Dollar General candy

the label on the shelf said buy one get 50% off the other, so I brought 4 to the register, the cashier said he had to check with Management, and they said its expired and they wont honor it.

I didn't see any dates saying it was expired and it was stuck to the shelf, so I would of had to have glasses and a magnifier to know it was expired.

Anyway I didn't buy all four. But I believe that should not be tolerated by the customer, especially on how much I spend there.

I don't know what your manager told you but the reality is that there is no set schedules and no promised days off in retail. If your manager does try to work with you on that then kudos to her.

Dollar General merkel tx store manager angela

I just feel like this store manager is unfair to her employees. Every time I go to this store she's either gone or outside smoking. Her employees won't talk to Asa due to in the past an employee tried to talk to Albert and he told Angela the employees name and she then retaliated by cutting hours. My spouse is one of her employees and I tell her that they need to contact Asa and tell him everything but they're all too scared that she will cut their hours and treat them worse. I have also been told that she will pay with a check but not put it in the deposit until she has that money in her account. She will damage product just so she can pay half price for it. Every Saturday she has to work she will make an excuse as to why she can't come in and will leave that LSA by themselves. When they have items that are pennied she will say she's taking them to donate them and will take them home instead. I'm hoping that someone could investigate these situations and get them resolved. I just feel like if my spouse has to be at work to actually get paid then Angela should have to work her 40 hours to get her pay which she may work half of those hours each week. If this doesn't put up a red flag on her then I guess my next solution is to contact the labor board and see if they can help. Thank you for your time! Please look into this and don't just ignore it! My spouse loves her job but is stressed to the max working under Angela.

Dollar General employee attitude and behaviour

On 10/21/2018 I went to the Dollar General located on Chestnut Street in Clarksburg, WV and after this visit made up my mind never to go into this store again (even though I live within 1/2 of a mile from here). One of your employees (Kaitlyn or Caitlyn, not sure of the spelling) was being very rude to a customer as I entered (I did nothing). Upon my check out I was given the same type of attitude and told as an employee she knew the rules and maybe I should go read the flyer the "right way". The reason for her attitude being that I purchased some spring and summer items which were on sale for 70% off - then you were to take another 50% off (this was the last date to do this) and she was only giving 50% off in total. I pointed this out again after she rang me out and showed her on my receipt that she had over rang me by $23.00 - she denied it and told me to come back and talk to a manager (who was not in the store at the time). I have waited a week to complain and decided that the young lady needs to be held responsible for her lack of respect towards customers and maybe if a manager would stay in the store, she would not act this way towards customers. After I was told there was not a manager in the store I went looking and there was another employee (a man) and he was very courteous and made the comment that many customers had mentioned her attitude, but he could not do anything. This woman was ringing another customer out when I heard her tell another customer (I'm sick of those customers that anyone can tell where they come from, coming in here trying to get something for nothing). First of all I come into this store on an average 3 times a week (not just for sales) second of all I don't know where she thinks I come from, I live within 1/5 mile from this store and for those that do not - very nasty comment! Third I am a therapist, so what kind of people is she referring to? career minded or the color of people's skin? I was not going to write to corporate, but if I allow this type of behavior to continue it would only allow this employee Kaitlyn/Caitlyn to continue to get by with this and make others who come into contact with her feel horrible. I hope your company will do something about this. If you would like to contact me my address is -251 Magnolia Ave, Clarksburg WV 26301. My phone number is [protected] and my email is [protected]@yahoo.com . Thank you Tonie Teague

I purchased a $150.00 vanilla gift card for my son's birthday. I paid with cash. When he went to activate the card, the phone hung up. I need a copy of my receipt to send to the company to use my card. I purchased it at the Carolina Rd. Store in Suffolk Va. On October 2nd 2017. Unfortunately I can not find the original and I need Dollar General to give me a duplicate via email or mail. Please help

Go to any dollar general store and they will give you the number to customer service which can look up your transaction and go from there. Dollar general dose not and cannot give out duplicate receipts.

Dollar General store rules

I live in Konawa, Oklahoma. Dollar General is the only place to shop without driving. I went in there today and there was people vaping in the store. I don't think it's right for the people who don't smoke. I have a heart condition and that is not good for me to be around. In a place of business that should not be done. I do think something should be done about this before it gets to where I will go to different towns. And this store will lose business. Thank you

There is not a law against vaping. With the exception of on school property. Some city may forbid it but there is not state ban. So they are not breaking the law, you may want to take it to your city council.

Dollar General clarkton assistant amber

This girl is rude not just once in awhile but every time you go in and she is there. She is always on her phone and gets a attitude if you ask for help. Today she has her daughter at work with her. You can see the little girl in the picture she is working on the tubes that is down there hall way. This is not the first time she has had a attitude with me I've blowed it of in the past because I know people have bad days but this amber has a bad day every day. I will take my business elsewhere. What kind of business are you'll running with a child of this age in there working. Let her get hurt and see what happens.

Dollar General service

I am very grateful for the Dollar General conviently located around the corner from my home and thus being said I am always running to the store for last minute items as well as regular food/non food items on a weekly basis and and most weeks this turns into a daily basis. I have always been very impressed with all prices listed by the Dollar General. However on this Friday night my husband and I had family in from out of town and needed soft drinks. I arrived at the store at 945 pm and store was closed and one of store employees motioned through the glass door she had already closed and nothing to do...I was extremely disappointed with her attitude and if a store hours closes at 10 then please close at 10. Because of the store being closed I had to then drive 10 miles to Walmart and not happy having to shop for soft drinks at Walmart on a Friday night. This experience has made me rethink my Dollar General shopping and may not return to this location if any location at all...very dissatisfied loyal customer

Maybe your time was wrong. Maybe there's was.
How does this turn into such a fiasco? Your family from out of town didn't arrive at 9:45 pm out of the blue. You knew they were coming ahead of time but you waited until the last minute to run to the store. So now its the employees fault that you had to go to Walmart on a Friday night.

Dollar General sale signs up all over the aisle for a sale that was over 5 days ago.

I was shopping at the Dodge City Dollar General just now, October 26th, 2018. The attached photos show the sign that were all down the aisle about a sale buy one get one free on Fall Harvest decor. I spent about 20 minutes picking out items for our senior citizens bingo game where I work, when I happened to notice on the sign that the Home Harvest Sale was only for the 19th and 21st. I went to the front of the store and asked the cashier why the signs were still up when the sale had ended 5 days ago. Her response was "well they have been short-handed lately." I think it is totally irresponsible of a store to have the Sale signs up all down an aisle, when the sale has ended 5 days before. I know that Dollar General would not condone that. I wanted to let your corporate office know what is going on. I was going to purchase quite a bit for our Senior Citizen Bingo games at the Senior Center where I am manager, but I wasted my time gathering up the items. We have little funds to buy prizes with so I have to purchase them when there is a sale.

Dollar General manager, and store.

The dollar store in Greenville, Missouri is absolutely terrible. I applied 3 months ago for an assistant managers position and they NEVER returned my calls. I actually had to go to the store and ask for the manager in order to see if she even reviewed my application. I spoke with one of the assistant managers and she told me that the manager told her that "Nobody is putting in applications." (Which is a lie) The assistant manager told me that she would speak with the manager about my application because I was MORE than qualified for a simple sales associate position, due to being an assistant manager at another dollar general location. Greenville is in dyer need of employees, the manager has had her assistant manager working 23 days straight. Not to mention the manager is pregnant and is due October 31. So not hiring any employees in less than a week before your due to go on maternity leave? I'm not understanding what the issue is that the manager has against me. I finally received an interview on a Monday morning (she interviewed me in the middle of the store NOT in her office) and I told her that my availability was open and that I would be able to work anytime. She proceeded to tell me at the end of the interview that she would contact me later on that week. For what? She didn't even tell me if I got the position or not. I've NEVER been to an interview where the manager didn't let me know if I got the position or not before leaving the interview. It was the oddest thing. Here it is Friday (yes I've been waiting a full week) and I still yet to hear anything from this so called manager. Not only is the manager unfit to be a manager, but the store itself is a MESS. The receiving room is packed full of merchandise that has yet to be put on the sales floor, the doors are NEVER opened at 8:00 a.m., the parking lot looks like a dump, and it is impossible to get any customer service. I've even tried calling the store to see if I could speak with the manager and NOBODY answers. I then called another local dollar store in Ellsinore Missouri and asked the manager there if she knew if the Greenville Missouri dollar store was closed for some odd reason because I couldn't get anyone to answer my calls. She told me that no they shouldn't be closed because they only close for Christmas and that was super odd of them not answering their phones. I decided to drive over to Greenville Missouri dollar store (I live 15 miles away) and ask one of the sales associates if their phone works. She proceeded to tell me that "No our phones have never worked" so I explained to her that I've been trying to call all morning and she says "Well we can't call out, and we very seldom receive calls." She was even wondering why the manager couldn't fix the phones or why corporate doesn't do something about it. ABSOLUTELY the saddest Dollar General I've ever came in contact with, and I have accepted another position elsewhere. I want no part of that chaos. They have lost my business for good.

Dollar General the store in kalona, ia is a mess all the time

The store constantly has huge carts in the aisles making it almost impossible and frustrating when there is no room especially when other people in the store. Really thinking about not shopping there anymore. Everything is cluttered or not stocked, there is also carts of broke down cardboard full to the top just sitting in the aisles. Am I suppose to move these carts myself to get what need? I have a small child and so do other people who go to the store, what if they pulled on these carts or tried to pull something off it and got hurt. It just seems like this store is always a mess.

Dollar General the store here in quinton oklahoma is never stocked.

I know for a fact there is certain items that have not been stocked in three months. Quinton Okla is a small town there is one dollar general here and that pretty much it. Therefore when you go into this store and they are out of items on a pretty steady basis it gets aggravating. This store is out of milk, bread, and most every day essentials on a regular basis. This store has had no clover valley pretzels in stock for weeks now I know for a fact because they are one of my favorite snacks also no Jolly Rancher hard candy in four months another one of my favorites. Not only is this store never stocked it looks like a tornado ran through the isle's. Its just a matter of time before someone gets injured in this store trying to move around all the clutter. The items they put outside just sits there in the rain also. And for the record I have never been employed by Dollar General. I am not a disgruntled employee. I am just a guy trying to get a damn Jolly Rancher!

Bread and milk are vendor items employees do not stock them. The rest is probably because they are not stocked on the shelf. The system orders them as they sell so if not stocked the don't sell and cant get ordered. Your jolly ranchers are four months old sitting in the backroom!

Dollar General store manager

I went into the store at 10: 40pm tonight and the store closes at 11 the manager of the store, Michael, was sitting in the office as always. The store was a mess. It was not recovered at all. Two minutes before 11:00 pm I was rushed out of the store because the store manager was saying to me that I needed to hurry because he didn't care he was shutting the store down regardless. And kept telling me to come on and hurry up. When I was checking out the safe went off to get the money out and he blurted out saying "well I can't open it because of the customers in here!" Trying to rush me even more. Bottom line is Michael is rude to customers and never has his job done as a manager recovering the store or keeping the shelves properly stocked. I am an employee at a different dollar general in franklinton la and I'm an assistant manager so I know the things that need to be done to propley close the store at night such as recovering.

Just because your an employee in another store does not mean you can shop slowly at another store 20min before close. You would be complaining if someone did that in your store.. and I hope your store is perfection since you are judging others. Jealous much?

Dollar General customer service

Around 5pm on 10/24 I had went into dollar general to get some deodorant. As soon ad I walked in i noticed a line so long it was going way past into the lane of merchandise. Their was one cashier, not one time did I hear her call for customer service. I counted 12 people in line. I have been in the store before, and if they called for customer service they would be very unprofessional and yell it across the store of who they were calling for assistance. With all the people that was in the line I saw today, there was no change of pace as her speed checking things out. It was slow. No get up and go. This will be the last time I ever go into st.james dollar general again. Very very disappointed of the customer service. The staff. And the management. Tapes need to be reviewed and maybe a new thought of manger as well as staff. Very unprofessional.

Dollar General employee

I was in my local Dollar General store number 18918.. I was being rang out by Cindy and my digital coupons wouldn't come up so she called the assistant manager Natasha, she came over and asked what is the problem Cindy said the digital coupons didn't come off so she looked at the register and she said the xtra laundry detergent wasn't rung up Cindy said yes it was she Natasha argued with her and me so she rang it up again took off the digital coupons and then stormed away. I paid and went to my car and looked over the receipt I was charged twice for the laundry detergent, so I went back in Cindy asked what was wrong I said I was charged twice for the laundry detergent, she said I told her that, so Natasha yells up to the front now what is the problem, came behind the counter all huffy and said I was charged only one time so the other manager Erin looked at it and said no I was charged twice for it... Natasha then stormed over to the other register slamming thing and then waited on another customer. This is not the first time Natasha has charged me twice for items... and got snotty with me. Her coworkers don't like her attitude and neither do I something needsdone here, thus store is going to loose customer's with this person working there.

Dollar General open late and close early

I live right around the corner from this Dollar General and I'm tired of them opening late and closing early says on their door hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. however they don't normally open till between 8:30 and 9 and they close between 9 and 9:30. This is truly become an inconvenience to me. Also when they are open they only have one cashier working and I have stood in line for up to 30 minutes! I have stopped going to this store because it is such an aggravation.

Dollar General employees

I have lived here in ortonville for two years, and this is the most disrespectful dollar general I have ever been in. Coming from the Minnesota citys, I have been to many dollar general stores. But the employees have never been so uncaring and unkind as the ones at this store. I'm always returning products that are broken when I purchased them, and never feel like the employees want to help me. I feel like I shouldn't come across so many bad products, the store is always cluttered and it's impossible to move isle to isle. Today I walked in and did some shopping and there were people who don't work there behind the counter talking with the manager, it was very unprofessional. Another employee cut me and my daughter off with a cart when we entered the building as if we weren't even their. I'm very disappointed being there is not many shopping options in this town but if there was I would chose them over this dollar general. Which is a shame because I've never had problems before attending this store here in Ortonville.

Dollar General store

I have been going to this store pretty much since it opened because of the approximately from my house. As of late the store is in total chaos (for about the last three months). You walk in the front door and there is such a mess there you can hardly navigate. The aisles are blocked by unstocked merchandise. One side of one complete aisle is clearance merchandise that looks more like products were just thrown and where they landed is where they stayed. Advertisement signs are not kept up to date. I went to buy a Swiffer product a couple of months ago and the signage stated one price and went I checked out the price was higher, went back to the self and pulled the signage that had expired in May. Lately you can be at the register and not a sole around for instance one time a could hear someone talking but never seen her, one person walked back in from lunch and checked me out. This past Saturday I was heading to the check out and the young girl at the check out took off outside with some friends of hers and had to wait for another person to come and take my money.
I do visit the other stores when I am in that direction. One store on S. Springfield #06850 has always been clean and organized. The new store on E. Broadway #06262 is immaculate. Just hope this makes a difference otherwise I have to go out of my way to go to the other stores. It's a shame that this store has ran down so much because the people on this side of town have nothing else.
