Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort / Poor Customer Service
My family stayed at this resort January 2009 for 7 nights. We loved everything about the resort except for the horrible experience we had at check-in. When we arrived, we were immediately given our room assignment. I requested a room closer to the pool and was told very rudely that I did not pay for the nicer room. I told her that I would be willing to pay more for the location convenience. I requested a room in the Martinique area. When that was not available I asked her if by chance one of the "pirate rooms" was available. I had called every three days for 1 month prior to our vacation to check if these rooms were available and was told to request those rooms at check-in by disney staff. She then told me that if I was complaining about the location of our 1st room I wouldn't like the location of the pirate rooms as they were farther away. I explained that I was not complaining, just expressing my preferences. She then told me to "stop complaining", the pool wasn't more than 5 minutes walk from the room she originally gave us. She left for a moment to another room and came right back and told me that the entire resort was full and I could take the room I was assigned or find another hotel. Not a very good beginning for a magical vacation.
