Dollar General pepsi 16 oz. plastic bottles

I purchased 2 - 6 packs of pepsi 16 oz plastic bottles on 4/22/16. The sticker on the shelf said $3.00. It did not say pepsi or mountain dew it just said $3.00. When I went to check out it rang up $3.50 each . When I told the young man that the sticker said $3.00 he said that was for Mountain Dew that they had been put in the wrong place. Every time you go into that store something is in the wrong place and you wind up paying a higher price. I told them they needed to get it together and put the right price on stuff and the smart ### said you don't have to buy them. This store is convenient for me and I spend $30 to $40 a week in there but I can go shop someplace else where they will appreciate my business.

Someone ought to teach this young man some manners and customer courtesy.

Dollar General arizona green tea

I have been going in to the store in Chapman, Kansas for the last 3 weeks, sometimes twice a week and they have not had any Arizona Green Tea on the shelf. I have asked several times and they just said that they didn't know if they we going to get it anymore. On April 20th, 2016 I asked a cashier about it and they took their scanner and it said they were suppose to get some in today. I stopped there about 4:20 PM Central time, none on the shelves and I asked the employee stocking the shelves if they got any in, and was told all the items they got in were on the cart that she was working from. There was none there. Are they not going to be selling this item anymore? No one that I have talked to at the store seems to know what is going on.

Dollar General dirty outside store

Store #8641,
Located in Nashville Mi. Zip code 49073.
This store has too much trash outside. things like cigarette butts everywhere, cardboard trash in lawn. broken glass. etc. My son is 7 years old and was going to use the outside trashcan, but there isn't one and i watched employees just pile trash up next to building. also watched them throw cigerate butts on ground. I wouldn't let my child go anywhere near that store without me. its a shame. Sometimes there are 4 girls working in there...I guess not one of them wants to clean the parking lot. YUCK

Dollar General customer service

I have just recently started buying some clothing for my grandchildren at your store. I purchased several items and the next day changed my mind about a couple of them so I returned them. The lady in charge, wendy, automatically said you can't have any refunds and then proceeded to ask me if I had my receipt which was in the bag. She didn't bother to check before saying it loud enough so everybody could hear her. My grand children live out of town so when they came one of the items were too small. I wanted to exchange one of the blouses I had purchased and this same lady did the exact same thing this time. I shop there because it is convenient to where I live but I am seriously thinking of not shopping there anymore because I think her behavior is very unprofessional and I don't like to be treated like this. I would appreciate it if someone could talk to her about this behavioral so it will stop.

Dollar General working there

I am a Key holder of a Dollar General in Illinois. I have been there for almost a year in June. Anytime I work there I get in trouble for the little things I don't get done instead of getting acknowledged for the things I accomplish. I have the most friendly customer service out of anyone that works there (I have been told numerous times this and that people only shop there when I am working). I have gotten written up multiple times for these little things I have done "wrong" while my manager can go take a smoke break every 30 minutes for about 15 minutes on her shift without getting in trouble at all. I went outside for 2 minutes to grab some carts because my cashier was busy on the register and I got told the next day that I was outside too long and got written up. It sucks working for someone who doesn't appreciate what you do for them and how much you try to help out. And it also sucks when its over little things I do wrong but I cant help it if there are always elderly needing my help grabbing things or looking for items. Its just depressing to work here... and I feel like I'm going to get fired soon over something that wasn't my fault.

I worked for Dollar General for 21 months. I was hired into an understaffed store and put on the register without training. I was given keys 3 days later. My manager retired after two months and my new manager wrote me up the first week for not doing my job properly. I told her I had no training and was basically winging it. She immediately got me the CBL's I needed started. It took me 6 months working in between floor duties to complete them. She and I had a great relationship and she told me repeatedly she could always rely on me. Then in January of this year, she retired. The new manager, a person who had worked in our store and moved on came back. She had started as a cashier and I recommended her for advancement. She had been an asst mgr in another store before coming back to us. She immediately started writing me up for everything she could think of . I resigned. Since then the store has been a revolving door of people. In two weeks I went from "your the best" to "your the worst". I wait for the day that I don't see her car there anymore. Karma will get her. A friend told me that there are 4 people to keep that store going from 8 to 10 7 days a week. It can't be done and the place is slipping downhill. I know one of the four wants to leave and that she is pulling the write up game on one of the others. Pretty soon it will be her and the asst mgr plus the cashier of the week. Total destruction of a store where we all worked so well together. Dollar General has a way of shooting itself in the foot by mistreating it's lower level people.

I Was an Assistant manager until today. and yes the little things are what the managers are pick on you about. i was so over it i just handed her the keys and left after i had an asthma attack because of her. this store manager has ran off several hard working people and thinks she is an angel. all i can say is she is two faced and only wants to work with people who kiss her a$$ and that's not me! i was there over a year, was told the highest i could get on my raise was .45 and i only got .25 and that was just the highest i would get. i hate being lied to! good luck to you all.

I recently got fired from DG and I was 1st key and one month away from my year mark and raise. Our store is so overstock and behind its hasn't been easy especially me cause I close at nights and have had all new cashiers for months cause they quit or get fired so I'm constantly tending to them or customers that I can't complete any task I have. There is so many nights I don't even get a break that I get held outta of my check each night. That being said I was wrote up back to back to cause my termination all on getting recovered and rolltainers done. But there are 3 people in which mostly there key carriers and managers in the day and stuff still isn't getting done so I felt we all should get the write ups and fired. I work non stop at night and so there fore I feel my write-ups and termination was for working my ### off to get everything I worked hard for to get to be tooken for something not in my control..

I'm not a key holder but I'm dealing with the same type of issue. I had to transfer to another store almost 3 months ago and I've already been with dg for almost 3 years. My mgr and assistant mgr are always telling me things I do wrong and not once has either of them said a positive word about me. Its really got me depressed because I love what I do but they're making me hate it. I'm kind of in a depression because they're taking away the 1 thing I know I'm good at! :-(

Dollar General unfair treatment

I have been working part time at a store since February after applying for jobs all over town for a year in order to pay for expenses and higher education. This is only my second job, my first one shutdown a month after I started. Other part time employee's are working 16-29 hours 3-5 days a week(two we're hired the same day as me), while I only work 4-5 or if I'm lucky 8 hours(1 time only) a week 1-2 days a week. The others have also competed their training but when it comes time for me to do mine, something goes wrong. The first time my birth date was wrong. The manager called the main office and told them I had just started last week. Even though I have worked on and off since February (I have had no permanent schedule since I started working). Second, the system was too slow. I was scheduled to work today but they canceled my schedule without reason along with next week too. The manager said it was computer problem but a family friend sent an email to the Dollar General Corporation asking if something could be done about my lack of hours(I was afraid I would lose my job if I did it) and she was told they would look into it and send her complaint to the appropriate person at the store, before I knew it my work for this week(I was only scheduled to work one day this week) and next week at been cancelled . In addition, no one else is being forced to take time off. Outsiders have told me that the store has racial discrimination and I was only hired so they would not look bad. Unfortunately, quitting is not an option because I need the money. Please advise me on what to do!

Dollar General cashier 8421

I went to the store to return something. The cashier wouldn't even look at me. She is a short colored lady with long black hair. I'm white. I said hi - and I ask her how she was doing ? No response. She acted like I wasn't even there. Sour looking face. Made me very uncomfortable. Never made eye contact. All she said was - do you have the card you used and it will be put back on your card. Sign here. Never made eye contact looking down the whole time. I was very pleasant and thought she just felt bad. As I was walking out she ask the colored lady that was behind me. Hi - how are you doing. - the exact words I had said to her ? Really she couldn't talk to this white lady but she could talk to the colored lady behind me. Racist - do you put up with that at your store ? I will be shopping at walmart from now on ! I don't need to be treated like that. I'm not a racist and expect to be treated just like everyone else! My return reference #[protected] time 9.41 on 2016-03-13. My cell phone # [protected] - afternoon is best time to call thank you for your time, laura carter

Where did it go? I've been buying it for years, first they made the packages smaller for the same price, now it has disappeared totally! Only 'Extra Butter' is available, I've looked in 8 stores in several states, notta. This popcorn tasted better than the rest, and was lower in calories. Bring it back please!

It was a RAZOR BLADE! Wth is a razor blade doing in a package of chocolate cookies?! Very disappointed & PISSED about this! What if my 4 year old had opened the pack instead of me?! I took pictures and will spread them to let everyone know about this! And its not the stores fault! It came from the manufacturer like this!

Dollar General store appearance

I have lodged a complaint about my local dollar general store at least 3 times in the last 3 years. It is in Morton Mississippi and has been an eye sore for many years. Today is the first time I have been there in over a year. It was worse than ever. Buggies strewn in the aisles, both full and empty. Trash and merchandize littered my path as I attempted to find some clover valley soup my husband prefers. The two "employees" that were there were complaining about what time they were getting off. If they worked for me they would not leave the store in that condition. It is appalling that your company is so unconcerned with public health and safety. It is a fire hazard to have ailes blocked by merchandize that needs to be put on the shelf and a health hazard to have open containers of food items sitting on the shelf as well as out date products. My next letter will be to the state board of health and the state fire marshall. Getting pictures of this problem will accompany my letter.
Never to shop there again!

Dollar General my manager

Last week I was informed to go say my goodbyes to my father in law who is dying of bladder cancer my manager told me I couldn't go were very short staffed and me and her are the other key holders! Well believe it or not this weekend her father in law is dying of cancer but she got to go this weekend and be with him! I could never treat someone this way! I have caught her in so many lies! I just don't understand why she would feel that she would have to lie to me about anything! I have proof on text message of her lying to me I have told our district manager who is on my side that if she doesn't stop acting this way I am done! I just need to know if it's against the law what my manager did

I feel that the manager is self-centered and selfish. She has no compassion for others which it is godly for us to have compassion one for another. I feel, as a manager she should have been reprimanded and possibly fired because she showed favoritism towards herself and not give you, the employee the consideration nor compassion that she placed upon herself. She should definitely not be in a position to manage nor supervise with that kind of attitude or behavior. I would have fired him/her. Period. I believe at the supervisory level you should be mature in your actions and work ethics not your personal attributes or thoughts but godliness and fairness. Even is he/she doesn't know God nor his ways, it's still not an excuse to behave and decide inhuman or thoughtless of another. His/her behavior shouldn't be tolerated at any level.

Dollar General manager named randy

I was in line behind a customer who was purchasing clothing items, she thought was on sale. The manager, Randy, came up to the register to clarify that the items she was purchasing was not on sale and was rude about it. The manager walked a away and the customer made a comment about how rude he was, and I agreed. The customer paid for her things and left. I saw Randy as I was walking out and he started to complain about the previous customer to the rest of us standing in line! Seriously? I asked if he was the manager, he said yes, and he started to explain about the previous issue. I told him I was not interested and went on to tell him how rude and VERY unprofessional he was to complain about a previous customer, as I am a customer! You really need to train your managers! I will not return to this store! What did he say about me after I walked out? Nope, poor business! I will go across the road to Family Dollar than deal with that crap. And it is not the first time I have caught him being rude to customers!

I don't shop at this store and by the sounds of it I don't care to.. But today at my DG store the cashier was being really rude to me and told me I never smile so she doesn't say anything to me when I cash out, And I mean says nothing like hello or have a nice day or your total is.. haha Last I knew she was a worker there and should be saying things to people no matter how they come in the store, And personally I am a nice person but seems every time I get this girl when I cash out she never says a word! Tell me why I should be going in and seeing her and smiling at her.. I think not! and for her to be arguing with me while checking me out is so wrong!

Dollar General employee treatment

My daughter is a GM at a Dollar General store in rural California. She works 16 hours a day, although she is only paid for 8. She is at her store 7 days a week because she cares about her store. Most managers are exempt employees because they have 24/7 responsibility. My daughter has that pride in her work, but fears she will be in trouble for putting in more hours than she is hourly paid for. To top it all off, she had sick children she needed to care for so called in, she is now afraid she will lose her job. On the days she called in sick, she still managed to show up to make sure the store was okay, showing up at 3 am and coming back at night. Now her regional manager has threatened her with termination due to those few sick calls. On Thanksgiving, we waited for our daughter to have dinner with us, she could not because her regional manager, Renee denied her approved her vacation the day before Thanksgiving. Not only did she work, she did not get paid for it because she would have been over in hours that week, 16 hours on Thanksgiving and no pay ! I am an administrative leader in healthcare and I cannot believe what these uneducated regional managers get away with at this Dollar General Company. What a poorly run company that would throw away dedicated hard working people because the superior is so insecure and power hungry! Retaining dedicated hard working, loyal and motivated people will save you money in the long run. Instead, you hire uneducated, insecure, toxic leaders to bully those who actually care about your company. What are you thinking?

They just don't care about their employees. I worked there for two weeks, lol. I asked, so after a year, what's the raise like. The reply was, a quarter! Well, they don't give any hours, so my raise after a year would be somewhere around 4.50 more a week. I just had to laugh at that. Here's the real slap in the face... They sponsor a NASCAR (#20), they have to pay 300-500k per race to have their name on that car. But they can't give their employees any more than a cute little quarter, lol. I hate Dollar General!

Dollar General treatment of workers and customer service

On January 30 2016, I was in dollar general store 13124 on MLK and I seen and heard the AM on the phone assuming it was the SM informing him that the MOD said she was going to close the store if she did not get a cashier before dark. I do not blame that MOD because she should not be in that store by herself and it was robbed recently plus it is in the wrong neighborhood to for anyone to be alone in it. This is not the first time this has occurred and she closed the store until she got another cashier in the store with her. You all are a big corporation and women should not never be in a dollar general store by themselves. I have never seen the SM in there by himself so why should his workers be any different. When the MOD asked another cashier to stay until the AM stated the store is already over in hours that is when the MOD said how is that when the week just started over. Why didn't the AM manager stay until another cashier came in. This company shows me you all do not care about your workers or the customers because if you did you would have had never left that women in there only or have your customers to wait in long lines because there is no one else to help her service the customers. There should be more workers at night then in the mornings anyways because most robberies occur in the evening or at night. What is one women doing in the store by herself anyways for several hours. I know it was several hours because I had someone to go back and check on her because I had to go to work myself. If something would have happen to that woman while she was by herself the word sorry would not be enough for her family. You all should think more about your workers and customers. This is just a bad business, work environment, and customer service and you all should do better.

Dollar General Chilli beans

I bought 4 cans of chilli at dollar general close to me. I open them and there are bacon bits in the can with the beans. I'm vegan. Whether they are real or not just the thought of them being in my chilli was too much. And the can had no label of them. I spent half an hour sifting through all 4 cans to get the bacon bits out.

Dollar General betty crocker

The Dollar General near me USED to have a fine product line of Clover Valley items. That is until a poor little (sour grapes) papa corporation got their greedy hooks into some entity of the Dollar General people or the Clover Valley people and forced those great products off the shelf in favor of the higher priced, lesser quality products pushed on consumers by the 'BIG' corporations. Now I get to look at the same items on the Dollar General shelves as is on the shelves of the big chain grocery stores. Sorry DG, but my trips to your stores have been reduced to 1 a month now as I no longer go grocery shopping at your chain because there is no longer incentive for me to come there to buy the products that I liked.

Dollar General unethical behavior/first day of work

I went in for my first day to start training as a PT/min wage cashier. The store is run by their AM, due to a brand new manager not yet starting. Before I even sit down, I notified the AM getting me registered of my recent schedule change. I am on my final semester of school and I almost wasn't able to go this semester. After getting hired, I pulled some strings to start a little later this month. Obviously, I want my degree first and foremost. Not thinking my part time school schedule would get in the way of a part time job, this woman becomes visibly angry at my 3 hours a week she would have to work around. She said "I need people who are available! This just changed everything, now I'm back to square one!" I'm unavailable 3 hours out of the entire week. I tried to explain my hours to her to which she interrupted me several times. I tried to be understanding with her overwhelming situation but to no avail. I was interrupted again. I tried to talk to her because my situation is unique I needed to know what to expect but she wasn't giving me anything but basically telling me to be quiet and finish the training. I expect a little more stability, respect, understanding, and encouragement on my academic/personal growth in a workplace. I felt so attacked that I felt I couldn't explain to my new employer why I needed to be a little more sure of my position, or to even figure out a possible solution. I tried to contact the district manager several times after I left without a warning. Finally, the DM returns my call and is rude to me saying she was already told of what happened and that she can't do anything about it now. I lost a job today because I walked out after I was guilt-tripped and attacked by this woman. I'm very sad they couldn't accommodate the situation and that I am actually back at "square one".
