We're pretty sure that if DirecTV showed up wayyyy more often on ComplaintsBoard and paid more attention to reviews and complaints, it would lead to better results. But for now, the resolution rate doesn't show successful interaction with customers. DirecTV directv account

I am a new customer as of 5/15/2017. I have not been able to setup an online account to watch direct from my phones or manage my accounts. I have call to many times to count and either get redirected or disconnected. I went to att store foe the third time today and still have no resolution. I have to wait to be sent password in mail. The salesman at store where I signed up was suppose to set all this up when I purchased. Well needless to say that didn't happen correctly, I can not access my account and my name is wrong, had an email setup by store representative that I have no password for and security questions that I have no answers for to reset password. Had to have email that i have to have ro access account sent by regular mail and now i have to wait again for password to be sent via regular mail. So as you can image I'm very very upset with AT&T and directv I have had service for over a month and still to not have access to all I am being charged for, I am not patiently waiting for a response.

DirecTV 24 month price guarantee

I called direct tv for price quote and was given a 24 month price guarantee and was told it could be installed the same day which it was, days later I received a confirmation with 12 month guarantee after several attempts with customer service I have had no action taken by direct tv. Today I have been on the phone with them for almost 2 hrs, still nothing.

I accepted their offer for 24 months/60$ ALL INCLUSIVE charges and got slammed for anything and everything from a regional sports fee to a Protection Plan, to a set up charge for a Genie? Really? I buy their service and they charge me to set it up?

Direct TV/ AT&T scam... Let me tell you about the worst decision by switching to Direct TV to try to save money. What a HUGE mistake! First they lied to me about the package, price, offered me service that is not available in my area, spoke to 5 ghetto unprofessional people to confirm package which was not true, technician gets out here sloppy as hell looking, only installs TV not internet or phone as agreed, called back twice while tech was here only to be hung up on. Called back next morning to be put on hold for 20 mins and took 2 hours to get service cancelled. I would recommend this service to North Korea or my worst enemy! As much as I don't like Spectrum, they are still the best to choose from for cable and internet. Horrible experience!

DirecTV billing

Bill goes up every month. I call every month and they say they fixed it but it continues to go up. Not sure who to contact... seems they fix it afters 8 months. All I have asked for is that the bill stay the same each month however it changes every month. Supposed to be around $110.00... but has been as high as $184.00. I would like to cancel if possible without penalty and try another company

DirecTV customer service

On 6/8/2017, I called to cancel my service due to very poor customer service provided 2 days prior. I called and spoke with 2 reps during the total 55 minute phone call. At the end of my call, the rep offered me an upgrade to my current equipment as a "courtesy" because I've been with direct Tv since 2011 " this so called free offer then would require me to speak with another person to confirm the order. At this point the call is about locking me in a contract for another year. He began to speak rapidly and I heard contract so I said no stop never mind! I don't authorize receiving this equipment and he said sorry I can't cancel this order. I said I am not authorizing this at all. He said well sorry you can refuse the shipment. I became very angry and said sternly no how can you send me something I'm telling you I am not authorizing I don't want it! He would not offer any type of help or resolution. It was unbelievable I said I am canceling my service this is unacceptable. I have never experienced such poor customer service. I told him I'm going to report this to better business bureaus, consumer reports, the blogs, Facebook etc. the next day I received boxes n boxes of equipment that I didn't authorize I called and then spoke with a rep who was apologetic after hearing my story. We got up to a point she started to give me a confirmation number but we got disconnected. So I called back got a rep named Kimberly who has a horrible attitude she was rude and would not help when I asked her for the confirmation number. She completely ignored me as I said why are you being so rude to your customers!? You're not answering my questions and you're telling me that there is No confirmation number when the previous rep just had given me a number but we got cut off! At this point the level of disrespect she is showing to me is unreal she starts to crumble what sounds like paper in the phone and completely not answer me when I said hello hello are you there? I can hear you and she is breathing in the phone heavily as if she's angry
I could not believe what I was hearing that a customer service rep would exhibit this behavior and actually engage in a verbal fight with a customer. I said you really need to quit your job you're not qualified to work as a rep you're rude and unprofessional. She yelled you need to quit your job! I am laughing at this point and said give me your customer service ID and she wouldn't
I said make sure my account is cancelled and the return authorizations are sent to me for the equipment I'm going to report you. That was it for me. We switched to SPECTRUM

DirecTV direct tv and internet bundle service bought

When I switched to AT&T last December, I specifically asked what happens if I sign up and move to another location that doesn't offer all the same services? I was told by the agent my contract would be discontinued without penalty. I am moving on July 1st to Plant City. AT&T does not provide Internet in that area only Direct TV. I bought a bundle service and if I cannot have both I don't want just one service. I will have to pay 2 different companies including all the fees and taxes, which costs much more than paying for a bundle service. I was told today I would have to pay $361.00 in early termination fees. This is robbery and I was mislead back in December.

DirecTV bundle package

CenturyLink and direct tv bundle
Has anyone been billed by DirectTV for 2 months service on same bill? Have centuryLink and DirectTV bundle pack for 3 years. Have never missed a monthly payment. I am a female with stage 4 metastatic cancer, on disability fixed income. If you look at the cancer prognosis charts, only 4% chance of being alive next year. Just received bill two hundred six dollars higher than normal because it contained two months service on same bill. Have not missed a payment in past 3 years, so how could I be behind one month? My husband and I was on phone with CenturyLink and Direct Tv customer service 2.5 hours yesterday and myself another half hour today, all of which was a total waste of time without any resolution. By the way, the lady representing Direct TV doesn't have Direct TV because that service is not available in her country!

Seems like double billing is a frequent problem with direct tv bundle packages. Is it feasible to consider a employee is skimming money and/or they could have been hacked?

I have been bundled 3 years, never missed a payment, and just received a bill $527.84 which is $206 more than usual (charged 2 months service on one bill). Yesterday and today, I have spent total of 3 hours on phone, ping ponged back and forth between phone service and Direct tv, without any resolution.

Direct tv bundle
Could anyone explain to me why CenturyLink and Direct tv bundle package has billed me for 13 months service within a 12 month period? When I spoke with Direct TV billing rep; she admitted that there is no direct tv service in her country, which call center is located. Which country calender is Direct using to receive and extra month pay every year? Direct tv denies double billing, yet they lost a multimillion dollar lawsuit a few years ago for this practice.

DirecTV cable/direct tv

I have never had problems with my Direct TV where I was paying for a service that was messing up. I called this past weekend. The man tried to help, but the 771 code continues to come on the screen off and on. The representative told me his supervisor would call on Saturday. The supervisor never called to check. I called Monday because it is ridiculous to pay 96 dollars a month for cable that is being interrupted. The man said the only way to fix it would be to pay $99 for someone to come out, or pay 7 something a month for a fee to prevent me from having to pay the $ 99 dollars. I feel that if I'm paying and it is not my fault this should be fixed no cost! I am very frustrated. I have been a customer for years, but this may be my last. I thought this was a service that helped customers, but turns out that is a joke!

DirecTV billing

Greetings,

My name is Kareem Odukale and I have been a DirecTV customer since technically 2003. I love DirecTV and over the years I have easily paid $15, 000+ towards services.

I moved on May 19, 2017 and called DirecTV a few days prior to my move to transfer services. I had the pleasure of working with an Eva (rep #453491) that has been with DirecTV for 9 years. She was able to get my monthly bill down to $23.81 w/the choice package, complimentary NFL Ticket, $45 a month discount for being a long time customer, $35 a month discount for moving, Showtime & HBO free for 6 months and Cinemax free for 4 months.

I had found a nicer place to live and called back to change my installation date and address. I cannot remember whom I spoke with however, after 30 minutes or so they were able to confirm my future monthly bill at $23.81. I had an upgrade to wireless and spoke with Alex (rep # 164440) and Nguyen/Win/Winsor (rep # RMS003602) whom quoted my new monthly bill at #36.81.

Yesterday evening, June 5, 2017, Steven (rep #[protected]) called me and we spent 47 minutes speaking. Steven told me I have been, "misinformed" by previous reps and my actual new monthly bill is $89.80. Steven continued by stating that he, "believes me, " and repeatedly stated how sorry he is but the best he can do on my bill is $74.80 per month, which is totally unacceptable.

DirecTV should honor the monthly bill I have been promised which is $36.81. Additionally Steven promised me $5 off per month for the next year due to a billing error bringing my monthly charges through June 2018, to $31.81.

I did not go out and seek any of these discounts rather, DirecTV representatives offered them to me and now they are taking what they offered away. That does not seem reasonable, fair, or even ethical.

Please contact me immediately at [protected] prior to my escalating this matter to my local Better Business Bureau and the Texas Attorney General of Consumer affairs.

DirecTV faulty equipment

Direct Tv is absolutely awful. I have had Direct TV for almost 2 months and it still does not work. Every time we go to watch tv the box either cannot find the server, is "unavailable" or it says it is trying to connect. The receiver is so loud! We now replaced the receiver twice and have had workman come to the house 3x in the last 45 days. The problem still isn't fixed. The last repairman said that Direct Tv uses "cheap parts" and there is nothing he can do to fix the issue. I have spoken to customer service in total about 5 hours in the past 45 days. I get transferred around and have had 3 people say since I have had so many issues they will waive the cancellation fee of $460 so I can disconnect. Then I call to cancel the service and the customer service person says the last repairman wrote in the note "there are no issues" therefore I need to pay the $460. The last repairman completely lied! He is one that said Direct Tv uses cheap parts and he didn't even touch the receiver, remote or satellite. He was here for about 10 minutes and did ABSOLUTLY NOTHING to resolve these problems. As it stands I need to wait 24 hours to have a so called supervisor call me back and the Tv still does not work. It continues to say looking for the server. I never write reviews.

DirecTV kicking my 5lb service dog

I ordered directv your tech was rude & kicked my 5 week 4-4lb service puppy for no reason 4 times. Needless to say I wouldn't get your service. Your company has made no effort to make this right or contact me. I now have a call into The Columbian Newspaper in Vancouver, Washington. I promise you I will not let this go away. I'm posting it every where I can.

DirecTV billing department

When I initially signed up for the Direct TV and ATT combo service, it sounded like a good deal. I didn't know that they would charge my account an additional $200 to combine both accounts and retro the ATT services and change the services to a combo contract. After over 10 hours of dealing with Direct TV and ATT, I couldn't handle it anymore and just paid the $200 because I really liked my ATT service and didn't want to lose it because of DTV.

After one year of DTV, I called to cancel the service completely. I spoke with the representative and answered a series of questions and they determined that the cancellation fees could be waived because the place I was moving to wasn't DTV capable. They also said they would send me my recovery kits so I can return their equipment.

I CALLED them back 8 days later because I didn't get the kits and they told me I had 21 days to return so I didn't want to miss the deadline. I found out that the kit was sent to the wrong address and I also found out that the representative from the previous phone call did not note the system and that I was going to be billed the cancellation fee.

After one hour and three reps later (including a billing department supervisor), they told me that they lost the notes from the previous call (which was about an hour long) and that they would have to send a tech out to verify that the address was not DTV capable. I told her that I already dealt with the same issue in the previous call (I provided the date and time and the Agent ID # and name of the rep - I took notes and made sure because of my initial dealings a year ago) and still they said they lost the notes and that I had to pay the fee. They said I could fill out a form and mail or fax it to dispute. I told them that it has taken me 2 hours to resolve the issue with multiple reps and NOTHING WAS RESOLVED. THE SUPERVISOR THEN SAID SHE WOULD TRANSFER ME TO ANOTHER REP TO SET UP AN APPT! I lost it and hung up on them. DIRECT TV CUSTOMER SERVICE AND BILLING IS H O R R I B L E. DO NOT SIGN UP. IT IS NOT WORTH!

DirecTV moving is easy with directv??? 1 of 4

Dear Mr. Michael White CEO of Direct TV

My name is Andrea Alvarez [protected]). In May of 2016 we put our service on hold cause we were moving from FL to NY. I told DT that the house in NY was not finished and that I would call when it was to resume the account. On several occasions they tried to send someone out to turn one the equipment and I had to tell them again that the house was not ready. After a couple of months they told me that we owed money cause they did not put the account on hold? We worked that out however the house was not done until January of 2017 and the 6 month suspension was starting up again automatically, but thats when we actually called to schedule the hookup at the new house. Since Jim and I were working we had our daughter Amber wait for the technician. When he arrive he told Amber the boxes we brought up from FL were obsolete and that he was putting a new box in. The old box was right there and he didn't take it? We then were told we still owed money on the old account and we had to explain the whole thing over again. Apparently at that point instead of resuming the old account which they did, but the actually also started a new account in Ambers name cause when I called to add a TV to the bedroom they told me I couldn't do it cause I wasn't on the account that the account was only in Ambers name? Amber was visiting at the time and lives in Hawaii in a remote area where cell service is really hard to connect with. To even talk to someone at DT, I had to wait until she called us to ask her to call them and put it in out name again! At that point it did not dawn on me that you guys started the old account and a new account cause we weren't getting a bill from the old account it was still going to the FL address where we haven't lived since May 2016! Now Im told we owe $ $477.00 on the old account? And you don't turn off the service when someone hasn't pay for that long a time? So you can tell me you are going to send it to collection and ruin my credit if we don't pay? Why wouldn't you turn it off or call us directly?

I do not feel this is our fault. I only want an extra TV in out bedroom IN NY! If you check out account you will see we have always paid our bill and never had a problem until now. I have called many many times about this situation and got hung up on more than half the time and had to call back again sometimes I was on the phone for hours! Check the audio tape! We want to stay with Direct TV however this is very very stressful and we really would appreciate it if you could please fix the problem (turn off the old account $0). I can not be calling over an over anymore about this situation cause every time someone different comes on the line I have to explain it and they don't fix the problem anyway.

DirecTV customer service

I have called, written, chatted, etc. and nothing has gotten fixed and I haven't received any answers. First, the actual programming is good, I liked being able to watch the tv in a variety of rooms. I don't like many things about your company. First, I want my contract broke. When you as a company don't do your part you have broken the contract, this is why I haven't paid my bill. I have 2 of the 4 letters in front of me. I was originally told I wasn't going to have to pay installment, I paid $105.93. Your company installed the product after a date of the sales order, so that was a mess. I am being charged for more tv's than I have in my house. That has been happening since the beginning! I have called about this. I was told I would receive a response back. I didn't get a phone call. I wrote 4 letters, didn't get responses back. I chatted with someone on line. They looked into, I was reimbursed a few dollars, no answer. I haven't paid my bill, which is against my grain. No one has even asked why. Your customer service has been the worst I have ever experienced. I have asked for 2 months to be disconnected due to the mess.

DirecTV fees

We cancelled when they never once gave us the agreed on price - even though it shows right in their records they offered it to us and said it was guarrenteed for two years. They even have our talk on tape, but they won't listen to it.

Now they want to charge us an additional $250 to cancel!?!

DirecTV tv service

Add my name to the list of unsatisfied customers. I canceled due to rate increase on my bill and was contacted by the back office with a "special offer" to continue my service, which the company doesn't seem to want to honor. Was offered free movies for three months, $200 visa gift card, no equipment fee. Etc. it's very frustrating every time you have to deal with them you go through customer service all over again and start from the beginning. Today's conversation and the supervisor he told me there was never any offer of those things and all they are giving me as a $24 a month discount. Also, cancellation will cost me well over $200. Funny how there are no notes on my account to back up what they promised me. I will be contacting the FTC and BBB.

DirecTV continuous calls, offer letters and postcards

I cancelled my directv the first of sept. 1st. When I spoke to the representative in cancellation call, I asked her to put in the account information not to contact me trying to get my business. I told her that I have firestick now and I get all channels available as well as hbo, showtime, cinemax and stars free. I get more channels, as well as channels from different countries and all seasons available. I can watch movies that haven't hit the theater, or are currently playing. She assured me she could note the account to not market me. I generally block calls from numbers I don't recognize. Once in awhile I will answer just so I can once again beg them to take me off a call list. I always am told I won't get anymore calls, and yet they continue. The mailers with all kinds of offers. I am sick and tired of it. I totally feel harassed.

DirecTV directtv/at&t

I received an email on march 9, 2007 that my recent order was cancelled. I immediately called customer service because I did not make that request and no one ever showed up to install my services as previously set. Customer service had a hard time finding my original order but once it was found I received a full refund for the installation and a new installation date was set once my card was charged for the services I previously ordered. My services were finally installed in late march early april and I was able to keep the ultimate bundle deal (All included) locked for 24 months. Directv for $80.00n per month and phone/internet for $30.00 per month. The total combined and also confirmed the day of installation was 130.00 plus tax every month. Needless to say that is not what i'm being charged monthly, the internet keeps going up every month and my bills have yet to be combined. I did not receive a directv bill for the first month so when I called customer service they confirmed the bill was not sent out and I was charged late fees! Unfair practice and I was not granted a refund. It took a couple of months before I was able to get online successfully to view my actual bills. At&t and directv was not combined as stated and it's still separate after being told multiple times it takes a couple bill cycles to combine. I'm unsatisfied with the services and the treatment of my previous complaints. No one in the service department can explain why my bill increases every month. I'm just being told it will go back to normal next month. Unacceptable! The billing, online services and customer service have been a complete headache. Please look into this matter as soon as possible or i'll be forced to hand matters over to a lawyer. Thank you in advance!

DirecTV horrible service! directv is the worst company to deal with!

We started to lose signal very often and then contacted DirecTV and they promised to send a technician to our place but no one ever arrived! We contacted them many times and every time they said that someone will come and check what was the matter. First they promised that someone will come on Monday, then they said Friday, then was another empty promise.
We are very angry and disappointed with and will find a better company to deal with. These people from DirecTV they simply don't care and all they need is money. We are taking our business somewhere else where we will be treated with respect!

I also had a horrible experience with Direct TV. I was given a two year contract with Direct TV and joined in December 2015. I had been paying by check and even paid for four months in advance of service each time I paid (every 4 months). In December 2016 my bill went from $78 monthly to $119 monthly without any notification. I had already paid in advance in December 2016 for the next four months until April 15 2017 for $78 monthly as contracted. The illegal increase (for no change in service) consumed the amount I had paid in advance in my account unbeknownst to me. On April 1 2017 I sent in another 4 month service with what I thought was paying for $78 monthly. On April 6 my services were turned off and the message one the TV told me to call and pay my bill. The amount of $298.40 had been removed from my checking account on April 5 but Direct TV could not find the money and my payment had not been credited to my account. Eleven days after I had submitted the check the money was still not credited to my account. I was told by customer service to cancel the check and submit the payment by credit card. All the while my service had been disconnected by Direct TV since April 6. I was then charged $5 per phone call to customer service and charged for my equipment! I opened a case with the Federal Trade Commission. I was told by someone in customer service that they didn't care who I contacted! Wow. This company is an off shore company with no real corporate office in the United States. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY EVER.
