Direc TV - HD TV / bad service, deceptive business practices

Ordered HD TV from direct tv they sent incompetent installer who could not install hd tv after 4 hours he left called Direct tv to complain was hung up on 4 times then they said at least he was on time. Would reschedule in about 2 weeks they did not care about customer satisfaction and told me this is the real world said a manager on the phone. Told me if you drop the service i would still have to pay the cancellation fee which was equal to full length of contract.

    DirecTV is a big rip off! They bill you for amounts far higher than what was agreed to at signup and their customer service is a joke. Check out for more complaints and stories about their deceptive, fraudulent and unfair practices. When it comes to DirecTV buyer beware. What you see advertised is not what you will get from this company.

    I have had the worst customer service ever from direct tv. after being solicited by them at an agreed price for particular channels i asked about and even wanting to bundle their offer with qwest.............I was RIPPED OFF. They said i would get channels i did'nt. they quoted wrong price for service. irang up and extra 100 dollar cell phone bill being put on hold by customer service peaople who have no idea what they are doing. Some times being on hold for 40 minutes befor the call is dropped and then after 8 days of hell I cancel and they bill me 370.00 . and this is after asking if there are any charges for cancelling and being told no. Direct TV SUCKS. THEY SHOULD BE FULLY INVESTIGATED AND SUED FOR MILLIONS TO SHUT THEM DOWN.

    I have directv and they are dumb as f*ck. They promise local channels yet they dont come in. I call them and i get some asian b1tch. I have no problems with asians just when i have to deal with them as customer service reps because i DO NOT F*CKING UNDERSTAND THEIR ACCENT. Get the insurance on your receiver and purposely break it in a discreet sort of way. Demand they fix it and refuse to pay while you have no service,even if it comes to going to court and if it does sue them for not fullfilling their contractual obligations of providing you service. They cannot bill you if you're not getting service. Just keep repeating until they let you cancel or until the world ends. Whichever comes first.

    Don't follow Jesse Osborne's idea of breaking equipment. That's just plain ###ed. I'll go with the whole "stick to your guns" routine, but no reason to blatantly be a ###. Stop sitting around waiting for it to happen, call them every week if you're told they'll get back to you. Don't expect them to call you, they'll do what they do but they're just not going to follow it up with a call to you. The truth is they got too many accounts in front of them. It's more effective for them to let you call them. That's truth for you, if you don't like it .. it doesn't matter. Just do a followup call and get it over with. Don't let the anger get to you, letting it seep out in the phone call doesn't do you any favors. If you absolutely must, have a friend sit next to you to do all the talking... if you really can't handle making the call without becoming crazy on the phone. Remember, you're talking to a real person and they don't deserve an insane person on the phone yelling at them. Come on, you want results not more wasted time. If they promised to call you, they probably tried to. Once. Give them a break for that, because if they call you and it turns into a 'supervisor' call then it looks like they were calling you to give you a hard time. Again, better you call them and it doesn't appear that they're calling you yet again to give you bad news and upset you. If this upsets you, get over it. Otherwise, how are you gonna get what you want.
