Dollar Rent A Car paid one day extra

Hi,
I returned my car on October 11th at 12:22, the person who checked the car did not talk to us even though I told him that we had two vouchers and I would like him to check.
Therefore I saw later at the airport that I was charged on an extra day. We were not late, attached the voucher that said we can return the car until 12:38.
After waiting so long for a car we ordered in advance and wasn’t in the place, you need to think how you give us back those 2 hours of waiting instead of traveling...

Dollar Rent A Car charged different than agreed

At pickup location in San Diego (Sep 29th) I told them that I will drop the car in Los Angeles and the guy at the office told me that this is not a problem and did not mention anything about extra charges.
When I returned the car the next day (Sep 30th) in Los Angeles they charged additional 250$ + tax because I was not supposed to return it in Los Angeles...
Even talking to the manager at this rental station did not help! The manager would rather do smaltalk with some workers then helping me.

Is there a e-mail address of dollar rent a car where I can send my complaints to? I did not find anything online and the online form did not work for me... maybe couse I´m not from the US.

Dollar Rent A Car Orlando International Airport

I had declined insurance for my rent a car when I first picked it up. When I returned the vehicle they told me what my total was with insurance. I replied “I never agreed to insurance.” They suggested to speak to a manager. Which I did. His name is Rusty and he was absolutely no help. He said because it’s “highlighted” I must’ve agreed to it. I explained that I NEVER take out insurance when I rent a car and if he could check in the system he would see that several months ago I declined insurance with Dollar when I rented with them last. He refused to look in the system and kept referring to the item being “highlighted” as if this should count for something. I explained the worker messed up the first ticket she drew up for me and ripped it up and was consumed doing several things. He again said “it’s highlighted so you must’ve known.” I requested the amount be taken off my bill and he refused stating he will give me a voucher. I told him that I don’t want a voucher I want my money back. Again he declined. I told him I will dispute the charge with my credit card, file a complaint with corporate and blast Thai behavior on social media as I could not believe the way I was being treated. I just wanted what was owed to me. He told me to “go ahead.”

Dollar Rent A Car rental car scam

Car was rented on 9/14/17 to 9/18/17 4pm return time. Unfortunately while on the trip my friend that accompanied me had a death in her family. So I rescheduled our flight which was originally scheduled to depart on the 18th at 6Pm and we left on the 18th at 5:47am instead. Upon early arrival there was no one at the counter for Dollar or Thrifty so I left the keys on the desk. After our flight landed in Atlanta I called the corporate office and made them aware of my flight changes and the location of the car within the rental cars area. And also where the keys were located on the desk of Dollar/ Thrifty. I was told they would email the location and get everything handled. Fast forward to the next morning I receive and email alert from my credit card company that Dollar has charged an additional amount to my card. On top of the $350 that was initially held they charged me an additional $87. When the reservation was initially made I was quoted $194.00. The new invoice states $394.68 for a car that was returned exactly 12 hours before it was due back. Also my agreement stated the car was full of gas which was a lie. I had to call corporate and make them aware that the car only had a little above a half a tank of gas when i picked it up. These people are Full of It. Don't Trust them Don't use them if you have other options. I am curious to know the explanation to why my return date shows 9/19/17 when they were made aware of the return date of 9/18/17 at 4am? I want to know why they tried to get me to return the car full of gas when it wasn't checked out with a full tank?

Dollar Rent A Car mandatory insurance!

FRAUD ALERT! Horrible ! Stay away ! I got black mailed to sign for what the customer service person called "Mandatory insurance" a total of $458 when the car it's self cost me only $142.08 ! we were arguing for a while I was telling him I do not want insurance because I have insurance on my car In NJ that covers a rental car ! BUT HE SAID IT WAS MANDATORY BY THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA ! WOW THAT GUY BLACK MAILED ME AND DID COMMIT FRAUD! BETTER YET! I'VE BEEN CALLING FOR A MANAGER MORE THAN THREE DAYS & THEY KEEP ROUTING ME FROM ONE PERSON TO ANOTHER JUST TO GET RID OF ME!

I WILL CALL INSURANCE COMMISSIONER AND FILE A COMPLAINT

Dollar Rent A Car rental car, paid in full and was not allowed to pick up

on July 25, 2017 I rented a car from Dollar.com paid in full using my Visa bank card. The confirmation #H3730504099 and voucher #US761901200. I arrived to pick up my rental, I was told by the customer employee (Scott) that they could not accept my Visa bank card.I asked for a manager and was promptly dismissed by him (Chris) Stating I could call his supervisor Adam Oetting which I did and received no answer and no a to leave ability to leave a message. You accepted my Visa bank and were paid in full on 07/25/2017 for the rental. I showed up on time to pick up car on 07/31/2017 which I did not get. You accepted my Visa card at time of my reservation, were paid in full 6 days prior to my pick-up date and did not get the car. Please issue a refund in full ASAP.

Dollar Rent A Car unethical / business practices

Dollar Rental Car Company //Hertz Corp. Charge excessive administrative fees for toll violations in The State of Florida . In Florida toll violations can occur at unmanned toll locations . Hertz / Dollar rental company are running this scam on their customers as they pay these tolls and then add significant higher fees billed to their customers credit cards.

I too was ripped off by Dollar paying .77 cents for an unmanned tool that did not accept cash or card and no warning to this as we entered the roadway. Dollar charged $15 fee to pay .77 cents (one exit) by the Tampa airport...How crappy is this, the state of Florida allows those without a Pass to be screwed...Gary Foerster, Long Island, New York

Dollar Rent A Car car hire boston logan airport

My name is mr paul Parkinson, I hire a car from Boston airport on June 2nd until 12th June, I have had money taken off my credit card for a toll charge, I have had no e-mail or other kind of notification about this, when I picked the car up, one the car was smaller than paid for, but accepted it, two it had a easytoll mount on windscreen, nowhere in the process of picking up this car, did anybody mention, that the easytoll was not activated, so for you not offering or mentioning the easytoll, instead of paying $4 I have paid $94 for your incompetence, I know nothing will be do about it, but will not be booking dollar again when next in Boston, my review will be poor and zero.

Dollar Rent A Car roadside

I rented a car Friday night returning it Sunday. My renter experience was the worst-ever the car rented was unsafe to drive the car tires were moving back and forth I called roadside assistance they told me to just wait so I drove to a friend's house which was exactly three miles from the rental place I parked there waited all night they never showed up the next day my friend took me home and my plans were ruined I called Saturday they didn't pick it up Sunday they asked me for me to go drive it back so I had had to take my car to my friend's place then go from there and then come back on a bus and get charged for a car that I only put 7 miles total for 2-day rental. On top of this when I returned car the guy said the car should of never been rented it was due for service. This is not fair I got charge for something that I never was able to.use plus my plans where screwed lost my cash on hotel that I had paid for because the rental cat was not drivable to go and never even offered to give me free rental so I could reschedule everything.

Dollar Rent A Car toll charges/admin fees

Very upset I get a bill for $2 Toll and on top of that $60 for administration fees ($62 total). That is Highway Robbery! I rented a car in HRL and never was I given any options for TOLLs nor was I ever told about any surplus charges on top of Tolls. I had rented a midsize car and when I walked out to get into it, it was a very small car and noticed all the tires looked bald. I get another vehicle but had to pay more because it was an SUV. So again I returned it and got into a bigger car which I thought was what I booked to begin with. I drive to S. Padre Island on the toll, thinking there would be a Toll attendant so I can pay the $2, but instead it says I will be mailed a bill. I understood that, but not to get a bill with outrageous Admin fees. I'm very upset and will NEVER use Dollar again. I want this taken care of ASAP and only be charged the $2 Toll charges. Again this is HIGHWAY ROBBERY!

Dollar Rent A Car van rental reservations

We confirmed a van to rent at the Melbourne, Fl airport for pick up July 15, 2017, when we arrive we were told no vans were available and we were the 9th person that morning that had reservations and no vehicles were available. Poor poor service from Dollar and the Melbourne Airport. I will never use Dollar Car Rental, they do not even notify their customers of any problems, very discourteous.

Dollar Rent A Car we are being charged $451.45 for two toll charges

Rental start 05.02.17
Return 31.05.17
Rental Agreement Number [protected].
When we were at the desk the girl asked us if we needed PlatePass, we asked what that was and she explained and asked us where we were going, when we said CT, NH, VT and Maine she said it would be cheaper to pay the tolls or fines, so we declined the PlatePass option.
When we collected the car we told them that we did not need the PlatePass and were told that it was not working.
We went over the Kingston bridge and paid the $1.50 toll.
We did not know about the Ted Williams Tunnel that we went through. Fair enough we are prepared to pay the fine for that but Dollar are going to charge us the full 30 day rental for PlatePass $451.45.
Dollar state that if you do not have PlatePass you will have to pay an admin fee of $15 per toll plus the fine.
Why are we being charged $451.45.

Dollar Rent A Car hidden charges that were not explained

Reference number - [protected]

Following on from an email from my colleague Mr Lee Unsworth, I Neil Gittins ( additional named drive of the vehicle attached to the number above) would like to make a complaint regarding the additional charges that have been attached to the reference number above. I feel that we have been misled by your company and would request that you look in to the conduct of your employees on site at the LAX department. At no point did the staff member explain the additional charges to myself or Mr Unsworth and I feel deeply disappointed that we have now been charged £122 for something we never asked for.

Additionally, I would like to add that the condition of the car was pointed out to you via an email from Mr Unsworth where he stated that the car was in a terrible condition. We advised one of your ground staff of this and his response was that "We only need to worry about significant damage when we returned car and not to worry about the condition." I'm sure this is not the standard of customer service you wish to portray?

I'm sure that you as a company pride yourself on customer service as stated on your website, however Mr Unsworth and I understand at times standards can slip and I can assure you that this is one of those times.

I trust you will treat this correspondence with the due care it deserves and respond accordingly with a full refund of the stated amount above.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you need any additional information.

Dollar Rent A Car dollar rental car bait and switch

I have never used dollar before and now I never will again. Now I know why you won't allow a prepaid car online- because you advertise the best rates, customers book with you, only to show up and be charged 4 times as much. This should be illegal and is certainly unethical. I could have booked through 3 other rental companies for 1/4 of the price that I ended up being charged by dollar. $650 for 8 day rental! The counter clerk lied to my daughter telling her she had to buy damage waiver- we are fully insured through liberty mutual. All other companies are up front and give you all of the taxes and fees information. Dollar lies and makes you think they are cheaper when they are way way more expensive

Dollar Rent A Car unknown rental charges

I was unknowingly charged for daily insurance and road side assistance totaling almost $200. When I called to dispute the charges, I was told that because I already drove the car off the lot that it was my problem now.
The respresenative at the desk NEVER asked for any information other than my name and the date the car was going to be returned.
Needless to say I will never rent from them again!

Dollar Rent A Car car rental company

I rented through rentalcars.com. This is the first time a rented from dollar rental and absolutely the last. First... I had no idea it was not located directly at the airport terminal like the other companies. This was located off site behind a correctional facility. The place itself looked like a dump with numerous employees just sitting around.

I received the car, not quite what I expected but pretty new with 5000 miles on it. It had numerous patches, marks and scratches on the vehicle. I did have an employee file a report so I would not be charged later. I still accepted the car even though it should never have been rented in the condition it was in.

Upon my return, someone said the car smelled like cigarette smoke. We did not smoke in the car. We did smoke outside the car and the windows were down. I have an extremely sensitive nose. The car did not have any aroma. One employee told me to just keep the car longer and have it professionally cleaned. I had a plane to catch. This was not an option and there was no reason for it anyway.

I told them I would clean the car myself. They all stood there and watched me take of the floor matts and beat them as well as take off my sweatshirt to wipe down the entire interior. I then sprayed the car with a small can of lysol that I travel with.

I literally begged the manager not to charge me $350 for a cleaning fee as it was unnecessary and unfair. He went to check on the car and then told me it smelled like alcohol (From the lysol) and he would now have to have the car completely detailed and shampooed to remove the odor. Lysol, being alcohol based, evaporates. All the other car companies use similar products like febreeze. Plus... All the other car companies care for their own cars. They don't send them out unless there is severe damage.

To make matters worse... The manager started yelling at me in front of the employees and other customers blaming me for the extent of the damage done to the car. This was humiliating.

I have traveled around the world and never had such an experience like this. Your manager need some very serious training in people skills and proper management. I would also like to add they need help with math. My rental was supposed to be a total of $122. The numbers on the bill are completely different... Even with the ridiculous additional charge. This location is making things up as they go along.

I do have photos of the car and the condition it was returned. I am asking you to reconsider the $350 cleaning charge as the car did not require it. I would also like to see a verifiable bill for the cleaning they said they will be sending the car out for. I'm certain it doesn't exist.

Dollar Rent A Car deceptive charges

Charged twice for initial reservation and new reservation after verifying we are only being charge with new the reservation. No transparency. When we picked up rental car with Dollar at the Kahului, HI airport we requested an upgrade and asked how much it will be. We were told that we would be given a discount if we wanted an upgrade that was not much higher than our initial reservation. We agreed to the upgrade knowing that the initial reservation was canceled. When we returned the car on 3/30/2017 we were given a receipt of $150.64. After we checked out credit charges, CARHIRE charged us $139.62 and we had no idea who this entity was. Internet searched showed that Dollar and Hertz were the same company so I called Hertz. Danny, was the customer service rep. who verified that the charges were correct but the desk sales person should have clarified it was an "additional" to the initial charge; but he would be happy to discount half the charges. I declined due to the transparency were lacking and that we would like to receive full refund.

Dollar Rent A Car renting a car at the salt lake airport

I have rented cars many times but the treatment that the service counter was giving people at 2:00 p.m. on May 21, 2017 was truly awful. It is Sunday. Had to go to the airport to rent a car for Sunday and Monday. I had my insurance information but not the actual policy. They wanted to make sure that we had full coverage. Being Sunday I tried to call the company but they were not available. Never been asked for the full policy before. We walked away without the rental car.
There was a couple there from China trying to get a car. Had credit cards but were hassled because they didn't have a U.S. address. Are all international clients treated this way?
It is obvious that you must have too much business to treat customers. well. I will not use Dollar Rent a car again.

Dollar Rent A Car overcharged

I placed my order for a vehicle online. Received a confirmation number from both Dollar and AAA for the charges. The bill was almost double. I disputed it with my credit card company who, even with documentation, sided with Dollar. Remember this, when you prepay for fuel it is based on returning the vehicle empty and there is no adjustment. So return it on fumes. Customer service is terrible. I will never rent from them again, and most likely any other, as the internet is a scam luring you in with a price that is not real. In the old days it was called bait and switch.

Dollar Rent A Car service on recent trip and my invoice

booked a car Online & after going over receipts I noticed the rental was 3X more than quote I booked online. The service was terrible at airport, first the clerk was difficult to understand and I was billed for insurance After telling them paying w/MC & had Ins. Then we waited 45 min for the car to find out it was sitting there the whole time we just weren't told by the 2 people in the office talking and looking at there phones. I was Told the overage was a mandatory charge & I would be reimbursed after the car was returned. This was the reference number from my online booking US774889490 RR [protected] was on the receipt
