I am having the same problem as you all with the charging of the account for things I had not yet decided I was going to get. The Collagenta and Dead Sea Beauty Kit are from the same company and as far as I'm concerned if they had worked as well on myself as they did on the subjects they used (they had more wrinkles to take care of than I did at this stage of the game)I would have ben happy and continued on ordering. Their auto-Refills are $89.95 for the same size but if you don't continue with the program you get charged the $139.95. They are charging people before they have a chance to contact them and that is if you can contact them. Products came out of Israel, no idea if United States is location of business. I just recently, after much trouble been able to contact someone via email. They avoided every question I had. When I finally told them of other similar complaints the email I received from this young woman about the complaints board site is what I have copied/pasted below. I cannot believe this company actually belives that peole like us decided to complain just for the fun of it so we could help this site get money.. I am waiting to see my credit card statement comes in whether they have actually reimbursed me with the difference between what they were going to charge me and the price of the refills, which is $50. Thanks for taking the time to read. If anyone needs any help getting thru to them pls feel free to leave me a mressage here on the board. Thanks Deb British Columbia Canada

The reason I was emailing you in the first place was because of the problem I stated in this email but also because I don’t seem to be the only one out there that is having the SAME problem. I send you a link for you to either ignore or as a reputable company take a look at and do right by the people who are not satisfied.

Just another note to ad to this. I have been poring thru all the complaints and am worn out to say the least and have noticed one common thread. They tell you that you can send back the product but to where...I was able to locate 3 different addreses thru the correspondance I have and the newest one I found was this:
Dead Sea Beauty Kit
c/o Paloma Dead Sea, Ltd.
PO Box 5381
Caesarea 30889
Israel
Notice that it is to a 'c/o', "care of", it is a P.O. Box, and it is in Israel. It is not a wonder people can't get there money back because if you send it to the wrong address who's going to acknowledge that. I would love to hear from anyone who has any other addresses so I can log those along with the ones I have. I'm going after these people and getting my money back. If your as upset as I am and want to help get some accountablility happening here pls let me know thru the board here. Thanks again Deb

I was scammed in the same way as most of the complaints, I agree'd to take a sample of the product for £2.95 a postage charge. But when I received my credit card statement there was a charge of £97.95. I phone'd my bank to check on the payment, they seemed to know this company and they had received many complaints of this kind. But they could not do anything about it because they said that the terms and conditions on the web site stated that there was a trial period in which you must cancel the product and return it. I did not see these terms, they must be well hidden away in the pages of their webb site. BE WARNED DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Unless you find the terms and conditions and agree with them.

I have had exactly the same problem. Got the product on trial, cancelled the order as it was useless. Next thing I know I had £98 taken out of my bank. The bank put a stop on them but could not get any money back.

I got an offer for a free Gift which was a Dead Sea Beauty Kit all I had to do was pay £2.95 postage, I scanned the complete advert looking for that little "But" which usually means Rip off and I could not find anything it looked like the real deal it also helped that it was an advert in a real good Magazine and was on Anderson Cooper on CNN Web page as an advert wit Anderson endorsing it, 2 weeks later got a little box with 3x 25ml pots of face cream and an amount of £100 withdrawn from my bank by DS minerals .. Sent Deep Sea Minerals a Letter of complaint and they replied, said i could keep the pots for £69 with the next set that they sent half price ! " what next set" ? or return them back unused for a full refund. I sent them back unopened unused in the same box they came in with signed for post Never received my money back and I guess I never will it is a con alright .

there was no additional charge information or cost listed anywhere on the website, details any additional charges other than the £3.99 postage cost. There have no right to just dip into peoples accounts without authorization. I have already contacted my Credit cars for a charge back, and they were well aware of this scam, as other cars holders have been previously scammed. The credit card fraud department have been notified and are investigating this company.
If anyone has paid by credit cars in the UK you are protected by the credit card agreement and any 'card holder not present transactions ' can be disputed. specially if you have not authorized them to take this money out your account.

Banks are not that much helpful. They told me that they are aware of this but cant help me unless i return the items. I have no issue in retuning the items but even then bank is saying they cant guarantee. I preferred to took half refund from the companies and 20$ credit from the bank. But lesson is learnt. But i wished that bank should have been more helpful because they know, it is fraud. I lost apx 100$ in two products.

Thank goodness I am not alone.Have just found out i have been charged £97 twice for a so called free trial of collagenta and dead sea kit.My credit card company have been helpful as I paid p&p with one product with them and another with the bank.My bank have more or less told me there is not much to do as would have been in small print.I have emailed collagenta and asked for refund as clearly did not authorise payment and I have contacted BBC Watch dog consumer programme.

i have fallen for this trap too.. got my kit and then googled it. landed on complains about the scam. went to the bank and reported lost card, so they can not charge me any more. then logged in the account that was created while ordering the trial product and unsubscribed from monthly shipments, changed address and name for billing and profile. let's hope these scammers can not get me. worst thing is that i ordered all four products on the offer and only now i see that there are conditions, where they say that they will keep sending me these products and charge my card. only 2 products provided with account, so i could log in and unsubscribe. the other 2 only give a phone number to phone, but i am not going to. they won't be able to charge my card, i hope that will get them to stop trying.
best of luck to all that have fallen for this sweet offer.

I have just this morning recieved the product and apart from it making my face red I had realised the day after I gave my CC number that I probably should not have.

Anyway I contacted MBNA straight away and explained the situation and they have from today's date put a monitor on my account and will refund automatically any attempt from this company to charge against my account.

I cannot praise MBNA highly enough for the quick and definate support. The lady I spoke to at MBNA said " we are well aware of these companies and their methods." They also asked for my permission to talk to Collagenta should they wish to confirm with the bank that they can take along walk off a short pier.

I am returning the product tomorrow registered delivery which I know will cost my a fortune but lesson learned

I have had the same problem - had the trial size supposedly 4.95 postage - serum never turned up and money was taken - when it eventually turned up I never used it within the 2 weeks period - got in touch with Collagenta and they explained it needed returning within 2 weeks - so got conned for 87.82 - told them I did not want anymore - they said they would take me off their account - lo and behold another package turns up - not knowing what it was my husband signed for it and once again another serum - this time contacted my bank told them about it - they will watch out for any payment being taken and will refund it to my account - sent about 7 emails - what a fool I have been this is one big scam and the stuffs not all that good anyway. Yes I got a message from Great (probably Garbo) who is dead anyway. Taking it to Post office tomorrow for recorded delivery - and as I will have a tracking number they can't say they did not get it but I bet you they will not take the package - this could go on for years god help us all. Other way is to close your bank account - get another card issued to you with another card number and they cant take the money. Good Luck everyone

I ordered thee trail which I received but forgot to cancel and theen got charged thee full price which is far enough my fault and give theem theere due theey did send me a refund - companies I am taking about are Dead Sea Minerals and Collagenta. I asked bothe theese companies to deleted my details and I also went on theeir websites to cancel. I received replies so theough all was well but oh no.

Last Friday 8the Mar 13 I received to packages from theese companies and when I contacted my bank theey had charged my card. I sent over 6 e-mails over thee weekend to find out why! I could not contact my bank until the Monday to register theis f issue but when I did I was relieved to here as it was my visa debit card I was covered and theey refunded my account straight away. Which was nearly £140.

I did receive e-mails from theem but theey stated theey had a computer error - FROM BOTH COMPANIES - and i could have thee product at a reduced price. I never wanted thee product in thee first place and trying to get an address is impossible, dead sea have not supplied one, collagenta have but its thee middle east. I can return but have to pay thee cost of postage and theem provided theem withe proof of postage.

I have cancelled my debit card and thee bank have put a monitor on my account, I have also done a report to trading standards.

Scam or not theis is a very poor way to treat people.

Taking money withe outconcernt well I will let you all make your own minds up about theat one.

Very pissed off.

I would never in a million years order this product again. It is the way this company does its underhand selling procedure. Do not fall for the free trial offer, you just pay shipping and handling. You have 14 days to decide if you want to continue using this product, and can return the product within 14 days - but get this, only if the product is unopened. I don't know about you, but in order to test a product, it has to be opened and used. Definitely a scam, your credit card is charged and that is where they get their sales. Please take my advice and do not get stuck with this scam.

It was Collagenta who refunded the money, I did not have to involve my bank in the process. I'm not sure exactly what I did, aside from bombarding them with my emails and continuously stating that they did not have my permission to take the money. Perhaps it was my posting parts of their emails here too. I suppose I did change my approach. I was incredibly angry at first and did rant on quite a bit in my emails. I had almost written off the idea that I would ever get my money back, and quite frankly was just tired the day I got the one I've copied here which once more did not address anything I had written. I just kind of decided that they weren't listening to me so I'm just going to play stupid and sent them an email saying that I'm happy they are going to refund my money at last. So they knew that I had sent the product back and would now have to explain to me why they are charging me $148.82 for a product I don't have. They would have to actually refuse to refund my money.

Thank you for contacting us.
Customers get a 14 day trial period to try the product(s) as much as they want to. If for some reason they find it(them) unsuitable, they can return it(them) (used or unused) to us within the 14 day trial period and not get charged for it(them).
However, upon receiving the item(s), if a customer decides not to go ahead with the trial, and they leave the product(s) unopened and unused, then they can return it(them) back to us within 30 days. If they make this return after the 14 day trail period and have been charged, then they will receive a full refund.
Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions or concerns.

----- Original Message -----
So after everything I wrote to you about cancelling all charges and shipments, I now find that you did indeed charge to my card $148.82. It leads me to believe that this on going emailing was simply a stalling tactic on your part till you could get the money. Disgusting.
This has been a most infuriating experience dealing with your company and product. As I told you before I used the product once when I got it and it just made my face red. Why on earth, would I want to purchase it for the now discounted price of $69.95 (this also tells me what an inflated mark up you must have if you actually do sell it for $195, which I highly doubt).

NO I DO NOT WANT THIS PRODUCT. I AM SHIPPING IT BACK TO YOU FOR A FULL REFUND. As I put in the note with all my information in the envelope, give me back the money you had no right to take to begin with and cancel my account. I want nothing more to do with you or your product. Can I make things any clearer than that?
I have however learned a valuable lesson, because if I had Googled your company before I took the survey which gave me the not so free sample, I would have found out that there are numerous complaints from other people who have been duped by you. All I had to type in is "Colagenta scam"

As I understand their explanation of the trial period, you have 14 to try it and can send it back regardless of how much you actually used, but you have 30 days to send it back unopened while you're deciding whether or not you want to try it but it has to be sent back unopened. Well why would anyone send away for a product they aren't going to try and pay for the initial shipping plus sending it back. As they had billed my card, I assume my 14 days were up. .
The next email I got was asking me to send the proof of return and then the final one acknowledged them receiving my scanned postal receipt, stating my money would be refunded and no further shipments or charges would be made. I must say I didn't really believe it would happen.
I would advise everyone to not give up. Keep contacting them. I think there are probably a lot of people who would get frustrated and give up or would take their offer for the product for the reduce price, to cut their losses or perhaps fall for the explanation of the trail period. The point to make clear I think is to keep telling them they never had your permission to take the money in the first place. I did not sign any document or sign for the product and only found out about their terms and conditions when I visited their site.
I wish you all luck with getting your money back.

Collagenta is a SCAM! Does not work and DO NOT believe it is a free trial offer. A heavy bill will be charged to you after you accept the "FREE TRIAL OFFER" and sign up for it. You will ACTUALLY be BUYING the product at FULL PRICE after 14 days. READ the TINY print at the end of the offer. Learned it the hard way when over $150 was charged to my bank account. The Customer Care contact number doesn't work either. I still have the useless full bottle collecting dust on the counter. Throwing over $150 in the garbage. BEWARE!

After much to-ing and fro-ing via email with the Collagenta people they have agreed to give me my money back. They had asked for a scan or picture of my Postal receipt that I had to send to 3 people and then when they sent another thanking me for my proof of return and said they have refunded my charge and that there will be no further shipments or charges to my account, that was Tues and I will give them till tomorrow for it to show in my account and hopefully that will be the end of it for me. If not I will be going to the bank and giving them print outs of my correspondence with them, my proof of return of the product and filing a dispute, I have 30 days.
I think for any newcomers to this scam your best bet is to just cancel your credit card, it would be the quickest way to make sure you don't get charged and go to your account with Collegenta and opt out of the auto-ship. Save yourself all the hassle trying to communicate with them. After all my emails I realized that they were never going to answer any of my concerns or that would be admitting liability on their part. Their letters are probably form letters they send out, you know if customer says this, send letter A etc.

For me,
This all started via malware. I signed out from LinkedIn and got complete survey thing, i filled the form and offered free gifts. i ordered. next day, i signed out from Bell and got the same options. i did the same again. Same day i signed out from another site and got the survey again... Alarm bells started ringing for me... I checked my browsers Add-on and discovered that there is one malware installed on my PC and all surveys were through malware not through reputed sites. I filled the surveys and paid for free trial at first because i thought they were from reputed sites otherwise i would have never done such thing.
So, my first advice to all of you, who have been scammed, please check your browser add-on and disable that malware.

I have this same issue, I have contacted my bank TD and the more people that call their bank and put a claim in the better it is for all of us in hopes of getting our money back. I signed up for the free trial and 3 weeks later was hit with a C148.44 charge. I have tons of e-mails back and forth with them and threatening to sue them. So all of us that have been scamed please contact your banks so this company gets on their raidar and hopefully we might be able to get our money back!. I have also put a stop payment on this company so they can't take more money out next month as I'm sure they will try. If anyone has had any luck in funds being returned please share your storey so others like us can get ours back. This was the first time I have ever bought anything online except for concert tickets and I will not do it again!

Hopefully this company will get what is coming to them and we get our hard earned money back! I will update when I hear more from my bank which will be in about 10 buniness days.

i filled the same survey, which i later found out that was a result of malware installed on my laptop.
I got the free sample, not happy with that.
But after 14 days got charged with an amount of 148.82$. i havelaready wtoe to TDBank. Tomorrow i will call them and will go into the dispute.
I even dont remember that the order form i filled had that fine print.
the order and shipping detail pages, which i have, dont have this thing mentioned.
So, i will take those papers to TDBank and will tell them that i have bought this product for 4.XX$ and here is the order.
and i am very much confident that i will get the refund.
The product dont have any information pages inside the box, which had made me suspicious upon arrival itself.
Because how can a beauty product with pros and cons etc..
i will try to update you with the progress.

This is never ending. Now I've gotten another email, copied here, both my message an Jane's response:

Sincerely,

Jane

All I had to type in is "Colagenta scam".

As I understand it if I don't like the product I can hold on to it for 30 days and ship it back unopened. If I open the product I have 14 days to return it. If course they don't address the fact that they never had my permission to charge anything but the shipping to my card.

I got roped into this scam by stupidly filling out a survey to get a trial sample if I paid for shipping of $4.95 C. So I stupidly gave them my credit card number. I then get an email saying congratulations etc. and they give me my password. When I visit the site is when I find out that they have me signed up for auto-ship and also that the product is not free. It's a 14 trial period after which you can return the product to an address in Israel if you don't want to keep it for the low price of $148.82. You can opt out of the auto ship but it is "not recommended". Naturally I panic and send an email to their customer support people first Greta of no last name and then Alex also of no last name. I told them what happened and that the product was supposed to be free and that I did not sign up for any of this. We go back and forth a few time with me getting ever more frustrated. They explain and I quote from the email:

Thanks for getting in touch with us. Please allow me to explain our trial policy.
The risk-free trial of our Collagenta serum is 2 weeks long and is designed so you can sample our active collagen serum for only a small S&H charge. You will have 2 weeks to evaluate the power of our products. If at the end of your trial you're not satisfied, simply return the bottle to us and we will not charge you anything. If you are satisfied, and I am certain you will be, we will charge you a special discounted cost of Collagenta of only C$148.82. This luxurious serum sells for C$195+ at retail locations and malls, so this is an amazing 50% off.
How $148.82 is 50% of their regular price $195 still puzzles me but I reply :
I got your sample of Collagenta via a free gift if I filled out a survey ad and all I have to do is pay the shipping. Then when I receive the product I find out that it is some sort of auto-ship deal which I did not sign up for. I have checked my status to be removed from auto ship and want assurance that I will not be billed for the product I supposedly got for free. I would like to add that I have tried it once and found it made my face red, so have not used it a second time. I would send it back but don''t want to pay for shipping a second time. I have full-filled my end of the deal as it was presented to me initially, paying for shipping and the product being free. End of.

We go back and forth a few more times, with them never addressing the real problem is that they are promoting it as free and it is not. They do finally tell me:
Thank you for getting in touch with us. I am sorry to hear that you want to cancel and return your trial Collagenta bottle, I hope you have thought that over and realize what you'll be missing out on.
To save you time and hassle, I can offer to let you keep the serum for only **C$69.95** and refund the rest of the charge to you. This is a great deal, as our Active Collagen Serum sells for over C$195 at retail locations, so you'd get to have it for a fraction of its cost and not worry about return shipping and such associated costs.

I realize that all this back and forth with customer service is a stalling tactic until they can withdraw the $148.82 which they did. My bank was of little help when I told them what happened and whether there was any way I can block someone from with drawing money against my consent. They tell me they are a third party and can't cancel a payment agreement with the 2 other parties but they have offered to handle a dispute of the charge but too little to late.
At this point I have sent yet another email telling them that I do not want their product and am sending it back and want a full refund and to close my account, again reiterating that they never did have my permission to take any thing but the intial shipping and to close my account.
They tell me:
If you choose to return the product instead, please send it here:

Your name, address and email must be clearly written on the return package, both inside and out, or we may be unable to refund you. Once we have received your clearly marked return, I will issue a full refund for the charge to you.

So now they may not be able to refund my money if my return package isn't clearly marked? So I am so paranoid at this point that I actually take pictures of the envelope, the packaged product and the note inside with all my info on it for when they claim my refund can not be sent because of some asinine reason they will conjure up. I am so frustrated at the amount of worry and hassle this whole thing has caused me that I am going to write a letter to the editor of my local paper and contact the CBC's Marketplace to see if they can investigate how these foreign companies are scamming Canadians, and I will be taking issue with by bank as well. They had better refund my money in full. I will chalk up the double shipping fees as a lesson learned.

I have feel for this scam, stating that you pay £4.95 for the Collagenta and £3.95 Deadsesa kit. After receiving my kit and finding no invoice or address to send item back I became suspicious so started to look for any contact address, which I could not find.. I then rang my credit card company to stop payment of what I then thought was about £45 each. My bank were brilliant or so I thought stating that alot of people had fell for this and they would put a block on payments but I need to still contact company. Ive tried sending several emails but none would send. Anyway, yesterday I received my card statement and a total of £176. as been taken. After ringing my bank and being totally told that I should read small print and "you dont get out for nowt ", that theres nothing they can do, I dont no were to turn next. Ive since checked their website and my emails and can not prove the increase in pricing so I could atleast get half my money back .Is there anyone out there who can help.

Oh my God...I have also fallen into this scam. Now what? I am not returning the product because it appears from the many commented complaints that even if you return the product, the charges are still there and then you no longer even have the product. I should have known better...these are true SCAM professionals. The money must just be pouring into their pockets...and they are laughing all the way to the bank.
So now what...how can I guarantee that they don't continue to take money from my account? HELP
