Still suspended, no word or contact from anyone. I called erc as directed and specified that I had issues, concerns, and complaints with my dm about retaliation/discrimination and spent over an hour on the phone with the erc rep, who assured me that my report would get sent above him to a group that does the actual investigation and I would get a call from them within 48 hours. Called back today because I never got that call, and was told that the only thing that they do when an employee calls is email the dm and/or the rm. I informed the rep again that the issue was with the dm and I needed to speak with someone who actually would look out for the employee. (Not gonna happen) the rep suggested calling hirs, which I had done, they handle nothing of the sort. She then advised me she would forward the info to my rm, who I imagine will just call my dm, and the issues will go no furthur. She also said that my dm had until the end of business day on 6/29 to contact me in reguards to the suspension, to either let me know about the progress of the investigation on me, to bring me back, or to terminate me. I also called the alternative dispute hotline, who informed me that they couldn't do anything for me unless I was terminated. Also filed a complaint with the eeoc, who is doing a phone interview with me next week to "fact find" and see if I have a case. Today I spoke with the attourney that advised my husband, and he said again, that the "at will" statement that we all signed is basically protecting dollar general in every avenue. He also said to prove discrimination it has to be specifically against age, race, gender, or sexual harrassment.
I am so angry and frustrated that this company can continue to abuse its employees, and nothing is ever done to correct it! If anyone knows other people within the company or out, that I should contact, please let me know.

In responce to robertsmiythe: Who are you again? 1st: Wether I am brought back to staff is not the issue. The issue is wrong doing, and until it is done to you, don't assume that you know my situation. Read any of the posts on Dollar General? They are a company that treats its employees, and sometimes its customers horribly. If my District Manager is acting unethical, I should say or do nothing? Do you work? If so, if wrong doing is going on, do you just turn the other way like a coward?
As far as I know Princess's are taken care of, bills get paid for them, and they don't have to have a job. You chose the wrong person to insult, as I believe in standing for what is fair and right. Let me guess, you are a Dollar General Executive or Manager that thinks that you are safe? Thanks for your comment, but I believe that I asked for advice, not un-educated opinions.

I am a sales associate at DG and during my first month in the company, I was called a [censored] by the store manager. I was told by the assistant manager, brought it to the DM's attention, we had a meeting, NOT invovling the one who called me a [censored] and nothing happened after that. For about 4 months that is. We moved stores, we had a new one built about 1?4 mile down the road. During the 48 hour moving period, we had many people from different stores come and help out. I was on the heavy moving duty, so I was working with several men. As I was leaving one day, I heard the manager say to one of the men I was giving a ride to the other store with "Watch out, that ### is ###ing dirty". Thats no way to speak about ANY one. I had the two men that heard her say it, and the 3rd keyholder PLUS the assistant manager who heard it write a letter to corporate. We were to give these letters to our Dm who assured they would get to the proper hands and action would be taken. The following 3 weeks, my store manager (who was clearly clued in by the DM) cut my hours to 5 hours a week in a poor attempt to get me to quit, which didnt work. It is now 9 months later and nothing has happened as of yet.

Can anyone help? My sister, who is a little slow but very dedicated and hard working, has been working for DG for nearly 2 1/2 years. She went from 3rd key to assistant manager recently. She had a great evaluation and raise a few months ago. Now they have suspended her for questionable DLC's and are investigating? She has copies of each test she took and gave them to the DM. It has been over 2 weeks. No one has contacted her. She lives pay check to pay check.
She is so loyal to company. What should she do? Who should she call? concerned big sister in another state.

I've tried to go the same route you have, thru my SM, then calling the hotline. I finally got a piece of S*** lawyer who took me through 4 yrs of hell, cause he didn't want to do his job. Trust me, let the EEOC know about it, they are the ones who have been working on my case for the last year. So far they have done a fabulous job. Basically I was sexually harassed and I have proof that I sent to DG and they still deny it to this day. DG specifically states "They are lying" ! So whatever happens in the company that they do wrong, whether overworking and underpaying their employees or harassing or discriminating them; they do whatever they can to cover it up, act like it never happened and move on to other business.

I'm in the same situation you are in, I called on my DM and complained about her and the following 2 weeks, I was suspended, pending an investagation, for violence/profanity used at the workplace, no respond from the RM, who was suppose to call me back in 48hrs, had no kowledge that i was even being investagated until that day. Is there anybody I can contact so I can sue them for wrongful termination due to retalilation.

PLEASE FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISION AND/OR THE EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY COMMISSION - IT'S FREE. ALL EMPLOYEES HAVE RIGHTS AND YOU HAVE YOURS. THESE AGENCIES KEEP RECORDS OF THIS SORT OF BEHAVIORS BY COMPANIES AND IT'S PROBABLY THE ONLY WAY YOU WILL GET YOUR PROBLEM SOLVED. DOLLAR GENERAL WILL DO NOTHING NOR DOES IT CARE. IT IS A VERY POOR RUN ORGAIZATION.

making govt complaints, meetings with attorneys, postings on the internet, trust me, they have zero interest in bringing you back on staff. Ever.

Stop wasting everyone's time, in particular our government agencies who are strapped and overwhelmed right now as it is without having to deal with some princess who can't accept that their employment with Dollar General has come to an end.
