Asphalt paving of my driveway
We had them remove an old asphalt driveway and replace it with a new asphalt driveway in Nov. 2015. It looked great but in April 2016, 4 months after our new asphalt driveway was installed by Damico Paving it developed "ruts" where our cars drive and are parked. We also have some sunken areas by the garage where water collects when it rains. We contacted them by mail and by phone. When they finally contacted us we were told they wanted to patch the new driveway. We contacted other driveway contractors that felt the problem was either that the material was improperly installed or that improper materials were used . These same driveway contractors stated a new driveway should not have to be patched. In June of this year a 10 foot box truck parked in our driveway for 45 min. and when it left there were 1 inch impressions where it had parked. We tried to contact the owner* ******* ******, but his employees would not oblige us.
Desired Settlement: We would either want the driveway replaced or our money refunded as it looks like we will have to have the driveway replaced in the near future. Patching a 4 month old asphalt driveway is not acceptable.
Drive not done as agreed to
This place couldn't set a time to install the drive and took over a month. Then when they do the drive they messed it up by putting in the wrong culvert pipe 24ft, not the 26ft as agreed to. We had agreed to a diagram of what exactly was to be done, none of it was done correctly. They were very rude and said they would only accept payment when work was done correctly. All lies, I have contacted the city of St. Charles, the city of Wheaton, the Attorney Generals office of the State of Illinois, local BBB and other local government offices. I would recommend to stay away and if you want photos of the job they did I will send them to anyone who wants one. My job puts me in contact with many in the government and public, I will let them all know to stay away from Damico Paving.
After years of contacting Damico about the deterioration of our driveway, we have had no help in fixing the issues. The excuses for the huge cracks are not justified. Poor service and poor quality.
Just had new asphalt drive done in schaumburg. They complied with every single one of the village's request without complaint. Driveway looks great and they were the best bid. And they were well rated on angie's list.
Damico Paving is very proud of the quality of our work, and making our customers happy. Many companies will tell new customers that, but Damico Paving lets our customers speak for us! Below are some of the compliments we received just from 2010 & 2011

I am in the construction business and I was very impressed. It was a well orchestrated process and I watched the whole process and took plenty of pictures. Three inches of asphalt is what the company promised and it is what I got. Excellent work. They have the whole process down to a science!...D. Hartel, Batavia, IL
Added new asphalt driveway for new garage in backyard to front of house. This was a brand new install, no existing driveway. They dug, gravelled, asphalted, etc. Fantastic! Fast, courteous, professional from bid to final completion of work. (We got 3 other bids and there is no comparison on who to use or why). We love the look, quality etc. of the driveway. We are completely impressed. We have asked them to give us another bid to redo our original driveway in front of house. They can't bid until late March/early April due to asphalt pricing, but we can't wait to have them do our front driveway. When I see their signs on people's driveway, I think...lucky family, they are getting the best work done around...S. Alderson, Batavia, IL
Tore out and resurfaced 1000 ft asphalt driveway that butted right up against home. Excellent results. Driveway was removed and replaced in 3 hours with no damage to nearby home. They did the work promised at the promised price...J. Halter, Glen Ellyn, IL
Damico Paving sealed our driveway. They did a great job. They were very professional, good price, and very fair...L. Robertson, St. Charles, IL
After I read this posting, I felt the need to at least contact the company, and give them the benefit of the doubt that the poster above was just disgruntled. They came highly recommended from Angie's List, and others in the neighborhood. When I explained to them about this posting they gave me multiple referrals of past & present customers that I could contact and go check out their driveway's myself. They also told me to contact the city and county that I live in, which is Winfield, in Dupage County. They told me that they have lots of customers who use Damico Paving every year, and that those that work there mostly use Damico as well. If the employees of my city say Damico is a good company to work with, that is good enough for me. I have hired them to replace my driveway, and will post an update after it is complete.
I asked Damico Paving about this customer. They told me that they put in around 500 driveways per year for the last 10 years and seal coat another 2000. Doing the math, that's thousands of customers. They even gave me a list of paving customers from the past years and said pick out any addresses that you like. In other words they handed me 1000's of addresses and pick as many as I want. I did pick a couple near me and they looked great.
They put all driveways in to city codes or better. They also told me to call any city inspectors in the town they do work in. I did call three towns around the Bartlett area. To put it short terms, all 3 villages, said Damico Paving is a quality company and have never had a problem with the work they do.
I ended up using them and couldn't be happier. I have the best looking driveway in the neighborhood.
I had a driveway put in three years ago by Damico and it was seal coated every time by them as well. My driveway is now sinking in several areas where water is pooling. I have asked Damico to look at their workmanship and they gave me an estimate of $8, 500.00 to put on another 2" of overlay. Just like the original posted, this is around a culvert that they put in when installing the driveway. The top of the pipe area is cracking open in the pavement. They say they only give a one year warranty and it doesn't matter how it is after that.
I have had other paving companies come out to look at the problems and they say the base is not correct and would need to be replaced down to the dirt. The original driveway that they replaced was there for 35 years. I just wanted it updated since it was getting old and tired (close to how the new driveway looks in just three years). I paid $9, 500.00 for the driveway three years ago and they want another $8, 500.00 to make it decent again.. but may only last for another year.
I will never use them again and no they won't be doing the repairs. I will go to a place that stands behind their product.
