These people are BAD and neglectful breeders. More like a puppy mill. I would even go as far as saying animal cruelty. Bought a 5 yr old miniature dachshund (female). She was sold because she was no longer "useful". This poor dogs teeth were rotted out. The worst I've ever seen. Called the woman (Lisa Findore) the next day to complain, her response was "Well I just can't afford to take care of of these dogs health needs". We'll she shouldn't breed dogs if she cant afford to take care of them. She was told she would be reported. She begged for us to bring the dog back and she would refund our money and she would just take the dog to animal control and let them get rid of her. This is unacceptable! I am in the process of reporting this business and woman to as many organizations as possible. I'm having a difficult time finding the right people to complain to. She said she has a friend that does her inspections so apparently she hasn't been reported.

I don't care how clean her home or kennels are. The dog was clean, but she had severely decayed teeth. That is neglect. So don't down someone because they didn't "notice" the dogs teeth, the owner (breeder) should have noticed it also, perhaps she did but didn't care enough (or have enough money) to pay for the care of the dog in reference. Inspections mean nothing to me, especially if you know someone who works in animal control that does her inspections (that happens a lot). Also can someone tell me if it is normal for breeders to "debark" the dogs they breed?

I bought a puppy from Lisa Findore. I toured her kennels and was welcomed into her home. She is not neglectful of those dogs. I am particular...very. I did NOT find anything that screamed PUPPY MILL or ANIMAL ABUSE. Doxies' teeth typically aren't good. Last year I had to have several pulled and treated in both my dogs who are fed all natural, free range organic RAW. I have back issued, as does Lisa. She works hard for those dogs because she loved them. She feeds a decent food for a breeder (I just despise any kibble or canned food. I know what the industry puts into dog and cat food and my dogs will get a peanut butter sandwich before they get "dog food"). Lisa loves those dogs. She uses good quality products on her dogs (shampoos, sprays, etc). She's a responsible breeder.

The poster above is simply all out FLAMING and trying to incite a bunch of crap..

My only issue was that I paid a lot of money for my Isabella and Tan long haired pup in 2098 and I still don't have her papers or the papers to her breeding rights.

I bought a chocolate/tan dachshund from Lisa in 2004. My dachshund will be 9 years old this year 2013 in May. Lisa gave the dog her 1st shots with a health certificate. I'm not saying breeding dogs like this is right, but the dachshund I got from Lisa was in good health and had a great temperament compared to 2 dachshunds I got from local breeders in Florida. One dog I got ( not from Lisa) was 6 months old and was not use to human contact, we ended up having to find another home for the dog because you could not approach him. She does interact with her pups and makes them sociable. My 9 year old dachshund plays in the sand box with my daughter and allows sand to be thrown on her. Anytime you purchase a older dog, there could be health problems. Thanks Lisa for our 4 legged family member, we don't know what we re going to do when she is gone.

Just curious @ NEVERAGAIN54. So you are telling everyone that you bought 5 dogs and only 1 was good from this breeder? It sure seems to me if the first one wasn't up to par, then why buy a second? then a third? then a fourth? AND then EVEN a fifth? Why on earth would you continue to buy more dogs if you thought this breeder was a mill or her dogs were below whatever standard it is you have in your mind? If you bought 5 dogs, sounds to me like youre trying to start a breeding program yourself? Don't call anyone a "###"...afterall, youre the [censored] who bought not 1, not 2, not 3, or not even 4, but 5 dogs from that breeder...NOW WHO's THE ###? If the shoe fits, shove it!

I have bought several dogs from Lisa Findore and one of my problems is getting registration papers for my dogs.I have heard from many people having the same problem. I also know that Lisa has way to many dogs to care for at least 130 dogs which is to much for anyone.Lisa complains she is ill and just cant do all the work. Some times she has help but when she doesn't her kennel and dogs go to ###. I have just spayed one of the breeding females I bought from Lisa due to a bad back and my male also has the same problem so he is being replaced. My male also suffers from a skin disease and has cost me a fortune. I would never buy another dog from her she is a puppy mill so to all you people who support her you are all ###s who like puppy mills. Out of the 5 dogs i got from Lisa one is good.not to any of her help all the dogs I got where terrified as puppies it took months of work to bring them around.STOP SUPPORTING PUPPYMILLS PEOPLE GO TO THE POUND OR A REPUTABLE BREEDER GO TO THERE HOMES CHECK THEM OUT!

I brought a puppy from Lisa in 2010, who was absolutely beautiful but unfortunately had severe eye sight problems related to her unusual coat color (according to what the veterinarian explained me). Lisa took her back and found a loving home for this blind dog with her dentist. After that event, I was devastated, and Lisa offered me another beautiful Isabella colored puppy -Filippo- who now is already almost two years old. Filippo is a perfect dachshund, and after having four miniature dachshunds during my life, I do know their teeth problems, no mater how diligent you are. With Filippo, I actually brush and floss his teeth every day (yes, he allows me to do it!) and he eats the most expensive veterinarian food in the marked and has teeth cleaning treats on a daily basis, but tartar forms no mater what I do!
I commonly board Filippo with Lisa when I travel and he loves it! Lisa and her husband truly love dogs and I couldn't be happier knowing Filippo is having such good time under Lisa's care. Every time, as soon as he arrives into Lisa's property, he runs into her front door and immediately goes and plays with the rest of his friends, forgetting I'm there!
I personally have seeing Lisa's facility and she is a true professional.
I'd recommend Lisa Findore as a breeder. She is a hard working women with a good heart.

I have purchased two dachshunds from Lisa, one in 2005 and one in 2010. My mother has a dog from Lisa also. Our dogs were well socialized, well taken care of and Lisa was able to provide a long history for all of them. They are the most sweet and loving dogs we have ever owned. There is no one else I would purchase a dachshund from.

I bought an English bulldog puppy from Wonderbulldogs.com and our family could not be happier about our sweet little Annabelle. She arrived healthy, clean, and very comfy in her carrier--and she is absolutely beautiful! Our vet was very impressed with her health and excellent breed-standard conformation, which really impressed me due to my reticence in purchasing a puppy online. We fell in love with her as soon as we met her and have been spoiling her rotten ever since. Our own beloved English bulldog passed recently and the big hole in my heart has been softened by Annabelle's sweet disposition and unconditional love. I have her with me at all times (I've been working from home to get her acclimated) and she is an absolute joy. Thank you so much for your impressive attention to detail and constant communication regarding our newest family member. We will come back to www.wonderbulldogs.com for every future pet we bring home. ”"— Laura

I purchased a Dachshund from Findore Pups, Lisa Findore, and my puppy, Sookie, is wonderful. She is in excellent health and has been since the day she came to me. I checked Lisa's vet references before I purchased my puppy and they all said that she takes excellent care of her animals. I know that she holds the highest care for the breed. Not that I'm calling this complaint bogus, but I do not see Lisa letting a dog's health go unnoticed. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a Dachshund.

I bought an extreme piebald dachschund from Mrs. Lisa in September 2011. Lisa was very friendly and seemed very genuine in her love for the breed. The land they own is very nice and adequate for the amount of dogs. Our dog (Casper) is the most affectionate and tender hearted dachschund we have ever owned. He is a healthy, stocky little pup and we can tell he was always treated well. All of his shot records were available and given to us. He has been the perfect companion for my wife, Koda (our other Doxie) and myself. This is my personal experience.

Its true, little dogs get rotten teeth fast. Giving birth weakens calcium in the teeth in dogs and humans, plus some dogs are major chewers which also wears down the teeth.. unfortunate but true.

This is a false & frud statement as I have a Animal Establishment Permit issued from
St. Tammany Parish . Permit #[protected] issued 06/01/11. This permit is not only issued by an inspector but also a supervisor/manager as well. This is not done by USDA either it is done by the Department of Animal Services here is St.Tammany Parish.
I also have a copy of the last 10 years of vet records which is 3 inches thick showing dental cleaning that has been done on all my dogs .

Small dogs teeth can get dirty fast. The smaller the dog, the worse the problem. Some dogs do need their teeth cleaned at least once a year.

to klouisianna, I don't believe your statement as it was written b/c those are not the phases Lisa would use.
like how she is going to get rid of the dog, or begging u to bring the dog back. She would say bring the dog back & I refund you your $75.00 . END OF STATEMENT

Some breeders do debark their canines usually show people do but, the vocal cords may return I don't agree with de-barking, i use a shock collar or just show it 2 them as they know what it is and they get quiet afterwards. In training a canine not to bark you must have /use a distraction with them such as a flyswatter hitting the ground or a coin in a jar. In dachshunds newspaper is the worst thing u can use as they retailiate when u use it and makes matters worst.

When you feed a canine a dog food that has alot of vitamins, & oils in the dog food the canine tends to get their teeth dirty (so to speak) b/c Non corn dog foods contain alot of minerals & vitamins. Lisa has contributed to the improvement of the dachshund breed for 18 years both in rescue and placing her beloved animals. So if a elderly dog has bad teeth it's normally due to food not poor care of the adult. Placeing an adult in a home is the hardest thing to do their health mayb ok but if you are informed it shouldn't matter as THEY ARE OLDER & want just love, friendship and a couch to live the rest of their lives out. Below is an older momma that is being retired that i got from Lisa and this baby is AMAZING she can tell you when u have a headache, heart problems, gentle & loving. She will remain here as my COUCH POTATOE

I rescue animals and have worked with Lisa Findore. I explained to her that most rescue groups such as SPCA and Animal Control, St Tammany Animal rescue Team and other organizations do not adopt out animals to people with children under the age of 4. I also rescue small dogs and am well aware that small dogs have decaying teeth problems. Lisa has had her dogs teeth cleaned many times but they end up with problems within 6 months. I also know that she uses natural dog food such as 4 Health dog food. Lisa has been working with me on the rescue aspect and I know that she has many old animals and would not take them to animal control. She has worked with rescue groups in the past to place animals. I saw the dog in question on Monday of this week and the dog was shaking so bad from some kind of trauma. She has since settled down and seems happy being back in her home.

What does debark mean? Take the vocal cords out or something? There are some bark collars out there that are not too bad, the shock is weak. But there are some collars that will shock so bad, sparks can fly from the collar - no lie. Neighbors dogs had a collar like that. The dog was getting in the road, so, they used the collar, etc.

Hey Zachary S. - You have not been much fun for me lately. Any way.

Most organizations do not care as long as they get money from situation; maybe ASPCA but it is hard for them to do any thing right away.

Read up on the kennel clubs and also USDA commercial breeders - SAD situations. The "they" people at the top in the government do not even care.

I know Lisa & been to both her kennel and inside her home. How could you not notice any problems with this adult dachshund b4 you took it home

She has passed her INSPECTIONS & Has Her PERMIT, from ANIMAL CONTROL, THIS INSPECTION IS DONE 3X'S A YEAR, they are called pop-up inspections with not only a control officier, but a supervisor

Akc inspects her kennels at least once a year if not 2 times a year.

So your complaint is POLITICALLY INCORRECT

the AKC will be very interested in your story. your little dog has probably come to you because you could help him and the other dogs this 'breeder' has. take a stand. call the AKC and complain. take pictures and send it to them. they can pull their AKC license and, if they don't, then go public with it to the ASPCA. it continues because people allow it to continue. feel free to contact me as well to help you with the process or go to the AKC website for the phone number. they're very helpful in light of the many breeders that have been recently found to have too many dogs who have 'outlived' their usefulness. these folks are REQUIRED to be leaders in their industry in dog breeding AND care; hold them to it or they will continue to make a LOT of money on the backs of these animals who look to them for care and their quality of life! your choice!

Did you not bond with the dog, spend a half hour or so to make sure you're compatible? It's not like picking out a TV or a chair; they actually have personalities.

How would you possibly not notice rotting teeth and other health issues if you spent even two minutes comforting the dog and introducing yourself before loading her into your car so the experience doesn't terrify her even more than what she's already been through?

Sammy is absolutely right; adopt a dog from a shelter, save a life and choose from some of the most loving, loyal pets you could ever hope to meet.
