rude cashier
I went to the dollar tree today to buy school supplies for my little sister. We went to checkout and my mother was in the other end to put the supplies in the bag. The cashier (Cynthia) scanned the supplies and threw them, I figured she would stop once she realized what she was doing because the noise of the supplies hitting the counter was very loud, but she did not stop. I was getting very frustrated because my mother was the one having to grab the supplies to put them in the bag therefore, I took it even more personal, things were being throw at my mother. I did not tell her anything because I did not want to cause a scene. I am very upset and feel that the cashier was being very rude. Then when she gave me my receipt I kindly said thank you, I looked at her and she did not smile nor respond back to me.
Also I don't know if this has anything to do with the rudeness, but I will be honest with you. Me and my sister and a few friends were caught shoplifting in the store a few weeks ago. It was not our fault, our friends pressured us into stealing. I wonder if that is why she was rude? I mean she was not there, but on TV when someone is caught stealing they have picture behind the counter saying that they were stealing and banned from the store. My sister and I were not banned from the store. They just told us that we cannot shop without adult supervision. My mom was there so she should not have been rude to us. My sister is only 8 and I am only 15 so we are minor and our pictures should not be there for everyone to see and if my friends did not tell us to shoplift we would not so it is their fault even though the officer and my parents said it was my fault it was my friends idea so it was their fault. They told me if I did not steal they would no longer be my friends.
management
The Dollar Tree in Orovlle Ca is under staffed, and incompetent . The current store manager is having one employee with 18 people in line, and no help or support of any kind. Knocking on the management door. asking for help with balloons, he opens and say he is busy, and began to close the door. I said I was encouraged to ask you for assistance, the only clerk has 18 people in her line. He says i cant help you, and closes the door. After waiting 5 mins, I knock again. He opens and says" ill be out in a min." its been 8 min. im still waiting. I ask the clerk to call him out. She does, he comes out yells at her with all of the people in line. I said, I asked her how I can get help with balloons. She called you for assistance, so what are you waiting for? I have a friend in the hospital, so now can you please get me some balloons. He stood there about ready to blow. Stared at me, never said a word for a moment. I said are you just going to stand there. He turned, and walked back toward the office. I said ok. Ill be notifying corp office. The people in line were agreeing, and said the same thing. The poor employee was working hard, as well as the fact there was NO air conditioning. IT is currently over 100 degrees in Oroville Calif. Not even legal. Melted candy etc... this was July 21 2018 Please follow up. I am a reasonable person, a teacher, and community member and leader. I was surprised to find myself on the other end of a non cooperative, rude, manager...please follow up.
poor customer service
7222 towne center drive west chester, ohio.
i placed an order online to be shipped to store. It said it had arrived 7/22/2018 8:43am. I went to the store- which is quite a distance away- to pick up my order on 7/23/2018 2:30pm.
I was greeted by a disgruntled employee, laura. Telling me i needed to come back in a couple of hours. I think i would be less upset if laura was pleasant, and maybe more helpful. Instead she was short and nasty as if it were my fault that the packaged wasn't ready and that i was bothering her. I asked another coworker for the manager and he was so nice and was not shocked by laura's nasty attitude. But the manager was busy and he was of no help. NO resolution besides to come back another time.
I guess you get what you pay for when it comes to customer service. most stores would have been happy to help and found some sort of resolution. maybe to just look for the package, maybe ship to my house. so instead i called and seek assistance on the order. i asked if i could ship to my house their response was "it will come damaged!" so why would i get it from the store packaged and not be damaged? just crazy so i decided it was best to cancel my order and will now take my business elsewhere.
i wish i would have known on july 9th! when i ordered that this was going to be such a disaster. i could have already found a replacement for my even that is in a week.
store manager (mark) and cashier
I am bus rider and travel with my backpack almost everywhere. I keep all of my valuables within this backpack (i.e. wallet, cell phone, laptop, keys...etc.). Today I was coming from the YMCA, and entered the Dollar Tree on Brighton Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15212 wearing my backpack. I selected a cart, and was on my way down the isle to get 4 three liter bottle of soda when the cashier informed me that I needed to leave my backpack at the front door where it could be stolen. Only 5 feet away from the soda I stated that I am just getting soda and I will be there in a minute. When I arrived at the cash register the cashier said she refused to serve me because I did not leave backpack at the front door where it could be stolen. I called for the store manager, and he also refused to serve me for the same rational. I did not make ignorant statements, use any expletives, or spoke/acted angrily in any way. I then proceeded to attempt to call Dollar Tree Corporate Customer Service, and was placed on hold for about 10 minutes when the Police arrived evidently at the Store Managers request. The Store Manager then requested that I not return store again. In which I reply I would happy to comply.
It is also important to note that I have been loyal Dollar Tree customer for more than two decades. I enjoy a lot of the products that are offered at the various stores in my area. I have never experienced this or any kind issue at any other store including Dollar Tree with regard to wearing my backpack on my back. It is safe to say that on average I enter at least 3 stores a day wearing my backpack, and have never been requested to remove it let alone been refused to be rung up. I will now seek my products elsewhere.
customer service
I arrived at the 14070 Halls Ferry location at 7:55. The doors were already locked. I asked the lady if I could come in to make a purchase and I was told that I came too close to closing time. Other customers and I stood by the door as she let other customers out of the store, another customer asked why were they closing before the time and she replied " go to another store" and walked away. I dont appreciate the rudeness that I experienced. I frequently visit dollar tree but after this experience I am considering other options
a complaint against a sales associate
On July 7/21/18, I was at store # 5946 at 2:42pm. I was checked out by a sales associate by the name of Diamond. She was very rude with a nasty attitude! I said to her that it looked like she wasn't having a good day, (because of her mean facial expression) she said to me, "why is it bothering you?!" Very unacceptable! She needs customer service training! I was very unhappy with my check out experience that day. Hopefully IF I shop at that store again, Diamond will have a more friendly attitude.
customer service
Went to the Dollar tree in need of diapers for my little baby girl as this is the closest store before having to travel to others. Arrived at about 9:50 or so pm thinking I could run in really quick and buy what I needed since it was only one thing. I got to the door and it was locked while another customer was inside completing their purchase. I asked one of the employees if I could run in really quick and some older gentleman and that employee began adamantly yelling that they're closed and they're not letting anyone in. Now I'm not sure if closing the store 10 mins before the posted closing time is a normal practice but I wanted to find out so I proceeded to ask for a corporate or managers number that I could have to try and ask about this particular incident. The employee proceeded to tell me "oh you can Google it" and walked off laughing. This type of behavior to a customer in a time of need is absolutely disgusting and I can't imagine this being in line with the company's core values.. Another employee by the name of Linda came to the door to make sure it was locked and I could only identify her name because the other employee in question didn't have their name badge on. This occured in Las Vegas Nevada at the Sahara and nellis location on the same night I'm making this complaint.. There is definitely a great deal of retraining needed for these employees in question. I'm appalled at the lack of compassion and the amount of embarrassment I felt in that situation and I hope no other customers receive that type of service in the future. The store manager definitely needs to be contacted to discuss this particular incident in question because that does not represent the level of great customer service the the Vegas community is known for. Thank you for your time
only two lines are available with a crowded store.
On July 20, 2018 at 6:06 pm I came to the location at Marlow Heights Shopping Center to pick up a few items. I was politely greeted at the door by the cashier named Adara who had the longest line with only one other cashier working. As I began my shopping I notice all of the floors was covered with dirt and crash, and boxes left in the middle of the al's the store is in very bad condition. Im really disappointed how the lines was so long because it was only to registers open.. something needs to be done really fast..
dollar tree customer service and store not clean
The last few times I have gone into the Wisconsin rapids dollar tree on 8th street it has been filthy! Unorganized and employees do not greet customers. I saw a bowl of cereal or oatmeal in the isle. Looks like someone placed in isle. The front entrance was really dirty. A lot of the shelves were empty! I like the items in dollar tree but how this store is run is not good. Please talk with the manager and resolve this. I manage a business and I would never present my business in this way.
nasty store
The store In Amory Ms. is beyond nasty. The store front is so nasty upon entrance. The floors are horrible tile and the carpet wet rug. There is so much stuff setting in the isles it's hard for 2 carts to pass each other. I don't uunderstand a manager letting this happen. The workers are very unfriendly.
This could be a nice store. There is always lots of shoppers and we all have the same issues.
Clean it up!
manager at dollar tree at the buckland hills plaza in manchester connecticut
While I was at the store, I went to use the restroom but it was out of service, so I walked back out and as I was walking back to the front, the manager comes up to me and tells me that the bathroom is out of service and I replied "I know, I didn't use it." and kept walking but he called me a "[censored]ing [censored]" and walked away. I made a complaint up front and the employee at the register told me "he treats everyone that way, even us."
store at 37th and thomas in phoenix az
I was in this store last night around 630pm and the store had no air conditioning. I asked a nice young lady working who was sweating what was going on, she said it had been out since Sunday. So you not only have customers walking into a sweltering hot store but you have employees working in inhumane conditions. In Phoenix it was 108 degrees yesterday and felt hotter in your store than outside. Its sad a big corporation can't rectify a problem or close until its fixed.
poor customer service
store# 838 Evening of 7/19/18
Rude, lazy, ignorant, hostile shift manager. Attitude while ringing up customers, preferred only to assist white customers. Not helpful at all, long lines, he dumped all the customers on one cashier, rolled eyes, yelled out expletives at me. I felt very uncomfortable in that Dollar Tree, as a loyal customer. The shift manager gentleman yelled out " Sir! You need to go in another line! I'm not helping you! We're short staffed! It was appauling.
employees refused to service a paying customer
I was shopping at the location in North Philadelphia on off of Broad Street 19140 zip code as I always do. July 19 at 7pm and as I proceed to check out, I get in line and the man behind the register asked me to go to the other register because he was waiting for someone. I asked him if he could just check me out as I only had 10 items and he stated no and for me to go to the other register. To avoid conflict I gathered my items off the the belt and proceed to go to the next register where a other person was a woman who was giving someone directions. as I started putting my items on the belt the lady stated for me to go to the other register because she was helping someone else. I then stated the guy just sent me over here, can someone please check me out and they both refused.
After working a long hard day who wants to go through this at the end of the night. I was tired and frustrated so I left the store without my items. I called back and spoke with the manager who was not present during the incident Ciara and she seemed very nonchalant about what happened as this may be a regular practice for them. I will never shop with Dollar Tree as long as the customer services is this bad.
I can't believe people would be so rude and simply ignore a paying customer. Please tell everyone you know that this is not acceptable and nor should we tolerate when we are spending our money to keep these business open.
Plus she rates pizza hut ...haha ..who does that..
Neiman Marcus has dreadful service...Stay stuck up for all anyone cares
That is why I shop at Neiman Marcus. Maybe you should not have such high expectations from a store with the word "dollar" in it.
customer service
I frequently visit (at least three to four times a week) and purchase items from the Dollar Tree stores located in Orangeburg, SC. Though the store on North Road is small, the employees are always cordial and helpful if one needs assistance. The John C Calhoun Drive store is larger but I have resolved never to go back there again because of the customer service. The workers there seem not to realize that if they are rude to customers, the store will suffer and their jobs will be at stake. I have yet, in my two years of frequenting the JC Calhoun Drive store, had a personable encounter with a cashier. They all seem to have attitudes and no personality with customers. If I speak with a "good morning" or "how are you?" I am greeted with looks that seem to state, "Why are you speaking to me?"
I visited the mentioned store last Wednesday and after speaking cordially to the cashier with a GOOD MORNING, the cashier stated, "Im running out of room." I asked her to repeat her statement in a firm but professional voice and she backed down. She must have realized how she sounded when she was asked to repeat. Even my granddaughter recognized her tone and stated that I should have left the store immediately without purchasing anything.
hiring/ hr support
i am trying to get a job in the state of TX where i live now. i used to live in VA when i was 19 years old and am now 32. I got a phone call from the manager today and said he was unable to go any further with my app due to the system saying i am unable to rehire. i have no idea why that is possible because i left with a 2 weeks notice when i was moving 6 hours away. he had given me the corporate number for me to get the rehire alert off there. it is not even possible for anyone to get in touch with HR even the manager has a hard time and doesnt know how to get in touch with them except for him to send an e-mail in hopes they get back to him or myself. this is absolutely ridiculous when you've already had an interview, drug screen, etc and passed all and have great refrences and customer service skills and great experience. it is sad that i can't get to a live HR rep for help and have to try any other option i can.
racial profiling, stereotypes, discrimination
I was in the Tallahassee Florida store #4128 on Village square blvd, the cashier was a Caucasian lady in her 30-40's name Nichole.
I frequent this store 3 times a week and the employees are generally pleasant but there's one cashier that has checked out before who may have issues with race. There has been times when she didn't greet me as I was in line, she has placed the money on the counter instead of in my hand, she has given me my change and didn't say thank you, and then there was yesterday's actions. I went to purchase items for myself and a coworker in which we paid separately. I asked to pay for the food(my items) separately and she asked me would I be paying with EBT aka a food stamp card. I was appalled, why would she ask me, an African American woman, am I paying with food stamps?. I was racially profiled, discriminated against, labelled, and any other predjudice placed on another human being as it was with Starbucks and the Waffle house, this incident was about the same. I spoke to the store manager(Earnest, I think is his name) about it and he made excuses and saw nothing wrong with her actions, apparently he does the same thing because he thought I was complaining about him, he then to said I could call the number on receipt to give creative criticism. This is not criticism, it is the use of racial undertones when addressing African Americans assuming we all are on public assistance.. that's all! No other employee has ever asked me that before, and I haven't heard them ask customers before me that was paying for food products only, the manager's excuse was they ask before about EBT because they can't change it when the transaction is over without a void, why not have some training on how to address customers and don't just assume all African American customers use food stamps.
dirty/unorganized store
On Saturday, July 18, 2018, my daughter and I entered your store at appox 7:15pm.. i must say it looked like a tornado had hone through it! the store was A DISASTER! Merchandise was strewn all over, even on the floor, unopened boxes of merchandise were stacked haphazardly throughout the store and the floors were filthy! I honestly felt like i would contact a disease just walking through.. it seemed as though only one person was working in the store that night, the girl on the register who i must say was VERY cordial and in tge end actually made our visit to the store a worthwhile and pleasant one
Poor customer service
Today 07/18/18 around 530-545pm I went to one of your store in Lakewood WA and was shopping when my 3 year old needed to use the restroom. When I got to the restroom, it had a notice stating I needed a key so I went to the front to ask for help. I met an associate. She didn't have a name badge but stated her name was. I asked for the key and she stated that they do not provide restrooms to customers because of vandalism and have nothing to offer. I then asked if she would take my daughter to the employee bathroom as she really needed to go and I would wait outside the door. She stated that they didn't have a bathroom. So I asked where the employees go and she told me they use the manager's bathroom. I proceeded to ask her if she could take my 3 year old to the bathroom and I will wait outside to which she stated no. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she stated she was the manager, I asked for her supervisor and stated that the store manager Amanda was not available. When I asked for her contact information, I was told "I am not gonna give you her personal cellphone" very rudely. I reminded her that I didn't ask for her personal info but phone number or email to contact her and she told me to just call the store. I asked for the store number and she stated that it does not work. Oh my goodness! Talk about horrible customer service. First of all, I don't know why a business that caters to customers does not offer a bathroom, secondly I asked if she would take my 3 year old to the bathroom and I didn't even need to go and my request was rejected and then it was downhill from there. Where is the courtesy, where is the concern for customers? I am talking a 3 year old...not an adult who can hold urine. The shear rudeness and dismissal...I was told to go to the next store and use their bathroom. I was Dollar tree's customer and I felt belittled and disrespected by your associate. Now I am sure she gave me a fake name but please address this issue. I am sure losing one customer is nothing to the DollarTree but your associates need some education on respect and customer service.
I am a Director of Nursing and I am appalled...I cannot even begin to imagine what would happen if we treated patients like that at my facility. If she were to come to my facility with an illness and be treated like nobody cared how would she feel. Going the extra mile is more important than following restrictions because of vandalism. How much property damage is a 3 year old going to do?
Lakewood Washington
It is sadly more then true. Hood-rat's are who work there. Disgustingly disrespectful people.

Everytime I go to the Dollar Tree in East Orange New Jersey On Central Avenue, the same cashier is so very nasty and rude and the management does nothing, I even complained to the corporate office about the customer service at this store ... and the obviously don’t care because the same thing keeps happening. Today I went In there (July 20, 2018 ... the cashier is arguing with a customer... when I get to the front of the line she begins another argument with me after refusing to check my items out. Huge argument and the people in line begin to become unruly because of this cashier ... calling for management to come over and of course no one comes, they don’t care what goes on in these stores ... very very disgusting organization. They need to be boycotted, stop going to these stores with these filthy, non-educated low life trash employees who don’t know the meaning of customer service.
