Dollar General customer service on sunday, 7-2-17 at approx 3:00

I was checking out and there was an error on the computer. There were 3 other customers behind me. The woman who i assume was the assistant Manager and the only other employee I saw in the store went outside to smoke while the cashier tried to fix the problem. After some time (estimating 8-10 minutes) I went outside to tell both employees that it still wasn't working. Upon returning inside, the Assistant Manager was incredibly rude to the cashier as well as my husband and I. The other employee had not yet been given a till so the people in line (which had grown to 8 or 9 by this time) had to wait until the AM counted out the drawer for the other cashier so she could help. While she was counting that, she sent a message with the other cashier to tell us we had to cancel the whole transaction and they would NOT be taking any more debit/credit card purchases. Never were we apologized too by anyone but the checker. At this point, I had been in line approximately 20 minutes and wasn't going to wait any longer (or did I have any other form of payment). I informed the second cashier that the situation was ridiculous and left my purchases in the bagging carousel. I do not know the name of the AM but I can say that the ONLY person being professional in the store was our checker (named MIstina) who had the misfortune of coming on shift when she did. I have never been treated the way I was that day. If there was anywhere else to shop in this town, I would never go back. I feel like if the AM would have just done her job and gotten the other checker her till instead of going on a cigarette break while the only register that was open was malfunctioning, the entire situation could have been avoided. I also expect to be treated with some decency and not like I have done something wrong when I haven't.

Dollar General poor customer service/courtesy

It is very said when patrons invest money in your establishment only to be disrespected. I was in your store located ad 7470 West Commercial Boulevard, Lauderhill, Florida, yesterday. Prior to paying for my items, I asked one of your sales associate that was working the floor if I could use the restroom as I really needed to pee desperately. I was at the point of going on myself. She said I will need to get the key from the Store Manager that was working the register. As such, I asked the Store Manager if I could have the key to the restroom. She then stated the restroom was out of order. I told that was not true as I just spoke with another representative on the floor that told me to get the key from you (store manager). I pleaded to her that I really needed to go, but she still stuck to her story that the restroom was out of order despite the fact that the other sales associates told me differently. I asked her if the restroom is out of order and still early afternoon where would they all go to use the restroom if the store closed at 9:00 p.m. She looked at me with such disrespect and did not answer. I still paid for my items and hurried out of your store to find someplace to release myself. It is shameful, that your company would employ such inconsiderate individual and I hope someone treat her the way she treated me. With that said, believe me, I will not be shopping at your store anymore if this is how you treat your patrons. They say word of mouth is the best advertisement and believe me, I will spread the word as to the treatment received by your representative which is unaccepted after patrons invest hundreds of dollars in your company. This is not extending courtesy to your clients.

Dollar General employee

I went in the Ohatchee AL location where I proceeded through the door with my SERVICE dog where the employee on duty July 3 2017 at 1:22 p.m. rudely told me 'your dog can't come in here.' I will NOT ever be going back to this location again and I WILL be telling EVERYONE I know to do the same. I will not be treated with disrespect. The employee stopped ringing up other customers to stop me from coming in the door because my dog was with me. I have severe depression and social anxiety my dog helps keep me calm and collected so I don't have a panic attack. I have been hospitalized because of this issue several times. I shouldn't have to LEAVE a store where I was shopping for a few items because my service dog isn't allowed. This is a very wrong way to treat customers and because of this woman's rude remark to me about my dog this location has lost my business until displinary actions are taken.

Dollar General re: dg alkaline 9v batteries/dollar general store #13746 oceanway, jacksonville, florida

On 02 JUL at 5:24, I stopped by our local Dollar general to purchase a few Items, one being (4) packs of 9V batteries that was priced at $2.00 a pack. Once up at the check out register I noticed that the clerk ( very nice attitude) charged me for each pack at $2.50. I explained to the clerk that it was priced at $2.00 and is the reasons why I grabbed all (4); she then called her store manager Mandy for price verification. Without checking where I got the items from for pricing, she replied, " they where on the wrong spot".." you can either take them or leave them!. I then replied that the pricing is marked $2.00 and was proceeding to the shelf to show her. She insisted that they where moved in the wrong spot, and further drew up a scenario in front of other waiting customers to validate her point. " if you was at another store with the item being more expensive, would I pay for the items? Well after the concern for not holding up the line any further, I said to the clerk with the very nice attitude, I'll pay for them. Mandy then walked off and replied " I thought so"... When I reached at home, which is not far from the store, I called back and recognized the voice, and the time it was only two employees there., Mandy answered the phone and said her name very fast, I asked to whom am I speaking too? Her response to me was why?! She thens answered, this is Mandy the store manager. First of all I realize I can spend my hard earn money where ever I please, but having to deal with attitudes from a very rude store manager is unacceptable. I WILL never shop at this store EVER again! I was even TOLD that there was an employee that left (QUIT) because of this location and it's attitude and problems. This location is in the Ocean way location of Jacksonville Florida, so those of you from the area is aware of the past an sometimes continuing issues we see here!

Dollar General prices missing on items

I went into the dollar general on Washington Rd. For some reason, the prices are missing from a lot of products. Three employees were talking do know if someone was on their break but it looks unprofessional when an employee is sitting down when they have customers. One guy did assist with helping me with the prices. It is one particular employee, I do not know her name but she is always on her phone when I come in, she is a black lady, tall and skinny that wear glasses. This is an unprofessional look when customers have to see and hear what she is talking about opening up her cashier.

Dollar General store manager

On July 1st 2017 I was shopping in the Country Club rd store in Lake Charles, La store. While I was shopping I over heard the store manager telling another store employee ( the assistant manager8i think) that she could not take off work to go to her grandmothers funeral or even switch schedules with her. What kind of company is so heartless to not allow someone to attend a grandparents funeral?
There has been other times that I been in this store and heard this manager yelling and belittling other store employees.

Dollar General the constant change in time

I would like to know as to why your store in Brown City Michigan. Is constantly changing your times that you close. it was nice that when you stayed open until 10 pm. and you were staying open until then. BUT after you decided to remodel you decided to close at 9pm now. WHY?

don't get me wrong its nice that you remodeled the store. and it looks better now then it has. it would also be nice if the store would carry the dog food gravy train in "SMALL" bite form for my dog. I believe to try and keep the money going in my own community .

Dollar General manager

I went to the dollar store in mtburg, ar.Last night and had a very bad, humiliating & embarrassing experience with the store manager named tina. I first asked about the sale prices and if i could have an ad, closing manager told me that they weren't putting up sale price tags per corp.Office doing to testing on the stores.I replied i felt that wasn't being fair to the customers and i was gonna put it on facebook so people will be aware, well she went into the office and called the store manager (why i'm not sure ) noted: this happened 1 week prior also when i was returning a few items. Well i am about to check out and tina walks in and tells the reason for the sale tags not being up, then proceeds to tell that i couldn't return some coffee, well..Some of it was expired as before, she began to tell me that they know me and the alma store and i used to work for dg and that i am a problem. It was totally embarrassing to me in front of the other customers and employees. I told her i'm not causing problems, i was just asking questions, she told me next i come in if there's a problem she wants her employees to make a call to the police instead of her. I am so shakened up over this whole incident, i couldn't sleep, needless to say i did start recording after she started demeaning me. Please look & listen to the tape of how your store manager treated me and please respond back to me asap. Thank you n have a blessed day, teresa birdtail [protected]

Dollar General rita shimek in yoakum, tx 77995

Rita Shimek is one of the rudest most unprofessional manager I have ever came across. It seems as if many people have complained about her and absolutely nothing has been done about it. If you use more than 2 coupons she begins to be very hostile towards you making your shopping trip very ugly. She always has something smart to say and never wants to help locate items or give pricea on anything. She treats other customers very rudely and is never polite. She denies any kind of coupons ever because she says that usimy more than 2 coupons in a single transaction is committing coupon fraud and says the internet printable are fakes so she won't have to take them. Overall she makes shopping at this location unworthy. Of something isn't done about this im sorry but I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Dollar General cashier at store# 02698

On June 27, 2917 at approximate 19: 10 while standing at the waiting on the cashier to come and check me out. After standing there for about 30 seconds I said Hello, to get some one attention. The young lady that was placing items on the shelf approached me and in a rude, disrespectful, condescending tone
stated the other side, that's why the sign is there. She completely over look the fact that no cashier was at either register. At that point I replied that's no way to speak to an adult and its no to speak to a customer. This clerk should be required to go to some type of customer service training. She should be made to understand without the customers she would be unemployed. Thanks for your attention in this matter .

Dollar General refillable at&t phone card

6/27/2017

I paid $55.13 for minutes on my refillable AT&T Phone Card on 6/19/2017 at Dollar General on 927 N. University Dr., Nacogdoches, Texas. By the time I called to put the code in for the air time, it was already used. I am out of $55.13. I had to buy another AT&T air card at Brookshire Brothers in the amount of $45.00 and put air time on my phone on 6/21/2017. Definitely not at Dollar General! I talked to the manager at the store on 6/20 & 6/27/2017 and she said that it is nothing she can do. They do not give refunds.

I talked to AT&T and they said the only air time that was put on my phone was the one for $45.00 on 6/21/2017 that I purchased at Brookshire Brothers. I want my $55.13 back.

ATke the card and your receipt and speak to the manager at the Dollar General. It has been known that cashiers sometimes keep the numbers and use the gift cards themselves or pocket the money and never put it on the card to begin with. Taking the receipt allows the management to see what cashier you had

Dollar General unprofessional behaviour

I live in Louisville KY, in the Newburg area. I have been going to Dollar General Store in our area for over 25 years. At each location that the store has been moved to on Poplar Level Road, I have been a dedicated customer. Within the recent past, the management and mainly the employee's are disgracefully unprofessional to the customers, each other and aloud. For example, last evening (6/27/2017) approximately 8:00 pm, the only line open had about ten people waiting to check out. The young man at register one called management to have another register open. Management asked the young lady that was stocking shelves to open up register two. She did not comply. About two-minutes later, the young man at register one asked the other employee to help him and she complained loudly that "You all are getting on my nerves. You see that I am doing something." Of course customers were shocked to hear her response. She walked towards the counter and then turned around and walked back to what she was doing. Management finally opened register two to assist in getting customers out the door.

This same young girl I noticed after several encounters with her from purchases that I made from her, has a very bad attitude and should not be in the position of dealing with customers.

There are other incidents with other employees speaking aloud about how much they hate their jobs and can't wait to get off... and I can go on and on about what I hear and experience at this particular store.

As management and CEO of my own business, I definitely would have these employees terminated and replaced with more professional employees. Sorry to have to report this, and absolutely I could go to another Dollar General or even a competitor of Dollar General, but my dedication is to the Poplar Level Road store.

Dollar General management

I am a very frequent shopper at Dollar General. I have been shopping our local Dollar General for years. It's close to my house and I love it over Wal-Mart or Family Dollar. However about a month ago I started couponing. Not sure of all the ends and outs, so I joined a group. Well the posted that a coupon would attach to an item. So I went and purchased the item and the coupon was scanning. After I checked out the manager approached me, line was full, and look in my bag and say what coupon did you use for this? I told her that I used the coupon that was attaching. You says you know you can't use that for this item. So I explained that I saw it in the group. I went back a couple days later, not to coupon but to get my usual snacKS before work. When I walk in the cashier was looking at me funny. As I walk around the store another worker that was recovering said are you couponing. I said no, why? They said because we were told to watch you... are you serious? That made me feel like the manager was calling me a theif. I have never asked a cashier to push a coupon through or for special treatment. I work everyday and pay for what I get. Both situations were just embarrassing. I really don't think all of that was necessary. As much as my family don't like going to Family Dollar, I would rather shop there.
Store #00246
I sent this message last week, don't know if it went to the right person.

Dollar General sign on door

Sign on front door days "stop! Check out our wall of shame. We have photos are you going to be next?". 5th Ave store.

I think that is an obnoxious thing for the customer to see first thing as they walk in the door. There also is a sign saying large purses will be checked. It sounds like your company is expecting customers to steal instead of being thankful we are there. It just doesn't seem welcoming.

It's probably also racist because the sign is in a black demographic and you do not have the sign in nicer neighborhoods. The way it is worded is that you think the customer is there to steal...that's not very welcoming.

This Dollar General Store is absolutely awful to shop in! I normally drive to another county, when this one is just across the road from me, but I didn't feel well yesterday, so I thought I would try one more time. BUT, LOOK WHAT I FOUND. SO FRUSTRATING TRYING TO SHOP IN THIS MESS, WHEN YOU CAN'T EVEN GET DOWN THE ISLES! WHAT IS UP WITH THIS STORE? Even if it's truck day, they should wait till after customer hours of shopping. I worked in retail before, and was not allowed to get in the customer's way. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!

Racist? Are you kidding me. It seems everything is explained away by racism! It seems to me, a thief would be the only one with a problem with this sign. It wouldn't bother me to see this sign. Too many people are thieving and causing issues like; prices going up. loss of profits cause prices to go up. Inventory control issues for employees and companies. For those of you who are fighting for Sharia law, you would get hands cut off for stealing. Careful what you ask for, you may get it!

Nice to see that there is some intelligent life left on the web; you liberals screaming racism need to go do some self examination and tackle your hypocrisy; shoplifting costs EVERYONE. Consumers have to pay more when something is stolen. I did not realize this was rocket science. I will agree that stores do not seem welcoming anymore and some employees (without good judgment and security guard wannabes) will follow you around because they want to catch someone stealing; I take my money and go elsewhere when this happens. Quit whining and learn how to deal with something; it is not that hard.

If the sign offends you don't shop there. That's kind of how it works in America. I'm sure you could find an upscale store that would be very willing to take much more of your money. Go shop there!

Yeah, while not the most professional way to greet customers, the intrigue probably gets the store return visitors/shoppers who just go to see who got caught shoplifting that week. As far as 'checking large bags' goes, I doubt it's legal. State's laws probably dictate and a quick Google search should answer that question for you. Regarding the other issue, if shoplifting were not a huge problem in that store, they wouldn't have put the sign up. There aren't signs up in those other parts of town because there isn't a major theft issue there. One could bring up larger systemic racism arguements, but just the act of putting up that sign...not racist.

Dollar General unorganized, unstocked store

I shop frequently at the Dollar General Store #04321 at 113 Hwy 6, Amory, MS. It is less than a mile from my house and I stop by at least 2-3 times per week to pick up various items. I am so frustrated and tired of the condition of this store. I'm not sure what the problem is with management there, but the store is a complete mess. Several months ago, it appeared that a team of DG employees were brought in from out of town to clean things up, and it got better for a while, but is worse now than ever. I have gone by twice this weekend simply for cat food. Friday evening, there was no cat food that I purchase on the shelves. The only small bags were Rachel Ray cat food which I don't buy because it is $6.75/bag. I purchased it only because I had a coupon, and I needed it. I went back on Sat. evening in hopes of using my $5 off $25 discount and to look for more cat food and also laundry detergent, drinks and snacks. Again, nothing I was looking for was in stock. The aisles were all completely blocked with huge metal carts full of items to be put out (most of which were there Fri. night too), but no one was working on them. The floors were filthy. There is a very nice young man who works there named Hunter (I'm sorry I don't know his last name), who always appears to be doing the best he can do, but beyond him, I'm not sure of anyone else who is friendly and working hard. Please send someone to help get this store back in shape. It is so convenient to my house and I love shopping there when I can find what I need, and I don't want to start driving to the other side of town to Wal-Mart just to buy cat food. Thank you.
