dotcommags This company is a total rip-off

I ordered a total of 3 subscriptions, 2 as gifts, and one for myself for Traditional Home magazine. It has been 5 months and none of us have received a single magazine. Dotcoms website has disappeared, emails come back, etc. I am angry!

Just filled out a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and would urge all of you to do the same.

I ordered Taste of Home magazine on April 10, 2010. It is now October 22, 2010 And I have not received any magazines. It is too late to dispute it with Pay Pal and dotcommags website is non-exsistant. When you call customer service they say they are not taking phone calls.

I ordered two magazine subscriptions with this company on March 10, 2010. I paid through paypal and have already paid the bill. I have not received magazines and now have no recourse. It looks as if the business is gone. This is terrible wrong. What can be done to protect consumers.

Ordered nearly $50 worth of magazines January 25. Directions say that they have 4 months to provide subscriptions. Pay Pal fraud must be submitted in 45 days. So they take your Pay Pal money and tell you to wait 4 months until your right to complain through Pay Pal has passed.

dotcommags Rebuttal

Actually, magazines ordered through a third party such as DOTCOMMAGS take 6-16 weeks to be processed/delivered and it is no secret. They state it in their confirmation emails (if you choose to receive one and who wouldn't since it serves as a receipt) and it it written in black & white on the website in the 'about us' section. I am sure most people look at delivery information BEFORE placing an order for anything online and especially before posting a complaint.

I'm sorry, but it takes well over 16-17 weeks sometimes to get your magazines. When I first started ordering -- they were fantastic, however, I have 4 orders with them right now -- all renewals -- I ordered in plenty of time -- 16-17 wks ago and 3 of my magazines have expired ~ the 4th order was a new order and I still haven't received that magazine. I've sent them numerous emails and have tried reaching someone by phone -- it states the 'mailbox is full' (that's an old scam). I am very disappointed in their service and I'll never use them again. I'm not trying to get my refund for all 4 magazines! I think they are a low end company -- I advise you not to order!

I agree with the complaint. I have emailed them several times and they don't get back to me. If they would just let me know that they are a legitimate business.

They are supposed to have great customer service as it says on their website, but the don't even acknowledge an email.

dotcommags ripoff

ordered 2 magazines through them. they had to refund my money on one magazine because I found it cheaper on my own. Have already heard from the magazine I subscribed to on my own. The one I did through dotcommags (exactly the same date) has never even heard of me even though dotcommags already charged my credit card. It has been almost 2 months. Customer service with dotcommags is no help and has an obviously bad attitude.

I checked out better business bureau prior to purchase 01/22/2010, no reported complaints. If you are serious about your complaints report there so many others will not have to experience your woes. If you choose not to do that, stop complaining and suck it up! Because of your lack of social responsibility (if what you say is true) others will find out the hard way.
Don't shop on line if you can't pay the price of less service with a better bargin, if the price elsewhere is less, then shame on you for doing your home work after the fact, call it a lesson learned and move on.

1. DOTCOMMAGS only mentions it will take 8-12 weeks (for monthly magazines) AFTER you placed the order. They should mention it very clearly before you place the order that it will take 3 months to get your first magazine.

2. I placed an order more than 3 months ago for my monthly magazine, and I have not received any copy so far. They only have email customer support, and I havent got any reply from them yet.

dotcommags paid,but never received mags?

I paid using my debit card for a year subscription to readers digest, but I received only an application to subscribe to that magazine. (which was going to cost about $10.00) How do I get my money back?

I ordered 3 times and 1 subscription I received, the other I did not, and the third was a duplicate subscription (same magazine) that was supposed to go to my father, which he never received either. Too l ate to get my money back from my credit card now and was a dissappointment that it never started as it was supposed to be a gift.

I also place an order back in January and never recieved anything...It is disgusting people can take other peoples hard earned money. Shame on Christopher Morgan! I plan on going to the FTC. Has anyone gotten anywhere with their complaints?

I also lost $40 on these guys... And I paid my credit card with the charge off like 3 months ago, so it's too late.

Now the FTC website is malfunctioning... I spent 20 minutes entering the complaint and then got a, "we cannot process your complaint at this time."

I guess I will just chalk this up to life experience and order directly from magazine publishers in the future.

I am just another one of many who was scammed. I believe we have the rights to file a class action lawsuit. I, too, am calling my bank which is connected to the credit card I used and am fighting the charges. They are pretty good with things like this. I'll also be contacted the above mentioned links but I still feel this person/company knowingly took our money with the knowledge that they wouldn't be able to produce any subscriptions. That is fraud.

Well count me in as another one having been scammed by this thief. I ordered a subscription to Readers Digest large print edition for my elderly mother. Of course she has yet to receive it. I have tried to contact the company to no avail. As others have stated, Paypal is useless as far as getting my money back due to the 45 day dispute period having expired. HOWEVER, DotComMags states that it can take longer than that period for delivery. How infuriating. I wish paypal would step up but of course they won't. I plan to pursue the avenues suggested by others. I will contact the FTC as well as the internet crime link provided. STEER CLEAR OF THIS SHAM OF A COMPANY IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY BEEN A VICTIM!
