unethical behavior
My sister recently worked at the dollar general in tuscumbia al... Well I had already been told that the manager brandy ragan had been bad mouthing my sister so I went in and purchased a few things and she proceeds to start telling me my sister broke into her house and calling her names like meth head and saying she was going to "beat her [censored]". So I wanted to see if I was the only one she would say it to and boy was I wrong 4 more people went in and she said the same things to them and some... So basically I do not appreciate her bad mouthing my sister I have been a manager I know that you can not do that but since she wants to talk about my sister you should go ahead and drug test her too u may be surprised oh and if she misses work any its because shes in jail because we are filing charges for slander and im telling everyone I know not to go in that store.

concerns about dollar general employee dumping personal trash in dumpster
On Tuesday 1 May 2018 I observed a DG Employee dumping her personal trash in the dumpster behind the store she got out the trunk of her car, Here is why this is not a good thing, if other people see someone driving up to the dumpster dumping their personal trash they will feel like they can do the same thing and this will create a devastating effect because people will start dumping tires, construction debris, yard waste, etc, and you guys will have a serious situation, just thought I pass that info on to you guys

clearance priced items
On today, May 2, 2018 at 10:27 am, I was shopping in store number 06368 when I saw the clearance sign that Bobbie Brooks apparel was now $1.00 for red triangle, green star and grey star clothing. I found two items that I want to purchase. One was a red long sleeved sweater dress and the other was a white t-shirt with pink writing on the front. Both items were green star but upon getting to the register they rung up full price. A lead associate was called to the register and she void both items and called the manager up front to discuss the problem. They both went over to the area to view the price signage. I waited for about fifteen minutes for them to come back with a solution. But they went back to the floor to continue putting out freight. Finally the sales associate went to see what was taking so long and remind them that I was still waiting for the items. They had gone back to putting freight on the shelves. They both came back up front, and the manager said that they could not override the price. But she could not give me an explanation as to why there was a clearance price sign with those descriptions but the items could not be sold. They were also the only items left on the shelves with those color stars. I felt like customer satisfaction was not even offered to me.
cigarettes
Our local DG store is awesome and we love everyone who works there . However we went in this morning and much to our surprise their cigarettes had jumped up $4.00 in price. I didn't know that until they were already scanned. So I went ahead and got them. The cashier had told me they cost more and I said that's fine, I thought 10 or 20 cents more not 4.00. With that being said I can guarantee you that your cigarette sales will go way down. This is a small town and people will go down the road to get them. Just right down the road $5.18 a pack.
DG doesn’t come up with the prices for cigarettes. that’s the cigarette companies.
groceries
My name is Dennis Davis, combat wounded veteran I went to the lacoochee Dollar Store in lacoochee Florida on May 1st at 9:07 a.m. bought some groceries that totaled up to $172 it took me about 30 minutes to go from my home to the dollar store and back the grocery cart that I had was a little over half full and it totaled to be a little over a hundred and $72 but I got to thinking when I was looking in my refrigerator it was it's half empty my freezer is less than a quarter full and some miscellaneous items on my counter and I'm thinking there is no way my grocery bill could have been over a $172 I have never spent that much at the dollar store ever and I would like you guys to please look into this because the last thing I want is to be robbed of my money that I almost died for in Iraq from the dollar General I did not take my receipt because I trust you guys I've never taken my receipt but this time I might have kicked myself in the [censored] but I hope that is not true thank you very much I will be looking for a response
bathroom
Ok I was so happy to see a dollar general close to me it use to a family dollar. So I go in I put some things in my cart and ask to use there bathroom, they sad no and told me to to Starbucks. So I did say how can I go to a place that calls cops on people who r not buying, I was buying in the dollar store and I use to go months before so I know they did not take the bathroom out. So was happy to see the sore but also wanted to buy. I will never try to go there again. So sad. This happen 2 weeks ago. Thank you Mildred Gomez.
I am complaining about closing a store early.
I drove up to the store out in the pleasant Hill area in TN. The actual address is Crossville TN. A girl who I have only notice working there for maybe a week now, who was running the store by the name Brittany was checking out someone and it was 2 mins till 10. I understand that it was last couple mins but had she still had the door unlocked since it was not even 10 I could have had time to run in and get what I needed. Told her I knew what I needed and exactly where it was and even had the right change. I been going to this store 2 or 3 times a day since it has open. I would like to know if they are suppose to lock the doors before 10.
If you go 2 or 3 times a day, then you should know when they close. Bye!
assistant store manager and another associate
Was in store 01975 a couple days ago and the assistant store manager Lupe was talking to another girl on the sales floor. It was brought up that the old manager wasn't doing her job and that she was a disgrace to the company. In front of customers, and Lupe was using such fowl language it was ridiculous. I have never had the store manager mean to me. They both kept say g now that she's gone things would get better in the store. Something needs to be addressed here.
customer service
Went to the store in Hatfield In. The new cashier names Lora is a wack job. She litteraly told a paying customer that he was fcking dck... me along with several other people in line could not believe what we heard her say.
I have also witnessed her cussing the Assistant Manager and the Manager.. Every time I go there I check to see if she is working and if so I do not even go in..
Why has she not been fired on the spot?
What you need to realize is DG has minimal employees and pays minimum wage so what do you expect
employees
I was in dollar general in Williams, this evening at about 6pm on Saturday April 28, 2018 and there was I believe a manager sitting behind the counter while the cashier helped us. Literally sitting on her butt on the ground or a stool right there in plain site. And the minute you walked up to the counter you could smell weed. We think she had the weed vape. We aren't sure if that was the case but I do know you couldn't smell anything until you got to the counter. I used to be a manager at this dollar general till my son got sick and my husband got diagnosed with a brain tumor. So I know what is and isn't appropriate and I know for a fact sitting on the job whole customers can see you is definitely not appropriate or professional. And then the smell of weed was so strong there was absolutely no mistaking it for anything else. This employee I have never seen before so I don't know her name but you can view on the camera how lazy and unprofessional she was being.
She was counting the safe. Where she was sitting points to that. As to smelling like weed, were they both doing their jobs? It sounds like they were. Stop trying to find something to [censored] about.
rudeness and attitude of store manager/refusal to do a return
On April 27th I went into the dollar general in sterlington, La and the store manager Tonya Musgroves was very rude and wouldn't listen to what my needs were and refused my return. She said I had to take it back to store I bought and also all sales are final on clearance items. Nowhere between dollar general and the website does it say all sales are final on clearance items. I went into the Dubach, Marion, Bernice and sterlington buying stuff for a family who lost everything in a fire earlier in the week. I didn't know there sizes or that the had allergies so I need to return some of the items and also everything I bought wasn't clearance and then some of the stuff even regular I was overcharged. I spent $400 so I need to know why you allow your employees to be rude and makeup their own rules. I refuse to be stuck with the stuff that family couldn't use. I would like a response ASAP about how to handle and return these items.
returns
I was recently in dollar general in sterlington, La, and I wanted to return some items that the Marion store had messed up on..the manage Tonya told me very rudely she would not return my items..to take them back to the store I got them..I have never had any body from the dollar store tell me that..she was very rude to me in front of customers, I just turned and walked out..and I wasn't the only one who left.
racial profiling and/or discrimination
I am complaining about a horrible experience that i had two days ago (April 26, 2018) in the Dollar General store (Store# 19242) located at 135 Canal Street, Staten Island New York 10304. I was accused by the Manager of stealing, in front of other customers and workers. The Manager claimed that he has been there for three months and that I had also been there many times and never bought anything. He claimed that he had received a call from his "LP" about me stealing. When I explained to him that I had bought numerous items there and that he even helped me with a purchase once, he refused to listen and called for the police. I then returned to the store with the empty boxes of the items that I had purchased and the corresponding receipts. He then changed his story and stated that I was there twice on that particular day and didn't buy anything. I proceeded to explain to him that I was there to view some items that I needed and then went to the nearby Family Dollar store to compare prices. I am a local taxpayer and home owner of this community. I have been shopping at that location since before it was a Dollar General and it was a Family Dollar. That particular Manager is a lier, has no manners, respect or professionalism. I am demanding a public apology. I have already started to publicly rate this store negatively on the internet and will continue to do so, I will also be contacting the local politicians as this may be a case of racially profiling customers, as I happen to be of Hispanic descent. I immediately called the Corporate Office on that very same day and I was told that I would be receiving a call from the District Manager named Craig or Greg, within 24 hours. I waited all day yesterday and that call never came. The complaint number for that call is [protected]. Thank you and I am looking forward to your rapid response
customer service
I shopped at 8 dollar general stores today I love this store and the special clearance events...i spent hundreds of dollars today and had a great experience until I got to the crothersville in store...i had a list of everything on clearance with up codes most of which was still on the shelves and not in the clearance area so I took a few items which I had purchased (clearanced) at other stores so I knew they were clearances however she told me that it wasn't online I then checked the toilet paper and paper towels which I had purchased at another store all she said is it's not on sale and wouldn't check that store has, so many discontinued items that I should've been able to purchase ...i do hundreds of dollars of buisness at dg monthly it's one of my favorite places to shop however today I feel so let down...id on the other hand like to praise the newer scottsburg indiana store on hwy 31 south...there store was spotless and so organized and everyone there's so polite.
nationwide sale this weekend
Me and my mother in law went to the dollar general In Odessa Texas on 8th street. We had a cart full of the sales items that were from discontinued list. We even asked a sales associate if a product was on sale and she stated yes. At this time another associate came up and told her that we were couponing and no. When we went to check out we said that her manager wouldn't let her do the overrides that the other dollar general stores were doing. The lady was extra rude and gave us an attitude when we told her that it was a nation sale and they needed to honor it. Very very disappointed in the way dollar general employees are handling this sale!

discriminatory actions
At the register the employee scoffed and complained about me needing a price check all along while taking a personal call. My friend who was near me made a complaint about how unfriendly the lady putting up glasses was. Then I made he comment it must be contagious. The employee then refused service to me out of being rude. I tossed the stuff back at her. And began exiting the store when she harassed my friend and I outside of the store. She called the cops and had us put on no trespass. My friend did nothing. I want to know why this employee refused service to a customer based on a initial civil complaint. Then why she was under the impresssion she could leave the register and building completely chasing us Down like sub human criminals. It was embarrassing. I have spent several hundreds of dollars at this store. As a corporation are you supporting discriminatory selling? If she is allowed to not sale to anyone based on her initial improfesionalism and discriminatory bias. Then what's to stop discriminatory hiring etc. I plan to socially boycott this location if this is not properly resolved. Sincerely James lee Dunn

Dollar General in Aspers was horrible. Not one person but Kelly greeted us and took us to what we needed. More people need to be like that. When she was checking out another person came up and told her to do this do that. She was like ok when I'm done. People had short brown hair. I believe she was the assist store manager. Always love seeing kelly
