Data Cards / Express Data Cards not available in India

India Review updated:
100% 1
I have recently bought a DELL laptop. It has a Express Card slot instead of the traditional PCMCIA slot. So, the data cards available in the markets [Reliance/Airtel/...] are not compatible. When asked about it, no one is knowing whether they will be supporting this enhanced Express cards. Its High time when the companies in india takes part in the race of growing technology.

I completely agree with this. I have also brought a dell laptop last week. All new laptops including dell, hp etc support only Express slots than the old PCMCIA slots. The only available Data Cards in India one from Airtel and the other from Reliance support only the old PCMCIA slots. Lots of people are buying new laptops in india which has only express slots. But no service provider is supporting the Express slot.

yes all above are right i my self is in search of express card but no one is telling even the dealer who are selling such laptops are even not able to tell where one can get such card. one of the greatest tragedy of this nation is that multinational are selling their product which even does not have full funtionality of the deviece. they are earning money and our leaders are yelling that india is one of the greatest consumer market but look at our fate these multinational even do not provide all the accessories and its related software and hardware.such question shall be raised in indian parliament and such multinational shall be not allowed to sell their products in our countery without the full products.

Yes I agree with you all. All the latest version of laptos are coming with Express card slots. But the most surprising thing is none of the service providers are showing any interest in upgrading their product to fit this. Its like using a latest car on old tyres.
Even the companies selling the laptops are least bothered to find out what actually fits in this slots and whether the product is available in India.
