After dealing with Dayton Freight with damaged freight, I would not recommend them. The inspection report from a "third party" showed a picture of the freight stacked on top of another piece of freight, causing even more damage then originally caused. The inspection report was not well done, and the sides of the crates at the impact sites were not even removed for inspection for damage. In my opinion, the lack of a thorough inspection was for the benefit of the freight line by not exposing more potential damage.
Do not use dayton freight as a trucking company they are the bottom feeder of the trucking industry. there people damage your freight and try to cover it up with banding and shrink warp and there claims dept is not much better. I had over a 1000 dollar of freight damage by these [censor] and they refuse to reimburse in any way. they have a large turn over in personal and the shipper alpine air supply do not buy anything from them they do not stand behind what they sale. am out money and my damaged order.
Dayton Frieght is terribible, they damaged my frieght and refused to reinburse for the damages telling me they take no liablity in it. When I originally filed the claim nobody got back to me, I had to call to see if they were working on it. I will never use Dayton Frieght again and would not recomend them to anyone.
Dayton freight denied my claim for reimbursement for property damage caused by their truck and driver. Although I have numerous witnesses of the event, they informed me that they did a thorough investigation and determined they are not responsible. They instructed me to file a claim with my home owners insurance. It is unethical corporate behavior to deny legitimate claims, pushing them off onto the general public, and insurance company rate payers, because they are unwilling to live up to their obligations and costs of doing business. I will NOT be doing business with them, and would not recommend anyone else to either.
Dayton destroyed a 1800 rig i had shipped by them..it was wrapped in plastic and since my office girl signed for delivery dayton claims this cleared them of any damage! total B>S> i had to rebuild this mess...I cannt get a reasonable response for Dayton freight...I now will ask any company i buy from in the future if Dayton Freight is involved in any way i will refuse to purchase and will go another route! john ackerman///
