Disney Movie Club - unauthorized charge

I ordered the original offer of five movies for &1.99 which I paid for when I placed the order. I did recieve them which apparently is somewhat unusual. After getting those movies I canceled my subscription. Lo and behold, nearly two months after that, I was charged some thirty dollars for absolutely nothing. I have not gotten any further product. When I...

I am 53 years old and I have no desire to veiw kids movies.Someone needs to contact me asap or there will be crimnal charges filed. You have taken two unauthorized payments from my card the last being 11/05/09 i am requesting a full refund for each charge. Also how did you obtain my card number. I don`t have small children so I have no need for disney movies. This will be my final request, the next will be crimnal charges filed for fraud and/or wire fraud also unauthorized use of a credit card.

The Disney Movie Club (DMC) is committing a serious scam!
They intentionally lure you to join their membership for FREE, and get the first 4 movies at discount. But what they hide from you is that you have to buy their other movies at REGULAR price (over priced, of course) before you can get rid if it.
This is a generous business idea to reach into people’s wallets! I can not believe that Disney, with its reputation, would base its revenue on such a lame business.
Technically, yeah, DMC is doing nothing wrong. It makes up its own rules, and reach out for you. All you need to do is to fall into their trap. However, as many people have been complaining, this is a serious scam that can catch people out of their guard. Who would think that Disney would set up a trap like this?
I have cancelled the credit card I used to join the club. DMC didn’t spell out that they would store my credit card information. If everything about the membership itself stays on the edge of a crime, this definitely falls to the other side. All merchandise would ask for your permission to store your credit card information explicitly. But DMC does NOT!
Well, I think they have great lawyers so they can spell anything legal.
Anyway, this is the DMC. Shame On You!

Disney Movie Club no order received

I ordered my 4 movies at the discounted rate for the movie club and still have not received them and have had no luck with being able to contact a live person. Now, I have reviewed all the complaints on Disney and think that there should be something we can do to put a end to this. Because, I am a single mother barely making ends meat and thought I would just try this club out so I could get my 4 movies and only have to pay full price for 3 more. If I Disney tries to charge me, I am going to have to take further action.

Disney Movie Club contact number

OK, I have found a contact number. It is [protected]. When you call, just stay on the line. It will run you through what you need to start an account, then it will connect you to a real person. Just tell them that you want to cancel your subscription and there you go. When talking to them they told me that there is only two ways to cancel. One is by mail and the second is by telephone. For a future issue with a company, scroll through there "terms of use". Find their copyright infringement policy, because there is usually a number attached to a real person. Then just ask for a number to the company.

Disney Movie Club they are dishonest andi want cancelled

I have tried on numerous to cancel this membership, I figured when they sent three movies I did not order and had to pay to return they were a little on the shady side. That was just in the first month. I purchased the movies I had agreed to but they kept telling me I had two more. When I challenged them they threathen me with a law suit saying I would have to send them a 100 plus dollars. after me sending my paper recepts they finally got it down to one more in July. Just to get out of this mess I purchased one more. Guess what I got another card saying I still had one more to purchase. I refuse to buy another from a company that resorts to fraud to sell a movie that cost dollars more that I can get them at my local Walmart.

Scammed by DMC

DO NOT JOIN - I have been trying to cancel my membership and I'm being refused without buying 4 more movies. I joined the DMC for my 6 year old granddaughter. They cancelled the account after the original order was returned to them and 2 months had passed however they couldn't even tell my where the shipment went (after 4 calls and 5 hours on the phone). I cannot and never have been able to access their website (account not ready - and email already exists). They finally shipped the order again and in 2 more weeks, the movies were finally received but they still have not corrected their website issues and I'm not receiving the monthly selections by email or snail mail. I got so sick of trying to get them to do their jobs, I just wanted to cancel my membership as I don't have time to spend an hour or two every month on hold and never getting any results. So now they want me to send back the movies I ordered and gave to my granddaughter or buy 4 more to cancel. This company is scamming people and they can't even live up to their end of the agreement. Now I find out from other people they are sharing credit card information with other companies and scams.I can't even begin to tell you all the problems I have had with them and their answer is always "We're sorry for the issues but you can't cancel." This is not how Walt Disney did business and DMC should be very ashamed of the disservice and scamming they are supporting. Employees probably have to close their eyes and turn their backs when they receive their pay checks because they are aware of the dissatisfaction and scamming of people they support. THIS IS A TERRIBLE COMPANY, SAVE YOURSELF THE FRUSTRATION AND HEADACHES... Do not volunteer to be trapped and scammed by this company.

I am going through the same thing right now. I am livid! I just had a payment of $48.00 today and $42.00 was taken off the card instantly. I never signed up for a membership, nor did I ever order movies. I have now filed for a replacement card. But, that doesn't replace the amounts they have taken off my card already. Not to mention, this is my child support card, and my only source of income right now. THANKS DISNEY!

I ordered movies from you on 11/-6/09 and have not recieved them yet, but I have recieved the ones I ordered on 11/16/09. You also have sent me 2 sets of movies that I did not order. Also you have already billed my visa card for these movies. also I ordered the FREE gift boxes for 3 movies and you charged me for 2 of them. Normally I am very happy with your service but with this order I am extremely upset as these are Christmas gifts. I cannot call to give you my complaint because at this time I do not have a phone. Disney Movie Club unautherized charges

An account was opened on my credit card and movies were charged to it some of which never came to me. When I finally got someone on the phone and canceled everything and they took back the movies, (if you open the package there is a phone number on the invoice that works) then I notified my card company and had my account locked and number changed and now they have done it again on my new card. Disney is a huge company who claims to care but could care less. They need to be held responsable for this fraud.

I entered my granddaughter into the disney movie club and I have ordered many dvd's for her, but they keep sending her movies and charge it to my credit card that I do not authories. I'm trying to get in touch with customer service but I'm not getting anywhere with this. I finally got a number for customer service and I'm going to call them. You should have all the numbers listed so that if you can't get anywhere on the web you can at least contact them by phone, and speak to a real person. Very dissappointed.

Disney Movie Club wouldn, t cancel

They would'nt stop sending movies after I cancelled even though I had made my purchase commitment. I thought when my credit card expired that would stop them. It didn't, they must have played with dates until they guessed the new date. All the movies were returned but they won't credit my credit card, say I must buy more movies from them. Tried to find a way to let corporate Disney know what this club is doing to their good name but can't find a way to contact them. Maybe their name doesn't mean anything to them anymore.

I agree with the complaint. You apparently haven't dealt with this company, Lorelaig. My sister has been fighting this company for over 6 months now. She has cancelled every single order that has come in since her purchase commitment was met and they refuse to accept that. She has TALKED with them and they STILL don't stop. She even talked to her credit card company about it, which is now over the limit because they refuse to cancel. She has followed ALL of disney movie club's steps to cancel in THREE different ways and they will not cancel her membership. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET SWINDLED! They are RUINING Disney's name and it is NOT worth the dollar you paid to get this sort of harrassment. By the way, those 'points' you are supposed to get for the club don't apply to the initial movie purchase (buy 1 get 7 for $1), so you have to keep purchasing after that for the club to be any different than purchasing from a store...even then, the points don't add up to getting anything worth this hassle.

Disney Movie Club charged after cancellation

I had a "free" subscription to the disney movie club with a purchase of 3 dvd's for a great deal. I cancelled my membership months ago, before the free trail was up. However im still being billed monthly on my debit card, and recieving bills in the mail for movies I haven't ever ordered or recieved! I just keep getting bill after bill! I try to call the customer sercvice line but I can never get through to an operator! So I saw at the botom of the bill the website address to go to and it instructs right on the bill to click my account. There is no icon on the page for my account! I feel like disney has purposly set up this gimic to rip people off for as long as possible. I personally think there should be a class-act lawsuit againtst them. If there is ever one established I can be reached at a. [protected]@yahoo.

I have had the exact same problem. And the icing on the cake is that there should be no monthly charge. I had to have my bank issue me a new account and debit card number!

Disney Movie Club unauthorized transaction

I've had an unauthorized transaction on my debit card; the charge was for $39.90. I never authorized this transaction. Their customer service menu is a joke. It's impossible to speak to a "live person." Beware, everyone... I had joined another club on-line, and somehow, my credit card number was compromised.

I received an unauthorized charge on my account for $5.97. I never consciously ordered anything from DMC. However, I got the above number from one of the above posts [protected]), and I called it. It's impossible to get a human from that number, but the recording says to call another number if you have a rotary dial phone (which implies you get a human). So the recording tells you to call a 920 number. At first I thought it was a scam, but then I googled it and found out it's a Wisconsin number. The number where I FINALLY reached a human at was [protected]. I was connected to a call center, most likely in the Phillipines, and the girl was actually quite helpful. I told her I never signed up for anything, so she said she will process a credit on my account for $5.97, and she will send me a pre-paid label, so when I receive the movie shipment, I can slap the return label on it and send it back to them. So...we'll see if this actually does happen.

The same 39.90 was charged to my account without authorization from me, and it took money out of my electric bill money. The [protected] number is pathetic because you can't get a hold of anyone. It's just a stupid automated message. Right now I'm trying to cancel me membership because of the lack of customer service.

Disney Movie Club phone number issues

I too had issues finding the DMC phone number and then once I did find it, you never could get anyone on the phone. I, as I'm sure as well as all of you, did not have my membership number. As a result, you cannot get through to anyone. I finally figured it out, got someone on the phone, and cancelled my membership. Here are the numers:

If you have your membership number call: [protected]

If you do not have your membership number and are calling from the United States, call: [protected]

I hope this helps!

Thank you for the phone number. While I absolutely love Disneyland, I have found this movie club to be a scam and beyond frustrating. AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS! First you, they say you only have to make 5 purchases to fulfill your commitment. But if you read the fine print, only purchases above a certain amount count, and the only ones that are above that are the featured selections. So you're stuck until they finally have something you'd be remotely interested in. Since I don't have kids, it took quite awhile. If you opt for email notification they flood your email with spam. But if you don't opt, you'll inevitably receive movies you didn't want because the timing of their featured selections is not consistent. You can't set a reminder to "decline" because they have at least 14 offerings during the year. I've been overdrawn in my account twice because of that ###.

All in all, I STRONGLY RECOMMEND that you STAY AWAY from this Club if you haven't been sucked in already.

Thank you! Every time I have an issue with my order, which seems to occur an unneccessary amount of time, I am always searching throughout the hundreds of links on their website and have yet to find one that actually offers a customer service phone number. The closest thing I've discovered to getting questions answered is to submit an email and wait for a response. Not my idea of customer convenience.
In addition to order issues - not getting the correct movies, not getting any movies at all, or having account balances after paying - I also have problems with the lack of information they include under your account. Once you've made an order, they show you only movie titles and the date of the order, but no individual or total prices. I also no longer get confirmation emails when I make an order to alert me that they will process it or that it has been shipped.
I love Disney, but it seems that customer service is low on their priority list...

Disney Movie Club bad customer service/false charges

Disney Movie Club sends me my director's selections every month and charge my credit card, even though I DECLINED the selections! I refuse every package marked "return to sender"; they only offer store credit, won't credit my card... you'd think they don't want to waste their time and postage by mailing me something I didn't order.

They also take over a month to respond to email inquiries, very poor customer service!

I have has my share of problems with the company who has now taken me to collections, I called up to pay for three movies in full plus rush shipping since I was moving, I paid about $20.00 or so for the extra shipping for 3 movies, but I only received 1 movie for only $7.00 worth, then I called and complained, they said they did not know I wanted the movies all at once! I said why would I pay $20.00 for shipping on a $7.00 movie? So I told them to not send the others unless the shipping was free, they said they had already shipped to my new address and that I was going to be billed for the shipping because I did not call in time to talk about the situation. So now I refuse to pay their $10.00 for the shipping of their mistake, and they have taken me to collections. I have sent many letters back trying to contact managers and so forth but I get no response. So until they take off the $10.00 I do not owe then I will not pay for the rest of my bill that they were supposed to take on the first call. On that first call they said they would charge me for all three movies, they did not, they only charged for the one. Now I owe money for the other two movies. They will only get it when they take the shipping off for it!

Here are some steps to take- pass them along!
1. Send a complaint to the State agency that handles these complaints- Attorney General, etc. Send a copy of your complaint form to DMC as well, with a letter that you are attempting to resolve the situation and cancle the membership- cite the decpetiveness and misleading information, and the contact issues. Send these letters with confirmation of delivery from the USPS. THIS CONFIRMATION IS VERY IMPORTANT! This next step is the most important: DEMAND A COPY OF YOUR AGREEMENT. It must be in writing or dictated written form. The dictiation MUST be by a legally authorized individual (ie: court reporter) for the tape to be used as evidence.
2. Call the bank and tell them of the issue; ask to get a different card. If DMC does not have your information, then you cannot be charged. IF they attempt to push the charge by using the new card, then they are commiting larceny or theft and fraud. BE AWARE- your bank cards are usually only 4 numbers different, and a simple 40 line program can be made to scan through the number series in less than 30 seconds when trying to commit fraud.
3. Follow through with your complaints. This means documenting everything.
4. You will get a 'bad credit' letter from a collection agency. Send a copy of everything. DO NOT SEND ORIGIONALS! Dispute the charges and any bad listing on your credit. Save the letter from the debt collector- send a copy to the state agency.
5. Make an offer to settle for one movie, or offer to return the movies you got for immediate resolution of the issue. You must include the 'deceptive and misleading' portion of the complaints. YOU NEED TO BE REASONABLE. YOU GOT YOURSELF HERE. If they cannot produce the required documents, including the origional order, then you have a valid claim for sure.
6. Continue to dispute until they settle. Make noise. Lots of noise. Send copies of complaints to your lawmakers- state representatives, etc. THIS IS HOW LAWS CHANGE! I send a copy to the local news as well- this really brings bad press, and can shut a company down in less than a month. I will and have spent over $50 in mail to save and raise awareness of bad companies, and have activley lead to the termination of over $19, 000 in debt from various collections, etc because they violated the laws. (IL)
7. THE FOLLW THROUGH- We made reservations at Disney in Orlando, then called a month later to cancle based on the problems with the DMC. Less than 2 hours later, they called back and 'resolved' our complaint by canceling the last 3 movies, and even offering a free meal package at the resort.
8. This gets you additional copies of your credit report- take a copy of the complaint, and send them to the credit reporting agencies- make sure DMC is not there.

Happy hunting.

Apparently, you need to buy at least six (or five) movies before you can cancel your membership, which is impossibly expensive and [censor] up already. Honestly, all I can advise you to do is cancel the card they're billing you on. It works quicker and easier.

But now I just received another expensive DVD again without ever receiving the packet in advance. I'm going to call them up. Disney Movie Club movie returned

About six months ago I received a notice in my mail box stating I had a package. When I went to the counter to receive I asked the Postal Clerk if the package was from Disney Movie Club, giving her some other information as well. She said yes it seemed to be. So I asked her if she would write "Rejected" on the package and return it. I watched as she did as I requested and then left. I have since explained that I never received this movie, I contacted them last November about another issue and explained then that I never even touched this movie but had it returned. Now, they have turned me over to a collection agency for collection on an Item I never even received. I have tried very hard to get my credit score up and now they are destroying it over an item I never touched and there is no number you can call to try to resolve these problems unless you have a Disney Rewards Credit Card, which I don't have and never will. Stay away from this company unless you want heartache and headache, or unless you want to pay for movies every month for the rest of your life. By the way, they're movies are cheaper at wal-mart anyway.

There is No contact number on Disney Movie Club Website to cancel membership. I had to apply for a credit card just to be able to talk to a person. They gave me a direct number to Disney Move Club. Hope this helps whoever out : [protected] then ask to be connected to DMC.

It states pretty clearly in the terms of service when you sign up for the membership that the only way to cancel is in writing by sending a traditional letter. My frustration is that I've sent two (2) letters in the past 90 days and nothing back from DMC... I keep getting the email asking me if I want the feature of the month. I'm calling [protected] tomorrow!

Thanks guys! The [protected]-XXXX numbers only get you to their automated system there for yout to either accept or turn down your featured selection for the month. The only number that gives you a person to talk to who actually can and will help you is [protected]. The poor who had the misfrotune of taking my call took the brunt of my frustration with the company. She was VERY understanding and after I apologized for my frustrated rant and made it clear I wasn't upset with her but with Disney she went ahead and helped me out. I requested she pass on my displeasure with the company and how horrible it is that they do not have ANY contact information on their website. I doubt that will happen but one can hope. They are great so long as things don't go wrong. When they do it's a ### trying to find someone to addess the issue. I actually sent Customer service an email via their website and a week passed w/o any kind of reply.

I hope this info helps soemone else seeking to find a living person to help address thie issues.
