Dollar General store hours/policy

My husband and I pulled into the parking lot at 9:55 on wednesday 05/10/18 at the dollat store
There were 2 cars in parking lot already and the inside lights were on in the store
We walk up to the front doors and they were already locked..
I told my husband to motion for the manager inside to just ask if we could grab a couple of quick items because my son whom is disabled needed last minute nessesities... And the next store is 29 miles away
On our cell phones it showed 9:55 while we were standing at the locked door..
The manager looked around the stacks of inventory that needed to be put on shelves for weeks now and with the ruddest face says 'we are closed' and turned around and walked off!
Now mind you there are two signs taped to the double doors that clearly state the open hours as
8-10 monday thru friday
Now i've worked in customer service and sales for 20 years and if I would of acted the way she acted I would of been fired by 10:01... If you post 10 as closing time then 10 should be closing time not a minute before.. False advertisement
Until this particular person showed up i've had nothing but pleasant experiences in this store
Everyone that was before her have been wonderful and i've seen both men and women employees there. This is something that needs to be addressed immediately because this is what will run customers that spend alot of money there off.

the two cars there belonged to the workers.. they don’t go by the time on your phone. they go by the time on the register. maybe you should’ve been stocked up already. or not wait until the last minute.

Dollar General service

In April of this year I was threatened by another customer that she was going to choke the life out of me over the belief that I had spent Benefit money for my disabled son inappropriately. Apparently one of your cashiers saw that I was spending money and has assumed that every purchase is made with that money and is telling the entire town that I misspend money. Normal family purchases like icecream and chips.
Your cashier did not call the cops another customer stepped in between to keep this crazy lady from attacking me. I had believed in small town spending before this occurance but have spent all of our money for items needed at stores in Fargo rather then spending them in Barnesville, MN.
I had asked my husband to speak to the cashier to find out who the lady was to press charges but she claims she doesn't know who the lady is.
I am now frightened to go into this store and avoid it despite being thirty miles from the closest store.

Dollar General employee

Lisa Willis who works at an Enterprise AL dollar general has not only been sending me but several other females threatening messages which I have screen shotted. I do not know this girl but she apparently has some issues. Comments like hunting me down and she's gonna kick my teeth in. I have never met this girl. I was bringing this to your attention bc if she is acting like this boldly on Facebook with other females as well I would hate to see how she treats your costumers. Luckily for me I live in another town and never visit the city this Looney lives in.

Dollar General Employee

Can someone please let this Angel girl know that I no longer work for her at dollar general. I am a customer now and for her to try to start something with me while I'm walking out the door after purchasing a pack of cigarettes' is really childish. This is the reason why I no longer work there. I went in the store after work to get something and over hear her and the manager talking crap about me because I don't sit and talk about nonsense and other people like they do. I'm sorry but Dollar general did not pay enough to put up with that crap and I am no longer employed there so I would "hope" you guys would do something about this problem now. As I'm going out the door she says "loudly"...ugh she never says anything and wonder's why we don't like her haaaaahaaahaaa in a messed up way...This is the same topic they where talking ill of me before about...among other nasty things so I hope you can see how your ridiculous employee is trying to instigate me because I'm no longer employed there and I don't have to say anything to anybody except what I need at the store. besides why would I want to speak to anyone that made working there miserable. ...and the next time she says something to this extent I am going to ask her why she doesn't say what ever it is she needs to say to my face! Why is she running to hurry up in there from her break so she can be the one checking me out. Seriously? ...You might want to also ask yourselves why someone that is a manager doesn't know how to add percent's? This is the whole reason she started acting ill towards me but I mean you should be able to do that as a manager. I was just trying to help her and show her how.

Anyway, In the meantime I will tell people not to go there. I will just pay 50 cents more for my cigarettes at family dollar. Where the people don't act like teenagers.
I really don't understand why people hire these type of people to work with customers and manage employees.

and if you are wondering why I went in there with her there...well she doesn't really work at this store by 15A. I don't go to her store over by Publix plaza because I don't have time for nonsense people and I will address her if she does t again ever. Just so you know because I should be able to go in the store and buy what I need without that nonsense. I mean seriously, my dramatic teenage daughter acts more mature than the people you guys hire.

Dollar General treats staff poorly

Former employee, I was hired as an assistant manager back in 2016 to a new store in East Bend, NC. As soon as I was hired the manager was promoted and began having to go to another store to try and get it back in order. I worked when schedule, never called in, worked at other stores when asked, worked doubles, and sometimes ended up by myself when others where no shows.

One day I was asked to go the store my manager had been working at to close because they had no one to do it. At the end of the shift, I was counting out the money, I was side tracked when another employee needed help because a customer was paying for her $22 dollar purchase with all change. When I was finished I went back to counting out my money in the office. The till came up $100 short. I since a text to the manager and informed them of everything so they could look over everything the next morning.

No one knows where that money went, they reviewed security cameras to make sure me nor the other employee had messed with the money while I had been assisting that customer. I continued to work my schedule at my store until a little over a week later they fired me, though my manager had said she didn't want to and she never got the chance to go over more things with me, but since it happened on my time and it was a large amount of money I of course had to be fired.

Fast forward, I was not happy with how they did that since I informed them of everything and did everything ever asked of me but I was also going back to school and finally have a career in front of me to start. It is for a sheriffs department, and I have to get my certification so everything is sent through Raleigh. Since I am so truthful, I of course wrote down my reason for no longer working at Dollar General but since I was fired the Sheriffs department has to have a letter on Dollar Generals letterhead explaining that nothing was due to basically stealing. I have a clean record as I have to also provide my background check too.

I called my former manager who said she has no letterhead, and told me I would have to go through corporate HR. So I have called them 5 times, being told they cannot provide what I need, being hung up on, telling me I can get it online which I cannot (I checked), and then the last time they told me they would have to have a subpoena.

This is the worst company ever. I have never had an issue with any former employee providing me with anything that I may need, and I have student loans now trying to finish my bachelors, and cannot begin my job until I have my paperwork done and Dollar General wants to keep giving me the run around. So instead of being decent and typing me up what I need on letterhead they would rather interfere with my career. Truly Pathetic.

Dollar General staff disrespectful

The manager at the flatrock Mi store is really nice and hard working. Her name is Brittany. She is in that store more the she seems to be home. She has a few staff members and is working as hard as she can to kee the store in good order. But her staff is always calling off not showi g up and the DM is treating her like trash. The old store manager is just as bad they have no respect for a girl who took over a trashed store with no staff. Now she has staff but there not trained and the DM is over daying its her foult that her satffs not rrady for what they csll inventory. The old manager is rude snobish and knew the store would fail so she left and took a stor that was brand new in taylor MI. This company needs to get its people in order. Then theres telling the employee's to choose there familys or there jobs. This is not right and i feel that this DM who be littles the managers on the sales floor should no longer be there.

Dollar General employee standards

Was in the dollar general on forest hills rd in wilson nc and the employee by the name of Angela was talking on her cell phone non-stop and was rude to customers. I have been in this store several times and have observed this behavior from the same individual. She also takes her time leaving the store after the store closes. Have observed her leaving anywhere from 11:30 to near midnight in some cases.

Dollar General manager needed

The Dollar General In Alba Texas store # 12379... This store needs a manager. the shelves are always empty with carts loaded down with boxes but yet employees never seem to get it put away. You cant get down isles because of boxes and carts loaded with boxes. Every time I go in with a list of 10 items, I am lucky if I get 2 or 3 items. You can never find anyone to help you, wait in line because employee's cant be found. The store really needs a manager that can actually manage a store. Does this store even have a manager, cause every time I ask for one, they aren't in. I m not usually someone that complains but this is really getting ridiculous, fairly new store yet looks like one that is many years old, junk everywhere not properly setup. I really hope you take this in to consideration and rally get a manager in this store that can actually handle it. I can tell you about at least 25 family members and friends and this is a small town, that have complained as well, when are you going to do something about it?

Dollar General manager at south beloit il store

I went there and ringed the service bell. A cashier said he would be right there and an came quickly but manager just standing there texting and he walked up she responded with next time f_ckin rush it. After i was done checking out he started walk back and she goes well writing your [censored] for this now...everytime i come in there she is order employee's around but with swearing. As she just sitting there on her phone. She is rude and now will not being going back to that store anymore and will be telling people, friends and family to not go i will post on Facebook i dont care if this one closes.

Dollar General cashier

While cashing out at store #00948 I had a heavy case of water and a 22 pound bah of cat food. The cashier refused to scan it with the hand scanner. She said it didn't weigh enough to use the hand scanner. I am disabled and I normally shop at this particular store for my convenience and ease of getting in and out of the store and convenience at the register. If this is the treatment that I will be receiving then I will shop elsewhere. I found it very unprofessional

Dollar General harassment

At 14:20 pm at Dollar General Store #16874. Harassment Mr as I came in the door. Walked in to get some hunts pasta chicken noodle soup razor blades to shave and nair for my girlfriend. Before I could get around to get all of my product I hear an announcement the store has cameras all over if you need help please ask. But I did ask the young man if he could pull some Campbell soup out the back he refused and walked away when I got to the register and girl at the front cashier register the one whom made the announcement when on a personal phone and stay on the phone while cashing me out. I just want to know why when I a black male walk in the store she had to make that embarrassing racist comments. I have been in South Jersey 45 years and haven't had a problems at Dollar General until now Please Respond Thank you Jerome Newsome

omfg. please don’t make this a race thing. a lot of dollar generals have announcements like that. and it was not from the cashier.. it was from iVerify. that is the security system DG uses. they have announcements like that from time to time. the phone could’ve been an HHT (hand held terminal) used for work purposes. you didn’t give much detail. and PLEASE DO NOT ASK FOR EMPLOYEES TO GO TO THE BACK TO GET YOU SOMETHING. if it’s not on the shelve it’s either out of stock. or it’s on the bottom of a rolltainer. you are being incredibly rude by turning this into a “racist” event due to your assumptions.

Dollar General conditions at the lindale ga store

Numerous occasions visiting the store. The associates are helpful and friendly, however the store is a wreck. They open after 8:00 a.m. while the parking lot fills up with customers waiting to shop. Upon opening, the floors are dirty, trash everywhere from the previous day. Isles are filled with carts of inventory. You can't shop those isles. Empty shelves.

Dollar General bad service

I was shopping at the Dollar general in English IN store #7909 I got everything thing that I needed the manger was in there so I went to put my things on the counter that she was working at . she looked right at me then just left the register just walked away so I had to pick up my purchases and go to another register .why did she do that she did not get called away she does not want to do her job . She is very rude when you ask her something the place is always dirty she has no manager skills Dollar general needs to hire a good manger that knows what they are doing At the store #7909 in English IN and why are all the prices higher there then any other store and how many complaints does people have to make before the place gets cleaned up have somebody clean the place please.

Dollar General employees attitudes

I have never been one to file complaints. I am tired of people having poor work ethic and bad attitudes. It is not all about service either. They have to many stacks and piles of product in the isles. You usually have to wait in line in the main isle where customers come in and out and move out of the way all the time. There are some people I don't want to be that close to. We have had to stand in line way too many times for way too long for one employee to check everyone out while the others stand around and talk. Then some have attitude when asked to open another register. I am tired of smiling and being nice so I told one of the young ladies that this is at least the 4th time we have had to stand in line while y'all stand around and talk and left my basket at the counter that was at least a $50 sale. In a small community it is hard to say I will not shop here anymore. But until this changes I will make other arrangements.

Dollar General phone card

The store number is #01350 i told the cashier it was the wrong phone card before i left she kept saying it was the right card after i tried it it didn't work ask can she exchange it for the right one after i called customer service to verify she give me the wrong card she still refuse to exchange the card after and before hand i told her it was the wrong card and then lied and said Ace Cash Advance buy phone cards back that's bad service i will never go back and im stuck without my money back and had to spend more when it was her fault in the first place never again will i shop there

Dollar General customer satisfaction

I was in your store the other day and I believe the number was 9626. It's always clean so that a plus and the amount and variety of products is usually better than the family dollar closest to me. I asked the lady cashier who I believe to be the manager where a product was located and she told me and it was there. So later on I'm walking through the store and I hear her say to another person, "yeah I know all these little tricks these kids try to pull. I don't know where she went but I thought I saw her over there." Being the only person in the store at the time who appeared to be around a teenagers age, I felt the comment was about me. I'm not a kid or thief nor do I appreciate her assumption of me. I used to work as a cashier so I know about theft and how to deal with it and that definitely wasn't it. Thw gentleman who rang me out was nice and always is. Its just always something silly with one of the lady employees.

Dollar General employees and cleanliness

Walked into the Effort PA store and before I entered I was extremely shocked that there were used condoms on the ground, oil cans, heroin needles, I mean what kind of corporate establishment doesn't clean this up! I feel bad for some of the remaining good staff that has been there it's not their responsibility to clean that up. Second off, the aisles were completely trashed, customers leaving their own personal trash all over, the store smelled like marijuana in every aisle, and this is ok for a store? Upon my checking out I couldn't believe the attitude that was being thrown around. Both women at the register had no smile I wasn't greeted, the one girl had black hair and glasses and dressed like she was about to go to a club and was more interested in what looked like your venders, I actually over heard her giving her number out to people, while the long line was building up. The woman who checked me out had a name tag I believe her name was Sharon, no smile, kept looking down, and we'll I thought upon hiring people cleanliness and person hygiene was valued. Well not here, because she had holes in her shirt, she smelled like animal urine and some strange odor from her mouth. I know where I won't be shopping anymore.

Dollar General the store

The store in whigham georgia is a disaster all the time. There are totes of stuff all around there are rolltainers throughout the store everyday of the week. The bathrooms are blocked by totes and pilled up crap. This store needs a manager that can keep the store in good shopping condition. The aisles are always a disaster and empty. There seems to be no organization and some of the workers seem to be trying really hard but it seems to never get any better.

Dollar General service

I always have to ask the cashiers to plz double bag if they are going to make bags heavy. 1 because I have R A 2 because the bags can n have broken! Also they put food products with soap shampoos dish washing liquid together. I went to this store as I do several times a month last night. And I was given a hard time about buying cigarettes but that's another story. I get home right at my front door one of my bags tears open and my jar of pickles broke all over my door way! I'm so angry I got a glass on my ankle not too mention no pickles!

Dollar General employee complaints

I have complained a couple times and talk to customer support many occasions a couple months ago I went into the store with a friend and I did not know that this friend had been 86 from the store so therefore intern I had been 86 from the store four reasons my friend was supposed to buy some toilet paper and so I grab the big pack of toilet paper walk out the door with it little that I know my friend 1186 so they start and they take him out of there and because I was with him I got 86 as well and then she did it because she is racist
