Dollar General store cleanliness, cluttered, difficult to get around in, not to mention dangerous!

I was in the Ash Flat, Arkansas Dollar General on November 1, 2017. I understand that a delivery truck may have made a shipment that morning but that is no excuse for a store to be so cluttered and crowded with merchandise that customers cannot get around in the store. If you happen to use a shopping cart you might as well be prepared to leave it sitting at the end of an aisle if you need something on said aisle because there is no possible way you can get a shopping cart through. It is not like this just on shipment days. It is like this all the time. The aisles are so crowded with displays that if you brush by them they will fall over. But there is no other way around them. This is awful and dangerous. Someone is going to get seriously hurt someday. The cash register area is so stacked with items on display that a person only has a very small area to put their items on the counter. There is no reason for a store to be in this kind of condition. This looks bad on the store. I have heard so many complaints that all Dollar General stores are this way. I have been in several, as I do enjoy shopping at Dollar General and I have been in a few that I did enjoy shopping at. Plenty of room and no clutter, very neat, organized and clean. Not so at the Ash Flat, Arkansas store. I frequent this store often and it gets worse every time I shop there. The store manager seems to think that the Dollar General Corporation thinks that "her" store is wonderful. She is not a neat, clean, person. I don't mean to put anyone down in any way but she just always looks unkempt. They cannot keep employees there and every time I go shopping they are training a new employee because someone has quit. Maybe they are quitting because the manager and assistant manager are both rude and hard to work for. Maybe they don't like the fact that they have to work in such a cluttered and unorganized establishment. Until this issue is taken care of I will not be returning to any Dollar General store. This is a fairly small town and we also have a Wal-Mart and a new Dollar Tree recently opened so there are other options. I truly hope this issue can be resolved soon.

Dollar General customer service

I went to Dollar General located at 2137 Seneca st Buffalo Ny 14210. I am there severall times a week as it is right next to my house. I have got to know most of the workers there some are very pleasant. The others, not so much. There a few in particular, who give me and my children attitude and snobby looks everytime I am in there. The store is ALWAYS a mess, never stocked when the truck comes in, they are always out of items, because they are never working when I go in there, but rather outside smoking every 20 minutes in groups while one cashier named Sandy is always on register by herself. No one ever helps her cash customers out. They are too busy gossiping about eachother. Sam, one of the managers or key holders (not sure which title she has) never is helpful. I had to move a huge box out of my baby nieces way while Sam was standing right there, looks at me and walks away. Didnt ask me if I needed assistance, or helped me. Everytime I go in there, at least 5 aisles are filled so much with boxes unstocked items, garbage all over the place that I can never even push a cart through it. When I was in there tonight, Sam had nerve to say, "I dont know where these kids mothers were at that are making a mess in my store, I would of kicked my kids [censor]". She said it loud enough for me to hear it on purpose, and my kids didnt touch anything in that store as there were with me the whole time. and are well behaved children. That store is a mess everyday and she had no right to blame the mess in her store on customers kids. I felt horrible when I left that store because of the way I was treated with my children. This has been an ongoing problem and it needs to be fixed. Thank you. very much. Christina

Dollar General product selection

To whom it may concern,

With little money and time to spare on going to an alternative store, I ended up purchasing a pepperoni pizza from the 14702 Mercury Dr, Grand Haven, MI 49417 location. I have asked several employees multiple times in the last month if they would consider offering a cheese pizza option for vegetarians and have been met with responses such as 'I don't handle requests', 'I thought we stocked that item', and 'maybe we didn't sell enough to restock it', with absolutely no suggestion that they would find someone who could take the request into consideration. Cheese pizza is a very common item that I have never found out of stock at any other store that sells frozen pizza items. After a long day at work I just spent the last 15 minutes hand picking pieces of dead processed animal flesh off of my food and am pretty upset with the lack of interest your employees have expressed in offering a wider selection. With two freezers nearly full of 3 different types of meat pizzas, (not including the Supreme pizza which also has pepperoni), I'm disappointed that I am not able to find a simple cheese or strictly vegetable pizza option for days where I am limited on time and energy for cooking. I understand not wanting to stock an item that doesn't sell very well, but this is a new store and a very common item and I'm not sure how you expect to make sales if you don't sell the item for very long in the first place. The fact that my money just went to promoting the sale of meat, further proving that your sales should be invested in that item is what prompted me to reach out to your complaint line to express my frustration. If there is any way that you can begin to stock a wider vegetarian friendly selection of items, or at the very least a commonplace cheese pizza at this location it would be greatly appreciated and you will not have lost a frequent customer. The convenient location of your store is so far outweighed by the dismal service and selection.

Dollar General service and products

The last couple of times i have been in the store i was turned down from using my coupons that i was buying the products for and they little girl said if they want scan we cant take them well all the other stores do take them as long as you have the product for them and i have stood in line over 10 minutes with 1 person in the store and the other employee outside or them hiding in the office with off the clock employees .And noone can tell me why my app will not work and the answer i get is i dont know, well you would think the employees would be trained on how to fix what there customers need and This location isnt the friendliest store to go into its like its a burden to have to wait on you. I think to better your company they need training on helping there customer's and fixing your coupon problems alot of people rely on the coupons.

Dollar General horrible smell and dangerous.

I have been to dollar general twice this week and at the back by the red bulls there is an odd smell which makes it hard to breathe. I will not be shopping there until there is something done with the smell. The store is always crowded with boxes on top of boxes which is very dangerous. This store is not safe to buy food from. I was told that the freezers go bad and nothing is done. No one stocks the shelves.

I visited your store on 11/04/2017.

I am a frequent customer to Dollar General but I usually avoid this store because of the customer service. I have the Digital Coupons and I had clipped certain coupons to my account. Audrey is terrible with customer service in the first place, number one she does not know how to talk to customers. She always uses a loud voice. I know she gets several complaints from that. But anyway, I picked up the items you guys had on sale and was unable to use the DG digital coupons. Audrey didn't care and wouldn't help. She blamed it on DG poor computer system. I am very dissatisfied with DG. I'm sure you will get a lawsuit for False Advertisement. I have pictures of the Ad and posted prices in store and Audrey still would not accept my coupon. She is a terrible face for your company. One day you will realize this .. thanks

Dollar General dgcustomerfirst survey

My survey link states that the store # must start with a zero but my store starts with #1 it is a new store almost a yr old how can i use my reciepts for the survey i appreciate the surveys but need to beable to use my store #16411 i am not able to drive far so this store is very convient for me so i really want to know how to submit my reciepts any help would be greatly appreciated i do not have a computer just my smart phone am not very computer savy

Dollar General rude manager

The store manager of Dollar General In Rockingham, NC is so rude. He don't need to be a customer. I'm contacting to let you know when I went shopping in there about two weeks ago. I heard foul language and alot of chaos when I asked for help. My sister use to work here and recently got put off the schedule without any type of notice. She has been calling for the longest and no-one answer the store phone nor they cell phones. So, as I was shopping I heard a conversation on another aisle about Kariem Petty getting rid of a recent employee. Not knowing that I was on the aisle beside them. I wanted to tell him so you, "FOR YOU TO BE A STORE MANAGER, WHY ARE YOU TALKING TO A CUSTOMER ABOUT AN EMPLOYEE WHO U LET GO FOR NO REASON. THAT EMPLOYEE WAS NAMED DULISSA BLAND. SHE WAS VERY HARDWORKING. ALWAYS HAD A SMILE ON HER FACE WHEN ANYBODY WALKED IN. " NEED A BETTER STORE MANAGER AT STORE 3531. HIS ATTITUDE AND THE WAY HE TALKED ABOUT MY SISTER TO ANOTHER CUSTOMER IS NOT AND WILL NOT BE ACCEPTABLE. IM GONE SPEAK UP FOR MY SISTER ND HIS RUDENESS. I WILL NOT SHOP THEIR AGAIN. Dollar General coupons

Went to the Williamstown Ky, General Dollar. I had $15.00 in digital coupons. $4.00 was out of stock. When I checked out. only $1.00 was recognized by the cash register. I ask the manager why I didn't get the other coupons. She said there systems often doesn't recognize the digital coupons, that I needed to contact corporate, because there was nothing she could do about it. I submitted the required information to corporate and have yet to hear anything from them. I will never shop General Dollar again.

Dollar General manager/cashier rude due to coupons

I had my first coupon experience yesterday morning at the DG in Hazard KY Store# 02374 and I have to say, it discouraged me from couponing ever again. I went for the $5 off $30 Gain sale. As soon as I mentioned I had coupons, their attitude completely changed. They sighed, rolled their eyes... the manager literally glared at me the whole time. Most of my coupons were digital but I did have 3 paper coupons, 1 of them didn't scan so I politely asked if she could key it in manually. The manager snapped back "if it don't scan, it don't scan." As I was leaving, I heard them whisper how much they hated couponers. I was polite through the whole transaction despite them being so rude to me. It was the worst customer service I've EVER received.

Dollar General management

I went into the dollar general store of Appleton and the employees name was Telsa. My complaint is that she farts in coworkers face when they are knelt down stocking shelves. She has done this on numerous accounts and would love to see corrective action for this, whatever that may be. I love this store and would still want to continue shopping here but if this doesn't get resolved I will take my business elsewhere.

I was at the Appleton man store 17229 and the asst manager told customers and employees I have a crush on her and after that she follow me around the store and I fell uncomfortable when I go to the store . This happened in July of this year I would like to see this person gone soon thanks for Ur help

She may have a medical condition. Often times passing gas is not something someone can control. Additionally, unless it really bothers the other employees, management will not and should not intervene.

Dollar General clerk complaint

I've never been more dissatisfied with treatment in a retail store than I am right now. My spouse went to Dollar General tonight to buy some things with my daughter like she does three to four times a week at the same Reno Ohio, Dollar General. We pay by check, cash and debit card on a regular basis. The clerk whose name was Crystal tells my spouse she can't accept the check. The clerk behaved in a rude, childish manner, and had a bad attitude. She continues to complain to my spouse about what an inconvenience it was for her. My spouse calls me and I drive down with my 5 year old son which was not at all convenient, only to be told everything would have to be rang up again. After rescanning all of our items my spouse goes to the vehicle to put the items in her car. Then the clerk (Crystal) tells me the total is not correct. Then she says she has to make the total the same as it was on the check the first time they tried to run it through and evidently something wasn't rang up. She then grabs some bags of sunflower seeds and start scanning them to try to get the total back to the number that it was when they rang it up the first time. After scanning the sunflower seeds and putting them back on the store rack. At this time she tries to run the check again and claims that it will not work the total is still different she asked me to change the numbers on the check. She tries to run it again and it will not work because they voided it the first time, so I tell her give me the check I will pay with my debit card. After paying she cannot get a receipt to print out for me and we've been attempting to check out for 45 minutes. After another 10 minutes or so for not being able to print me out a receipt I finally said no than you and left the store without a receipt. At no time did anyone in my family become annoyed or return the rudeness that we were receiving from Crystal our Clerk. The rudeness and incompetence of Crystal was unnecessary and undeserved. I own & manage my own business and I wouldn't have many customers if I behaved in the manner my family was treated tonight. My family and myself are very disappointed in the treatment we received.

Dollar General employee mgmt /customer service

Myself and my spouse visited the dollar general location at 4650 Mansfield Rd in Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. While shopping and trying to check-out with the store manager, the asst. manager (elderly black man) interrupted stating he thought he advised my spouse to not come there to shop before. I then asked why would he tell him that because we both shop there frequently and he then implied he looked suspicious before as implying he was stealing. I advised him we both shop there frequently and would not dare steal. He is very disrespectful and talks to customers so rudely he must be either suspended for his continuous actions or terminated. I know he has had several complaints so therefore this must be handled immediately! Please contact myself thank you.

Dollar General the store staff

I went to the dollar general on 44th and Sunny lane in Oklahoma city, and so soon as me and my sister entered the store we went down one isle and there was this lady watching me and my sister so we kept on talking and she interrupt us and asked were we good so i say yes and as i was standing there she goes on to say don't get mad at me but my manger told me to watch you'll but I'm to tried I'm about to go home so i say have a good night she goes on to say cause i can't be watching everybody that steals so i say sorry mama but i don't steal so i start walking to the front and she just keeps on following me till i get to the cash register. So the cashier says whats going on i tell her that she excused us of stealing and we weren't she says yea that company policy. This is the second time i have been excused i have never stole anything i work hard for my money and i feel like that is harassment cause I'm black.

Dollar General service

I had poor customer service. The staff acted like they didn't want to be bothered. The store was dirty the shelf's were messed up. And I was over charged and Jhakiela Mitchell acted like it was a inconvenience for her to help me and give me my refund. I was very dissatisfied. She was very rude. She wouldn't even acknowledge me as I was talking. She had her back turned to me as I was talking to her.

Dollar General service

I went to DG earlier today with my nephew that is 5. He picked out a cap gun n a pack of caps got to register girl rings 6.05 I said I says a dollar on the rack. (It was about ten of them on the rack) she says very rudely well someone has put n wrong place. So I go back over n look to make sure I wasn't wrong it said a 1$. So I walked back over said would u come over here n look it says 1$. She says loudly n rudely I told u they n wring place. I said would u jus look she said I not doing nothing. So I told her I would like to speak to someone else n she said no I'm the manager on duty n I done told I and I not doing anything. I have never been treated that way I was getting very upset n then the manager that jus got off heard her from front of store n came back there n told her she needed to sell it to me for the price that's posted. I will probably never go back n there again n me n family visit that store at least three xs a week. I work for the public as well n would never speak to a customer the way she spoke to me. Dollar General management

I've been shopping at this daller general location for small time groceries like milk, eggs, water etc... and noticed that a male employee named Jordan taking many smoke breaks and avoiding the counter while the other employee works consistently and has a good worth ethnic during the night. Im more frustrated with the manager of the store I don't know who the store manager is but being a loyal customer I recommend better employee management and no acts of favoritism. I hope the district manager of this location takes notice.

Dollar General merchandise not received

Since my retirement I check my grocery receipts very carefully. Today, 11-3-17, I shopped at a DG that had just opened. So glad to have it in my neighborhood. In checking my groceries, I did not have the apple juice which is listed on my receipt. Also, the milk was much higher than the cost posted.
My son-in-law was returning an item so he took my receipt with him. The cashier said the price listed for milk was wrong but she returned the difference in price. However she said she put the juice in my cart. My SIL said it was the manager who checked me out. I lost out here. It was not put in my cart.

Dollar General discrimination

Good afternoon im Anthony Allen around 6:45pm my self my wife and my son arrived at dollar general located 4770 Hooper Rd, Baton Rouge, LA 70811 upon arrival my wife gets out to go inside so as I'm walking inside I can hear an employee and customer talking .overhearing the conversation as I walk through the door was about a stealing or trying to steal and credit cards so once me and my son makes it pass the register and employee later to be identified to be the manager says sir I reply yes mam and she says you have to leave the store and I ask what's the problem and she says she doesn't know but I'm going to still have to leave the store so I ask for what then she says there closed well it's only 6:50pm so I ask what it the problem she again say she doesn't know but I still have to leave by this time my wife hears and come out to see what's wrong so when she comes and I tell her she put me out she says they were talking about a African American with dread locks and a woman with credit card stealing .I am African American with dread locks and my wife is white American and I feel that the manager discriminated against me and put me out of her store as she says but couldn't give me and explanation as to why and it was just wrong I couldn't even get my son anything I told them I was doing a complaint my contact number is [protected] i will also be getting with my lawyer on this matter shouldnt no one be profiled and kick out a store without some kind of explanation so I will still be waiting on answers as to why me and my son where put out dollar general store 4770 Hooper road baton rouge la 70811

Dollar General purchase of flower and vegetable seeds

Today I bought 26 packs of seeds that were 2 for $1 and was charged $0.15 per pack, I also bought 4 packs of seeds that were 4 for $1 and paid $0.08 per pack on those. The seeds are on clearance at 90% off, I was charged $4.22 for the seeds. Because the seeds were 2 for $1, I should have been charged $0.10 for 13 which is $1.30 and 4 for $1 I have been charged $0.10 for those making the total $1.40.. I was charged $4.22 instead. I spoke to the cashier, that was very nice, but she didn't understand it and said they had been ringing them up the same way for two weeks, that's how it was put in the system. Please clarify this for me. I bought these same seeds earlier this year at regular price @ 2 for $1 and 4 for $1 and only paid $1 plus tax. I would like to be reimbursed for the other 16 seed packs I paid for. Thanks. Store # 06115
