manager of the store
The dollar general store #13668. In Dodson branch, tn. 38501. The manager Shelly Good has been heard bragging and laughing about calling the law on people and saying that she is going to rid this community of the riff raff. Why is this woman still allowed to be the manager, she has ran off customers, people don't even like going to the store anymore because of her. She not only is rude to customers but she is extremely rude and disrespectful to the employees. What is it going to take for you to realize that she is ruining the store because of her behavior.
rude cashier
I went in the Dollar General in Pineville the other day to purchase a couple items. I noticed this cashier named Christy was standing outside smoking, on her phone. I proceeded to get my items and after browsing for about 20 minutes, I went to check out. The cashier was nice but Christy was still outside smoking and on her cell phone. There was about 15 people in line and when I asked her why don't she help out, she claimed that she can do what she wants and the cashier would be okay. What an attitude! I would think that customers deserve better than that and me and several other people I know will boycott this store until action is taken. We won't come back to this store until she either quits or gets fired! This isn't the first time she's acted like this either.
I love how you remember the name of the "rude" cashier but you don't mention the name of the polite one.
The cashier has the ability to page her with the phone if she needs help, so if the cashier didn't page her she probably assumed she had it under control. Customers do have a tendency to over aggregate the lines because they have to wait. And I always take my lunches outside when it is nice, just because there is a breakroom doesn't mean you have to use it
You should contact corporate. They most likely won't see your complaint here. If she was on lunch break, thats one thing but if it was just a smoke break thats another. I know of this Christy person through a friend of mine. She is a very snobbish person and does need to be fired for her response for refusing to help.
She was probably on her lunch, and since you asked and probably with and attitude, she didn't feel the need to explain herself.
If she was on lunch, why wasn't she in the designated break area instead of in plain view of everybody where it was ASSumed she was working, getting paid to smoke. Even if she was on "lunch" by rule, she should've clocked in and helped out then either finished break later.
worker did not want to help customer with finding a item in store
I walked into dollar general looking for automotive items...I could not find air pressure gauge for my car tire..I asked the employee if the store had the item?...the employee said I dont know if we do or not...I asked the employee for help finding the item, she then asked if I looked down the automotive isle?..I said yes but maybe I overlooked it..she then said I dont know, she would not help me look for the item or did not ask any other employee to help me look for the pressure gauge...I am very displeased with the customer service, I will never go to this dollar general again if the employees are not willing to help a customer find a item.
Let me guess lol. You barged up to the register and harassed the cashier while they were checking out customers. And they couldn't leave the register, so they just pointed you in the right direction. But you had already looked there, so the employee is so rude and unhelpful!
They probably didn't have any or you would have found one. They have a million things to do as it is.
not offering skin products to all backgrounds
I was very upset after leaving dollar general. I took my daughter to get makeup for fun and dollar general has nothing for her skin color. She was so upset and heartbroken seeing all the different shades for white people. But nothing for her. I hope that this can be fixed right away. I shouldn't have had to see my daughter so embarrassed that she's not the normal color which were words out of her little mouth because dollar general can't offer a wider range of colors.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
poor customer service by manager suzie
First off, I am a former employee of hers. I quit approximately 6 months ago for numerous reasons, poor store management. I am now a customer who shops at the store 1-2 times per week. On Tuesday morning, 10-2 I received a phone call at 6:30 in the morning from your alarm company telling me there was an active alarm at the store and that police were on the way. I was taken aback that I would be on their call list after 6 months. I sent Suzie a message asking to have my name taken off the list. I did not receive a response 24 hours later so I sent her a second message. To date I have not heard anything from her (not shocked). As a customer I want my name taken off the list so I don't get woke up during closed hours at the store. Seems like a simple thing to accomplish.
That's poor management. The manager is supposed to have you removed from that list immediately after you quit.
As a former employee you should know dg does not monitor this site. You need to call corporate or talk to her in person on one of your trips to the store through the week.
safety and stock
Fort wayne indiana has a few dollar general stores. They are all ran in the same conditions. Towers of merchandise everywhere can not get through the isiles. But here is the biggest issue I have with dg. The items on the ads are never there.in any of the stores. I understand running out but every store? No, I aak about this or that, sorry, not in stock.
manager behavior
There is this manager by the name of Anthony at 4871 Buckingham rd. in Fort Myers, Florida. Last Thursday September 27, 2018 I went there and while he was talking to me, I noticed he was intoxicated and his breathe was very strong with the smell of alcohol.
I realized he is the same manager that used to be at the Joel blvd. store in Lehigh Acres, FL and it was the same problem over there. He would show up late some saturdays about an hour past opening time all red in his face, his hands shaking and intoxicated. I can't believe none of his employees don't have the nerves to report him. You can't have someone like this at the fore front of your business. Thank you.
Use the number at the bottom of the receipt and report him.
unsafe conditions
The DG at 13400 State Highway 75, Remlap, AL 35133 use to be wonderful but the last few months it is dirty and you can't walk through the isles for boxes, carts and other items in the isles. This creates a very unsafe environment for customers. This makes me sad since it was such a blessing to have in our community due to our isolated rural homes. Not sure what changes but would like to see improvements.
employee complaint from a customer!!!
This employee in Tallahassee flrodia 32310 on blountstown highway named Jennifer I don't know last names but she is considered a key holder. My fiance works their I went in the store to purchase an item that couldn't be found when I brought it to her attention she got rude with me and also decided to tell me I've got to wait for my fiance to get back from a funeral so she can deal with finding the product. Which is very rude and disrespectful. Everytime I go into that store everyone is so nice and helpful but when it comes to Jennifer she is very rude to me all the time and it's very disrespectful when I'm a paying customer weather my fiance works up there or not me and her should not be treated differently or in such a rude manner I do not respect the fact that she gives me dirty looks and is very rude to me when asking for a product or any type of help from her. She doesnt tlike my fiance for some reason and likes to take it out on me as well as on my fiance and it's very unprofessional as she's a manager! How could you be any type of manager with that additude or that disrespect towards a customer I do not agree with that one bit. I'm a very nice and kind person I keep to my own woth a lot of things and I do not complain or even write to company's cause I've never been mistreated like this at any store I've ever been to this is very ridiculous and absured in many ways and I would like some type of feedback along with skmethijng being done about this employee she shouldn't be able to treat customers in that manner no one should have to be disrespected like that from anyone! She is at work and should be taking her job SERIOUS customer service is key in a business and is very important and her customer service skills are just horrided I feel very mistreated when she's working to the point I will no longer go to that store while she is working I stay 5 minutes from the store and I love going there to get thujngs that I need for the week or day or month. If this doesn't get solved I will no longer EVER go to that store or any dollar general ever again I do not like being treated in that manner when I'm spending my money at that place of business. She is very disrespectful and very rude to me everytime I go there it's a very unpleasant experience. Please deal with this manner soon as possible or I will be going further with my complaint to someone who will deal with this situation in the right way. Thanks.!
First off this sounds like a personal grudge against her. If you boyfriend works there then shop when she is not working, I'm sure he would know her schedule. And if she was the only one working until he got back from a funeral, then she can't leave the front of the store to go look for something in the back until she has coverage. You know that since you boyfriend works there. You also know the dg does not monitor this page and will never see this complaint.
lack of personnel
Although i am a stockholder in dollar general, i must complain about the customer service at the Pope, MS store #12278. The personnel who are in the store are friendly, but there are never enough cashiers and customers are always standing in line for one cashier. I've been by there 3 times this week, and each time, there was one cashier working and at least 8 people standing in line. I don't understand why the management doesn't hire enough cashiers, especially for peak shopping hours. Also, there is a tremendous hole in the parking lot that is going to do severe damage to someone's car. This hole has been in the parking lot for at least 2 years, and it needs to be repaired.
As long as these stores are making a profit, which I think they are, nothing's going to change.
store hours
Earlier this year the store was closing at 930/945 stating that they had to count the registers, but the time on the website and door says 10pm...
Now when I started going to the store there's always the sign up at night saying they closing at 8 due to the lights out. I have seen this sign up for a while now (approx. a month). I'm so confused on the time of closing. I go to this one b/c I'm familiar with it and I choose dollar General over the other stores but this location on Nine Mile road in Richmond, Va is having me thinking otherwise
Given the lighting conditions and trying to keep customers safe, corporate must have approved the early closing.
Well duh, the sign says 8, that means 8. Not hard to figure that out. Obviously approved for security reasons, corporate wont change it on website because it's not permanent hence the sign.
solitary worker trying to cover whole store
I generally go in the DG in Salem, SC, twice a week. In the last 2 visits, I've noticed there is only ONE person working there. He is alone in the place attempting to do it all- cashier, stocker, etc. He is not even able to take a break, which I believe is against labor laws. He cannot go to the restroom and feel at ease .Thought you should be made aware and give that employee a commendation!
Call customer service, dg does not monitor this site.
manager behavior very rude
The manager at the store was so rude. My cousin and i come to this store every once in awhile and we have never had a good experience here. The manager as well as the team members are always unwilling to help with the smallest of things. They obviously hate their job. I have myself worked at Dg and i liked it. I have never felt so unwelcome at a store in my life. I was told by a team member that i couldn't buy certain items, but if it is on the floor why can't i buy it? If it is there for me to see how can someone refuse to sell it to me? It doesn't make any sense. I'm not going back to this location, and i am seriously thinking of finding another place to shop. You are only as strong as your weakest player, and this manager is definitely your weakest player. To me she is the face of dollar general.
check out
The manager rung my items up, took my money and now he missed place the money he took off the counter all because he wanted to do a million things while checking me out . He looked at the cameras twice and still claim that he has no idea where he put my money . I spent a whole hour in the store because of that bullcrap ! I paid so where is my money ? I told him to check the registers but he went to the back to count the money . I don't understand how you lose $5 in 10 seconds !
store manager at thomas, ok store
Store manager is hateful rude always talking about people who live in community (it's very small) I've witnessed her piling store merchandise into her car several times not bagged possibly stealing it. I've witnessed her not ringing up merchandise for employees and family members. Selling cigarettes to minors. I'm sure all if this has been reported but nothing ever comes from it! Her store is dirty cluttered unsafe the bathroom is gross and she appears to have plenty of help.if this is all you can hire for manegment the dollar stores needs to close it's doors. I'm also told she follows whom who carry large purses now come on just because we carry large bags doesn't make us shoplifters! I personally have taken my business else where. Needs to be addressed and taken serious.
Oh wow, the everybody is a thief except for yourself routine. Never would've guessed that.
manager
I was in the store in Graham Tx and I purchase some dog treats. The treats were on sale but when I got to the register they rang up as regular price so I told the store clerk and we back to the pet section and looked at the tag and which stated the treat name and the sale price so we walked back up to the front and she went to get the manager so she could do a price change and the clerk tried to explain the sale price not ringing up and the manager yelled at her in front of me and told her that someone put the item in the wrong place and again the clerk tried to explain and the manager yelled again.
cursing employee in front it customers
Employee returns from working in the back of the store. Manager was already at the front doing something with a shopping cart, and orders her to stay in the front! Managers words we out (loud & clear) told the employee at 8:50 p. M 10/01/2018 (stay your [censored] in the front! I don't give a damn if you came to work at 2p.M. You haven't did [censored] all day anyway!) this isn't the first time i've encountered this manager disrespecting this employee in front of customers! Which also makes the store look bad!
store cleanliness and safety
I frequently go to the Dollar General located in Wakefield, VA. Recently I went in and the store was a complete mess. It is always dirty and the aisles are so cramped you can barely walk through. In this last visit I was trying to walk down the chip aisle and there were racks of clothes blocking all the chips and another cart in middle of aisle. While trying to move merchandise to get bags of chips I cut my ankle on the cart in middle of aisle. Something needs to be done about the cleanliness and safety of this store. I took pictures if the aisles on my phone for proof.
True, maybe get something for nothing that way.
That looks like the stuff that is usually found on the sidewalk. My guess would be either it was raining and it couldn't be outside, it was early and not out yet or late and already brought in. These stores are small and the sidewalk is used as space for displays. There is usually no room in the back to hold these which is why they are on the sidewalk. Every store does this. I'm sure if you would have asked they would have moved it for you.
restroom
My elderly mother and I were shopping she needed to use the restroom due to health issues. We asked the store attend if she could let her use the bathroom we were told there was no access to the women's room she would have to use the man's room so we said okay to that and went to use the restroom. But that door was locked too. Meaning that they have no keys to either bathroom unfortunately my mother had a accident and was not able to make it to another restroom.
coca cola
I purchased Coca Cola products on 9/27/18 at the Dollar General located at 4406 S Raul Longoria Rd, Edinburg TX. I tried to purchase flavored Fanta (orange) combined with Coke Zero and a Sprite in 2 liter bottles. The paper sign on the shelf said "Coke, Sprite, and assorted varieties $3 for 3". There was also a sticker ON the shelf almost touching the brands regular price that said "$3 for 3". The cashier told me I couldn't get the price reflected on the sign and stickers, and the acting asst manager also said I could not. Dollar General this is FRAUD. This is the 4-5 time, on different dates, different sales that your company does this. I am SO close to contacting the BBB! You are misleading customers with your wording on your signs, and constantly, CONSTANTLY changing rules whenever you feel like it, to benefit your company financially. THIS IS blatant FRAUD. This is a legal matter that your company needs to STOP practicing. The same exact thing has happened to me atleast 10 times with your digital coupons. There is never stocked merchandise on the shelves, or the cashiers just say, "if coupons dont work, I cant give you the item at the sale price", even if the item matches the coupon EXACTLY.! All we need to do as customers is contact our local news channel. YOU ALL ARE RIPPING thousands of people off daily! NOT cool DG...NOT cool!
You have to buy 3, you cant buy 2 and still get the for 1 dollar each.
