Diamond Resorts sampler membership scam

Purchased this $4, 000 sampler points package. Was told that we had a month to check out and if we didn't use it, there would be no cost. Well, they have you sign up for a Barclays credit card and then billed the full amount in 10 days.

We were kept at presentation for long time and at end decided that with no money leaving our hands, we could go online and check this out. They had us sign on an ipad - and then was given the printed documents as we were leaving the building. Which I assumed would be information on how to access. NO - nothing.
We never received 1 piece of information on How to use this and it has been 2 months. Did finally get an email with a 'Welcome, how lucky you are... about 2 months after this nightmare started.

When we got back from vacation and looked at documents, it was nothing that we signed, even though our initials were on it (via the ipad). Called and tried to cancel - no one called back.
Called again and was given a main number to call, they said - " it was after the 10 day grace period' - even though that is NOT what we were told.
Put a dispute in with the credit card company & they checked out and said they could only go on 'Written' Documents...no credit given!
This is obviously a bait and switch...the document we signed, was not the one that was printed. If we had known half of the conditions, we would not have done this.
When I called the company back AGAIN, the girl told me that they are no longer offering this to non-members, because of problems, Well YEAH,
They will tell you anything to get you to purchase. FRUSTRATED

We also purchased a sampler package from Diamond Resorts which purchased our home resort at Virginia Beach, VA. We soon found out that the resorts we could go with the sampler package were at very limited locations. At two locations the units we were given were so bad, that in one case we moved to another location at another city after we complained and suffered as long as we could at another facility in Orlando and left early. Some of the presentations we had to attend were very long, way beyond the time they said they would require us to attend and the on in Orlando was downright mean, insulting and absolutely horrible. More than once now, we were told that the good units were given to the owners not the sampler purchasers. We asked how they expected t buy anything from Diamond if our money went to stay in the worst units they had. Got no answer, they just kept on lying and pushing. During the last presentation they tried to sell us points for $80, 000 and later dropped it to $7, 000. Go figure if you want to trust this company.

Diamond Resorts lied to when purchased. scammed!

In Jan 2018 my husband and I went to Sunrise Ridge Resort in Pigeoon Forge, TN. I have been told they have been bought out by Diamond Resorts and they are the highest fees in the industry. We were talked into purchasing a week with them. SUTPID MISTAKE! We paid cash and now are stuck. Yearly fees are ridiculous. I need help getting out of this albatross. Unfortunately I was a bit too quick in purchasing. The saleswoman was a fast talker and I was an idiot. Own a week unit in Lauderdale by the Sea and have never had a problem. Well I can see this is and will be a problem. I want to sue for misrepresentation and lies told!

Diamond Resorts lies at a sales presentation

I attended a sales so-called "clarity" presentation at the diamond property riviera beach in san juan capistrano on november 29, 2018. The person I met with - damon - never got a last name lied to me about upgrading to platinum ownership (I was currently a platinum owner with 31, 000 points already paid for and a rci property which I turn over to diamond every year to obtain more diamond points and which qualified me as platinum). Damon claimed throughout the meeting that as a platinum "owner" I could monetize my platinum points at 30 cents per point and get either a debit card or a check from diamond for that transfer of points to 30 cents per point. He went on and on about the maintenance fees increasing and that I could use my points to monetize them and pay for my maintenance or anything else that I wanted to spend the money on. He said there was no limit on how many points I could "monetize". He told me there was another way to monetize my platinum points by getting reimbursed for "qualified travel expenses" again at 30 cents per point. There is a $5000 maximum for this type of monetizing my points. I asked how this was done and he said not to worry that diamond knows and sees my "reservations" and reimburses me. Throughout the meeting he kept telling me that richard brocksmith (the real crook) would call me later and explain everything. Of course richard did not call for three weeks and at that point it was too late for me to cancel this transaction which resulted in my adding $60, 000+ in debt. When I did speak to richard he told me the only way to monetize my platinum points is to buy wine, shop or pay for a cruise through diamond resorts - all of which cost me more money. And then only 30% of the points that I use to help buy these three items can be monetized at 30 cents per point and there is no other way to monetize my points. I asked richard about the so-called debit card that damon showed me and also about the spreadsheet he pulled up on his computer to show that he was using the diamond debit card that he got from monetizing his points. He could use the debit card for gasoline, grocery, at target - wherever he wanted to use the money on the debit card. He claimed that he had a 100, 000 point membership and monetized his points to have over $14, 000 on his debit card. Richard tried to claim that damon must be using his diamond credit card through barclay bank to make these purchases. I told him no - this was a debit card (per the lie damon told me) and he got it from monetizing his platinum points and had $14, 000 available on it. Throughout my conversation with richard he kept telling me that I was somehow "wrong" in what damon told me and at no time did he seem concerned that I had been lied to in order to agree to this added huge debt. During the meeting, I thought, okay, I can take all 50, 000 points that I will have next year (2019) and pay down the $60, 000 debt by $15, 000 and could possibly do it in 2021 in order to pay down the debt that I could not afford. I never would have agreed to any of this without the "so-called knowledge" that I could monetize points, get a check and pay down the debt. All lies. I wrote a detailed letter to the ceo of diamond, michael flaskey, which he received last monday but after looking at the complaints on this site I know that nothing will be done and this is what diamond international does to people who they con into buying into their company. Before this happened I was a happy diamond owner and used my points every year to travel - now I am not only mad but terribly disappointed in the diamond international company. You have to wonder how people can live with themselves when they lie like this and put people into awful debt that will change their lives for years to come. How can you enjoy a vacation that costs you thousands of dollars more than what you could pay for the same vacation directly. Diamond resorts is evidently a scam and filled with crooks who only want to take your money and feed you lies in order to make it happen.

Diamond Resorts timeshare

We signed up with Diamond Resorts on 17/2/18, we were promised a free cruise offer with the sign up, we were also given 7500 extra points, making 15000 pts to use, but i said due to commitments in 2018 can these be carried over, which i was told yes. i paid a deposit which took until 31/5/18, for Diamond to acknowledge., after 21 emails and many attempts for acknowledgments through sms to Hakan and Patty Prince, with little reply. We were also told our son and new daughter in law would be given a cruise on their first anniversary, and we would be with them. I had made many attempts to organise this cruise, via sms and email to Hakan and Patty prince, and had no idea of any sign in details to their website. 17/4/18 we paid the whole holiday plan in full, $aus38, 176.78, which again they took months to acknowledge this payment although i sent receipt and confirmation nos instantly it was paid. With all correspondance from myself and no replis until months later requesting further details, when i sent these you receive no further correspondance. I expected to be notified about the free cruise, and other details required to organised this. 14/9/18 i received a phone call from Morrow requesting the maintenance fee, which i did not think was required at that point as this was not explained when we signed up, and we had not received and invoice for this. Morrow told me he could organise for the points to be carried over, and explained to me how to get into the website, what my password etc was, and also sent me the title and deeds, as these also had not been received. he also sent me the invoice for the maintenance fee which had interest etc on it, even though i had not received the invoice in the first place. I had sent the maintenance fee and interest three times afte this phone call through XE, forex, and Western union, and sent the receipt each time, but after a few days the money was returned to my account each time. i was then able to transfer the money $AUS3276.50 through transferwise, (30/10/18) again sending the receipt to Hakan, and requesting acknowledgement of the funds. 10 emails sent by myself requesting the acknowledgement of the funds, as the free cruise cannot be taken until these are paid said Morrow on 14/9/18.
So i also sent numerous emails requesting points to be carried over as time had run out to use these point.
30/11/18 i gave up waiting for a reply, all other phone numbers given to me cannot be used where are, the only ph number that goes through is Morrows, and he said he would assist me, and said the funds had not been received.
Again after numerous phone calls emails, to Hakan, Morrow, and contact us Diamond resorts, with no reply, especially when confirmation was given that Diamond resorts the pmt was received the day after it was paid, finally 6th Dec 18, i was unhappy, and wanted to know about our cruises and the points, he transferred me to a lady who said i will loose the points. And did not know about the free cruise...i was then told we had a free cruise but no other free cruise. I could use 20% of pts this way and that, which i was not happy about. 13/12/18 I rang Morrow again, and he put me through to Jennai, who spoke to her boss and said they will transfer 7500 pts to next year but i would have to use the other 7500 pts this year, if necessary i could get products, ( they did not say US customers only), so consequently, i still cannot use the points, but as i try to book anything to use the points the website does not acknowledge the payment of the maintenance fees, and now have put an additional years maintenance fees so i will not be able to get to use anything.
and worried about loosing points.
I would like this settled.. to the following which we were told anyway at the sales pitch.
* all 15000 points to be carried over to be used in 2019, 2019 points can be used ion 2019 or 2020.
* the free cruise which states free airfare, and does not state $99 booking fee for ourselves.
* the free cruise which states free airfare, and does not state $99 booking fee for ourselves, son and daughter in law.
* that the 2019 maintenance fees will not stop using the cruise and trips to be booked. (it has been beyond our control, that the pmt has not been acknowledged on website and stopping any trips being booked.
* Assistance on booking trips as it has been impossible from here.
* To be able to pay the maintenance fee over 12 months as the latest offer, which has no access on website to acknowledge this.
* An apology for the lack of service given, lack of replies to my requests and numerous emails.
* my contact ph no is AUS +[protected]

Diamond Resorts unethical behaviour/fraud

We were required to attend a presentation to review our file, so as to help us better use our points and other features provided by DRI. We had purchased a "Sampler" about a year ago and all the promises made at that time were incorrect(lies). We have gone to at least 3 other presentations between that time and this last one. At this last one at Riviera Beach and Spa Resort we were met by Bruce Collins(real name?) told him that we were not interested in upgrading our points and again complained of our displeasure with the "Sampler" we had purchased. He said let me have you talk to Jaime(Madden?). Jaime took us to her office, we told her our story, she said we should never been sold that Sampler and that she had the authority as a salaried manager to make right. She told us she could not refund the purchase price but could convert the Sampler points to regular annual points at the price reserved at the time of original sale. This was fine with us and she went on to explain that it was mostly paper work and couldn't understand why no one had done this before. She went on to explain further that this transaction would need to go through Escrow and because of that there needs to an exchange of funds. If we would again pay the $3995.00 with our credit card it would be refunded after escrow was completed. The sale will look like a new contract and any additional funds over the $3995.00 would be paid with the equity we have in our current portfolio. In addition to that our "Maintenance Fees" would actually go down, from about $2800 to $2600.00. Jaime told us when we went to sign the new loan document papers not to say anything to the processor as it will only confuse them and complicate the transaction.
Needless to say, the whole transaction was a fraud and we ended up not getting our $3995.00 refunded and signed a real contract for and additional $17, 719.00. When we questioned Riviera Beach and Spa Resort we were informed that they have never had a Bruce work for them and that Jaime was no longer with them. Quality Assurance Officer, Krista Brown, said she would review the file and get back to us that day or the next. That did not happen. When contacted again she said she was waiting for Manager Richard Brocksmith to return from vacation. Approximately a week later Mr. Brocksmith returned our call. His response is that we are just suffering from "Buyers Remorse" and that he is looking at a signed contract.
Bruce and Jaime walked us through this whole scenario and lied at every point. We walked in there only looking to fulfill our obligation to attend a presentation and were defrauded into a upgrade contract we don't want under the guise of helping us with a small problem we were willing to live with.

Diamond Resorts hotel / white sands beach club menorca

I am submitting my complaint to advise you about our holiday from hell at one of your hotels in Menorca called White Sands Beach Club. My family and I booked our holiday to enjoy a half term break with our two young boys. Little did we know that the holiday would be our worst holiday ever. We arrived there on Saturday 27th October to be told that we couldn't check into our apartments until 4.30pm which was just ridiculous as we had been travelling since 3.30am in the morning and all we wanted to do is check in and relax. It started to rain very heavily so I went to see a lady called Isabel at reception and asked if there was anyway we could check in earlier as we were getting wet and our boys were tired. It took almost 2 hours for her to finally agree to find another apartment for us to check into. The following day we experienced severe weather and even had a mini tornado and was left with no power and electricity. The staff im the hotel did not update us to let us know what is happening. My husband and I had to go over to find out information. We were left with no water or electricity. I had to go over to reception to ask for a bottle of water and a torch as my boys are afraid of the dark. For almost 3 nights we were left with no power. The reception staff were not very accommodating and did not know offer to bring in any food or offer water etc. We were left with no food as all the restaurants and shops were closed in the area. My poor children were left to eat crisps and stale bread. Not once did anyone apologise about the lack of service we received. The staff were rude and abrupt at times when we asked why there wasn't a generator here to get some power just like another hotel nearby. I feel we wasted almost £2, 000 on this nightmare holiday. The staff couldn't made things easier, I appreciate natural disaster's are beyond anyone's control but having a back up plan would've been far more effective. They had no measures in place for this as this had never happened before . The reception staff didn't seem to care that my children had no food or drink. Can you please look into this and offer us some sort of refund on our holiday? It is just not acceptable to be treated this way.

Diamond Resorts time share

Diamond resorts has got to be the worst company I have ever dealt with. They sale a product that is unusable. They do nothing but lie to their customer and will not offer any help at all. The representative of this company are condescending and are very rude. I have signed documents the company will not honor. When asked about these documents I was told the are not legal yet the documents I signed are. I am being told now that I can not terminate the contract for any reason.

Diamond Resorts time share misrepresentation and sales tactics

The Diamond Resorts International sales people are liars and will mislead you into buying or upgrading your time share. We have been to two "member update meetings". They have always turned into 3-4 hour sales presentations. By the time you are done, your convinced that what they've told you is all true and you really should buy. They will take a credit app, have you sign it and then put incomes in there that aren't even CLOSE to what you make, just so you'll qualify for the time share. We were told that the previous sales person "should have told you would save a lot of money if you had bought at the next level, but they can upgrade you, for the same price per point that you bought at is you buy today. We have been suckered all the way up to Platinum level and can't even afford to go on vacation. because of all the money we are supposedly saving by having a time share. Their motto needs to be "stay broke" not stay vacationed. They paint a great picture but lie, lie, lie about how easy it is to book when and where you want to go!

Diamond Resorts fraudulent sales practices

My wife and I attended a sales presentation at Polo towers in March of 2017. The salesman that we were with, was fired for fraudulent practices, and we were, I am sure, in that group? We had a teleconference with a "impartial" member of management, to see if any practices were abnormal? The "impartial" was the vp of sales at the resort where the fraud took place, seems like conflict of interest? He didn't see any fraud or lies, and basically said" deal with it". As several others have noted, he also had us exaggerate our income, and said don't worry about it, it is just to get approved for the loan, which we can't afford. I also dealt with, hospitality management, what a joke they are. don't waste your time, and know that when a Diamond resort sales person opens his/her mouth, they are lying, my opinion.

Diamond Resorts don't buy any diamond resorts timeshares meeting. its scam!

Diamond Resorts International timeshare points is totally a scam!
Our decision to buy it from what the salesman told us and how it was represented. But all of their misleading talk means SCAM. They lied!
The actual points value much much lower than the sales told you. You can only find out the actual point value with the login information provided to you 2 weeks after you signed the contact, which you can't cancel the contact since you already past their 5 days rescission period. It's a scam! It's rip off!

Diamond Resorts timeshare

I went to Vegas Sept 1. Did a timeshare presentation on Sept 2. I informed Tyler Rhae and Aretha Peppers that I only made 30.000. Tyler put that I made 150.000 and said don't worry it's just to get you approve for a down payment. I thought that was deceitful and unethical but he said that's how they do it. Aretha in turn wrote up five different contracts to fit the needs of selling me whether true or not. I told them that I was purchasing a home and could not by any means have this on my credit reports. I was informed yesterday that I wasn't approved for homeowners assistance because this is additional that I can't afford and that this a debt. Everything I've worked for is ruined now in a matter of days because of a timeshare that's irrelevant at this time. I can travel anytime everyone needs a home to live in. I contacted Steve Miller. Quality assurance. I have not received any responses from any of the these three people. No emails. No phone calls. Nothing. I'm new and need to cancel before this ruins me any further. Any assistance is appreciated. Thank you. Ms. Myrick

Diamond Resorts customer service

I sent am email explaining my situation and was told I had to eat the loss.
Why when I trusted your website? Why would I book reservation for California and Nevada for the same week? It costs you nothing to fit this and yet you wont? Is this your attempt to prove that all the online reviews of Diamond Resort are true? I know I cancelled my Palm Springs reservations.

I cancelled reservation number [protected] for Palm Springs, CA but it is still showing up as a current reservation. I cancelled the Palm Spemeings reservation the Same day I made my reservation for Las Vegas, NV. You will notice the dates of these two reservations over lap. When I cancelled the Palm Springs reservation I was instructed only 50% of my points would be returned. I was okay with that so I cancelled. Please help me with returning those 50 percentage points to my account. Thank you.

Diamond Resorts scam, ripoff, lies

In February of 2015, in a trip to Orlando for my continuing education course, I was approached by a gentleman in the hotel I was staying at, B-hotel and resorts in Orlando. February of 2015 was my first stay out of total of five stays in 2015, February, May, June, August, and September, with each time staying from Thursday to Sunday.

The man's proposal was if I would pay $149 would get my next three days of stay at the same hotel for no charge plus would receive a $100 gift card. All I had to do was attend a tour on a Sunday (schedule later departure so could attend their 8AM tour).

That never happened, despite the fact I went back to Orlando four additional times, each time calling to schedule my free stay and tour with diamond resorts in advance I was told my desired dates were not available.

Instead, they sent me a confirmation for a Las Vegas stay that I had not planned nor went to. See attached.

This is the charge that showed up on my bank statement
2/27/15 - CHECKCARD 0225 DR MYSTIC DUNES MKTG ORLANDO FL 24755425057160573101003 - $149

I appreciate assistance in obtaining my $149 refund.

Thank you for your response,

Farinaz Tazeh

Diamond Resorts sampler package

We bought the sampler package stupidly after telling them we were not interested like 5x. We were there for like 5 hours. We got back home and decided totally not for us sent a certified letter with a notorized letter like it asks for. We hadn't heard anything and stated getting bills for the payment. We called them and they said they never received the letter and gave us the run around but funny thing is we never got the certified letter returned to us. So now we are stuck paying for this which we will never use and can't afford. Thanks for screwing us over Diamond resorts I will make sure everyone I talk to knows what a big scam this is.

Diamond Resorts service

While attending a presentation on August 25, 2018 in Williamsburg Virginia I was highly offended with the representative (Paul) whom conducted the presentation. I was accompanied by my co-worker/friend whom also was an invited guess. During the presentation my co-worker (Amanda Whitby) and I was labeled as being a lesbian couple. I am African American and Amanda is Caucasian and appears to be of the LGBT status. Paul called us out as a couple during the presentation on several occasions and continued throughout the visit. At the end of the presentation we were then placed in an office together with one representative attempting to conduct our financial business at the same time which to me was a violation of our privacy. Representatives should not publicly assume things based on the appearance. I hope that in the future this will not happen to anyone else.

Diamond Resorts not resolving my complaint

To whom it may concern,
We recently attended a time share demonstration at diamond Resorts in Maui,
We unfortunatly purchased on the day now with great regret.
Since coming back to Australia we have had only but problems that we cannot resolve, we were promised that we would have all the help we needed when we got back that we would be contacted by someone to further explain how to use our points, how to search and book holidays, to go on line and show us how to do all this and for anything else that we needed to know.
Well we are still waiting for someone! We were told we would get a member number that would help to do all this stuff in the mail but that still hasnt arrived.
Initially we didnt complain about no one getting in touch with us because we thought they would call eventually. What our intial complaint was about was our payments. We didnt want to pay on our credit card because of the high fees we wanted to transfer the money into your accounts, so l got in touch with Karen Sargent and emailed asking for info to do this, she sent me some forms from finance department that we couldnt understand, so l emailed back to let her that we couldnt understand what to do and she gave me number to contact them so we did that and they didnt know what we were talking about, so l emailed her back and told her they couldnt help me. So this was not resolved, so then l emailed a complaint to a William McCoy with our concerns and l got an email back that someone would be in touch.
l then received an email from an Eric Arango to try and resolve this, so he finally called me and we spoke on the phone and l voiced my concerns that we have not been treated very respectfully as we thought we would be, and we are not happy at all and we no longer want to continue with the purchase of this timeshare as we have felt that we have been mislead, so we didnt resolve anything over the phone.
We then received an email from Anthony Bayles on behalf of Karen Sargent and Eric Arango with information on how to pay my fees with an Australian contact which we asked about and was told there wasnt one!
So l emailed Anthony back the same email l originally sent to William McCoy with our complaints and concerns and that it just wasnt just about the money anymore, and we have not heard back from him, l sent another email a few days later and as yet have had no response from Anthony Bayles.
Now l received another email from Karen Sargent that l would be getting call from your finance department, about our payments.
We got the call from your finance department and we told the lady on the phone that l have emailed my concerns and that we have had no response from anyone one and we wont be paying for anything.
So at this point we have had enough and no longer want to continue with this purchase.
Waiting for a reply, or will be taking this matter further.

Diamond Resorts timeshare

Blatantly lied about agreement and purchase of points on a new loan when my husband and I already had exsiting loan that was suppose to be wrapped. When called to complain hospitality management could not do anything to help me and basically told me that I am stuck. The representative told me if it wasn't done during the sales presentation like it was suppose to be then I was responsible for letting the QA agent know of the agreement between the sales rep and my husband and I. I feel so misled and lied to I can't believe that a multi billion dollar corporation can do their owners this way. I wish I would have listened to the reviews when they said that DRI was fraud!

Diamond Resorts customer service

Their customer service is very poor. We initially felt very deceived/mislead when we went to book the package, but we final got that worked out after having to talk to a supervisor last July. Recently we called to make a change to our dates which they do for a $50 charge.

We initially spoke to one Diamond Resort representative who was helpful. She stared the process of getting our dates changed which including us calling the resort directly to check availability (at the direction of the Diamond representative). They said yes it was fine and to let Diamond Resorts know they would approve the change. Sent this information (on voicemail & email) to the Diamond representative

We didn't receive an updated confirmation with the new dates so I began making leaving voicemails & emails. Turns out the first representative was on vacation. So I called and spoke with another representative to see where in the process our date change was. This second representative was neither helpful nor pleasant.

She constantly interrupted me through the entire conversation and seemed angry that I would have been directed to call the resort to check on dates. Said all she could do was send a room change request to the resort - she refused to call the contact I had spoken to at the resort.
At one point, she something to the effect "if he says the dates are available, than you should just cancel with us and book directly with the hotel".

I asked to speak to her supervisor in hopes of still being able to get my dates changed but she said there was no to talk to. I don't believe that is true - everyone has a boss. She said my only recourse was to send an email through their website. I did. I'm waiting for a response.

I have never been this upset after a customer service call. All I'm trying to accomplish is changing my dates which the resort has already said is possible. I would also like to not feel an annoyance or someone who has done something wrong when I call customer service. I'm not sure how this kind of customer service is supposed to attract people to buy into their timeshare.

Diamond Resorts timeshare... crooks... pressure sales

In September 2017 we went to Cancun Resort, Las Vegas to celebrate our anniversary and my birthday. Immediately we were "bribed" to attend what was called an "update" meeting. My husband and I were Monarch Resort Timeshare owners. Once in our "update" the sales reps told us that Monarch went bankrupt. We were told if we didn't upgrade to Diamond Resorts international points we would only be left with 6 properties to choose from. They told us that trying to sell a timeshare associated with a bankrupt company would be impossible and that we would lose the investment we had made. Supposedly we had missed a chance to get rid of the Monarch points because we didn't attend an update meeting back in June 2017. The sales reps exerted great pressure on us to buy right then ("you only have until 1p to make your decision"...we were shown one of the sales reps travel album, they tried to create a common bond with my husband. It was pathetic. The sales manager, Shadi Kassas spoke extremely fast and we had to ask him to slow down several times. In addition we were not at all happy with the quality of the DRI property, Cancun Resort. We were first given a room that had a missing cabinet door, no view, and then we were put in another room..only to have housekeeping BARGE in after one knock on the door. A security report had to be made as we no longer felt comfortable during our stay.

Once we got back from our trip, and back to our daily lives..we had time to process all that took place on what was supposed to be a relaxing trip. We called to cancel our contract on September 26th and were told we were past the 5 day rescission period. Seriously? 5 days? We want out of our contract NOW! Too many problems, low quality resorts, high pressure sales, and only after the money!

Diamond Resorts 20,000 sampler deceptive. points are useless. lied to

I reserved 1 day staycation at the Scottsdale Villa Mirage in and attempt to get some much needed down-time with my children and boyfriend. They invited us to breakfast which we paid for. Check out was at 10 and breakfast was at 8:30. We wanted a chance to go to the pool. As they agreed to extend our checkout a little, they also kept us there for over 3 hours. Pressure pressure! They'd pitch and leave and this would go on and on. We said it was not within our budget and we were contemplating our options for a honeymoon. At end when we tried to leave finally, worried about packing up and checking out we get pulled into a trial membership . 20, 000 points for $4000. Boy did they lie about the package to us. BIG TIME. I was told we would have access to properties all over the world with our points. I had purchased a dreamtrip through Sunterra many years ago and loved it so we thought this would be a great way to sample the new properties as was told to us. Took $349 down. As my boyfriend ran to our room to frantically pack up (we were exhausted by then), I was left to sign the documents on this little Notepad, which, I never once got to hold or review. I told the agent I didn't have my contacts in and couldn't see . He reviewed it very quickly and just scrolled through where I needed to initial. I asked if I could cancel if I changed my mind. He said yes. LIAR! Most of what they said in comparison to the printed contract were lies. He scrolled to parts and the paragraphs were shortened on the notepad. Magically, in my printed version one of the very last pages there is a no rescind. I specifically remember only tapping my initials on the last two spots after the one place he told me I didn't have to initial. That was before the part on the next page with the no rescind where the sales guy signed (after he took off with the notepad to the other room to print). And no salesperson name on my contract. I KNOW I did not electronically initial as many time as were on that contract. I would have questioned some of those items had I seen them. BOGUS. And the sad part is we really used to enjoy going there. We returned after a couple days to ask them for a refund and to get out since we checked and there was no availability all year to really go anywhere for $4000. They sent another guy (not our sales guy) to tell us sorry you're SOL have a nice day. I have sent certified letters to both Arizona and the address in Las Vegas. Absolutely terrible business, no ethics. I'm not wealthy so this hits me hard to just lose money like that. Not to mention, our honeymoon is not going to be able to happen now. Looking into an attorney I suppose. Contact the FTC and Attorney General in AZ and BBB. Maybe contact my girlfriend is an non practicing corporate attorney to see if she can help .Feel helpless and embarrassed to have been scammed like this. You don't expect from such a large company who's business is resorts and should be all about customer service.
