Dart Transit Rip off company

I had been off for 4 days due to the truck that they sold me I had only been with them 3 weeks. When got the truck back they gave me a load at 1300 that did not pick up until that nite until 2100 the trailer did not get loaded until 2330 and I had to go 400 miles and deliver at 1100 the next day. They made the schedules and I abide by that and made my delivery on time. And I got fired. Now they have stuck it on my dac report and no other company will touch me. I have a perfect record with driving for the last 7 years but being that they are a big company, my driving career is over. In 3 weeks I brought home a grand total of 400 and do have proof. What ever you do don't work for these crooks.

I'm sorry but this complaint by said Valarie seems bogus and the violent driver complaint as well seems bogus, people these days are out to make a quick buck, I have been with DART on the GO dedicated for 3.2 years and never had a problem from safety or fleet management, I make a good $1, 200 take home settlement, it all depends on health, attitude, and responsibility towards the shipper/receiver, and towards your equipment,

I agree with you because as long as your a driver that came to drive you’ll make your money. I’ve been cashing out for quiet sometime now and I’m not getting paid to say this, it’s just true. I use to work for the Federal Govt so I know what real money looks like.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!
Do NOT give them ANY reason to put their violent drivers on the roads!

On July 5th, 2013 I was on Hwy I-30 West, going through Rockwall, Texas. I was in the "fast" lane and this semi truck was in the middle lane. As I started to pass this truck the lunatic JERKED his truck over in front of me, only a couple of inches from my front bumper...THEN put on his blinker! I had to SLAM on my brakes and almost caused a "plie up" behind me!

I got the phone number off the back of the truck as well as the truck information, truck numbers T219927 and 84793.

DONT do business with ANYONE who puts violent drivers on the roads! The next person they try to kill my be YOU!

Details. Details. And more details. When you guys have a compliant. Please tell the WHOLE story as to why you got fired by Dart.

I was there in orientation. DO YOUR HOMEWORK!. When you go back to your motel room behind the Cracker Barrel in Sellers burg, Indiana LIKE I DID with the lease contract in your hands, READ, READ, READ IT! And get out your calculator and do the MATH, MATH, MATH. $1, 984 for a 2013 Volvo a month is JUST the beginning of your monthly payments. After I calculated up ALL of the little things like People Net, Easy Pass, Insurance, Pre-pass, and a LOT of other little tacked on monthly payments, then fuel & the $1, 984 it came to around $3, 623 a month. Also. The contract says in BLACK BOLD LETTERS numerous times, YOU ARE NOT AN EMPLOYE OF DART TRANSIT. That means that you are OWN YOUR OWN. Remember. Dart is looking out for their LEASE investment. THEY ARE NOT OBLIGATED to give you enough miles for your PERSONAL needs. They give you just enough miles to cover the TRUCK. Think about. Also there are so many other expenses that WILL be charged back to the driver in terms of late freight, damaged trailers. The list goes on and on. Again. READ, READ, READ IT! 6 years is a long time. Think like a BUSINESS MAN. not a Cowboy. You are NOT FREE TO MAKE MONEY (for yourself anyway) UNTIL THAT OR ANY OTHER TRUCK IS PAID FOR. Dart has a high DOT score because of the 3 fatality's so far this year. That means that they will be heavenly screening your every move when it comes to HOS. What I suspect from 3 days of orientation is this. I don't have concrete proof, but think about what I said. When a trucking company has too many accidents and DOT comes knocking on your front door, it gets reported for all of the Shipping companies to read. And that means that that company will loose contracts and money to buy trucks for company drivers. So. Why not change the game plan and start a lease purchase program and let the INDEPENDENT contractor, not the COMPANY driver cover all of the expenses. Then, once the INDEPENDENT contractor signs the contract, adhere to all of the stipulations in said contract. In other words, make it very difficult for that INDEPENDENT contractor to keep that truck. Then sell the USED truck to another INDEPENDENT contractor. It's about QUANTITY. Not QUALITY. Again. I don't have concrete proof. But Think about what you have read so far. One more thing. When I changed my mind and told Dart that I wanted to "go company", 2 hours later the "niceness" about Joe & Kelly disappeared and I was told "you are not what we are looking for" then to leave and given a ride back to the bus station in Louisville. Yes. My record was 90% hire-able. One speeding ticket back in 1989. And one backing into a dock accident in 2007. That's it.

A word of advice. If you do choose to try to hire on with Dart. ( just because you are in orientation DOES NOT MEAN THE JOB IS YOURS) Please, please. Before you sign on the dotted line. Talk to the local people in the area about what they have heard from other former contractors about Dart. TRUST ME! After I did, I no longer felt sad about not being accepted by Dart. I told that person. Thank you for that information.

"I guess I really dodged a bullet."

Good Luck.

I have been with Dart over seven years. When you do your loaded call on the Qualcomm there is a section to list your projected delivery time. If you enter a date and /or time other than that listed on your pre-plan they will either change the delivery time or repower the load with another contractor. Communication is the key!
