Days Inn unforgivable unkindness

I had pre-paid for two nights at the Days Inn in Golden, Colorado. I stayed only one night and upon leaving requested, Matt the day manager, call Jeffco Action Center or Catholic Charities and see if either had a family, which might need housing for a night. I thought my request was not only reasonable but the proper thing to do since I had already paid for the night and I was told he would look into doing such a request. WELL THE KIND HEARTED MANAGEMENT DID NOT DO AS I REQUESTED. I will not stay at another Days Inn. There attitude, greed and uncaring attitude has seen to that. I have noticed as a senior citizen a unsympathetic attitude the younger generation has for their elders. RUDENESS IS NOT AND WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.

As nice as a thought that was there is an issue with that request.
First would be hotel damages who would cover them if caused (yes it might be a bit stingy of this first, but hotels earn money based on their rooms)
Second is it is your room and has been paid for in advance their might be a complaint from the booking agency you went through.

Third, Hygenic if you stayed one night then your room was treated as a stay over so the family you would have let into your room would have been sleeping in the left over filth of your body and who ever else was in the room, depending on the hotel housekeepers may only be there during one part of the day so no way to reclean it.
And honestly its not twoards seniors, you said it your self its a different generation and in this generation we don't let alot of comments bug us so we seem unsympathetic. AS for rudeness honestly your rude by assuming every days inn would act that way and by assuming that just because he didn't do your request (for what ever reason) he had an "unsympathetic attitude twoards senior citizens"
Also how do you know he never did your request? Did you stay in the room waiting if so then it wouldn't have happened.

Don't stay here or a Days Inn period as I found out they are all independently owned and operated. Meaning they can do and will do whatever they want. For example try to force you to pay for old or previous damages someone else did to the room. The place is already run down and old I figured all the rooms looked exactly like mines where the tv didn't work...

Days Inn dirty hotel and rude workers

I booked through Hotels.com in advance. I asked for a room for five of us. One included my daughter in a wheelchair. I was told we would have a room with 2 double beds and a sofa. When I arrived, i was given a room on the second floor and the hotel had no elevator. So they gave me a room on the ground floor, but the handicap parking was on the other side of the building. The room had 2 double beds and a little table. When I called Hotels.com and asked them to rectify the situation...I was told that to had to take it up with the hotel mgmt. SO I went to the front desk and was told that there was no remarks on the reservation for an upgraded room. I informed her that the room was not big enough to get my daughters wheelchair in and that if we had to stay in that room, I needed a cot. I was told that I could not get a cot. SO five of us crammed into this small room. 3 hours from home..Should have drove home. Both Hotels.com and Days Inn Refused to help me. I asked the rep on Hotels.com to give me her name and she hung up. I asked the asst. mgr his name and he said "I don't wanna." Hotel room was dirty. Stains on the wall. Mold around the shower stall molding. Black dirt on the bottom of the tub. I have plenty of pictures... Informed me that she highly doubts the room is dirty. I asked her to come and see it. She said that she would send someone around. Never did! I called Days Inn's 1-800 number to complain and they never responded back..NEITHER HAS HOTELS.COM. Better off researching and booking on your own. Atleast you'll know what u booked.

Days Inn hotel room left opened

This hotel left my hotel room OPENED after the housekeeping lady half cleaned it. This poses a MAJOR danger to anyone that was staying in the hotel if they do not ensure that the rooms are secure after cleaning. Upon reporting this to the management, I got no apology, only "OK, I will tell her" after I reported the incident.

Days Inn absolutely insane situation!

Where do I start? I am a 40 year old woman, who has stage 3 cancer and is bald from the treatments.
Maybe ten years ago, before I had kids and then got cancer, I was a goodlooking woman. But I hardly remsemble a prostitute of any kind. Apparently, though, the hotel is in a "high prostitution area" so when I walked to the resteraunt across the street.. Vilage inn... After dark... I drew the attention of a security guard that came up to me and outright accused me of being a prostiture. I laughed at first, because its so ridiculous, but he called the local police department (Who were a bit smarter than the overly gung-ho security guard) and the officers realized that I was not a prostitute. However, they searched my room, they drew the attenion of other guests, it was humiliating. I recieved no apology, all I recieved was an explanation that a 'girl"(Which I ceased being many years ago) was arrested the day before in that same room for... Prostitution. That does not mean that anyone who rents the room followng an incident (I had just flown in from ny an hour before checking in) has anything to do with it. Thats common sense, something that seemed to be lacking during this disruptive, embarrasing and just plain insane incident. The rooms are very outdated and worn, the bathroom dirty, and when I was told what went on the room previously I reallly didnt want to sleep in that bed, or that room, for that matter. I called the general manager and the only thing I recieved resembling (Vrey loosely) an apology was that she"did hear that I didnt appear to be a prostitute ". Thats it. I had just come back from a trip in nyc, to go to a cancer center there, I was tired, I was upset, idignant and just completly shocked. I, a 40 yr old cancer patient, have a police report re: suspicion of prostitutiion. My family and I are going to contact an attorney. Also, the place was just so run down, looked nothing like the pictures on the website, and the area (I know now! Lol) is horrendous. The staff is apparently used to dealing with the worst of the worst and seem to have acquired the bad habit of treating all guests in a rude and insulting fashion. How can I be compensated for the cost of the room, as I feel I should me. I got no sleep, I was so upset... And rest in a safe comforable place is what we pay for. How can I get ths made right?

Days Inn cancelation policy - deceptive practice

I made an online reservation with Days Inn and apparently their policy starts off stating that "there will be no credit or refund for early departures, cancellations, no shows..." I thought no problem; I won't be leaving early or requesting a cancelation once I reach the hotel anyway so I'm good to go. My mind was set on the common practice where you make a reservation and if you need to cancel you may do so as long as you give advance notice.

Approximately 30 days prior to my reservation I needed to cancel and that's when the mess started. There were numerous calls with the corporate office talking to Rachel at [protected], and with their Supervisor Robin at [protected] both of whom were completely resistant to a cancelation and refund.

Rachel finally informed me that if anyone can give a refund it would be the General Manager whose name is Deepak Panchal at [protected], the Days Inn located in Los Banos, CA. I spoke to him about the issue and he got so worked up that he hung up on me. I then called him back and addressed his unprofessional attitude but he never apologized and maintained his ignorant stance. I also called the corporate office to complain about his terrible customer service, but they didn't care much. Finally, I took up his nasty attitude in a complaint to the BBB who is currently investigating.

I encourage all readers to call these individuals and shame them for supporting this draconian and deceptive practice.

Days Inn and their family hotel/motels lost a good client over a one night reservation!

Charged for nites stay when guest was turned away. Cancellation was made at appropriate time. Manager had worker pose as himself and did not deal directly w/consumer. VERY bad business practices and unethical policies. Read about them online and you will know not to ever stay there.

Days Inn bad accommodations

Days Inn accepted reservations at full price for rooms that were being renovated and had no heat during the winter. The temperature was 25 degrees at night. In asking for another room which we had been promised we were told all the rooms were full. The tub did not have proper drainage so you stood in dirty bath water while taking a shower. My complaints went unheard and the hotel manager to date has not responded to my e-mails or requests. Laughingly I was offered a 50% discount during my NEXT stay which obviously will never happen. This hotel chain does not care about its consumer.

Two weeks before my visit to Lansing, Mich. I made a reservation at Days Inn on Saginaw, in West Lansing. A couple of days late I called to cancel by reservation and was told that it was cancelled. A couple of days later I doubled-check on the cancellation and was told by the desk clerk that she couldn’t find my name on the reservation sheet so mine had to be cancelled. I returned from my trip in Lansing to find out that I had been charged 62.71 by Days Inn. I called and talked with a individual, who I found out later was the manager, and explained the situation. He ask me for my phone number and said that he would get right back to me. About 15 minutes later I called back and was told that he had just left to go home. I have tried twice since then to talk with him and I get put on hold and the phone is never answered. He refuses to talk to me and I am still out my 62.71. I have called the corporate office and they said that they will get back to me.

As you can guess nothing has happened yet. It seems when you have a complaint, they don’t seem to care.

I fully understand that the various motels throughout the country are not run by Days Inn, rather as a franchise. The headquarters should look at the property located in Williamsburg Iowa. After having stayed there April 21, 2012, rest assured I will not be staying there again. The room had a very bad odor, the pool was so green, my 13 year old grandson would not get in, and even more, there was no hot water for a shower the next morning. I will be in the same area for an overnight stay om May 1st, I wonder if I will be staying at a Days Inn property ?

Me and my husband had reservations to stay on saturdy february 21 2011 an when we got to the room. There were beer bottles cigarete ashtrays full. The beds werent made up. Days Inn complaint

We "tried" to stay at the Days Inn on exit 26 off of Interstate 69. We rented a room (165) that was filthy - smelled like cat piss. We asked for another room, they were trying to give us room 164 which was already occupied by another person. They sent up upstairs to the second floor. On our way upstairs, we noticed the entire back end of the hotel was missing the glass so anyone could come in to the hotel itself, writing on the way. Reminded us of section 8 housing projects. Once we got to our room, we checked to see if we could lock our door - it would not lock properly, and I could reach in with my hand to unlock the chain. The ice maker on two floors were broken, the top of the maker was off and people were throwing their trash bags in there like it was a dumpster.
We left to find another hotel within mins - came back and turned in the keys less then 30 mins later from check in to check out. They would not refund. It was a horrific experience - I'll never stay at a Days Inn again.

Days Inn fraudulent charges

Stayed at the Days Inn in downtown Spartanburg, SC for two dyas in May. I made reservations over the internet and the pictures of the place looked nice.( The place was a dump with abondoned cars all around the place). When I checked in I asked what the nightly rate was. I was told that the rate was set by the "booking company" and they would not disclose the rate. The desk clerk then asked to see my credit card. I was under the impression that the clerk would have run the card through a machine but instead he wrote my card information down on a scrap piece of paper. (This was the first indication of trouble). When I asked the clerk why he needed my credit card number he said he would charge our room if we stole the sheets or towels (which weren't any good anyway).Upon checkout the clerk was no where to be seen and the "owner" was there. I told him I wanted the piece of paper back with my credit card number on it and he produced a different paper which he refused to give back to me. I told him that I was going to be watching my account and he told me he would "NOT" steal from me.

WELL, two weeks later I got a call from my credit card company with information that apparent fraudulent purchases had been made with my card, one for $4100 and another for $350. The card company said the purchaese originated from Spartanburg, SC, amazing huh? When I tried to call the Days Inn, I was immediately cut off and they would not answer the phone again... My advice is to definately stay away from Days Inn's altogether. My next years trip to that area I will stay at a Holiday Inn.

Days Inn charged differently than contracted

Made reservations for 2 nights arriving 12/27/2017, with Days Inn Williamsburg, VA, on their website. Their hook was "Buy Now and Save 15% Off"--non-refundable--cost $140.51. Was in a hurry and failed to note the "non-refundable" feature. OK...my bad...wanted to change, but learned my error. Arrived at hotel; got OK service, etc.

Upon checking out the charge was $146.82, NOT $140.51, as noted on the website and on the emailed receipt. I called the clerk on it and she told me that "...the website reservations system couldn't keep up with local taxes"; I would receive a credit, to be issued by local manager. It only happened after two calls to corporate HQ and escalation to next level of management in corporate; no one seemed to know anything about me or my little problem! I did get my $6.31.

My problem: obtaining the credit was a pain and not easily granted. I suspect the vast majority of customers (I estimate maybe 95+%) either don't notice the discrepancy, or figure it isn't worth the hassle! Nice little bonus for the corporation, and some recovery of the 15% saved...

People--watch your backs! They are after your $$$, in small or large increments. There's a book, out a few years now, entitled "Gotcha Capitalism". It explains a lot about the various ways the corporations inveigle themselves into our wallets...most often without our knowledge. Or, like this one, "It isn't worth the hassle."

My Husband and I stayed at the Days Inn in Waukegan, ILL. We didn't have a reservation but we got a room . Now I wished we had gone somewhere else. The room was crowded...too much furniture in such a small room. We had to move some just to be able to get in and out of bed. The bed had no fitted sheets so I had to tie knotts at the corners to keep it from moving. We wanted ice for drinks and unfortunatly we had to wait for the desk clerk to go up to the 4th floor (which was his room) to get us some ice. Security entrances were broke so anyone could come in after 10 p.m.. We didn't have a carafe for the 1 cup coffee maker, and the continental breakfast consisted of 3 donuts and 4 bagals( what continent ? Ethiopia?...they probably had more food there ) So we skipped eating anything.There was evidents that someone had vomitted on the wall in the bathroom. Tables were so greasy ..or sticky I couldn't and wouldn't put anything down on them (house keeping SUCKED). In the morning i took a shower (or tried too) The shower head was so low I had to bend down to wash( I'm 5'5) . My husband couldn't take a shower (he's 5'10) and the shower head was only 4' ft. from the bottom of the tub. I washed my hair with what they provided (forgot my own) and it was JOY DIHWASHING LIQUID! I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED with our stay there. I will always ask to see the room before I pay for it!

Going thru the same issues with the Days Inn/Savannah Gateway in Savannah, GA. The clerk told us the higher rate was what they received from the corporate website on our reservation, and the issue would have to be researched. Also questioned the charges for the in-room safe we did not use, and was told that the fee was not for the safe but for "security cameras and police surveillance" for our protection. Supposedly the local manager will waive the fee 'this one time' for us. Still waiting for a response from anyone after multiple promises to keep us updated. We also have an issue with being charged twice for two different amounts on our cc for one room, and both charges are higher than what we booked at!

Days Inn poor customer service and billing

I was traveling through AL and stopped at this hotel. I loved the computer in the Lobby except they had no light by the computer and you couldn't see it at night. Despite me voicing a complaint nothing changed (they had a light but it didn't work).

With the room came free breakfast and I heard the staff making a comment how they wished the guest would quit eating the breakfast because they have to keep putting it out and they didn't want to do that. Then why have free breakfast if staff is too lazy to do their job.

I also heard 2 employees make the statement that they hated their jobs because of some of the guests that stay there. Then why don't they quit. Without the guest they would have no job.

I stayed 1 night in the room. Upon checkout I asked them 3 times for a receipt for my room and I was told every time that they had no credit card number or payment info in the system so there would be no charge. 3 times i was told this. Within 24 hours my credit card had been charged for that stay ($130). I didn't mind paying for my room because the room was really nice but it's the fact that I was told there would be no charge..not once not twice but 3 times.

The pool was closed for repair (summer time). Staff was just really rude. Whenever I asked for directions they got upset because they had to assist me. I asked for things I forgot like shampoo. I was told they would bring it down. 5 hours later I went and got it and then I had to wait for a few minutes while they found some. Why do they have signs in the room that says to ask for them if they don't want to have to get it.

Not only did they make sure the guest heard that they were not supposed to eat the breakfast but also that they wished some of us would not stay there. They only want guest apparently who they don't have to see, talk to or assist in any way.

Days inn used to be a great place to stay but now most of them are owned by foreigners who really don't care about their hotels or their guests.

Days Inn has really dropped over the years in customer satisfaction.

It is in a good location and all but use caution with staying here. If you have a dog there is a big fee attached..I had a service dog with doctor papers and I was charged a pet fee of $50. Then they complained when I had him with me in the lobby. He is a service dog..and I had to leave him in the room.

Days Inn guest complaints

I have worked as a General Manager for several Days Inns for 20 years, and have over 30 years of experience in the lodging industry. I have to say that these complaints are appalling. I have no doubt that they are true. There are disreputable managers & owners, and crappy rude employees all across the board, whether at a high priced chain or budget chain. There is no excuse for rudeness, ever, even when the guest is calling me or a member of my team everything but a child of God. There are things we can't control, but we do the best we can under the circumstances, and always try to make it right for the guest. I can't control when a storm comes through and takes out the cable, or the hot water tank explodes, or hail damages a guest's car; if you leave your laptop & your purse on the front seat of your car and go to sleep, I can't control a crime of opportunity; my security guards walk all night but can't stand guard over just your car. There is no excuse for a dirty room. There just isn't. Even if the owners of the property aren't doing their part & providing the tools to keep the property in great condition, a manager is still responsible for cleanliness. There is always a way! We have routines in place for preventive maintenance, for bedspread washing, carpet shampooing, mattress flipping & replacement, drapery drycleaning, etc. We keep our grounds clean, trash picked up & lawns mowed. We always, ALWAYS try to put our best face forward for our guests. It should be said then, that guests lie; that's a sad fact. I have been told that an ice machine doesn't work, they want their money back; I will walk to the machine with the guest...guess what, it works! I have even been expected to refund a room charge because the guest didn't understand that I can't control mosquitos flying and biting outside. I have been told all manner of tales, most of them scams. My staff is trained to go out of their way to make a guest comfortable; then the guest calls the complaint hotline and says their room was dirty, had no pillows, whatever, but that guest never said a word to the staff after arriving in their room, and never said a word at checkout. There are procedures to file complaints with Days Inn; understand please that each property is individually owned, franchised from Wyndham Worldwide/Days Inn; do not blame all Days Inns for what happened at one. Call the Days Inn hotline, register your complaint; it will be handled either by the property or by corporate staff. As for guaranteed reservations & non-refundable cancellations, I would remind you to note whether you are booking through a 3rd party reseller such as Hotwire or Expedia; they have policies for no-refunds because they are deep-discounting; at the property level, we cannot fix something they screwed up, and we can't match their rates; just because you saw THEIR rate online doesn't mean I can give it to you; you have to book THAT rate through THEIR website. Please read everything carefully before booking online, make a paper printout of your reservation with the confirmation number; without that number, I can't do anything to help you with a situation. Also, if the signs say "no smoking" or "no pets", please abide by that; we get complaints all the time when our guests ignore OUR policies and diminish the experience of the next guest. And please, if you do have a problem, please present it in a civil way, face to face if possible, immediately, so that it can be handled immediately! I can't fix a burned out light bulb 20 days after you check out and decide that this one thing "devastated" your vacation. I have stayed at days inn. In Easley sc. For 25 days my first week was horrible my room smelled roaches were in my microwave an shower they moved me I was bitten by a spider so they moved me again an this room had bed bugs I have been bitten by them so I ask to be moved again they wouldn't an told me I had to keep that room they weren't gonna clean it up an I had to sleep on the same bug ridden sheetz I have photos an video of the bugs on my pillow an where I had been bitten the first day I told the lady behind the desk to sign me up for Wyndham rewards she said she did but I never received my free night an now they wouldn't even let me come back it is raining in south Carolina an cold an I'm out in the rain I feel that I should talk to a lawyer but thought I would reach out to someone who can either refund my money or give me a couple nights free at another hotel in Easley I mean it is only fair after the WA I have been treated please someone contact me at billygoodine7@gmail.com or [protected] thanks for your time an may God bless u for your services.

there is a hotel situated on the A1 south bound Barnsdale bar wentbridge pontefract, they call themselfs former travelodge, but when you walk in the hotel all you can see is days inn logo's all over the hotel, so is this one of your hotels or not i was rather confused.
