent, she told us the baby is just upset and emotional. 5 days later the baby gets admitted in Pretoria after seeing a paediatrician. Won't pay till I get my statement want it to claim back form the medical aid.

Seems like it is a thing with Unitas since I also have a similar issue, worst part is we saw an incompetent doctor who gave us no help and discharged the baby without helping, 5 days later the baby was admitted to another hospital in Pretoria. I'll be contacting the medical board about this.
