My husband and I had the unfortunate experience of doing business with Dance with Me in Herndon, Virginia. This is not a professional studio. I do not recommend them at all. The owner, Tina Carlo, is a disorganized, potty-mouthed, screeching banshee. First, she ruined a Christmas gift of swing lessons to my husband by calling him and asking *him* for payment after I emailed her and told her to call me and only me and not him for payment for the lessons. Then, once she called him and ruined his gift, she called me on my cell after Christmas and told me she never received payment. After she dug around on her desk, and several phone calls later, she found one of my two checks to her. Both had been sent in the same envelope, so that's a bit bizarre. She said she "just happened to look in a spot" she didn't normally look in. Huh? This is my fault? Then, I told her to keep looking for the other check and let me know because I didn't want to incur a stop check fee of $30. She said she would keep looking. Ten days later, I get a call, she still hasn't found the check. She told me she needed a new one. I'm getting annoyed but I tell her okay I'll bring one to class that Friday--four days later. On the day of class, my babysitter canceled due to a broken-down car. I called to tell her I am unable to attend the first class and likely the second due to work travel on the part of my husband thus, perhaps it's best if we sign up for the next session. First, she offers a refund and then pulls it backs stating a no refund policy. And she states that this policy is only for illness, injury, or moving out of the area. She told me I was being a "whiney ###." She told me I'd have to sue her for the money. Then Tina Carlo told me to grow up and hung up on me. Great customer service. Enjoy your dance time with this company. Very professional! As I run my own business, I can state there were about four other ways to handle that without cussing, getting ugly, losing a customer or threatening legal action.
