$30 dg gift card purchased for my son, who is 20. He went to a dg in cape coral, florida & was told no money on it so he left. I called gift card #, lady said wasn't activated when purchased & that she activated it on phone at that time & that it would work. My son went back to same store, they again told him it had no money on it. He said they were rude, acted like they did not know what they were doing & made no attempt to try to figure out what was wrong-just assumed he was lying. I then looked up phone # to that store & called it many times that night & the next day & even today but every time got a voicemail that they are helping other customers. Really? Every time I called? And by the end, i've called that # approximately 20 times. I told my son to try a different dg store in cape coral, he went yesterday & had no problems using it. I am very upset with the embarrassment he faced with his items being rejected twice and the lack of that staff in trying to figure out the issue. It is their job! I want that particular stores actual number so I can speak to the manager-I have never heard of a retail store with an answering service, never mind every time I called. Ridiculous! That particular store needs better employees & training. I also would like a reimbursement for my son to have for the trouble this caused him, especially living 3 states away from home with little money, believing what they told him because they were older, the trouble going back & forth, the calls to the gift card line & the anxiety I have experienced wondering how to fix this when I knew the $30 was on that card. this store is like 2 blocks from my house, so I was excited when it came, but even on opening of the store, it wasnt stocked, and it has got worse, you can go in there week after week, and they are out. Either manager is not doing job. or employes arent, or both, so we have stoped going there, if you want custormers, you need a stocked store. And when you ask about products, dont say its probably in the back, but cant get to it. If you need stockers, if the price is right, I can get it done. Was a manager for dollar treeback in 2005, kepted my store full, and I only had a certain amount of hours, it all comes down to managment, ty hope you will fill the store.
DG does not hire stockers. they overwork the cashiers and have them do it. and how long has it been since it opened? it can take a couple of weeks for the shelves to fill.

hi i have a complaint about dollar general stores they are builing another store in mansfield ohio on woodville rd and cook road the people that live in the area does not want it in that area they have a dollar general store just 1 mile up the road on lexington ave they had a meeting on that dollar general store last month and had some pretty bad arguments to what there building at cook road and woodville in mansfield ohio and the people said no to dollar general we have enaough dollar general stores in this town so no to dollar genereal thankyou and bye.

Today I arrived at dollar general in middleburg nc approximately 4:45 to 5 p.m to purchase at u.s.cellular pin card to activate a phone. I was disrespected ang called a [censored] by store manager ! I avoided having interaction with manager do to prior conflict at a previous store in warrenton nc. Current manager or store associate said that I'm the manager of this store I can ban u if I want get out ! This was after transaction was made by former employee and I hadn't receive my change from breaking a hundred dollar bill. I will be filing paperwork with a layer due to the character of this employee that dollar general as a franchise choose to represent your establishment. I will not tolerate disrespect for as I am a customer and also a mother with child not a [censored] as your manager refers to me as. I was wrongfully van from store by manager and I feel that I have been discriminated against.

Its very sad that you all have a guy as a manager that does not know how to talk or treat people, he's always rude very disrespectful and treats everyone that comes in this store real horrible...I use to come to this Dollar General on a regular basis but once you all put him as manger at the Shreveport store #12560 I do not come like talking about it.Tonight I was on that side of town and needed some things before going home and stopped at that location..And as always first thing when you get in the store he is arguing with some ladies/customers...and for him to tell all the customers in the store whats going on was very unprofessional...For him being in a manger position for this long explains alot about your rules and what this store stands for...You all need to take care of this because It's alot going on in the world today as it is..and would hate for him to disrespect someone thats not having a good day or someone that doesn't looks at life as most people and something he says offend anyone..

I am a Vendor, when I arrived on site JUNE 1 2018 at DG #4129, The DM AMY KILPATRICK, who was doing an audit, immediately vented her dissatisfaction with my work in her store, she was hostile and said I had failed to properly do my job in this store, when I showed her she was wrong and not aware of current Work requirements contracted by my Company she questioned written proof. She did not apologize, or contact DG to retract her assessment of my work. I find this to be very unfair and not to any standard I know in working with other agencies, can the Regional Manager please contact me at [protected] about this issue.

I just stopped at dollar general in jacksboro, tn and i'm very disgusted with how I was treated! I tried to return an outfit I had bought at andersonville store the day before while waiting on my husband to get out of work, I live in jacksboro so I tried to take the outfit back to the jacksboro store. The store manager starla was very rude and unpleasant! The outfit still had the tags on it and I had the receipt but refused to return it saying "she had too many clothes in her store and that they don't take returns that are bought from others stores!" this is ridiculous! So mind you I live in jacksboro and I had to drive all the way back to andersonville to return a $10 outfit! The $10 I just got back is now going in gas so basically i'm still without the money! The jacksboro store is an absolute mess too. There's things laying all in the floor everywhere you look! You can't even push a biggie through the isles bc of the stuff piled everywhere! The store manager acts like everyone's a criminal and very rude! I will never go back to this dollar general ever again! I may not return to a dollar general store period after the way I was treated at jacksboro! I'm very certain that someone needs to work on that store and the store managers attitude!
returning a product
Four days after buying memorial day flowers and not using them, I returned them to the store. I had the receipt. I still was not given my full refund because the store had the flowers marked down. Not my problem! I will NEVER shop at Dollar General again. That was fraudulent! They had already processed the refund without explaining that they could not give me my full refund and would not let me keep the flowers instead. Very disturbed! I would attach my receipt, but the clerk kept it also. This was the Dollar General Store in McLeansboro, IL.

I have been shopping at the Dollar General on Broadway St in Cape for 2 years now and I love that store. About 2 days ago I came in after being at Fred's. I had made a small purchase at Freds and stuck the items in my purse. Proceeded to The DG on Broadway. Spent about $40.00 that time. As I was exiting the store the alarm went off so I came back like Malaina had asked but it didn't go off upon my reentry or departure again. Later that evening I found out through some ppl we know that she was telling the customers and her boss that I was stealing. The next day my boyfriend had went back to DG and upon his arrival at DG on Broadway, Malaina followed him around the store and proceeded to make sexual advances and remarks to him. Today 05/31/2018 I went again to DG and Malaina was Checker. As I checked out she was staring at me with a look of hate and when she went to give me my change she shoved it at me. Same evening me and my bf went yet again and Malaina was shouting to the customers how she was gonna go psycho [censored] on someone just because a kid was stealing earlier and of course lied to her about it. Do we have to be subject to these kind of people when we choose to spend our money in your store? I'm offended that she even said that about me and at the way she treated my BF. I spend on average $240.00 a month At this DG location, and im called a Thief?

I'm pretty sure that's not what happened. I'm pretty sure your old man made remarks to me while you were limping around after falling out of a near by dumpster. I told him I wasn't interested in men period! And the alarm did go off as you walked out so of course I'm going to question it but I never followed anyone around the store!
store not clean spiders everywhere and hot in store
I have been to store number 13124 on Martin luther king jr dr in Lumberton a few times in the past 2 weeks Different times I went to pick up a product off the shelf and a spider was on it So I left it there got a few other things and went to pay The cashier was very nice Her face was blood shot red and sweating It was really hot in the store She had a box fan on but it was not helping Another time I saw a spider on the counter and just left That store needs a good cleaning and spray for bugs If you have bugs in store you have bugs in your product I understand it gets hot here in Lumberton but it should not be cooler outside the store then in Someone is going to pass out in that store or get bite by something If I go back I will take Pictures of it It was just nasty

I stopped by the dollar general in our hometown of Huntington, Texas. It's a really small country town. This day was like so many other days inside the building with the exception your manager threw me out of the store. We had just came in from vacation. I gathered my things and approached the front. I hade 25 or so items. No one was at the register! That's how it always is there already so most folks refuse to stop there. I walked through the store looking for someone to check me out. No luck! Then I walked and called out does anyone work here? Finally after many minutes a red headed girl approached the register giggling. After driving for several hours already I asked her why it is that there is never anyone at the front of this store working the register. Again she giggled and I said that"it was ridiculous and I can't understand why it's like this"! Mind you I work in very much a hands on and service industry that deals with many people everyday! I took out my things and my husband was on his way in wondering why was taking so long. They reminded me my daughter needed two medications from there I forgot. So I went back in and I was looking and the girl started laughing and smiling again. There was a man leaning up against the wall texting and wearing ear buds. He is always on the phone and listening to something and not helping every time you go there anyhow. I said who's the manager and he said he was! I said to him" why can't you get anyone to take the money people are trying to spend there. I got no response at first cause he was texting and didn't have time for me. I said never mind and went to get the medicine. I said your not interested in my complaint cause your on the phone. You do not give a damn, I said that! I said I will be contacting your boss and their boss. He then proceeded to tell me it was none of my damn business what he was texting or who he was texting on his phone. I said whatever! This is crazy! He hovered over me screaming at my 5 foot 2 inch small self! He said you get out of my damn store! I said not until I get the medicine. He said you will get out now! He tried to force me manually nudging me. I said don't you touch me! He hurried me so fast yelling and nudging me that leave was the only thing to do! I find that anyone who doesn't respect their jobs and your store enough to do their job and help make shopping just a tad easier, doesn't deserve the job.. I am certain you will not tolerate this! condition of local store
I wish corporate would PLEASE do something about the deplorable condition of the Winona, Mississippi store. We recently lost our Walmart to closure and DG here has the perfect opportunity to meets the needs of our community. However, the stench and filth in our store is such that the locals no longer want to patronize it. This has been going on for longer than I can remember. product limits
Some dollar general stores do not post limits on products but restrict customers from buying many of a certain product (ex. 2 liter soda). I am hosting a party and couldn't even buy enough soda. ( I went to Walmart instead). They should post the limits. The service is garbage as well. The cashiers are almost always rude and I feel that dollar general should do something about it. human resources & fmla - why do I have to be a rehire. it's been a week for the background check
I have been working at Dollar General since last year and at the end of March I completed the necessary forms and was placed on Family & Medical Leave (fmla). Later that month, however, they dropped me from the payroll system. I was still on fmla so they had no right to do that by law. I re - applied at Dollar General this month and had to be processed as a new hire and do everything all over again. I did the urine test, finished all the paperwork, whatever was requested.
I am still waiting on my background check. I passed the background check in Illinois a month and a half ago. I should've been working last week but you are taking so long when I have only been gone for a month and a half.
doesn't fmla protect me from being fired? My job should have been saved until I returned. Maybe I need to see a lawyer about this since my District Manager says they dropped me because they had to hire a new Asst. Manager.

Please please for the love of your loyal customers replace the manager and assistant manager both of those ladies are unprofessional and rude. They attitude alone they show customer is appalling I could only imagine being an employee until recently when I over heard on two separate occasion one from the manager Katie talk so rudely and ignorantly to her employees belittling and degrading them in front of customers and another occasion when the assistant manager Geralind could literally careless about her job customers or employees . I know that the complaints on here are mostly petty and stupid. But this complaint just sounded like a simple misunderstanding and I wanted to help them. I'm not sure what your problem with me is.
incompetent employees and filth
Sadly, the local Dollar General #14660 on 101 Salt Grass Circle Poolville, TX is a disgrace to the local communities and it's customers. This store should be a welcome addition to those of us living in rural areas for simple items that you would otherwise have to drive 20 miles or more to purchase from the "local" grocery store. Within the last year the store has gone from needing to be tidied to complete filth and disgust. The shelves are rarely stocked, the coolers are empty more than their not, the carts loaded with products stand in the aisles for months on end. To top off this mess, the employees are rarely cordial and lack obvious cleanliness and ability to perform simple customer service procedures.

Today I went to the dollar general store in palmer, ma! I have been in this store before and it is a brand new store! I was thankful that dollar general opened a store in an area that is rural and needs this store! This is a beautiful store!
But today I cannot say that the store looked beautiful! I have worked in a store before and know the hard work involved in keeping the store clean and the stock on the shelves and not blocking the aisles!
I was discussed with how this store looked! A brand new beautiful store that looked like a hurricane hit it! I asked the woman if she needed more help in that store and she said no! Said just needed time to put things on the shelves! Someone should time her that all is not well, if the stock isn't on the shelves! Upsets me on how, no one does their job anymore! No one has pride in their job! If she had a good work ethic, the store would look perfect! Your store in palmer will fail with the current staff in that store!
Every aisle was full of stock to be put out! The woman said there is a lot more in the back room! Yet the shelves were empty and a carriage won't fit down an aisle!
