Dollar Tree management rudeness

I am an assistant manger at a craft store and as such believe I know the right way to talk to a subordinate. I have been in the Dollar Tree in Helena, Mt on more than one occasion when I have over heard the manager, Len address an associate in a very rude manner. He yells from the office to the cashier reprimanding her for one thing or another. I have also been there when he has told an employee she is " a big Fatty", she is a lame brain and in general belittles the employees that make his job possible.
I would never talk to someone like that. Especially not in front of customers or other employees. I believe it is important for a business to know how it is being representing to the public. I hope you are able to address this issue.

Wow. I can't believe that happened. I'm embarrassed for my company (tail between legs). I can assure you that dollar tree doesn't condone that managers behavior and I know the district manager would love to hear what you witnessed so they could address it. When a complaint is sent through the dollar tree website it drops down to the individual store the complaint originated from. I'm still unclear as to whether corporate can see the comment which is why I urge you to contact the district manager and let them know. I'm certain the manager who treated the employee this way won't be their much longer after treating people like that.

Dollar Tree getting yelled at and asked to work on breaks by my freight manager

Got yelled at by my freight manager inMellisa Morales. She has a very erratic and abrasive personality and the only reason I agreed to work on the overnight shift with her is because the store manager James said that I would be taking over the freight manager position when she left after the new year. Well now that time is here and James has changed what he originally said to if he stays at the store and does not get transfered I will take over the position. But he knows he is being transferred to a new store. So I told James over a week ago I would not work with Melissa Morales anymore and James said OK that she was going on vacation and that we would cross that bridge when we get there. He had ample time to make the necessary schedule changes which he did not do. He's been preoccupied because the yearly inventory review is today the 9th of January 2015 as well as yesterday the 8th. Before I left work on Wednesday I told him again I would not work with Melissa Morales and he said that any other time he would make an exception but could not because it was the night before inventory. So because he did not listen to me in the first place he is trying to make it out like I'm in the wrong. I have worked for dollar tree for over a year and I was trying to work my way up and make it a career, but I cannot and will not be lied to, yelled at and manipulated. I would usually give a two week notice before leaving a job, but these are not ordinary circumstances. Melissa Morales is getting promoted and I want dollar tree to be aware of the type of person their giving that much responsibility to.

Technically it is not uncommon to be promoted at dollar tree after only a year. I see it happen all the time. However, it sounds like they originally thought you might be a good fit but then the longer you worked their they realized you are not right for management. You are a pest like another person commented. You state that you "will not work with" certain people. That right there tells me you would be trouble if you became a supervisor. Grow up and learn to work with people you don't like or don't even bother applying for management. You would hate it.

Dollar Tree rudeness

I was in the Dollar Tree this morning and dealt with a very rude lady. I cannot understand how she continues to get away with it. Every time I am in that store she is rude to me. I entered the store and saw her. I said good morning to her, and she huffed under her breath to me and walked right past me. As I was looking for the items I needed, she followed me down the aisles standing and watching me at the end of each aisle. I went over to the Christmas section and was looking around for some things to make a project that I was working on, and she stood at the register staring at me. I got my items and went to the register. I tried to say good morning to her again, but she just said "mmhhmm" under her breath, wrang up me items, bagged my items and then threw the bags on the counter. She told me the total and I proceeded to swipe my card, and just as I was doing that, another customer entered the store with a box, and went in line behind me. The cashier said to her "What do you want?" and the customer said that she needed to return some glasses that she had purchased. She made a huffing noise under her breath and said that if she wanted cash back she would have to get her supervisor and to step aside so she could help someone else. I had to ask her for my receipt, which she handed to me but while looking at the next person in line. I didn't bother to say goodbye. Guaranteed that If I see her in that store again in the morning, I won't be going in there. Anyone else that works there is pretty friendly. I have not had issues with any of the other employees that work there.

Dollar Tree specific store

This is a complaint about store4366. This complaint is about two managers that "run" that store. Denise, main manager, is very two faced, very rude to customers and employees alike. As a previous employee of there's I know from experience. I've watched her make huge mess in our stockroom and blame it on stockers who weren't present, punished employees for needing to take days off. That's just the tip of the iceberg. The other manager is an assistant manager named Stacy. One of the rudest people I have ever met. She texts employees to talk down to them, she also blames people for her mistakes, makes messes and stops everything she is doing to find some one else to clean or fix it and she is hypocritical and yells at employees making them feel like nothing. This is my complaint

Dollar Tree - Management

Management really sucks. I was in there recently and the management has poorly trained their associates. The associates doesn't know where certain items are and when the associate asks manager they get yelled at and belittled in front of customers. This Dollar Tree is not a place to work at or even visit. The managers and associates need better trainig.

Dollar Tree manager & sales associate

I've been shopping at this Dollar Tree Store for many years but I'm done with this location! This manager is the rudest man I have ever encountered! I don't even know how he keeps his doors open! And he must train his employee the same way. I have the rudest woman the past few times and she can't even say "You're Welcome" when I say "Thank You" they are completely the rudest, no manners at all! So I'm done at that location and I will tell all my friends to "ban" that Dollar Tree Store in the near future as long as those two are still working there. Her name is Kina and I have no clue his name? Maybe they are married to each other would not surprise me one bit! One UNHAPPY CUSTOMER! At least at that place...I SURE HOPE YOU DO SOMETHING!

Dollar Tree unfair and bad managing

The Manager is very unprofessional and rude. He is definitely not suitable for the job. I have been with Dollar Tree for 4 years and have never experienced a Manager so unfriendly. I have seniority over everyone in the store and end up with the 13-18 hours a week while other employees that get 20-25 hours a week. I have OCD on the job and go above and beyond the call of duty. My customers mean the world to me and have plenty of great surveys. There seems to be a CLICK between Mgr and an Asst. Mgr and the employee that receives more hours than I. My customers love me because I make sure I can assist them in any way. This is so unfair! Something needs to be done about this. I feel so unappreciated even after going that extra mile...

Dollar Tree broken toys

I bought 2 toys and when I got them home they were broken. I tried to return them and they said I bought them at k mart. There is no k mart around here. Why would I spend 25.00 dollar and try to scam 2.00. Makes no sense. The manager called me a lair. I will post this on facebook and promote it. The store stole from me and then insulted me. I want action done.

Dollar Tree rude cashier

When I stood in line to check out on 8/23/2014 the cashier Debbie at store #5346 at appox. 5:00 pm was rude. She huffed and puffed about the number of people checking out. She called for back up and continued to complain how we all decided to check out at once. Debbie never smiled. When she began to check me out and bag my items she cursed at the bags for sticking together and dropped my items. I ran my card through and waited for her to key in. My card was denied but instead of informing me she barked at me "did you run your card through" after she tore off the receipt and crumbled it up I replied "yes, it said waiting for cashier" She said "I did my part" I than ran my card through again and asked her if that was my receipt because I didn't want to be charged twice she replied " it's not yours you bought too much stuff" than she informed me it was denied I paid in cash but did not have enough so I asked her to take off 3 items and she huffed and rolled her eyes. She did not know how to removed the items as she said she was new. She received help but instead of just saying she doesn't have enough money she needed to make sure that everyone knew my card had been denied. She told the rest of the customers she was sorry it took so long. Debbie did not give me my receipt I had to take it off the machine myself. She did not seem to enjoy her job and acted as though we the customers were bothering her. However we are the reason she has a job. I have always received friendly service at the store however I was ready to say I didn't want any of the items and leave to never return. She made faces and noises that let everyone know she was not happy to be there.

Dollar Tree retaliation for calling on asst manager

This company does not care about its employees. They list in the break room numbers to call and report misconduct. But even when you call anonymously they find out and then retaliate against you. They do that by cutting your hours and yelling at you and belittling you. We have an asst manager who is a bully. She does what she wants even if it violates company policy. When you complain she does the schedule and cuts your hours. The dm is not reigning this bully in and this store in the last 11 months has had tremendous turnover in employees. All because of her. Even other asst managers have asked to be transferred because of her. There is no way short of hiring an attorney to talk to the top people at dollar tree. The dm needs to talk to employees and find out how they really feel. Also there is rampart drug abuse at this store and management knows and says oh well might be legal soon. Huh? Still illegal here.

Dollar Tree nasty employee

To whom it may concern,
On Friday January 31, 2014 at around 11:30 am I was shopping in the dollar deals store in college point with my 4 year old niece, when an employee shouted across the back of the store to another employee " move the [protected]@@king boats", everyone in ear shot was flabbergasted . My niece repeated what she heard, this is unacceptable behavior for an employee to be verbally abusing another employee especially when customers are present. I approached the potty mouth woman to get her name and read her name off her name tag, which was Johanna .i told her that she should watch how she speaks to people especially in front of little children, I told her I was going to call corporate i asked her for the number and she refused to give me the number, and told me to mind my business and to shop at the family dollar .its no wonder this store is still in business, and that you still have employees working there, I asked around and found that she is a manager, which is even worse for a manager to verbally attack her employees and to send customers to other stores when not satisfied, I will not shop there if she is still employed with your company

Dollar Tree associate making personal sales

One of the associates (named Tony) at the Dollar Tree in West Covina, CA (store #4712 at Eastland center) made everyone very uncomfortable at the checkout stand when he asked patrons to buy a bag of chocolate so he "can reach his goal". He would then proceed to say: "it's just a dollar". For those who declined to buy, he would give them an attitude or give them hard time. Absolutely unacceptable. Never going back to that store again.

I came to the Newport, Tn Dollar Tree Store tonight at 8:45 pm this Saturday April 16, 2011. The door was locked and the cashiers were closing the registers. I trade at this store often and three other customers tried to get in. The sign poted closing at 9pm.I knew exactly what I wanted, but I could not get them to look at me. Question, why do we need stores like this in our town? May think twice abount future trading with you.

Dollar Tree manager has son at work

Today i was shopping at dollartree # 3483 in albemarle this morning And one of the managers had her son there working with them unloading the truck in the back i asked the cashier if they had some solor dancing flowers and she said no but they were unloading the truck and there might be some coming off the truck so i went to the back and opened up the door what i saw was surley not part of policy the kid was throughing boxes up on big pile of other boxes the stockroom was really full i saw the mother standing there she didnt say anything to him and the other lady that was beside her had this look of distuged on her face, like really he should even be back here.Clearly she felt the same way i did when i seen it. As i was shopping he stormed out the stockroom yelling at her very disrespectful as she told him about how he was getting in the way and needed to stay down on her end. I dont know if the store manger was there but i hope he would not let anything like this happen in his store. It goes aganist all policy and dollartree would be held liable if something were to happen. This kind of behavoir shoulden be tolorated in the work place what if i needed hepl with something and she could not help me because she had to tend to him sorry lady this is not a daycare but a facility that provides a service.

Well you have no right going back there yourself as others have stated. Perhaps the mother is a single parent who still needs to find out who the father of her son is? However if her son is going to be in the store she should at least make sure he stays in one spot and behave.

Dollar Tree misconduct on sales floor

On November 14, 2013 @ 7:30pm, my husband and I were in the frozen food section picking up some groceries when we witnessed the manager of the store Leah McKinley cursing and speaking disrespectfully to one of her staff. The young man took out his phone and she approached him saying " The texting is getting very irritating. Ive been here for twelve hours, stop already. What the f*** are you doing?!?" This was extremely inappropriate to conduct this conversation on the sales floor in front of customers and other staff members. This matter needs to be addressed immediately because business will be lost due to such a hostile display of disrespect to staff memberd front of customers.
Respectfully,

Dollar Tree management, unprofessional and rudeness

This is a formal complaint in regards to manager of store #4391. While shopping in your store today june 17, 2013, around 10:45 am with my three children and my granddaughter in the toy aisle, my six year old son picked up a rubber ball and bounced it twice and without any warning this rude voice came from the next aisle "no bouncing the ball in the store". I would have not minded the correction if it was posted or if she would have come over and addressed the situation in a professional manner. She could have easily said we would appreciate it if you did not bounce the ball in the store. But that was not done. The way she addressed my son made me become defensive as a father. So I went around the corner to see who said this and to no surprise I saw an afro-american lady with dreadlocks stocking shelves. So I addressed her in saying "you make up rules as you go along" due to none being posted in the store. She replied rudely about the chances of products being knocked off the shelf and glass in the store, this is understandable. If she wasn't so quick to be rude this situation would have been handled by me, his father in the proper manner. A few minutes later I asked for my daughter to call for her mother outside of the store to come in. This is when I heard this individual say in a low voice "you can get the hell out" I addressed her by asking did she just say you can get the hell out of the store and of course she said no. I heard exactly what she said and her unprofessional behavior will not be received well by me, this is why I am writing this complaint. I also made a statement earlier in this complaint not being surprised who it was. This lady is always rude when we come to the store she has no professionalism and her ipc skills are nonexisting. There was no greeting upon entering the store but a customer can be told rudely without any warning what the store rules are, then cursed and still are expected to spend their money in this store. I later found out while in checkout she was the store manager, unacceptable! I serve the public as well and if I addressed the public in such a manner, that would be my job. Let me also mention that this was not a heated exchange and to receive such language from the store manager is unacceptable. If this type of behavior and attitude is the standard of this store I will just shop elsewhere. I would greatly appreciate a response to this complaint. My email address is [protected]@verizon. Net. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Wow. The comments here are just as bad as the complaint. I just wanted to come on here and try to offer a little more food for thought. First, customers should be treated with respect. That should be a given. Unfortunately, real life often gets in the way of the "ideal, " and my guess is that is what happened here. These are not excuses, just possible reasons that I think people should be more aware of. The DT treats its employees about as bad as I've ever seen in retail despite what their website claims. Most positions are only part time at barely over minimum wage. Part time, of course, comes with no benefits whatsoever and no employee perks or discounts. While most retail stores give 15-minute breaks for every two hours of work or thereabouts, DT gives a single 10-minute break in a 5.5 hour shift. Even the temperature of their stores is set so high to save them money that employees come close to passing out from the heat in warmer climates. (Just visit one in the summertime and take a look at the soaking wet cashiers). Company policy does not allow them to have fluids or even gum to keep hydrated or to keep their mouths from drying out as a result of the fluid loss. If customers change their minds about wanting a product that has already been rung up, the employee gets in trouble for the voided item. If they work longer than they are supposed to to accomplish the impossible expectations, the employee gets written up. They basically treat their employees like trash. The one good thing about them is that they don't violate anti-discrimination laws by requiring their applicants to take "personality tests" like most retail stores do now. Obviously, this means people who do not have polished social skills or who have personality issues can still get a job there to take care of themselves without "leaching off the government." The truth is, nobody who could get a job elsewhere would work for this company for very long and I suspect the company knows it and uses it to their advantage. The point is that you're not going to get real customer-service oriented people who are "happy to help" in that sort of environment, and when people are barely surviving, they are not likely to be the most pleasant people in the world. You are worried about your son's feelings getting hurt for doing something he shouldn't have been doing in the first place. The employee is probably worried about how she's going to FEED her son when she gets off work. The smaller point is that those employees break their backs for that near-minimum wage. The company under-staffs their stores (more profit for the CEO) and they expect one cashier to do the job of about three. Whatever you mess up, she has to fix in the highly-restricted time period she's given. The more people act irresponsibly or inconsiderate, the harder it is for her to do her job well, and to her, this amounts to yet another person showing her how little she is valued. It is infuriating to finally get two minutes away from a register to fix up the store only to have a customer come through and, say, bounce a ball into a glass-filled shelf and knock it all over the place or break it or unload half their buggy in areas where the products don't belong or bring their items up to the register and THEN decide they don't want half of it. All of those types of things mean less time for her to get her actual daily tasks accomplished for the day. So while I agree that ideally, the customer should be treated with respect, it's also not a bad idea to take a moment and consider that before she is an employee, she is a human being who MAYBE, just MAYBE, has a few things going on in her own life that make it a little difficult to be the cheerful customer service rep you feel you deserve.

Sounds like you had a typical response from a KKK racist trailer trash maggot found in harve a degrace Maryland. Stupid doesn't even begin to describe your type. You should of been more concerned with the animalistic behavior of your demon spawn offspring. Or you could of postponed your purchase of cigarettes and Old Milwaukee beer and spent a Dollar for the little brat to bounce off your trailer. I doubt if Dollar General will minis anyone out of your mutant gene pool if you stop going there. Stick to Walmart with the rest of your type.

Dollar Tree manager's unprofessionalism, rudeness, and inappropriate behavior

This review is the the Dollar Tree located on Main Street in Florida, NY. The main problem with the store is the Manager Jessica. Today, while waiting online to buy a few items, Jessica started screaming and running after some young boy (maybe 14 years old). She kept screaming for this child to 'get out of her store immediately, get out now, leave my store now." I found it very strange how she was running after him and screaming very loudly. I figured he might have worked at the store because I have seen her yelling at other young male employees and belittling them in front of customers. She really needs to be fired, the entire mood of the store changes when she is there, you can actually feel the tension among these poor, young male employees. Someone at the corporate office needs to look into this woman's unprofessional outbursts and her screaming fits that always take place right in front of customers. I was not sure if she was going to physically assault this poor kid today, her behavior was off the charts. This poor boy went down another aisle to try and get away from her and headed right out of the store. I have never witnesses any other store manager behaving so inappropriately in front on multiple customers. Did she really need to try embaress some young child in front of the other employees and customers?

Please get the word out. Every ex dollar tree worker needs to file for unemployment, no matter the reason for leaving. If you get denied, appeal, appeal, appeal and appeal. It does not cost you anything. This corporation needs to be held accountable for how they treat their employees.
