Very poor 🤒
We don't know much about how Dollar Tree handles customer complaints outside ComplaintsBoard, but what we see here, on our website, is quite disappointing. We think there might be reasons for the company's actions (like not knowing about the complaints), and we would be happy to see them among customer-focused businesses that easily solve customer problems. But until that happens, we ask reviewers to be cautious when dealing with Dollar Tree and using their services, and to carefully read the experiences of other customers on ComplaintsBoard, because who is warned is armed, you know! 💪

Dollar Tree retaliation treatment

I work for Dollar Tree #02297 since March of 2014 I was an assistant manager. My complaint is with
Angela Huerta - the Freight Manager.
Recently I learned she has been talking to other associates within establishment of my personal doings to bring disrespect upon me.
In November 2018
The recent changes of delivery on truck procedures, Angela staffed three associates, this including myself, to unload truck & upon her request, it was to be as followed -
An Associate is in truck to lay cases,
While Angela helps in truck to lay cases with that associate while the truck driver is on pavement to keep cases off grounds for me to catch all cases from truck to be placed On palate. I expressed this isn't fair nor productive and since I didn't comply with her plan Angela stepped out of truck to help me unload but aggressively. I am 43 yrs old and in course of my employment at dollar tree I'm constantly told ‘they' are gonna keep me young by working me.
Throughout the history of our working relationship I am spoke to in a rude tone sometimes over intercom during open hours while customers are shopping. I'm treated
poorly by the freight manager Angela when I do my best to assist productively, show up to work on time. I maintained for job security but I no longer could take it. Ive work her night shifts for years that she is suppose to work as freight manager
She says that's what im hired for. I feel I'm expected to work above and beyond every time I'm there, when I try to direct cashiers for teamwork she stated I'm [censored]ing all the time
I brought matters to the store manager and
Was Promised it would get resolved
If Angela continued she'd receive a write up but Store and Freight managers are best friends who constantly work as a team and also spent their time outside work almost daily up Until recently they had personal issues amongst them two.
In past months I brought some concerns to the district manager Robert. I asked him to keep it confidential but he did not. Next time after I was scheduled, the store manager mentioned to me Robert told her what I said... treatment by both managers escalated. I went through my insurance to cope with these issues from A Coach to help guide me who advised they couldn't talk about those matters no one took me serious for months, I was unable to reach out through the hotline, through HR, I couldn't believe after all the sweat and hard work I've put into Dollar Tree just to be considered unimportant. In November 2018 I put in for a demotion for other job opportunities causing hardship for me. Angela Huerta needs to be removed from management, from Dollar Tree.
She has been stealing hours from the company and she gets promoted to have her own store which is opening soon to San Angelo.
Angela bullies the Store manager and revises the schedule constantly so it works around her personal lives not what's best for the company.
I would consider staying on with Dollar Tree if Angela was no longer a part of the business.
Store manager asked me to stick with her til angela is gone and I could get promoted back as manager but after the fact of receiving a pay cut due to my demotion...?
Over the years Angela Huerta has been a horrible aspect to the company.

Dollar Tree horrible customer service

I placed an order online on 11/27/18 and because I work for a non profit I had to fax a tax exempt certificate which I did the very same day. My order in store delivery date unknown to me went from 12/9/18 to 12/17/18 and customer service blamed it on the tax exempt certificate. I informed them almost a month to deliver items was not acceptable and they basically said too bad. I called their corporate office and after 45 minutes of the phone ringing was told that they would have someone contact me. Here it is 2 days later and I have not heard anything. I have been on the phone for the last 50 minutes listening to it ring because they dont pick up. I will never order from them again

Dollar Tree business management

Hi I am a employee for dollar tree. I had a situation with a customer last week and a coworker went and told the manager "I think he said something racist against that lady", well she assumed I was racist because of the situation for some reason idk why, she asked where something was and I told her and she got nasty and attitude so I tossed a small thing of fake eyelashes in the return cart 2 feet behind me so I can go help her and she took it as me getting attitude and said "oh f you I dont need your attitude you must be racist", well needless to say racist I am not and my manager had suspended me from work until a investigation is done. I'm not sure what investigation can be done against hearsay from another employee. I have tried to contact my manager several times and everyone refuses to answer me. She also suspended me without even asking me what happened which I think is wrong. I have tried getting my managers bosses number and she refused to give it to me. The other complaint I have is I feel like she is singling me out because there has been cases where customers have made complaints about other employees and managers at my store and they had no disciplinary action against them. One complaint was for a manager using dirty language and swearing outloud in front of customers and there kids, no disciplinary action against her has ever been takin. There is another cashier at work that makes rude comments that are basically sexual harassment and all the managers just laugh it off and say "oh hes a harmless old man." There is numerous other things that happen at my work that are being hush hush about because it's against work policy. Especially being in a romantic relationship between 2 managers of the same store. My problem is all this is going on and nobody else gets any kind of disciplinary action against them, but a coworker assumes he hears me say something that wasn't said and they immediately suspended me

Dollar Tree enraged manager onto an employee

Manager George, at store #4920 in North Richland Hills, TX., very out of control and in rage, upset about the cashier Anna leaving her cashier place for probably what was less than 45 seconds to catch a customer who had left a sack of purchases. I actually thought it was a customer in rage who was not waited on or who might have been ignore by the cashier, as he was slamming things around( picking up the rolls of Christmas wrapping paper and slamming them back in the box and then started moving back and forth in the store out of control. I saw him head toward the office door and slammed his hand very hard to to make a point to push it open. I actually thought maybe he was drunk or high on drugs that he was acting so irrational and I thought he might harm a manager since he entered the manager's office. At the time I did not know it was the manager, so assuming it was a customer, I was considering calling 911 as I thought he may be dangerous and cause harm to an employee or other customers. I was in fear and asked a male employee to check me out as I feared going to the front with just having a female employee at the register and felt she was already traumatized. He said the person in rage was actually their manager and he said the manager got upset when she left her station when another customer was waiting in line. That customer waited less than a minute. I could not believe that a manager could be so hateful and unprofessional of correcting an employee in front of other customers like that. That female cashier did not deserve to be treated in such an unprofessional dictatorship way, causing fear for an employee and for customers. This manager also went on to carry on a conversation down an isle with another employee Matt. The manager went on and on very loudly and expressing being upset about another male employee who did not show up for work. I was standing right there. It did not matter to him. I finally said out loud " I have to get out of here." The manager then just turned away and went up front inside his office. How can Dollar General hire such a manager as George? By the way, before this incident, he had just been promoted 4 days before to manager from being a stock employee. I have just read other customer complaints about other managers at other Dollar Tree stores. I hope corporate is really investigating these manager complaints especially the manager I am reporting. No employee she have to be belittled and treated so inhumane and unkind like that!

Dollar Tree rude manager to cashier

I observed a cashier-offering to take an elder lady few packages to her car she the cashier did--an return quickly--the manager standing there scolded the cashier for not announcing she had to got to the bathroom after helping the customer--The cashier-clearly stated she had to use the "bathroom"- In front of myself an other customers (WHO BY THE WAY WERE STANDING IN A LONG lINE) this manager Victor-acted asif she did not OBSERVE the long line: Instead she felt the need to scold the cashier--very embarring I might add--The manger needed be concern about US customer standing in the long long with items to purchase--vs scolding a human being::

Victor needs to be reprimanded for her embarring actions--an the disregard of the Long Line: I feel this cashier deserves an apology-

Dollar Tree customer service

At our local Dollar Tree today in Delmar, DE. 19940. There was "1" cashier and about 10 people in line behind me. Two more employees came in from outside and totally ignored the long line. I asked the cashier if she could get someone to help and she told me NO, that they were on break. Very rude cashier and again did not get help as people were lining up!

Dollar Tree neglectful staff

I went to dollar tree woodstock va last night for 3 items. There was already a line when I got there. They had one cash register open. Which was not what was so bothersome. Rose, the store manager and another cashier literally stood at another register (that was not open) and talked to a customer for a few minutes.in the meantime the line got longer and longer. Rose, the store manager went to the back office, the other cashier stood there for another 3 or 4 minutes, then finally she ducked into the back office as well. If you have 3 employees and long lines open another register, common sense. This is not the first time I have experienced this at this store. It seems like management there do not care if there are long lines or not. People's time are valuable, we are not being paid to stand in line, like they're being paid to be there to let people wait. I have decided after last night, I will be taking my business to walmart you can get pretty much the same things there for the exact same price, and sometimes cheaper. Shame on you management

Dollar Tree management

I was in a Dollar Tree in Manahawkin Nj on line checking out. There were people in line behind me which made this situation not only embarrassing and humiliated as I am 63 years old and do not expect to be scolded like a child by a store manager in the way I was. I always shop in this store more so in the last couple of months as I give parties to a nursing home for me and I have been in the store at least three times a week. My total order was $38. and I only had a $100. bill on me. The cashier said she could not break it and I told her I would have to put everything back as I had nothing else on me. With that she turned to a lady who was doing some kind of paperwork or something at the register next to me, (not working the line). She asked her if she could break the $100 bill. The worman than slammed down whatever she had in her hand and came storming over to my register. As she did she turned to me in a very nasty tone and said "mam, next time you come into a Dollar store do not come in with a $100. bill" I was stunned and embarrassed and immediately responded to her by telling do not talk to me like that. She said something in response to me, and I said "I am the customer, you are the manager and you should be prepared" I asked her name and position and told her I would be making a call regarding her behavior. In the past week since this happened I have called many times to be put on hold for over 20 minutes and that disconnected by your headquarters. I am furious at the treatment I received from this woman (Her name was Susan) and would like to hear your response as to what will be done in regards to this situation. I have contacted by lawyer in regards to this as the discrimination and disrespect I received appalls me. I will not drop this complaint and would like to see some kind of action be taken against this woman. As I read other complaints here I see many are regarding employee's. Whoever runs the department should train these people in how to deal with customer, as without us there is no profits for your company. I am extremely upset over being treated like a child who was being scolded, especially if she thinks she can talk to me like that because I am a senior. I will wait to hear from you promptly as I have an appointment next week with my lawyer to pursue this. Also I put category Bad Business Partners cause there is no promptly for my complaint

Common sense should tell you not to go in a store like this with a $100 bill. Should've got it changed before shopping there.

Dollar Tree the entire store and stocked products

i reside in Merritt Island, Florida. I cannot provide a date of incident as it has become the normal to be out of most products, unstocked shelves and 3 coolers that have been out of order for months now. I understand every dollar tree carries different products as well but I feel that this Merritt Island location is just an after thought... but at the same time there is always a tremendous line with 1 or 2 cashiers at most. Problem is also, the cashiers cannot be stocking, when the product is not there! Are you closing this location? I spoke with an employee last week personally, who stated she was just "over" the store. Not because of your employees, because most of them have been there for years! I at this point do not know why! They are run down... and underpaid to deal with all of the complaints because your company does not care about the store itself... It has really become quite pathetic and sad and I would completely understand if you closed your doors tomorrow... I know it's a store with everything for a dollar, but it is not even worth walking into anymore... Seriously...

Dollar Tree unmannered service by cashier named ladonna at dollar tree san antonio tx babcock location

I was about to check out at the register and I had just placed some money on the counter. I wasn't done providing the change and the cashier named LaDonna, had already grabbed my money and was trying to hand me change. When I had told her I wasn't done giving her the change and did not even know what I placed on the counter, she closed her register drawer and obnoxiously said to me "I'm sorry I already closed my register". I asked for the manager which her name was Tina and she was standing right next to her. LaDonna continued to yell at me and was telling me to get my bags and go. This whole time Tina did nothing to remedy the situation nor did she try to apologize for her employees behavior. She may have been intimidated by LaDonna's obnoxious and angry loud voice. I've never been treated with such disrespect from the stores employees. That was quite disturbing to say the least. I think a company's customer service is just as important as the products they sell. I will never go back to that store again nor will I refer anyone there.

The cashier didn't do anything wrong. She took your money, handed you your change. Transaction over. Instead you wanted to hold up her line digging out your change and cause a scene when you didn't get your way. I'm sure they'll be happy if you never go back there again.

Dollar Tree service

I was in line a manager ( jaren I believe was her name) let someone go that was 3 people behind me & and there were 3 people in front of me. She knew this person and called her by name (Wendy) to get in the new line. The 2 people behind me, walked put and the second woman in front of me had said she was in line for 15 minutes.
This is absolutely uncalled for, your employee should never had told her friend she could go before 7 people who were in line first.
Not happy about this.

Dollar Tree one of the managers in this store is constantly arguing with the customers.

There is a Manager in this store that is constantly arguing with the customers. Today while I was shopping inside the store. There was only one cashier that was trying to service a line of customers and the line was going way back to the end of the store. When I saw another worker there breaking down boxes myself and another customer asked her (Cythia) if she would open up another register and she yelled at us and said that she was busy breaking down boxes and no she would not be open up another line. She was actually yelling and was very rude. # different people was complaining about her attitude and the long line. Cythia the manager said that she didn't care who was complaining and that she had other things better to do then to open up another register. She also was arguing with another customer about why she didn't have to open up another line. There was another women in the store that stated that this lady was arguing with her yesterday for the same reason. this manager is very unprofessional and does not has customer skills or a good attitude with other. One lady told her that she is in the wrong neighborhood to have such a [censored]ty attitude.,. This is not what Dollar Tree's customer service should represent. This lady (Cynthia needs some type of class on customer service. When I told her that I was going to call the corporate office with concerns about her attitude and the way that she was talking to the customers she stated that "she didn't care". so apparently she doesn't really care about her job. I vowed that I would contact your company concerning this incident and this is why I am contacting you in regards to this matter. You may feel free to contact me for further information, My name is Selena Green [protected]

I spent $30.48 at store 2941 in Lakewood Wa. Two of the things I bought were Christmas mugs for my grandchildren. The mugs came in boxes. The same day I made hot chocolate for the kids. One cup had a hair line crack that I didn't see. It leaked of course. The next day I took the cup back for an exchange, forgetting my receipt. The cashier told me no exchange without a receipt. I ask to speak to a supt.. When she arrived she came with an attitude. No, hi what can I help you with. No, sorry that's our policy, just no exchange without a receipt. She then turned her back on me and spoke to the cashier about another matter. I didn't want my money back. Just another cup. I tried calling customer service, but after being on hold for 20 minutes hung up. I expect better service from such a large company. This happened 12/04/18.

Dollar Tree employee attitude lack of good customer service

I was at your store in Rockaway NJ last night to pick up an online order. I was greeted with a "I don't know how to do this" to the employee (Rick) handing it to another employee who rolled her eyes and proceeded to stop paying attention to the customer that was ringing out in front of her and said "another friggin' online order" huffed and puffed and reluctantly went to get my order. no eye contact no, "how can I help", I asked her if she was going to take out the store fixtures out of the cart and she said No, you're bringing it back. She yelled in the store looking for Rick only to ask me where did he go. Than watched me walk out struggling trying to get the door open because my boxes were heavy and I couldn't hold the door so a customer came and held it for me. I will never shop there again, it was messy, staff didn't want to be there, and they were rude. If you're serious about your brand being represented with good customer service and clean, you better send someone from corporate to straighten them out.
