DataDepot.biz Fraud

This is one of the biggest scams on the internet. These guys HAVE NO LISTS AND DELIVER ABSOLUTELY NO SERVICE WHATSOEVER!. It is a complete and total scam. Frankly, I've never seen a situation where payment was made (we are talking nearly $500.00) and absolutely nothing was delivered. Of course trying to get the money back was even more fun. No less than 10 calls and 20 email exchanges later...nothing. Not even an apology. Just a promise of a credit that simply never came. Finally had to do a charge back through our credit card company. But it gets better. 3 months later, our accountant is going through our credit card statements and guess what? They had been hitting our card for $100 each month since the chargeback. How do these guys hand onto a merchant account? Really amazes me when ###s like this can get away with this crap. Can you say FTC? Guess they're too busy slamming those bad telemarketers to pay attention to businesses like this victimizing other businesses.

This business sells business marketing data which are compelitly useless. I paid $200 for 1.5 million data. Almost 90% of the data are duplicated or out of business. They refuse to refund my money . This is a sham.

DataDepot.biz bad horrible service

Data depot DataDepot.biz is selling email lists of consumers and businesses.
Also provides Bulk Email service.

The lists are old and service is horrible. I send out 65, 000 emails, but only 18 where delivered. No stats of bouncing or unsubscribed e-mails. Just pure scam and fraud.

They have nice website but they never refund the money. Make sure you read the service agreement ! There is a provision to bill you monthly until you CANCEL IN WHRITING VIA CERTIFIED MAIL. Be aware.

DataDepot.biz Mailing List Rip Off

Several months ago, I purchased a mailing list from Data Depot - big mistake as it turned out - they just took my money and never provided the promised information.

Their website listed the data elements they promised and it appeared to be just what I needed. Once I received the mailing list, I found that they had not included the City - certainly an important element in a mailing list don't you think? I contacted them several times before finally receiving a response that there must be something wrong with my computer. Absurd - it was a data file downloaded from an FTP site. Didn't require any programs to run or anything. I contacted them several more times and they simply refused to respond and they refused to provide a refund.

I then filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau - what a waste of time. I've come to the conclusion after this and a previous encounter with the BBB that it is not worth the effort and time. Data Depot responded that they don't guarantee the accuracy of the data and I agreed to that when I purchased the mailing list. True, I do understand that they cannot possibly guarantee the accuracy of the data as addresses change fequently in some cases; however, I did not agree to purchase a mailing list totally missing a promissed data element (city).

I then filed a complaint with the State of Florida Division of Consumer Affairs. Data Depot simply refused to respond to them and they closed the file with no action.

I am continuing to pursue with complaints to the FTC and Pinellas County Department of Justice & Consumer Services.

DataDepot.biz Scam

We contracted to purchase names of active mortgage brokers in the state of Texas. We also purchased a email blast. The company quickly charged our credit card. We never received a confirmation email, nor were we able to track who viewed the email. I personally sent out an email to the email names provided and all returned NOT valid. This is a scam. He will not offer assistance, refunds are against company policy. You can't get a call back but can reach Scott if you press ! for sales. This is the only # he answers and always promises to have it out today. Today never came. We lost $210.00...Don't patronize this scam artist. I filed a complaint with the Attorney General in Florida and also the Better Business Bureau.

Emailed them my contract on Friday, they charged my card, never sent me acknowledgment of any sort about my account being created. Called them on Monday, it seemed from the conversation that I owed them something, they promised they will get back to me with information regarding my account number, mind you my credit card is charges $295 and no account number. Finally I decided to cancel. So far this "friendly" bunch has my physical signature and bank card number in electronic format. this sucks, thy seem to be bunch of prisoners answering the telephone.

Email Marketing is generally perceived as a batch and blast tool to achieve marketing goals for almost no cost which is unfortunate. Data Depot, like many other list vendors are typically 'a vendor'. It is up to the marketers how they make best use of email lists.
Personally, I never use email lists for promotional work; instead, I use to promote the company profile/page/groups etc. across social networks such as Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube etc.

I joined DataDepot.biz as an affiliate. So far I sent out my own email ad through my own sending system so I could check them out. I sent 25, 000 to Businesses from the list they sold me as a test. 40 % were returned by the Postmaster. I also used Bit.ly tracking. Bit.ly said 1, 317 went to DataDepot.biz. My so called Data Depot affiliate tracking said 16 people clicked on their site, no sales. Where do you think the other 1, 301 people went? I also, can't get anyone to call me or return my emails to support. They suck, no matter which way you look at them!
