Direct Buy / pyramid scheme

1 Warwick, RI, United States Review updated:

Direct Buy is nothing but a pyramid scheme. When someone joins, the person who made the original phone call gets a commission, the person who invites you to an "open house" (which is like a high-pressured time share deal) gets a commission, the person who sells the membership also gets a big commission. They don't tell you about the fees (shipping & handling), you still have to pay taxes and delivery unless you have the truck to pick up the merchandise.

In the meantime, you can shop the sales at retail stores and save your time and money!!!

Sure, you have to pay shipping but you'll save thousands of dollars. Raymond & Flanigan furniture sells a 4 or 5 piece children's bedroom set for $7, 000 made by a popular manufacturer. We purchased the same set, plus 5 additional pieces that you can get from no furniture store, but only by using the catalog for only $5, 000, including shipping, handling, taxes, etc. When asked about the additional pieces, Raymond and Flanigan quoted us a price over $20, 000 and said that's a great set. What doesn't work for you, works for everyone else. I can't tell you about the savings because you are busy paying the 60 to 70% margins.
