My goal - I want Dr. Bunny Vreeland's service just to be more honest and upfront (no refund) just change and let people know what her Training, education, experience and other qualifications truly are (full disclosure) I spent around $200 services, it was a learning thing for me. I have read today a lady lost more. That is where I got the link and looked into the claims and feel a little misled and want to give others a fair warning.

Whoever you people are you obviously have an agenda against Dr Bunny, and your ivestigation into her credentials is MEANINGLESS up against what she has done to help people. Why dont you do a little bit of investigating into some of the people that have overcome major obstacles in life thanks to Dr Bunny's therapy.

“...What makes this subject even more confusing is that sometimes these diploma mills use the same name as legitimate colleges, but they exist in different states or sometimes even different countries. Just remember: in the United States there is no such thing as a Bachelors, Masters or Ph.D. in hypnosis or hypnotherapy.

Unfortunately, it's easy for anyone to buy degrees (in many different subjects) from diploma mills. When consulting a hypnotist or hypnotherapist outside of your normal health-care plan who presents themselves as a "Dr." or "Ph.D.", you may want to ask them if they are licensed to practice medicine or therapy by the state. Note: there are legitimate licensed medical, psychological and counseling professionals who use hypnosis as part of their therapeutic practice...

Does not look like "Dr." Bunny Vreeland has met the basics below:

What follows below are the education requirements for hypnotherapist in California. California is the leader in standardizing these requirements. All therapist at the Hypnotherapy Wellness Centers have met these requirements.

In summary:

Select only Certified Hypnotherapist. You should select Hypnotherapist who have attended a brick & mortar schools with experiential training from registered teachers. (Internet sites and weekend seminars, along with traveling road shows, do not make a hypnotherapist)! See the diploma and check if it is a diploma or merely a certificate of completion. Certificate of completion only represents attendance of minimal hours without taking test or being evaluated by qualified instructors.

Select hypnotherapist who are certified by non-profit or unaffiliated organizations. Ask for the level of training from your Hypnotherapist and if they receive CEU's for their continued certification.

Education and Training of Hypnotherapists. Throughout the United States, hypnosis career training programs must be approved or licensed by the appropriate agency of that state. For example, the latest major update in the law was the Private Postsecondary Education Act of 1998 in California, it required that training schools for hypnotists in non-degree programs be approved by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education (BPPVE). One intent of this legislation is to protect the integrity of diplomas conferred by privately-supported educational institutions. It is increasing the opportunities for training in hypnosis in California.

To gain BPPVE approval, the schools must meet specific standards for their instructors, and they must follow prescribed standards for facilities, record keeping, and insurance.

HA HA HA HA HA! That is hilarious, she is now claiming that through the use of sophisticated internet tracking techniques, within TWO WEEKS the ComplaintsBoard.com website administrators and the District Attorney's office have taken action. "I have been advised not to comment pending legal action"... oh sure, but then I'll post on my blog in a lame attempt to scare people who are exposing me as a fraud.

ComplaintsBoard administrators: have you provided our IP and email information to the DA and "Dr. Bunny"? LOL ... yeah right.

She is seriously deluded - "all these complaints are by the same person"? The insane thing is that she, while calling herself a Doctor and not stating the alternative (aka. worthless) nature of her "degree", continues to offer medical advice regarding diagnosis and symptoms, is advising clients to stop taking prescribed medication and does not understand that she is therefore PRACTICING MEDICINE WITHOUT A LICENSE.

Believe it or not, she honestly believes that she is a "Dr." It is more pathetic than a simple case of fraud or misrepresentation on her part. But, in a way, this makes her even more dangerous!

I do not like her approach, first she seems not very truthful about her education and now, she is trying to scare those people who are trying share their experience.

Here (untruthful warning)

http://bunnyvreeland.wordpress.com/2007/06/04/important-notice-regarding-falsified-internet-complaints/

To you that are trying to present your case and she can share her case. This would not be a criminal case, but a civil case.

"...In California, the right to speak anonymously springs from both the First Amendment and the right of privacy in the California constitution. (See, e.g., Rancho Publications v. Superior Court (1999) 68 Cal.App.4th 1538, 1541, which held that the plaintiff may not use discovery procedures to obtain identities of anonymous individuals who paid for newspaper ads criticizing the plaintiff.) "Company Lawsuits Against Anonymous Internet Posters California Anti-SLAPP Project)

Why can she not be honest?

Interestingly, the scammer profiled in this complaint Bunny Vreeland , has not appeared here to defend the degree mill she received the fake Ph.D from. So, she must know it is not valid, and should take down her website:

It is sad that "Dr." Bunny Vreeland truly does seem to believe that her "degree" actually means something.

She says "The DCH is recognized worldwide"... What does that mean? In reality, the DCH is recognized by NO ONE, except the people who buy them and the people who sell them.

Even with her "extensive" doctoral training, she seems to lack the understanding that based on what she claims on her website, SHE IS PRACTICING MEDICINE WITHOUT A LICENSE, a serious crime.

I actually feel a little sorry for her because she really seems to think that she "earned" a Ph.D. The fact is, most legitimate professional hypnotists laugh at people who use these kinds of degrees.

I doubt anyone can convince her that she is deluded about her worthless degree, because it's hard to accept that fact that she's fallen for a scam.

There is no misunderstanding. You misrepresent your education to me. Let me set the record straight:

You did give a disclosure no where does it state (unless you have changed it) you went to a school that has a and received an education from a place that is basically a Diploma Mill. There are no secrets? Well perhaps your idea of with holding the truth or valid important data as being truthful You state you are proud of your background and worked very hard for it. Well let’s look at your statement and see how proud one should be:

I did not buy my Ph.D. any more than John Grey, (author of Men are From Mars...) Louise Hays or any of the other notables who have alternative degrees. Let’s John Grey, (author of Men are From Mars...) and Louise Hays both graduated from Columbia Pacific University allowed itself to deteriorate to the extent that it lost its Full Institutional Approval and license to practice in the State of California and in October 2000, the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education’s denial of CPU’s re-approval application was upheld and affirmed by the California Supreme Court. However, the court and the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education stated and decreed that CPU degrees awarded before June 25, 1997 are legally valid. However after that date they are not valid.
California's Deputy Attorney General Asher Rubin called CPU "a diploma mill" as well as "a consumer fraud, a complete scam" and a "phony operation" which offered "totally worthless [degrees]...to enrich its unprincipled promoters." The Associated Press reported that the state had been trying to shut down the correspondence school almost from the day it opened, saying CPU "had virtually no academic standards."[ Truth Vs. Falsehood: How to Tell the Difference (Paperback) by David R. Hawkins (Author)
According to the California website 2007 “..Although Columbia Pacific University (CPU) is pursuing various legal remedies to regain its approval, CPU is not currently authorized to operate as a degree-granting institution in California...“

COLUMBIA PACIFIC “UNIVERSITY” IS NOW NOTHING MORE THAN A PUBLIC CHARITY ACCORDING TO THE INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE

Incredibly, amazingly, the link provided by Coblin http://www.cpuniv.us./ does not show Columbia Pacific University to be a non-profit “university”, but instead, is actually a Public Charity according to the IRS! Not a “university” as claimed by Coblin, but a Public Charity. Coblin is nothing more than a liar and fabricator.

Read the entire letter from the IRS here http://www.cpuniv.us./images/irs2.jpg

NOW let’s talk about your University

Bunny-Your PHD in Clinical Hypnotherapy from Huntington Pacific University is fully accredited by the World Association of Universities and Colleges (WAUC). And a troubling statement of “... HPU has chosen not to pursue accreditation from regional and/or programmatic agencies associated with the U.S. Department of Education... ” http://www.hpu-edu.com/generalinfo.htm

Note-The World Association of Universities and Colleges, WAUC, is an institutional accrediting body not recognized by the United States Department of Education. It is run by Maxine Asher, director of the American World University, an unaccredited school. WAUC's website claims that "laws in the U.S.A. prohibit the recognition of global accreditation associations."

Huntington Pacific University’s webpage:

When one goes to the contact page http://www.hpu-edu.com/contact.htm

And click on the link Admissions At Huntington Pacific University it opens to a hpuniversity@earthlink.net. Now how professional is this? It sure does not seem very professional

Bunny you state “I did not buy my Ph.D”

“PAY AS YOU LEARN” OPTIONS

Did you decide on the “ Professional Doctorate Degree (DCH, DMP, DBP, DAH) - $6,950” and Option #1 - $1,500 down. Balance paid in 12 consecutive equal monthly installments.

Or choose One-time payment in full?

http://www.hpu-edu.com/tuition.htm

You also said “... One of the noteworthy developments in higher education has been the advent and growth of what are called Professional Doctorate Degrees (also sometimes called "Technical" or "Clinical" Degrees). For those of you not familiar with them, these are "non-academic" degrees as opposed to the "academic", i.e., MA or Ph.D. Are you talking about Bruce E. Kaloski, Ph.D

Bruce E. Kaloski, Ph.D – who is Chancellor of Huntington Pacific University?

-Executive Director of Success Trak Enterprises,
-past president of the American Medical Hypnotherapy Association,
-past president of the American Board of Hypnotherapy,
-co-founder of the American Institute of Hypnotherapy, E
-executive Director of the International Alternative Therapists Association, and a Fellow of the National Board for Hypnotherapy and Hypnotic Anesthesiology

This makes sense because it states on General Information Mr Kaloski connections seem helpful for the people who go with his program

One reads the following “..HPU is affiliated with a number of proprietary certifying organizations and associations. These currently include the American Board of Clinical and Medical Hypnotherapy, the International Alternative Therapists Association and Success Trak Professional Training Institute. In most cases, the completion of assigned degree program courses includes certification and/or membership and/or registration by the appropriate association or organization at no additional cost to the student…”
It also , implies

“... The non-traditional concept of our self-directed programs does not set a time limit on the student, thereby graduation can occur at any time the student has completed his or her study requirements, met all financial obligations and been recommended for graduation by the core faculty... ” see degree programs http://www.hpu-edu.com/

Clinical Hypnotherapy Training & Certification
Of course we do. It is not yet offered in 'traditional' universities.

For instance, a Medical Doctor holds an MD - a non-academic "Professional" degree. The other professionals with such Doctorates that you're probably familiar with include:

Chiropractors (DC)- A chiropractic program consists of 4 academic years of professional education averaging a total of 4,822 hours, and ranging from 4,400 hours to 5,220 hours in the 16 colleges. This includes an average of 1,975 hours in clinical sciences and 1,405 hours of clinical clerkship. The minimum hours for accreditation by the Council on Chiropractic Education is 4,200 hours. (CHIROPRACTIC TRAINING Ian D. Coulter, PhD; Alan H. Adams, DC; Ruth Sandefur, DC, PhD 1996 study) this is not the same as your degree

Dentists (DDS or DMD) To become a general dentist, three or more years of undergraduate college education degree (typically with a strong science foundation) plus four years of dental school is required. After graduating, dentists must take a licensure examination which is required by the state

Optometrists (OD) The OD degree is usually completed in four years. In general, the four-year programme includes classroom and clinical training in geometric, physical, physiological and ophthalmic optics, ocular anatomy, ocular disease, ocular myotology, ocular pharmacology, neuroanatomy and neurophysiology of the vision system, color, form, space, movement and vision perception, design and modification of the visual environment, vision performance and screening. Unique to the educational requirements of optometrists is the advanced study of optics, the science of light and vision, and extensive training in lens design, construction, application and fitting.

Osteopaths (DO) an osteopath completes 4 years of medical school and can choose to practice in any specialty of medicine. However, osteopaths receive an additional 300 to 500 hours in the study of hands-on manual medicine and the body's musculoskeletal system. M.D.s, osteopaths are licensed at the state level. Osteopaths who wish to specialize may become "board certified" (in much the same manner as M.D.s) by completing a 2- to 6-year residency within the specialty area and passing the board certification exams.

Psychologists (Psy. D) Successful completion of all requirements for Masters by Coursework in Psychology (at sixth year level or equivalent) except for Psychology Minor Thesis and satisfactory progress in Psychology Minor Thesis. The program comprises a total of 144 units of study. If the clinical or forensic psychology options are chosen, the coursework component consists of 69 units, the professional placements consist of 21 units, and the thesis consists of 54 units. If the organisational psychology option is chosen, coursework consists of 67.5 units, professional placements 22.5 units and the thesis 54 units.
The first two years of the program consist of the Master of Psychology (Clinical), Master of Psychology (Forensic) or Master of Psychology (Organisational) which are fully nested within the Doctor of Psychology degree. Third and fourth years build upon the first two years by allowing further specialization at doctoral level. The Doctor of Psychology degree may be completed in a total of four years of full-time study or the equivalent of part-time study.

Naturopathics (ND) A licensed naturopathic physician (ND) attends a four-year graduate level naturopathic medical school and is educated in all of the same basic sciences as an MD but also studies holistic and nontoxic approaches to therapy with a strong emphasis on disease prevention and optimizing wellness. In addition to a standard medical curriculum, the naturopathic physician is required to complete four years of training in clinical nutrition, acupuncture, homeopathic medicine, botanical medicine, psychology and lifestyle counseling. A naturopathic physician takes rigorous professional board exams to be licensed by a state or jurisdiction as a primary care physician.

And then there are those you might not be as familiar with who also hold Professional Doctorates, such as:

Physical Therapists A California physical therapist has completed an accredited four-to-six-year college program or if educated in a foreign country has met the educational requirements in physical therapy, including studies in biology, basic medical sciences, and clinical experience. Studies focus on the evaluation and treatment of the heart, lungs, muscles, bones, and the nervous system. In addition, California physical therapists have passed the national physical therapy examination and an examination on the laws and regulations governing the practice of physical therapy in California they must have completed 92 credits of undergraduate study including the core and other requirements FOR Doctor of Physical Therapy professional program.

Pharmacists Pharm.D. is a 4-year program that requires at least 2 years of college study prior to admittance, although most applicants have completed 3 years. Entry requirements usually include courses in mathematics and natural sciences, such as chemistry, biology, and physics, as well as courses in the humanities and social sciences. Approximately two-thirds of all colleges require applicants to take the Pharmacy College Admissions Test (PCAT).

In 2003, the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) launched the Pharmacy College Application Service, known as PharmCAS, for students who are interested in applying to schools and colleges of pharmacy. This centralized service allows applicants to use a single Web-based application and one set of transcripts to apply to multiple schools of pharmacy. A total of 43 schools participated in 2003.
In the 2003–04 academic year, 67 colleges of pharmacy awarded the master-of-science degree or the Ph.D. degree. Both degrees are awarded after the completion of a Pharm.D. degree and are designed for those who want more laboratory and research experience. Many master’s and Ph.D. degree holders do research for a drug company or teach at a university. Other options for pharmacy graduates who are interested in further training include 1-year or 2-year residency programs or fellowships. Pharmacy residencies are postgraduate training programs in pharmacy practice and usually require the completion of a research study. There currently are more than 700 residency training programs nationwide.

As you can see Bunny you choose some poor examples and compare years of training and a well regulated body vs. “ your school”

Gil Boyne, one of the top hypnosis trainers in the English-speaking world... whose reputation is very solid and very well deserved... pointed out in his response that there is no such thing as an accredited degree in hypnosis (no BA, no MA, no PhD) as hypnosis is an unregulated, unlicensed profession (personally, I would like to see it kept that way).

John Dovelos also noted:

“It's true that many universities offering degree programs in hypnotherapy claim to be accredited. However, if you search a little deeper you'll find that their "accreditation" comes from unrecognized (sometimes even bogus) "accrediting" agencies. In some instances, universities set up their own "accrediting" agencies which they use to accredit themselves. As you understand, this type of "accreditation" is useless and it is worse than no accreditation at all. (seeLife of Brian Blog http://briandavidphillips.typepad.com )

Bunny Shame on you to imply the Catholic Church accepted

Professional Degrees for Hypnotherapists (Doctor of Clinical Hypnotherapy or DCH) was pioneered back in the 1980's by the American institute of Hypnotherapy. The DCH is now recognized world-wide. Hypnotherapy is accepted by the AMA, BMA and the Catholic church.

I for one are sad you are practicing Hypnotherapist because you have hurt me, you already mentioned it. And may have hurt hundreds others, that have hidden, because of fear and shame. After the research all will now see you are a fake like I said I want no money just to be safe and others to be safe. You had a damaged me.

in Hypnosis Complication, Risks and Prevention, a research article by Dr. Mac Hovec, in The American Journal of Clinical Hypnosis, 1988, he lists about 50 complications associated with hypnosis and reports that this is only a partial list. The author grouped the complications into five categories:

1. The psychotic symptoms or acute panic attacks
2. Depression with the possibility of suicidal behavior
3. Symptom substitution
4. Symptoms resulting from inadvertent suggestions
5. Masking physical pathology.

He defines hypnotic complications as “unexpected unwanted thoughts, feelings or behaviors during or after hypnosis which are inconsistent with agreed goals and interfere with the hypnotic process by impairing optimal mental functioning with no prior incidents or history of similar mental or physical symptoms.”

Well be happy with your life and I wish you the best.until you are served with the lawsuit on your pas clients and the AG complaint soon. I do this not out of anger but to prevent you from hurting anyone else My my Advice to you. The exposed criminal’s “best defense that money can buy” is the truth. A person must take full responsibility for their actions and hold themselves fully accountable without any excuse. They should never rationalize their criminal conduct.

Ending here is a link with an ad http://www.successtrak.org/hypnosistraining.htm with your Bruce E. Kaloski, Ph.D.- You have him on your references and as your teacher and he is the main contact from the college that you got your PHD.

I find Bunny Vreeland's silence stunning and reveling!

I found the tone and content of the questions to the doctor here intelligent and quite reasonable, in general. It should act as a wake up call to all professional hypnotherapists to either get their act together or wait for the legislators to do it for them. This is not a hobby or a pin money occupation for me and most of my colleagues. It is a lifelong career for which we feel passion and commitment, no less than any medical doctor and much more than many(of my acquaintance).

We know, as professionals, that we have handled and resolved the damage occasionally done by the medical and psychiatric professions. We also know that we have worked alongside the more enlightened members of those same professions with positive effect. This is not a them-versus-us debate. It is a debate we should welcome with anyone involved in the caring professions. Shooting the messenger is not an option.

Dr. Bunny Vreeland,

Now is your chance to defend yourself. It is strange that you are not dealing with the points on your education Why is this? This is a chance to verify your training that you have gone through . On your website you claim to be the following:

"..I’m Bunny Vreeland PhD, a Board Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist. My

Ventura County hypnotherapy practice has helped people stop smoking with hypnosis, lose weight with hypnosis, and reduce stress. Whether you are considering hypnosis for weight loss, hypnosis to stop smoking, or hypnosis to reduce stress, I can help. The name of my business is Image Resource Center.

The concern that should be on all the mids of the people you have been working with is that most of your degree and certifications are given out to anyone that will pay the money and give little time to become properly educated. Many of the exact degrees and certifications on yor website appear in a story :

How to Find a Qualified Hypnotherapist
Steve K. D. Eichel, Ph.D., ABPP
http://www.hypnosisnetwork.com/articles/a/37/This-Cat-Is-Not-a-Hypnotist

So, after everyone copies the link and pastes it in the address bar, then read the story it will bring up many more questions

"... Most people are familiar with sales hype, and generally know the old saying that if it sounds too good to be true…then it probably isn’t. That adage certainly applies to hypnosis as well. Hypnosis tapes (and practitioners!) claiming instant or super-fast results are probably misleading you. There are hypnosis tapes/CDs publishers run by outright hucksters. As a general rule, if the website seems to violate common sense, then have the sense to move on. It is also prudent to avoid tapes, CDs (and their promoters) who claim to be able to “cure” long-term problems, like alcoholism or chronic depression. If these tapes and CDs wind up delaying or preventing someone from obtaining real help, then they have not only failed to "cure," they may have caused actual harm..."

The below link states

"There is no accredited university or college in the United States that offers a degree in hypnosis or hypnotherapy (but there are in the U.K.). Certification by an organization such as the National Guild of Hypnotists can indicate some level of legitimacy and training, but consumers still need to exercise caution.

Unfortunately, it's easy for anyone to purchase a doctorate from diploma mills. When consulting a hypnotist or hypnotherapist outside of your normal health-care plan who presents themselves as a "Dr.", you may want to ask them if they are licensed to practice medicine or therapy by the state. There are legitimate licensed medical, psychological and counseling professionals who use hypnosis as part of their therapeutic practice.

In the end This is not a way ruin your good reputations for if it is built on rock of truth you have nothing to fear. However, if the things are true that you ar accused you deserve legal action taken against you. because this would mean for 25 years and am in very misled and stole from those in your community.

Today is May 15, 2007. It is my birthday. This morning when I turned on my computer I 'googled' my name as my webmaster is doing dome work on my website. I was stunned when a complaint, registered with your company, came up. While I applaud your commitment to helping those who have been taken advantage of, I feel it would have been proper for you to have done some background checking before allowing unproven claims to be registered. This is the way good reputations are ruined.

This is the first and only complaint I have ever had in my entire practice. I have been in business for myself for over 25 years and am in very good standing in my community. I hold Hall of Fame status with the Better Business Bureau of the Tri Counties and am a member in good standing with the Ventura, Oxnard and Camarillo Chambers of Commerce. I am a Paul Harris Fellow with Rotary, International and have been a Soroptomist as well as a member of many other organizations. I have been on the board of over 25 non-profits over the years. I was on the Grand Jury in Ventura County as well as many other recognized services to the community.

I have a Disclosure form that I give to all my clients. Try have a copy as do I, for future records. This client read and signed this form in front of me. We talked about my refund policy. She told me about her life (which I will not disclose), and that she was a very unhappy person who wanted me to 'fix it'. I cannot make someone happy when they are unwilling to do anything for themselves. She sleeps 18 hours a day and is on many medications. If this complaint were valid I would have willingly returned the money. It was not. I want to refute this complaint. How can I do that?

"Huntington Pacific University"recognized by American World University.

WAUC, is an institutional accrediting body not recognized by the United States Department of Education. It is run by Maxine Asher, director of the American World University, an unaccredited school. WAUC's website claims that "laws in the U.S.A. prohibit the recognition of global accreditation associations."

Currently, WAUC lists 21 accredited schools, three schools with accreditation in progress, and 26 "members only" schools. In January 2006, Asher offered "new universities who wish to become member or accredited members of WAUC" a special rate of $100 USD.
