Is Digital Outlets legit?

Our verdict: Complaints Board's thorough examination reveals Digital Outlets as a legitimate entity with notable strengths. Despite a 11% resolution rate on customer complaints, which invites a closer look, Digital Outlets stands out for its commitment to quality and security. Clients considering Digital Outlets should delve into its customer service record to gauge compatibility with their expectations.

Digital Outlets earns 91% level of Trustworthiness

Perfect Trust Endorsement: Digital Outlets achives 91% ligitmacy per Complaints Board. Highly recommended, yet always stay vigilant.

Digitaloutlets.net has been deemed safe to visit, as it is protected by a cloud-based cybersecurity solution that uses the Domain Name System (DNS) to help protect networks from online threats.

Digitaloutlets.net you are considering visiting, which is associated with Digital Outlets, is very old. Longevity often suggests that a website has consistently provided valuable content, products, or services over the years and has maintained a stable user base and a sustained online presence. This could be an indication of a very positive reputation.

However ComplaintsBoard has detected that:

  • While Digital Outlets has a high level of trust, our investigation has revealed that the company's complaint resolution process is inadequate and ineffective. As a result, only 11% of 17 complaints are resolved. The support team may have poor customer service skills, lack of training, or not be well-equipped to handle customer complaints.
  • Digitaloutlets.net has relatively low traffic compared to other websites, it could be due to a niche focus, but could also indicate a potential lack of traffic and popularity. The digitaloutlets.net may offer a niche product or service that is only of interest to a smaller audience.
  • Digital Outlets protects their ownership data, a common and legal practice. However, from our perspective, this lack of transparency can impede trust and accountability, which are essential for establishing a credible and respected business entity.

Digital Outlets seems like a scam

I've purchased a camera from this website DigitalOutlets and it was quite an expensive one. But their site seemed trustworthy so I decided to give it a try. Too bad I did not see all these reviews otherwise I would never order from them. It seems like this is a scam company. Well, I bought my camera back in April and haven't received it yet and I doubt that I ever will. I did not get any confirmations or a tracking number and can't contact these guys. Recently I went to their website and there's nothing there. Perhaps they are reworking their website or maybe they're closed, I don't know, but I want to get a refund and have no idea how to do that! I'm so disappointed and frustrated!

Digital Outlets Did not receive Camera, lens order not correct.

I ordered a camera, and a lens from this company in April of this year. I received the lens which was advertised as an EF lens, but instead I received an EFS lens. I never did receive the Mark 3 5d camera that I ordered for $1399. The money was supposed to be refunded in 15 business days, and it has been well over that. I will not be purchasing anything from this company again. Advise to stick with only well-known retailers. The phone number for this company is out of Avalon, California however, the payments are being processed out of New York of which the company is apparently based out of. They also do not have an address.

Digital Outlets Useless rep! very bad communication experience and still no order!

Ordered a camera from these thieves in late January and never received it. When I placed my order their site showed that my camera was in stock and several days after I paid I received a message from DigitalOutlets saying that my order was shipped. Waited weeks and decided t contact them to see what was going on and why it took so long. The rep was terrible and very rude! He said that my camera was no longer in stock. I told him that I received a confirmation message from them and that when I ordered it was in stock. All he said was ok. I asked him to check on my order and he said no and that he has no access to that kind of information. I asked him then who can tell me something and he told that he does not know. Are you kidding me? Still waiting for my camera!

Digital Outlets Nikon Normal AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.4D Autofocus Lens

I'm normally cautious about buying from NY camera stores and check addresses before I order. However, after checking the only phone number I could find for DigitalOutlet.net (310 area code is in LA) I went ahead and ordered a lens from this crew for which they went ahead and charged my credit card a few days later. When it didn't turn up after a few days I gave them a call. They said that they had been trying to email me and needed "confirmation" of the order. Since there was no email anywhere on the server, including the spam, the only way emails could have been blocked would be if they were trying to spoof their address. In any case, I was told the lens should be there two days later. Of course it never turned up. So a week later I phoned again and was given the exact same story, except an email (to an alternate address) would be sent with the tracking info. Neither the lens nor the email turned up. Once again I call back. The guy on the phone, who is very rude by the way, says it will be here next week. So again I asked for the tracking number and he says it will be provided 48 hours before delivery. So obviously it had still not been shipped at that point. Without any good arguments to fall back on, just lame excuses, the guy finally says, "OK I'm canceling your order and recalling it from UPS." Obviously complete BS. Bottom line is that they had my money for 4 weeks and the evidence points to them never having shipped anything. I filed a dispute with the CC company and will mark it up to experience. Take my advice and avoid these scammers like the plague.

Digital Outlets Waiting for my refund

I have ordered a Nikon Camera from DigitalOutlets website and few days later received a message that there was something wrong with my ordered and that I need to call customer service as soon as possible. I called them and was told that my camera was no longer in stock and that I will be getting my refund. That was too good to be true. According to their promises I was supposed to get my refund over a month ago. What a surprise, I never received anything! Stay away from this website!

Digital Outlets Photographic Camera

I am Brazilian and bought in Digital Outlets.net, on 18th September a Canon EOS 5D Mark III camera and a lens, and requested that the delivery was made in Orlando where I have been stayed until the 9th October. As nothing was given to me, I asked again, after several attempts and waiting on the phone, to deliver my order in New York, where I would stay until the 17th October. Unfortunatelly the goods were not delivered and I had to return to Brazil. After this, a friend of mine went to Tucson and I requested again that the products would be delivered to the hotel she was staying and nothing. I had already requested via email to cancel the purchase and return of the money paid, but as usual there was no answer. So everything is looking like I was virtual victim, a coup. I paid $ 2, 248.00. I hope that the company answer my email confirming the refund of all the amount paid very shortly.

Digital Outlets Nikon D810 Camera order

Digital Outlets.net is a fraudulent store, they will rip you off, cheat you, trick you into buying more stuff and having you pay more for what you have originally thought you are buying. DO NOT VISIT THEIR SITE, YOU'LL BE SORRY! I made a mistake ordering a Nikon D810 camera body from them for a $1, 999.00 listed price. Put in my credit card number, address etc. A week later I got some emails from them saying that I urgently needed to call them before they can ship out my camera. I did call after a day or so, when I got on the phone with an agent, he stated that the camera body I ordered is not an US model, but an import model, and that none of the software or writing in the camera will be in English. ( The website advertised it nowhere mention this!) He said if I wanted the US model, then that will cost me a thousand dollars more. I was angry and upset about their false advertising and I said thank you, no, please cancel my order. He said fine and hang up on me. To the day I never got any shipment from these guys. Next month I see my credit card billings that the charge is still on it. I made a dispute with Discover Card and they temporarily credited the amount back to me. A month later my Discover Card sent me a notice that they "investigated the case" and because Digital outlet showed them the shipping details with a tracking number and signature from UPS, I got to pay for the transaction after all. I was again outraged, and contacted UPS with the tracking info they provided to my Credit Card Co. The UPS agent checked the tracking # and she told me that yes, they delivered a package under that number to an other city, (Redondo Beach, -not where I live!) and they had a signature from the person who received it with a name of Owen! But it was not my name or address! So what I figured out, that after Discover has put in an investigation on Digital Outlets.net, they provided them with an other costumer's shipping info and tracking number. This is strictly fraudulent and an attempt to steal money from innocent customers! I hope the FBI will investigate these criminals before they can cause more fraudulent damage to unsuspecting customers!

Digital Outlets They lost my order and couldn't find it

The worst company and they mess with the customers. I bought camera from www.Digitaloutlets.net. I didn’t get even the confirmation that they received my order and money. I was worried and emailed to their support team, but they couldn’t find my order. Money was taken from my account on the same day, when I purchased the camera. I already asked to find my order or to return the payment, but they still haven’t done it.

Digital Outlets Paid for and never sent - Canon EOS 5ds

I ordered a Canon 5Ds (import model) on July 31st for 8 day shipping - $2779 (great deal right? - maybe too good to be true). I was buying it as a gift to a family member who lives outside the US so an import model didn't seem a problem. I checked out reviews on their site and it seemed as if people liked them.

After ordering the camera from their site I printed my online order confirmation and my cc was charged. I am glad i printed the online receipt because thats all I got - no tracking number or email confirmation ever came through. When I placed the order I was asked to give a review - i thought it was odd to write a review before I even got the product - it's like complimenting the chef after you placed the order and before you've eaten the meal!? I wondered if their onsite reviews were all caught like this.

I called them the Monday after i placed the order since i didn't get an email confirmation and they told me they had the order and it was being processed and the email must have gone in my junk folder (it didn't). After two weeks the camera didn't arrive so i called customer service. They did not try and upsell me but asked why I ordered an import model. I was told it was coming from Japan and would arrive shortly. I called again after their second deadline passed and they told me there had a been a recall of the camera and it would be in on September 10th. They told me they would expedite shipping at no extra charge so i should expect it Sep 12th or thereabouts - It did not arrive! Its September 17th now and I just googled the company. After calling again yesterday I could not get through after several times trying. I will keep trying but after reading some similar reviews online I have now just called my CC company to see if they will refund it. Maybe Digital Outlets were intending to send me something at some point - if they had sent me an email confirmation, or if any of their deadline dates had been met, if they had made an effort at customer service. I am not still not sure. I order it 8 to 10 business days in July and its now mid-spetember. If I had received the camera this review would still not be great but I have not received anything which makes me want to warn people out there.

This seems like a total scam Some people seem satisfied with this company but this seems like a classic internet scam and after my experience I would imagine that the positive reviews on their site are caught from the happy customers who write a review before they get the product. "Wow - it was really easy placing this order!" :(

If i get the product or a refund i will be sure to update this review and let you all know”

Digital Outlets False product advertisement and outrageous cancellation of 10%

I also got scammed by these guys? When I did a search of the Nikkor AF-S 18-300mm for DX on the internet, their product came as the cheapest. As soon as I placed my order and called them to confirm the delivery today (8/25/2015), I was told that the lens I ordered is for 35mm and not DSLR. If I want to get the DSLR version, I will have to pay $799.00 instead of $499.00. I told them I don't have the extra $300.00 to upgrade. The customer service guy told me that I can cancel my order if I don't have money, but they will charge me 10% cancellation fee. So I got charged $50.00 for nothing, plus they still charged my credit card with the full amount of the lens plus the shipping costs, on the same day and time I cancelled my order (8/25/2015). Why not just process the 10%? Now I have to wait until they refund me my money before I can do anything. I tried to save money to find a good deal but got ripped off instead. I should have sticked with B&H, Adorama or Amazon.

The 10% cancellation fee is a fraud since it is never visible or even disclosed while I'm on the website processing my order. If I knew about the hidden fee, I would have gone somewhere else. In addition, I should have done my research first about the Company before I ordered the lens.

Digital Outlets Selling grey market cameras

i ordered a nikond750 and they sent me a grey market one . i also had bought two year extra gurantee and they did not have nikon gurantee but their own and charged me 200 dollars for it besides the 2300 for the camera . i called them and they told me the camera is genuine as it depends on what shipment it comes from - the camera has no usa or u symbol on its box, no gurantee info and this company is not affiliated with nikon .

Digital Outlets false advertising

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SELLER! This is one of those online retailers that are closed Friday afternoon and Saturday. They offer prices lower than anyone else but don’t have the item in stock. They will take your order and not tell you that the item is backordered and has been for weeks or months. If you call they will try to string you along saying that it will be in next week or try and sell you something else. Weeks later they will send you an email saying that unfortunately they ran out of stock just before your order was about to be shipped when in fact they didn’t have the item in stock for weeks before they received your order. The bottom line is it’s not a great deal if you don’t receive the item.

I've heard and read numerous stories about these crooks. I almost bought, or should I say, tried to buy a Canon 5DMKIII from them a few years ago.
It was $500 less than the legitimate stores. Fortunately, my voice of reason took over and I started reading the complaints against them. I think that anyone who actually buys from a company like this and does not do their homework, deserves what they get, which will be NOTHING. Suckers like these are what DigitalOutlets.com depend on, so don't be stupid. If it sounds too good to be true, most likely it is.

Bait-and-switch strategy. Advertized Canon 70D at lower price. Got email week later to confirm order, but was told that specific model is a Japanese model (and the language on screen is in Japanese). Agent then convinced me to buy American version, and he will ship it immediately via UPS.

Three days later I called to complain that no delivery nor tracking number was received, and I wish to cancel. Person started yelling and cursing, using explicit language. Threatened me that I will pay the full restocking fee!

He says he refunded my money on 11/19/15 and then changes it to 9/19/15. How could you refund my money in 9/19/15 when he didn't receive my till 9/3/15. I checked my bank statement he got his money 9/3/15 never has refunded so far. He tells he already refunded and hangs up contact credit section customer service or credit company. MOST RIDICULOUS ONLINE RETAILER EVER ENCOUNTERED!
I ordered an expensive lenses because it had the lowest price than anyone else. Guess what? One week later nothing ever shipped even though the order brought a shipping charge for shipping. Then I received an email letting me call back, and the person on the phone told me that the lenses with that price was for film camera only, and the one for digital camera was $800 more! He'll in the item decryption it NEVER mentioned that item was for film camera! The picture it used, also was the one copied from Canon site. When I told him I need it for digital camera, he let me either pay the high price, or pay for 10% cancellation. They never shipped the item, where did the 'restocking' come from?

“What and AWFUL experience I have had with this company ( I use that word loosely because they should not even be in business as far as I am concerned) I ordered a new lens for my Canon T5 the third week of July, I received an email Aug 10 saying I had to respond with a call to verify payment info or my lens would not get shipped, I then got a call the next day from a guy ( would not use gentleman cause he was ignorant) saying they needed the 3 #'s on the back of my card again cause they were having issues with pymnt (pymnt wen't through my acct July 26) I proceeded to say I was not comfortable with this and to just cancel my order. He got quite snotty with me and so I reiterated again to cancel it. He then got all nice trying to get me to change my mind and said if i just verified everything it would be shipped out and I would have it in 5 business days.
It is now Aug 27 and I have still yet to receive this lens. I called on Aug 25 to see what the hold up was and he said "I see it was shipped Aug 1st but it looks like it is held up in customs" (refer to call on Aug 10th saying they won't ship until I verify paymnt info?!?) Nothing adds up and I totally feel like this whole transaction was BS, asked to have tracking number so I could go online to see for myself where it actually was, was told he would make a call right away and get back to me with info...still no call.
I have now called my bank, cancelled my card and put in a dispute for the charges ...and I better get them back sooner then later cause this is ridiculous!
Never again will I deal with this company and I will tell everyone I can how much of a scam it is! I will be sharing this review on as many sites as possible!
I have also submitted a complaint with the BBB

Update: I was forced to remove this review from other sites in order to get my money back from these crooks, I cannot believe I was threatened like that, no wonder bad reviews are few and far between because they threaten you if you write one before you get your refund...what a joke! Well guess what, I got my money back and here is my review and every bit of it is the truth!

They use bait and switch selling techniques. You will be offered a great price for a product online. Once you place that order you will have to call to confirm your identity. They will then tell you that you ordered something different then what you specifically ordered and try to upsale you on the order.

Digital Outlets shipping of product

I would not use this company again, mostly based on their confirmation and shipping process. It has been a month and I have still not received the lense I ordered. It took me about a week and a half before I could ever speak with anyone to confirm my order. When I did speak with someone they told me the lense would be $60 more than the price indicated on-line (that I had selected the film lens instead of the digital...which seems a little sketchy when the lense I ordered has a "D" in it's tittle). A month later when UPS tried to deliver it (during the work day) they couldn't leave it at my house because digital outlets requires a signature to receive your purchase UPS. I'm just hoping the lense is halfway decent at this point. I would suggest spending your money somewhere else.
