Dean's Custom Mailboxes no product sent

My complaint is the same as the others I see posted. It's been 2 years and no product sent. (I prepaid $300) Very disappointed. I read 5 complaints that say the exact same thing. They do return my emails, but it has been one excuse after another. Is this a real business? Has anyone ever received a mail box from them? I need a refund or a mail box.

Dean's Custom Mailboxes accepted money - no product sent

I ordered a custom made mailbox from this company in December of 2009. It is one and a half years later and I still have not received it. He claims that it can take over a year to make. I've since found numerous complaints on the internet from people who ordered from him. Is this legal? How long can he legally stay in business if he just keeps taking money from people and giving nothing back?

Years of waiting and never receiving a product or honest updates on progress is simply unacceptable. Try as you will but there is no viable excuse for this. Excuse after excuse after excuse. I was informed of possibly a year wait time, 1 year is not multiple years. The rest of these reviews are spot on. At this point I’m confident there was no intention of ever delivering me a finished product. This guy is a clown, buyers beware

I ordered a custom mailbox from MR.Dean on jan 26 2014 and payed him $400.00.I email him many times, giving me excuses, i place a complain to the BBB.Mr Dean promise to give me a refund.this was last year(2017}.
I already contacted the BBB, he did not do want he promise, to give me a refund.

Did you ever receive the mailbox? I sent him $300 on November 30, 2021 and it is now March 3, 2022 and he said he just finished design and will now start building. I asked how long till completion and he said a few months. After reading your review and others, I think I've been scammed!

I ordered a custom mailbox for my husband intended for Father's Day, then his Birthday, now Christmas. Absolutely nothing. He promised if he couldn't meet the 6 month window he'd refund our money (Nov 21 2017). Of course that didn't happen and he won't respond to email. I guess it's off to small claims court to get our money back. So disappointing.

I've been waiting 2 years and 6 months. I've been told it is almost done over a year now. 30 days it will be done and then another 30 days. My birthday it will be done, Christmas, Halloween and time keeps passing. I got another it will be done by the end of the month email. I told him I expect my purple dragon mailbox by Thanksgiving 2017 or I will contact the BBB and someone in his state of NC who can help me. I understand he was sick, but I hate the b.s. DONE...

I am in the same position. I ordered a custom mailbox over a year ago and no product. I emailed the guy and no response. He responded in the first few months giving me excuses. If I don't get the product or a refund I will take a trip down to deans workshop. I am a very patient man but when I get taken advantage of, I will do everything in my power to make things right. Dean, do the right thing.

Over a year to make? That's insane. You probably have missed the window to file a chargeback with you card company -- they would have taken your money back from him and put it back on your card. I'd try it anyway...call your card company and tell them you need to file a chargeback for not receiving the product.
